Robert C. McGuire
Father of Tiffin resident

Robert C. McGuire, 90, of Warrenton, Va, died at his home on Monday, March 17, 2001. He married Jean Marshall. She died in 1999.

Surviving include: a daughter, Jacquelyn Therriault of Tiffin; two sisters, Helen Prubst of Newburgh, N.Y., and Ruth Cassetta of Winter Park, Fla.; three grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren, all of Tiffin.

Mr. McGuire was an aerospace engineer and retired research development program manager of the Federal Aviation Administration. He worked for Eastern Airlines and became a pioneer in the airline maintenance and operations in engineering. During WW II, he worked for the Air Transport Command, in Transatlantic Aircraft Operations and Maintenance. He worked with developing technology to improve the safety and eliminate airlines crash fire hazards and slippery runway accidents.

His memberships included: St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Warrenton; The Society of Senior Aerospace Executives; SAE Engineering Society; National Association of Retired Federal Employees; Piedmont Environmental Council; Fauquier Historical Society; New York University Alumni Association and Tau Beta Pi Honorary Engineering Society.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Warrenton. Burial will be at Mt. Hope cemetery, Hastlings-on-Hudson, New York.

Visitation hours are from 7-9 p.m., tonight at the Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton, Va., where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Brian Eli Sheeran
Fostoria High School sophomore

Brian Eli Sheeran, 16, of 852 N. Main St., Fostoria, formerly of Tiffin, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001. He was born Dec. 3, 1984 to Emmet T. and Rita L. (Rumschlag) Sheeran, both parents survive.

Other survivors include: two brothers, Adam L. Sheeran of Phoenix, AZ., and Nathan T. Sheeran of Fostoria; a sister, Jessie R. Sheeran of Akron; maternal grandparents, Orland E. "Tub" and DeAnne M. (Zender) Rumschlag of Fostoria; and step-grandmother, Irene Sheeran of Gatlinburg, Tenn.

Deceased are: paternal grandparents, Dr. Emmet T. and Janet M. (Wade) Sheeran.

Mr. Sheeran was a sophomore at Fostoria High School where he played football and basketball, member of the Geary Family YMCA and former Fostoria Junior Baseball player. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

The Elder Steve E. Cain will officiate the 2 p.m. Sunday funeral service at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be at Fountain cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 2-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, the family will be present from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Francis Eugene Light
Clyde resident

Francis Eugene Light, 79, of West McPherson Hwy., Clyde, died on Wednesday, March 21, 2001. He was born July 28, 1921 to Clifford Ray and Gail (Keel) Light. On April 10, 1943 he married Jeanette Van Sickle, and she survives.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Carol Nehls of Gibsonburg; a brother, Norman Ray Light of Findlay; two sisters, Myrtle Leone Russell of Parma and Maxine Huysman of Findlay; and two grandchildren.

Deceased are: a son, Lynn Bari Light; and a sister, Sandra Light.

Mr. Light graduated from Mt. Cory High School in 1939, he worked as a tool and die maker for the New Departure Company.

The Rev. John Bailey will officiate the 11 a.m. Saturday funeral service at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation hours are from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Rosemond P. (Kirkwood) Baker
Attica resident

Rosemond P. (Kirkwood) Baker, 79, of 304 E. Tiffin St., Attica, died at 10:29 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2001 at Mercy Hospital, Willard. She was born Dec. 3, 1921 in Seneca County to the late Lester and Jennifer (Moyer) Bordner. Mrs. Baker was married to Lloyd T. Kirkwood. He died in 1961, then she married Carl F. Baker on Oct. 15, 1970, who survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Guy Kirkwood of Mableton, Ga.; two daughters, Shirley Spears of Bucyrus and Mrs. Donna Leary of Tiffin; four step-sons, Ron Baker of Thornsport, Dan Baker of Lacarn, Gary Baker of Walhounding, and Terry Baker of Attica; two step-daughters, Cheryl Beam of Marion, and Karen Goodman of Port Clinton; a brother, Raymond Bordner of Attica; a sister, Ellen Cousino of Lakeland, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 15 step-great grandchildren.

Deceased are: two sons, Lloyd Kirkwood, Jr. and Richard Kirkwood; a step-son, Kenneth Baker; two sisters, Dorothy Gangluff and Lucille Stein; and a brother, Virgil Bordner.

Mrs. Baker was a homemaker and enjoyed flowers and watching birds.

The Rev. Stephen Holliday will officiate the 1 p.m. Monday funeral service at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Home in Attica. Burial will be at the Attica Venice Twp. cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Seneca County Humane Society, 925 N. Water St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883.

