Rose Ann Kramer
Clyde resident

Rose Ann Kramer, 68, of Nelson St., Clyde, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001 at her residence. She was born Aug. 18, 1932 and was raised by Judson and Hermina (Ulman) Stacy, both deceased.

Surviving include: four sons, Harold Judson Kramer of Santa Monica, Calif., Ernie, John and James Kramer, all of Clyde; a daughter, Stacy Ruffing of Clyde; two sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Johnson of Hayward, Calif., and Mrs. Stella Rahrig of Sandusky; and seven grandchildren.

Ms. Kramer was a Clyde High School graduate, a homemaker and member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clyde.

The Rev. Jeff Nordhaus will officiate the 3 p.m. Monday funeral service at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde. Burial will be at McPherson cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 1-3 p.m. prior to the funeral service.

Memorials may be made to Sandusky County Hospice.

Wayland F. Williams
Attica resident

Wayland F. Williams, 77 of Attica, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001 at his home. He was born Aug. 1, 1923 in Attica to Earl V. and Lela (Waire) Williams. On Dec. 13, 1945 he married Rose Marie Welch, and she survives.

Other survivors include: two sisters, Marion Taulbee of Batavia, OH., and Janis Hoyles of Vickery; three nephews and four nieces.

Mr. Williams was a graduate of Attica High School, Class of 1945 and served in the Army Air Corp during WW II. He was employed at the Newark Air Force Station in the motor pool. A member of the American legion Post 260 and member of the Mayflower Society.

Private funeral services will be held with The Rev. Malcom Brook officiating. Burial will be at Attica-Venice Township cemetery in Attica. The Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service in Attica are handling the arrangements.

Dale W. Smith
Retired Whirlpool employee

Dale W. Smith, 86, of Pfieffer Ave., Clyde, died on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001 at the Arbors of Clyde. He was born March 28, 1914 to Charles and Lillian (Reed) Smith. In 1950 he married Geraldine "Jeri" Patterson, she died in 1970.

Surviving include: two sons, Gary Dale and David T. Smith of Clyde; a daughter, Melissa Dayringer of Texas; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Mr. Smith was a Class of 1928 graduate of Thompson High School, He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and retired from Whirlpool Corporation in 1975 as a press operator. He was a member of: First United Methodist Church; Moose Lodge; Eagles and V.F.W., all of Clyde.

The Rev. John Bailey will officiate the 4 p.m. Saturday funeral service at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home. Burial will be at McPherson cemetery. Military Graveside Services will be conducted by the Clyde VFW and the Clyde American Legion.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association.

Thomas E. Smith
Area resident

Thomas E. Smith, 85, of 1366 Richland Rd., Marion, died at 1:55 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001 at the Community Health Care Center in Marion. He was born Oct. 24, 1915 to Earl and Esther (Hummel) Smith. On June 3, 1956 he married Dorothy Hopple, and she survives.

Other survivors include: two sisters, Mrs. Rosemary Bower and Mrs. Betty Myers, both of Upper Sandusky; a nephew, Jerry Bower; and two great nephews.

Also deceased are: two brothers, Donald, and Robert G. Smith.

Mr. Smith retired in 1993 as a second generation farmer after 65 years starting at the age of 12 on a wheat bundle wagon with his brother Bob. He graduated Nevada High School in 1934, played basketball, baseball and track. Memberships included: Wyandot County Farm Bureau; Wyandot County Historical Society; Wyandot Tracers; Seneca Searchers; and Ohio Genealogical Society. He was formerly a Sunday School Superintendent and served as church trustee at the Oceola United Methodist Church. He at one time played on the Nevada Merchants Team.

The Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Grand Prairie cemetery in Brush Ridge with The Rev. Robert Hamilton.

