Lois L. Brause
Former Sycamore homemaker

Lois L. Brause, 73, formerly of 775 SR 103, Sycamore, died at 4:50 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2001, in the Wyandot Manor, Upper Sandusky.

She was born Sept. 17, 1927, in Crestline, to Clarence and Marguerite (Wion) Lam. Her husband, Harlan E. Brause, whom she married Feb. 18, 1948, died Oct. 20, 1978.

Survivors include: two sons, Gene H. and Neal E. Brause, both of rural Sycamore; and four grandchildren.

A son died in infancy.

Mrs. Brause, a homemaker, was a member of Evangelical Nazareth Lutheran Church, Chatfield.

A Bucyrus High School graduate, her hobbies included square dancing and cooking.

The Rev. Ron Claussen will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Thursday service in the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore. Interment will be in Broken Sword cemetery, Crawford County.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the church or a charity of the donor's choice.

Rita A. Bertsch
Bellevue School retiree

Rita A. Bertsch, 65, formerly of Moore Avenue, Bellevue, died Sunday, March 11, 2001, in the Henry County Hospital, Napoleon. She had been living at the Holgate Quality Care Nursing Home, Holgate.

She was born April 29, 1935, in Franks, to the late Albert J. and Hilda C. (Brown) Bertsch. She had never married .

Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Paul (Mary Ann) Ott of Peru, Ohio, Mrs. Peter (Theresa) Schafer of Monroeville, Mrs. Emerson (Jean) Keller and Mrs. Tom (Betty) Adelman, both of Norwalk and her twin, Miss Anita Bertsch, of Holgate.

Miss Bertsch. a 1954 graduate of Thompson High School, retired in 1996 as a cleaning matron from Bellevue High School, where she had been employed for 25 years.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bellevue, its Altar Rosary Society and the League of Sacred Heart.

The Rev. Robert Kill and the Rev. Robert Tucceri will be the con-celebrants at the 11 a.m. Thursday funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be in Bellevue Catholic cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue, where the rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made for Masses, Missions or a charity of the donor's choice.

Curtis M. Holman
Brother of Tiffin residents

Curtis M. Holman, 63, of Tell City, Ind.,died Sunday, March 11, 2001, near Mt. Pleasant, Ind., of an apparent heart attack.

He was born Oct. 1, 1937, in Tell City, to the late Elmer and Theresa (Sprinkle) Holman. On Nov. 25, 1960, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, near Tell City, he married his wife of 40 years, Joyce (Pund) Holman. She survives in Tell City.

Other survivors include: three sons, Michael Holman of Tell City, Wayne Holman of Lima and William Holman of Jeffersonville, Ind.; three sisters, Eileen Loose, Vita Wagner and Irma Kneedler, all of Tiffin; and three grandchildren.

Deceased are a sister, Mary Buccione; and three brothers, Carl, Earl and Sharon Holman.

Mr. Holman retired with the rank of Major from the United States Army and the Indiana National Guard after 27 years of service.

He was currently serving as commander of VFW Post 2939 and was also a member of American Legion Post 219 and St. Paul Catholic Church, all of Tell City and Branchville Masonic Lodge 496.

A 1955 graduate of Oil Township High School, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially golfing, hunting, fishing and motorcycle riding.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Isidore cemetery, Bristow, Ind., where military rites will be performed at the graveside.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until time of the service Wednesday in the Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, where a prayer service will take place at 6 p.m. and Masonic memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Evelyn M. Perse
Former Fostoria resident

Evelyn M. Perse, 79, formerly of Fostoria, died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at her residence in Marblehead.

She was born May 24, 1921, in Bellevue, to Andrew and Marie (Schaefer) Frankart. She first married Albert O. "Butch" Burrow and he preceded her in death. She later married Wilbur J. Perse, and he also is deceased.

Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Diane) Brandt of Fostoria, Mrs. Richard (Kathy) Gower of Tiffin and Anne Beasley of Marblehead; a stepson, William Perse of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Gene (Janet) Gottfried of Ft. Wayne; a sister, Marion Flicker of Bellevue; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Marlene Fraley; a brother, Earl Frankart; a sister, Catherine Krause; and six grandchildren, are deceased.

Mrs. Perse, a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury, enjoyed crafts.

Services will be at noon Wednesday in the Neidecker-LeVeck and Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Church cemetery, at a later date.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital or St. Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury.

Lucille M. Snay
General Electric retiree

Lucille M. Snay, 88, 7 W. Market St., died at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2001, in St. Francis Home.

She was born May 21, 1912, in Tiffin, to Henry L. and Elizabeth Catherine (Kirian) Lucius. On Feb. 18, 1930, she married Karl Edward Beachner Sr. He died July 17, 1983. She later married Russell M. Snay on March 31, 1986 and he survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. James (Betty) Reinhart of Findlay; a stepson, Gary Snay of Indianapolis, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Marcia Adams and Connie Snay, both of Tiffin; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, a step-grandchild and 16 step great-grandchildren.

Deceased are two sons, Karl E. Jr. and Stephen Beachner; three sisters, Rita Vanfleet, Margaret Houston and Mary Smith; and a brother, Gilbert Lucius.

Mrs. Snay, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, retired from the General Electric Co., formerly of Tiffin.

The Rev. James Say will be the celebrant at the 11 am. Friday Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The rosary will be recited at the church at 10:45 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Sebastian Michael Tarallo
Father of Tiffin resident

Sebastian Michael Tarallo, 83, died Monday, March 12, 2001, at his residence in Oak Harbor.

He was born Sept. 12, 1917, in Middletown, Conn., to Melchioree and Giovannina (Lanteri) Tarallo. On Aug. 20, 1949, in Trumble, Conn., he married Carolyn A. DeBella, who survives.