Marilyn J. Gillig
Fostoria resident

Marilyn J. Gillig, 64, of 762 Maple St., Fostoria, died at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at her home. She was born Oct. 13, 1936 to Clarence P. and Mary E. (Zirger) Gillig, her mother survives in Fla.

Other survivors are: two sisters, Mrs. Helen C. Durst of Burgoon and Mrs. JoAnn Doe of Fostoria; two brothers, Thomas E. and Michael Gillig, both of Fostoria; and nieces and nephews.

Memberships included: St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria and it's Rosary Altar Society and the "Special Persons Encounter Christs Kingdom" group, she had also attended the Mary Jane Kerrick School in Fostoria.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the St. Wendelin Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Wendelin Parish cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Hoening Funeral Home. A Christian Wake Service will be held tonight at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and a Rosary will be recited at the church at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Memorials may be made to St. Wendelin Church & Schools; Community Hospice Care, Tiffin and/or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Chad M. Howett
Son of Fostoria couple

Chad M. Howett, 31, of Huron, Ohio, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at his home. He was born Sept. 3, 1969, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Anthony and Cheryl (Morgan) Howett, who survive in Fostoria.

Also surviving are: a sister, Mrs. Craig "Toni" Dukes of Kokomo, Ind.; paternal grandmother, Evelyn Howett of Fostoria; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Morgan of Fostoria; a niece and nephew, Magan and Michael Dukes of Kokomo, Ind.

Both grandfathers are deceased.

A 1987 graduate of Huron High School and 1991 alumnus of Ohio State University, Mr. Howett was a supervisor at Lear Corp. and owner/operator of "Bucko's Bar" in Huron. He was a member of Phi Capa Tau.

The Rev. Donald Goodwin will preside at graveside services at Fountain cemetery, Fostoria, Ohio, where burial will take place.

There are no visitation hours. The Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, is handling arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Huron Athletic Boosters or a charity of the donor's choice.

Mark H. Madden
Former Tiffin resident

Mark H. Madden, 74, of Springville, Ala., formerly of Tiffin, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at his residence. He was born to Charles and Helen (Morris) Madden, Sept. 28, 1926, in Paoli, Penn.

He is survived by: his wife, Vera Graham of Springville; two sons, Mark Jr. and David, of Progress, Or. and Ivanhoe, NC, respectively; four daughters, Julia Bozarth of Normal, Ill., Ellen Edeburn of Burton, Ohio, Joy Madden Bolzer of Cambridge, Mass., and Hope Madden Wolfington of Columbia, S.C.; a stepson, Scott Graham of Kingston, NY; a stepdaughter, Juanita Graham of Columbia, S.C.; twelve grandchildren; two brothers, James of Tiffin and Charles of Wayne, Penn; and two sisters, Helen Patrick of Seminole, Fla., and Ann Recchilongo of Malvern, Penn.

Deceased are: his parents; his wife Julia; two sisters, Mary Taylor and Margaret Campbell; and a stepson, Jeffrey Graham.

Mr. Madden was a decorated World War II veteran and retired Catholic Youth Organization Director. He had been a longtime member of St. Mary Church, Tiffin, where he was active in Boy Scouts, CYO sports and gymnastics. He enjoyed travel, athletics and family activities.

At 11 a.m. Tuesday, a memorial Mass will be offered at St. Mary Church, Tiffin. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery. A family visitation hour will precede the Mass. Collier-Butler Funeral Home, Gadsden, Ala., is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be given to St. Vincent dePaul Society, Boy Scout Troop 445 or CYO, all in care of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Frank R. Kelley Jr.
Former Fostoria resident

Frank R. Kelley, Jr., 75, of 1621 S. Byrne Rd., Findlay, died at 2:20 a.m., Friday, March 23, 2001, in Foundation Park Care Center, Toledo. Born May 11, 1925, to the late Frank R. and Gladys Marie (Seeds) Kelley, he married Evelyn Shirk; they divorced, but she survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: a son, Gregg D. Kelley of Columbus, Ind.; a daughter, Sue A. Woodland of Philadelphia, Pa.; and three grandchildren.

Two brothers, Malcom Kelley and William F. Beck, preceded him in death.

A graduate of Fostoria High School and The Ohio State University, Mr. Kelley served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He operated Kelley's Paint and Supply in Fostoria for 10 years and was the Executive Director of HHWP in Findlay for 15 years. He served as a counselor for various drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers in the Toledo area over the last 10 years.

