Joseph L. Lonsway
College instructor/comptroller

Joseph L. Lonsway, 48, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at his home at 277 Clay St.

He was born April 17, 1952, in Tififn, to Thomas W. and Mary Ann (Weinandy) Lonsway.

They survive in Tiffin.

His first wife, Marcie (Muller) Lonsway, died in August 1972.

On Aug. 6, 1977, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, he married Judy A. Gosche, who also survives.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Laura Ann, Elizabeth Susan, Karen Elaine and Anne Kathleen Lonsway, all at home; a brother, Thomas Anthony Lonsway of Rome, N.Y.; and two sisters, Mrs. Nevin (Joan Elaine) Martin and Mrs. Daniel (Teresa) Hartman, both of Tiffin.

A brother, John Lonsway, is also deceased.

Mr. Lonsway, a 1970 graduate of Calvert High School and a 1975 graduate of Marietta College, currently was employed as an instructor at Southern Ohio College in Findlay.

He previously worked as a comptroller for the former Rose Motors (later the Cline Oldsmobile Dealership).

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic, Catholic Knights of Ohio and Columbian High School Boosters.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Frank A. Murd as celebrant.

The rosary will be recited at the church at 10:45 a.m. Friday.

Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Thursday in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where a wake service will take place at 8:45 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association-Seneca County, the Kidney Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.

Charles F. Sliter
Retired Bellevue attorney

Charles F. Sliter, 76, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at his residence on Arlington Drive, Bellevue.

He was born Sept. 22, 1924, in Bellevue, to Charles L. and Loretta (Wagner) Sliter.

His wife, Catherine (Leidy) Sliter, whom he married Aug. 28, 1948, died June 4, 1995.

Surviving are a son, Charles E. Sliter of Fairfax, Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Rick (Jeanne) Koenig of Mentor, Mrs. Bill (Joanne) Dolch of Chicago, Ill. and Mrs. Steve (Kathleen) Monks of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Haydee Bradner of Fostoria and Rita Ulman of Phoenix, Ariz.; and 11 grandchildren.

Mr. Sliter, a self-employed attorney, retired in November after 49 years of service.

He served as the Bellevue City Solicitor 1960-67; on the board of First National Bank 1966-94; as past president and member of the Bellevue School Board and a member of the Knights of Columbus, former Grand Knight of 3rd Degree and Faithful Navigator of 4th Degree; life member of the American Legion, VFW, Ohio Bar Association and Huron and Sandusky Bar Association.

A 1942 graduate of Bellevue High School, he also graduated from John Carroll University and the University of Detroit Law School.

A World War II U.S. Navy veteran, he also was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bellevue.

The Rev. Robert Tucceri and the Rev. Donald Shea will be the con-celebrants at the 2 p.m. Friday funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Interment will be in Bellevue Catholic cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the Auxter-Funeral Home, Bellevue.

Memorials may be made to the church or Sorrowful Mother Shrine Sisters of Notre Dame.

Ruth Manix O'Neill
Retired Human Services director

Ruth Manix O'Neill, 87, of Tiffin, died at 1:51 p.m. Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria.

She was born Dec. 31, 1912, in Darke County, Greenville, Ohio, to John and Anna (Hunt) Manix.

On June 29, 1940, in Greenville, she married John L. O'Neill, who died Jan. 22, 1966.

Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Ann) Blomquist of Charlotte, N.C.; and a granddaughter, Mary Blomquist.

Three brothers and a sister, also are deceased.

Mrs. O'Neill, a graduate of St. Mary College, Notre Dame, had been employed as a social worker in Children Services and also worked as director of the Seneca County Department of Welfare (now Human Services) 1967-78.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, its Altar Rosary Society and the American Association of University Women.

A memorial Mass will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Mary Catholic Church, where the rosary will be recited at 1:45 p.m.

The Rev. Frank A. Murd will be the celebrant.

Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Troy, Ohio.

Visitation at the church will be 1 p.m. Thursday until time of the Mass.

The Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul or the church.

Lucille M. Lonsway
Retired nurse

Lucille M. Lonsway, 89, of Fostoria, died at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, in the Independence House, Fostoria.

She was born June 17, 1911, in New Riegel, to Aurelius C. and Clara P. (Weinandy) Klein. Her husband, Ernest J. Lonsway, whom she married Feb. 14, 1933, in St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, died Aug. 30, 1990.

Surviving are a son, Gerard E. Lonsway of Oregon, Ohio; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Klein of Toledo and George Klein of Greenville, S.C.; and a sister, Helen Rose Atchley of Battle Creek, Mich.

Also deceased are a son, Robert E.; two brothers, Harold and Charles Klein; and a half sister, Evelyn Buzzell.

Mrs. Lonsway's career included nursing positions at Fostoria City Hospital, Mercy Hospital in Toledo and Tiffin and home nursing assignments in the Fostoria area. She also assisted efforts in helping her husband with new business ventures.

A 1932 graduate of Mercy School of Nursing, Toledo, she was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, its Rosary Altar Society, the Daughters of Isabella, Catholic Nurses, and past president of the Circle of Mercy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where the rosary will be recited at 10 a.m..