Survivors also include: two sons, Mel Tarallo of High Point, N.C. and Tom Tarallo of Oak Harbor; four daughters, Joann Ryan of Woodstock, Ga., Carol Marie Wise of Tiffin, Margie Vogler of Destin, Fla. and Lucy Ruiz of Oak Harbor; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Deceased are a sister, Lucy Tarallo; and three brothers, Lt. Col. Frank, Ottavio "Tom" and Melchiorre Tarallo.

Mr. Tarallo, a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II, earned a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and various other medals. During the war he was stationed on a minesweeper, aircraft carrier, destroyers and LST's and took part in amphibious assaults in subsequent operations on the coast of Southern France in 1944. He received commendations for efficiency and diligence in clearing minefields near Anzio,Italy. In 2000, he received a commendation from the French government for his role in these operations. In 1963 he retired from the U.S. Navy as a chief warrant naval officer.

He then worked as a commercial engineer for Commercial Union Insurance Group of Boston, Mass for 20 years, which included working as an inspector for Chemi-Trol in Fremont, retiring in 1984.

A lifetime member of VFW Post 2947, American Legion Post 121 and Eagles Lodge 712, all of Fremont, he also was a member of Military Order of the Purple Heart, Fleet Reserve, U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation, TRDA, Naval Mine Warfare Association and Ottawa County Farm Bureau.

He attended St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor and enjoyed yard work, landscaping and collecting naval memorabilia.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Robinson-Henn-Brossia Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Interment will be in Roose cemetery, Oak Harbor, where VFW Post 2947 of Fremont will conduct military graveside services.

Visitation is 2-9 p.m. today at the funeral home with the family present 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital, Fremont.

Hattie "Kathy" Hartley
Mother of Ft. Seneca resident

Hattie "Kathy" Hartley, 68, of 935 Rosewood Drive, Galion, formerly of Tiffin, died early Wednesday morning, March 14, 2001, in the Rosewood Manor Nursing Center, Galion.

She was born in Johnson County, Ky., Dec. 1, 1932, to Dennie and Susie (Trimble) Blair. On Jan. 24, 1949, she married Gene Hartley, who survives in Marion.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Harlen (Linda) Roberts of Marion; three sons, Mark Nelson Hartley of Peabody, Mass, Mike Eugene Hartley of Fort Seneca and Sterling Blair Hartley of Columbus; a sister, Mrs. Francis (June) Fittler of Mansfield; two brothers, Youell Blair of Morral and John Shell Blair of Vernon, B.C.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hartley, attended Hillside First Church of God in Mansfield, and was employed as a home health care worker and companion for many years.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Glenn Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday in the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home, 318 Mt. Vernon Ave., Marion.

Memorials may be made to the American Arthritis Foundation.

Carmelitta D. Floyd
Retired licensed practical nurse

Carmelitta D. Floyd, 88, formerly of 139 Cottage Ave., died at 4:33 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2001, in St. Francis Home. Arrangements are pending at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Rita Mae Leonard
Tiffin homemaker

Rita Mae Leonard, 77, 84 Oil St., died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2001, in the Emergency Care Center of Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

She was born April 25, 1923, in Tiffin, to James Ralph and Bertha (Barrick) Harshman. Her husband, Robert Leonard, whom she married Sept. 13, 1945, in Fremont, survives.

Survivors also include: two sons, Robert James and Ronald Lee Leonard, both of Tiffin; three daughters, Sandra Louise Berrier, Terri Ann Kisaberth and Shelley Marie Stover, all of Tiffin; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Raymond D. and Paul Harshman, both of Tiffin.

Deceasced is a brother, James Harshman.

Mrs. Leonard, a homemaker, was a Columbian High School graduate. She had lived her entire life in Tiffin.

There will be no services or visitation. The Turner-Engle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bernice Diebley Elsea
Rural Fostoria homemaker

Bernice Diebley Elsea, 90, died at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at her residence at 5629 CR 23, Fostoria.

She was born Aug. 12, 1910, in Fostoria, to Charles and Florence (Cole) Myers. She first married Harold J. Diebley on July 22, 1931. He died Feb. 21, 1966. She later married Farrell F. Elsea on Jan. 27, 1974. He died Nov. 6, 1998.

Survivors include: three sons, Joe and William "Bill" Diebley, both of rural west Independence and John Diebley of Helena; a daughter, Mrs. Dorla Walters of Carey; a step-son and two step-daughters; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Agnew of Fostoria.

Mrs. Elsea, a homemaker, was a member of West Independence United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Jeffrey A. Raker will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Saturday service in West Independence United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Union cemetery, West Independence.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday in the Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the church or Bridge Home Health and Hospice.

Joseph W. Weisenberger
Cherry Street resident

Joseph W. Weisenberger, 70, of 160 Cherry St., died at 1:35 a.m., Friday, March 16, 2001, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

He was a retired communications systems technician for AT&T.

Arrangements are pending at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Betty J. Lambright
Retired Librarian

Betty J. Lambright, 84, of Seneca House and formerly of 333 Elm Ave., died at 11:52 a.m., Thursday, March 15, 2001, in the emergency room at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

She was born June 20, 1916, in Los Angeles to Earl J. and May C. (Mundwiler) Eidt. She married Phillip "Phil" Lambright Aug. 15, 1938, in Tiffin. He is deceased.

Two brothers, William of Benton, Ark. and John of Oklahoma City, Okla. survive.

Mrs. Lambright was a 1934 Columbian High School graduate; retired as librarian at Tiffin State; a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion-Tiffin, Eagles Auxiliary and Doll Club.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph cemetery with the Father Say officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
