U. B. Green
Former Tiffin resident

Word has been received that U. B. Green, 81, of Hampton, KY., formerly of the Tiffin area, who died at 2:45 a.m., Sunday, March 18, 2001, at Lourdes Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth (Reiter) Green, a son, George Green of Smithland, KY., a sister, Jeannette Ryan of Cleveland; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Deceased are a daughter, Riza Green, and a grandson, Preston Green.

Mr. Green, a member of Hampton Baptist Church, was a Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of the American Legion. He served as administrator of the Livingston County Hospital, retiring after 10 years, and served 12 years as administrator of the Livingston County Convention Center.

The Rev. Jimmy Wring officiated the March 20 service, at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland. Burial was in the Hampton cemetery.

Priscilla Rose Saltzman
Former Alvada resident

Priscilla Rose Saltzman, 81, of 201 Maple St., and formerly of Alvada, died at 11:12 a.m., Saturday, April 7, 2001 at Winebrenner Village, Findlay.

She was born Oct. 16, 1919, in Mt. Blanchard, to Calvin W. and Minta Rose (Fink) Miller. On July 7, 1940, she married J. Joseph Saltzman, Sr., and he survives.

Survivors also include: three sons, J. Joseph Saltzman of Ada, OH., Calvin E. Saltzman of Ellicott City, MD., Paul L. Saltzman of Alvada, and Mark A. Saltzman of Waverly, OH.; six daughters, Mrs. Phillip B. (Diana Rose) Armstrong of Bridgewater, N.J., Mrs. Kenneth N. (Nancy) Powell, of Westfield, OH., Mrs. Dean A. (Jane E.) Kirian of Alvada, Mrs. Robert M. (Suzanna L.) Wells, Mrs. Jeff (Linda E.) Snook and Mrs. Norris (Judy A.) Alfred, all of Vanlue, a brother, Harry Miller of Mt. Blanchard, a sister, Mrs. Carl (Rebecca) Hector of McComb, 27 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Deceased include: three brothers, Thomas Miller, Calvin R. "Dick" Miller and Robert Miller; three sisters, Myrtle Hilty, Ruthanna Miller, and Amberdell Miller, and one grandchild.

Mrs. Saltzman, was a 1937 graduate of Mt. Blanchard High School, a 1939 graduate of Findlay College, and also awarded Ohio Mother of the Year in 1979. She was employed at an agricultural office in Findlay. In addition, she was a member of the West Independence United Methodist Church, the Vanlue Band Mothers, the Ft. Findlay Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of Vanlue P.T.O. and alumni-band mother.

Service will take place 11 a.m., Thursday, at the West Independence United Methodist Church and will be officiated by the Rev. Jeffrey A. Raker, the Rev. Alan Sandford, and the Rev. Lowell Reeder. Burial will be at Union cemetery in West Independence.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at the Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, and one hour prior to the service, Friday, at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Vanlue Band Mothers in care of Vanlue High School, Vanlue, OH., 45890.

Agnes M. Miller
Bellevue resident

Agnes M. Miller, 92, formerly of Strecker Road, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Bellevue Hospital.

She was born May 21, 1908, in Havanna, to Jacob and Catherine (Miller) Hay. On October 18, 1932, she married Alfred L. Miller. He died Oct. 5, 1970.

Survivors include: four sons, Clayton and Paul J. Miller, both of Bellevue, Charles Miller of Monroeville, and the Father Joseph E. Miller, CPPS, of Centerville, Iowa; eight daughters, Mrs. Jeff (Catherine) McConnell, Martha Turner, Mrs. Dale (Helen) Gasteier, and Mrs. Terry (Bertha) Eisenhauer, all of Bellevue, Mrs. Frank (Rita) Smith of Altona, Ill., Mrs. Herb (Bernadette) Stockmaster, of Attica, Mrs. Ann Portteus of Huron, and Mrs. Leroy (Rose) Nelson of Edon, 40 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Deceased include: a son, Eugene A. Miller, grandson, Paul J. Miller, Jr., two brothers, Cletus and Allen Hay; three sisters, Rosalia Phillips, Amelia and Olivia Beat.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Bellevue, Altar Rosary Society, Young at Heart, and the Neighborhood Club.

She was a homemaker, and enjoyed gardening, loved nature and flowers, bingo, and playing cards.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with Father Joseph E. Miller and Father Robert Tucceri officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-9 p.m., Sunday, with an 8:30 p.m. Rosary, at the Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia Street, Bellevue.

Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Immaculate Conception School, or the Society of Precious Blood.