Burial will be in St. Boniface Parish cemetery, New Riegel.

Visitation is 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Christian Wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Rick Lonsway Senior Center, Fostoria, the church or a charity of the donor's choice.

Robert A. Yingling
Retired grain/lifestock farmer

Robert A. Yingling, 70, of Young Road, Bellevue, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, in the Bellevue Hospital.

He was born Oct. 30, 1930, in Bellevue, to the late Walter A. and Elsie (Stein) Yingling.

On Nov. 13, 1955, he married Dorothy Korndorfer, who survives.

Survivors also include: three children, Mrs. Thomas (Jean) Thompson, John and Thomas Yingling, all of Bellevue; a sister, Mrs. Ernest (Faith) Bellard of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; two brothers, James and Donald Yingling, both of Bellevue; and eight grandchildren.

Also deceased is an infant daughter, Ann Louise Yingling.

Mr. Yingling, a well-known grain and lifestock farmer, retired in 1999. In 1976 he and his wife founded Woodside Farms.

A U.S.Army veteran, he was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Bellevue, served as treasurer for 40 years at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Lyme Township; and was a member of the Huron County Farm Bureau.

A 1949 graduate of Bellevue High School, he enjoyed farming with his two sons.

The Rev. David Wietelmann will conduct the 10:30 a.m. Friday service in St. John's Lutheran Church.

Interment will be in St. Paul cemetery, Prairie Road, Lyme Township.

Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. Thursday at the Auxter Funeral Home, Bellevue.

Memorials may be made to the church or the American Cancer Society.

Phyliss Bowers Frank
Tiffin native

Phyliss Bowers Frank, 77, of Columbus, Ga., died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, in Columbus Hospice House.

She was born Aug. 16, 1923, in Tiffin, to John and Florence (Lackens) Bowers.

Survivors include two nieces, a nephew and two great-nephews.

A resident of Columbus since 1984, Ms. Frank was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She also was active in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Covenant Woods Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, Ga.

Memorials may be made to Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, Ga. 31909.

William K. Tea
Retired production manager

William K. Tea, 87, of South Main Street, Clyde, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, in the Bellevue Hospital.

He was born March 12, 1913, in York Township, to Frank and Ada (Dymond) Tea.

On June 22, 1939, he married Luetta Wagoner.

She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, William K. Tea Jr. of Richmond, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Mark (Luann) Tea Gressman of Clyde; seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a step great-grandchild; and a sister, Eva Vickery of Bellevue.

Also deceased are seven brothers, Ray, Lyle, LaMar, Denver, Eldon, Woodrow and Frank Tea; and two sisters, Elo Stout and Cree Heimbaugh.

Mr. Tea, a 1931 graduate of York High school, had been employed as a production manager at Clyde Cutlery Co./Clauss Cutlery.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Clyde; Monticello Lodge 244, Scottish Rite, Order of Eastern Star 73, Zenobia Shrine of Toledo, the Eagles and Clyde Moose Lodge.

The Rev. Richard Steele will be the officiant at the 10:30 a.m. Saturday service in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde.

Interment will be in McPherson cemetery, Clyde.

Visitation will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where Masonic services will be at 6:30 p.m., Eagles services at 6:45 p.m. and Moose services at 7 p.m.

Earl D. Mellott
General Electric retiree

Earl D. Mellott, 87, formerly of 19 Braden Court, died at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, in St. Francis Home.

He was born March 29, 1913, in Morrow County, to Tollie Otto and Zila L. (Dye) Mellott.

In 1935, in Chesterville, Ohio, he married Kathryn Dunn.

She died in January 1961. On Sept. 24, 1965, in the Lutheran Church, Tiffin, he married Genevieve S. "Mickey" Wheeler, who survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Ronald E. Mellott of Tiffin; two grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

Also deceased are three sisters, five brothers and a grandchild

Mr. Mellott, a 1934 member of the Civil Conservation Corp, retired in 1975 as a roter from the Tiffin General Electric Co.

A former member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, he was a memer of Eagles 402, Moose Lodge 846 and the United Commercial Travelers.

The Rev. John Kirian will conduct the 11 a.m. Saturday service in St. Francis Home Chapel.

Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home and at the chapel10 a.m. Saturday until time of the service .

Memorials may be made to St. Francis Home or a charity of the donor's choice.

Sharon A. Paladin
Laborer

Sharon A. Paladin, 37, 302 1/2 Jefferson St., died Friday, Dec. 23, 2000, of natural causes, in the Emergency Room of Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.

She was born Oct. 8, 1963, in Santa Fe, N.M., to David Chethelahe Paladin and Margaret Jane (Peavy) Paladin, address unknown. She had never married .

Ms. Paladin, a laborer, was a member of the First Baptist Church, Tiffin and Women's Aglow-Findlay Chapter.

Pastor Terry McBeath will be the officiant at the 6 p.m., Jan. 2 service in the Upper Room Church of God, 520 W. Bigelow, Findlay. Burial will be private.

There will be no visitation.

The Routson Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