Visitation hours are from 10-11 a.m. at the Lucas Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Kenneth N. Tank Jr.
CFO of Stock and Associates

Kenneth N. Tank Jr., 53, of 10 Arrow Lane, Tiffin, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in Farrell, Penn., while traveling on business. He was born Oct. 27, 1947 to Kenneth N. and Dorothy (Jouette) Tank. His mother survives in Walbridge. On June 3, 1995 he married Karen Varney in Tiffin, and she survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Ben Brown; a daughter, Marisa Brown both of Tiffin; a brother, Richard Tank of Toledo; two sisters, Mrs. Patricia Hazelwood of North Richfield, Tex., and Sandra Tank of Sylvania; and a grandson.

Mr. Tank was a class of 1965 graduate of Clay High School, he earned his associate degree from Stautzenberger College. He was a Wendy's Franchisee and Chief Financial Officer of John Stock and Associates of Sandusky. An avid golfer.

The Rev. Jan Kucera will officiate the 2 p.m. Sunday funeral service at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home. Burial will be at Seneca Memory Gardens.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and/or American Heart Association; and/or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Bartlet M. 'Bart' Faber
Former American Standard employee

Bartlet M. "Bart" Faber, 86, of 2400 S. Twp. Rd. 119, Lot 9, died at 11:53 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, in the emergency room of Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

Mr. Faber was born Oct. 7, 1914, in Carey to Henry and Goldie (Hibbitts) Faber. He married Dorothy Elems on June 21, 1947, in the St. John United Church of Christ, Tiffin, and she survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, John and David of Tiffin; six daughters, Carol Bordner of Fostoria, Mrs. Claude (Mary) Weatherbee of Upper Sandusky, Mrs. Lynn (Sandra) Burlile of Lorain, Barbara Elarton, Mrs. John (Linda) Spohn, and Connie Faber of Tiffin; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Richard of Tiffin, and Robert of Sandusky.

A son, six brothers and a sister are also deceased.

He retired in 1977 from American Standard after 28 years of employment as a refire sprayer; and attended St. John United Church of Christ.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home with the Rev. David Culp officiating. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday and 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

David Earl 'Dave' Eash
Retired truck driver

David Earl "Dave" Eash, 59, of 3208 Gwilym Dr., Fostoria, died at 4:36 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, in Medical College of Ohio, Toledo.

Mr. Eash was born April 11, 1941, in Johnstown, Pa. to Irvin and Thelma (Durst) Eash who are deceased. He married Donna J. Jacobs in 1960 at Arcadia Methodist Church, and she survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Beth Ann Hummel and Lisa Basinger of Fostoria, and Joline Roth of Arcadia; eight grandchildren; his step father, Raymond R. Rader of Fostoria; his step mother, Yvonne Eash, of Pennsylvania; a step brother, Gary Rader of Arizona; a half brother, Irvin Eash Jr.; and a half sister, Shirley Eash, both of Pennsylvania.

A sister, Sharon Eash, is also deceased.

A 1959 graduate of Arcadia local schools, he retired in 1995 as a truck driver from Airco, Fostoria now called BOC Gasses. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria, Fostoria Elks Lodge #935, Fostoria Masonic Lodge #288, Garfield Chapter #150 Royal Arch Masons, Fostoria Council #90 Royal and Select Masons, Fostoria Commandery #62 Knights Templar, Valley of Toledo Scottish Rite 32nd Degree, Zenobia Shrine, Toledo, Past President of the Fostoria Shrine Club, Fostoria Ohio Glass Association and curator of the Glass Heritage Gallery where he also served as a board member; and was active in several bridge clubs.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Wesley United Methodist Church with the Pastor Branson J. Hawkes officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where Masonic memorial services will be at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Fostoria Community Schools Music Boosters, Shriner's Hospital for Children, or the Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria.

Mary J. Walter
Fostoria resident

Mary J. Walter, 38, of Thomas Street, Fostoria, and formerly of Helena, died late Wednesday evening, Jan. 3, 2001, as a result of an automobile accident near Fostoria.