He was a member of Collingwood Presbyterian Church, Toledo and former member of the First Presbyterian Church, Fostoria. A member of the Fostoria Elks and American Legion, he was past president of Fostoria Kiwanis Club and a former Scoutmaster.

The Rev. R. Edson Reed will officiate at funeral services at 11 a.m., Monday, at Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria, where the United Veterans of Fostoria will conduct Military Graveside Rites.

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the services at Mann-Hare.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Loma I. Miller
Retired dietary worker

Loma I. Miller, 74, of St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria, died at 8:24 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2001, at the Center. She was born June 30, 1926, in Marion, Ohio, to the late Charles and Bessie (Worthington) Ball. On June 25, 1948, she married Jay Miller in Bowling Green, Ohio. He died March 20, 1999.

Surviving are two daughters, Natley Peace and Mrs. Jeff "Doddi" Cramer, both of Fostoria. A sister, Mary Jezeroski of Toledo, 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Miller was retired from the dietary department of Fostoria Community Hospital, having also worked as a waitress at several area restaurants. A member of Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of God in Fostoria, she and her husband donated baked goods to the needy of the community for over 10 years. She volunteered at the Sharing Kitchen for many years.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Donald Goodwin presiding. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation hours will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.

Nancy Lou Noon
Former Tiffin resident

Nancy Lou Noon, 67, of Hillsborough, N.C., died Thursday, March 22, 2001, in Hillsborough.

She was born on Nov. 18, 1933, in Tiffin, to the late Ira and Lucille (Niedzwicki) Lucas.

Surviving are two sons, Charles Thomas Noon of Marion and Douglas Edward Noon of Carey; a daughter, Nancy J. Noon of Hillsborough; three brothers, Howard Lucas of Carriere, Miss., Robert Graham of Ohio, and William Graham of California; a sister, Mary Price of Tiffin; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Noon graduated from high school in Old Fort and was a manager of a convenience store when she retired. A former resident of Florida, she had resided three years in Hillsborough.

Graveside services will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Union cemetery and will be officiated by the Rev. Barry Bordenkircher.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Monday at Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

Edna B. Fernbaugh
Homemaker

Edna B. Fernbaugh, 96, of rural Fostoria, died at 9:50 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2001, in St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.

Arrangements are pending at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Etta M. Neate
Registered nurse

Etta M. Neate, 101, of Upper Sandusky, died at 4:32 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2001, in Wyandot Memorial Hospital.

She was born Feb. 27, 1900, in Crawford Township, Wyandot County, to L. John and Etta F. (Davidson) Kemmerly. On Oct. 2, 1938, she married John Henry Neate, in Bellfountaine. He preceded her in death Jan. 6, 1976.

Surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a brother, Ben Kemmerly, and a sister, Dorothy Ellis.

Mrs. Neate, a homemaker and a registered nurse, worked in the former doctors offices of I. N. Bowman, Frederick Kenan Jr. and Sr., and C. B. Scholfield. In 1953, she was appointed as the first Wyandot County health nurse, retiring in 1938.

She was a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the A.E.F. class for more than 80 years. She was also a member of First Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky, a member of the Order of Eastern Star 366 and a member of the Hospital Guild. She enjoyed birds, vegetable and flower gardening.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bringman Clark and Co. Funeral Home and will be officiated by the Rev. Julieann Smith.

Burial will be at the Old Mission cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where Order of Eastern Star services will be at 7:45 p.m.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice, in care of Bringman Clark and Co. Funeral Home, P. O. Box 246, Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.

Edward T. Schoewe Sr.
Delphi employee

Edward T. "Big Ed" Schoewe Sr., 53, of Huron, died unexpectedly, Friday, March 23, 2001, at Providence Hospital, Sandusky.

He was born Oct. 7, 1947, in Sandusky and was a 1965 graduate of Perkins High School.

Survivors include: his wife of 33 years, Anna (Klingshirn) Schoewe; two sons, Edward Jr. of Norwalk and Paul of Huron; a daughter, Kathy Schoewe of Huron; his mother and step-father, Louise and John Kinn of Sandusky; two half-brothers, Robert and Gary Kinn, both of Sandusky; a half-sister, Mrs. James (Judy) Laws of Avon; and four grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his father, Quintin Schoewe; a son, Mickey; a sister, Dianne Schoewe; and his grandparents.

Prayer services will take place at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Groff Funeral Home, Sandusky, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron. The Rev. Edward Littleman will be the officiant. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery, Sandusky.

Visitation will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dialysis Unit at Providence Hospital, 1912 Hayes Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870.