She was born May 14, 1962, to Donovan and Donna (McClory) Swaisgood in Fremont.

Survivors include: her former husband, Gregory Walter of Helena; her mother of Helena; two sons, Gary and Andrew Walter of Helena; a daughter, Sarah Walter of Fostoria; a brother, Allen Swaisgood of Lindsey; and a sister, Janice Hudak of Risingsun.

Graduating in 1980 from Lakota High School, she attended both Terra Community College and Owens Community College; worked as a residential assistant for Woodlane Residential Services; a former member of the Burgoon United Methodist Church; she loved horses and enjoyed crocheting.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Nopper-Veh Funeral Home, Gibsonburg, and burial will be in Scott Trinity cemetery, Risingsun.

Visitation will be 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Fund for the Education of Her Children.

Floyd D. Sieger Jr.
Clyde resident

Floyd D. Sieger, Jr., 78, of East McPherson Highway, Clyde, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at his residence.

Mr. Sieger was born Sept. 2, 1922, to Floyd D. and Ethel (Scott) Sieger, Sr., in Green Creek Twp., Sandusky County. He married Anna Lucille Runion April 28, 1946, and she died Dec. 27, 1999.

Survivors include: three sons, Larry and James Sieger of Clyde, and Donald Runion of Clyde; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Connie) Baker and Mrs. Fred (Judy) Oberdorf of Clyde; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ivan Sieger of Clyde; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Marguerite) Barr of Vickery, and Mrs. LeRoy (Helen) Hawk of Fremont.

A son, Ronald Runion, died in 1960; and two sisters, Viola Robinson and Doris Edwards are also deceased.

He received his education at the Green Springs School; was a World War II Army veteran; and worked at Quik Cut in Fremont.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, with the Rev. James Belcher officiating. A military graveside will be provided by the Clyde American Legion and the Clyde VFW in Bakertown cemetery, Clyde.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday; and 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Sarah A. High
Grocery store employee

Sarah A. High, 71, of 811 E. Findlay St., Carey, died at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at the home of her sister in Carey.

She was born April 18, 1929, in LaFollette, Tenn., to Lawrence and Roxie K. (Grant) High.

She is survived by a sister, Aileen Ritter of Carey; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents and a twin brother, Herschel High, are also deceased.

She was a graduate of Carey High School; of the Protestant faith; worked for many years at the former Scheck's Market and Cardinal Grocery, both in Carey; and retired from the Deli Department at Frederick Bros. IGA, Carey, in 1998; she enjoyed bowling and animals.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, with the Rev. David Rush officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County or Wyandot County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, c/o Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey, OH 43316-1169.

Robert F. Harmon

The memorial service for Robert F. Harmon will be at 2:30 p.m. today in the Trinity United Church of Christ with the Rev. Gary A. Hicks and the Rev. William Smith officiating.

Mr. Harmon of 14 Liberty St., Bloomville, died at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 1999, in his home.

The Turner-Engle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Charles C. Poignon III
Ohio Power Co. retiree

Charles C. Poignon III, 86, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at his home at 70 Fourth Ave.

He was born Nov. 10, 1914, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to Charles C. II and Nell (Campbell) Poignon. He had never married .

Surviving are three cousins, Ray Poignon of Tiffin, William Newcombe of Williamsburg, Va. and Ann Louise Werth of Springfield, Va.

Also preceding him in death was his long-time friend, Norma Fruth.

Mr. Poignon, a 1934 graduate of Columbian High School, retired as a service representative from the Ohio Power Co., after 39 years of service.

A sergeant in the U.S. Army, he served in Iran (Middle East) and 3 1/2 years in the Persian Gulf.

He was a member of the Catholic Faith, VFW Post 2858 and the Tiffin Art Club.

The Rev. Frank A. Murd will be the officiant at the 10 a.m. Thursday service in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Visitation will be 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where a wake service will take place at 8:45 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Pines or a charity of the donor's choice.