Miriam June Eaton
Former Tiffin resident

Miriam June Eaton, 20186 Village No. 20, Camarillo, CA., and formerly of Tiffin, died at 1:55 a.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2001 in the Oxnard, CA. hospital.

She was born in Orrville on June 11, 1921, to William and Eva (Saylor) Heebsh. They preceded her in death. On May 11, 1943, in the English Lutheran Church of Tiffin, she married James Eaton. He survives in Camarillo.

Other survivors include a daughter, Valerie Eaton of Bridgeville, CA., a sister, Mrs. Phyllis Lucius of Tiffin, a half-brother, Richard Heebsh of Findlay, two grandchildren.

Deceased include two brothers, William and Donald Heebsh.

Mrs. Eaton graduated from Columbian High School in 1939.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, in Camarillo, CA.

Memorials may be made to Hospice.

Robert A. Sellers
National Machinery retiree

Robert A. Sellers, 67, of 15 Cherry St., died at 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at Fox Run Manor, Findlay.

He was born December 22, 1933, in Sandusky County, to Maurice and Loyola (Cleveland) Sellers. They are deceased. On March 10, 1956, in Fremont, he married Janet Matthews, and she survives.

Survivors also include: a son, Gary Sellers of Glendale, Ariz., three daughters, Mrs. Ugo (Denice) Baldetti of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Greg (Camilla) Fox of Tiffin, and Mrs. Steve (Leslie) Smith of Republic; a brother, Dr. M. Eugene Sellers of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Dean (Sandra) Scheerer of Clyde, and Kayola Sellers of Toledo; and nine grandchildren.

Mr. Sellers, graduated in 1952 from Green Springs High School, attended Chicago Technical College. He retired from National Machinery, as chief engineer in the bolt making department.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, and Society of Antique Modelers, as well as an avid airplane modeler and woodworker. For 40 years, from his home, he owned and operated Sellers Hobby Shop.

The Rev. Margaret Marks will officiate the 10 a.m. service, Saturday, at the First Lutheran Church in Tiffin. Burial will be in the Green Springs cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the VFW and American Legion.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation, 4901 Main St., #200, Kansas City, MO., 64112-2634, or the First Lutheran Church, Tiffin.

Lena M. Hamilton
Sister of Tiffin resident

Word has been received that Lena M. Hamilton, 80, died March 30, 2001, at St. Joseph Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Ind. She was born in Nashville, Tenn.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: daughters, Linda Hamilton, of Richmond, Ind., Christene Hamilton, Frances Joyce, and Louella Traxell, all of Ft. Wayne, Ind., a brother, Jeff Leaver, of Tiffin, a sister, Margie Meadows of Old Hickory, Tenn., and three grandchildren.

Deceased is her husband, James M. Hamilton.

Graveside services will take place,11 a.m., Friday at Marion National cemetery, 1700 E. 38th Street, Marion, Ohio. Arrangements are being made by the Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Funeral Home, Ft. Wayne., Ind.

Hattie Demith
Mother of Tiffin resident

Hattie Demith, of South Chicago Heights, Ill., died Monday, April 9, 2001.

She was born in Chicago Hts., Ill., Sept. 12, 1908, to Blaze and Theresa Wegrzyn. Her husband, Frank Demith died in 1964.

Survivors include: five sons: Jerry Demith of Keyesport, Ill., Tom and Richard Demith, of Chicago Hts., Eugene Demith of Tiffin, and Michael Demith of Park Forest, Ill., four daughters, Mrs. Jerome (Dorothy) Kasper of Sun City West, Ariz., Mrs. Robert (Loretta) Wilson of Park Forest, Ill., Mrs. Thomas (Jean) Neal and Mary Ann Demith, both of South Chicago Hts., Ill., and a brother Edward (Ann) Wegrzyn of Chicago Hts., Ill., 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Demith, a homemaker, was a member of the former St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chicago Hts., the St. Joseph's Rosary Ladies Sodality, the St. Liborius Catholic Church, and was active, for many years, with the Chicago Hts. Senior Citizens Group Thursday Club.

Services will take place 10 a.m. Thursday, at the Kerr-Parzygnot Funeral Home, 540 Dixie Hwy., Chicago Hts. Interment will be at the Calvary cemetery in Steger, Ill.

Visitation is 8:30-10 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

Della Mae Adams Predieri
Willard resident

Della Mae Adams Predieri, 90, of 725 Park St., Willard, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Willard, following a short illness.

She was born March 26, 1911, in Salyersville, Ky., to George W. and Mary (Reed) Adams. On March 9, 1928, in Willard, she married Tony C. Predieri. He died Nov. 30, 1984.

Survivors include: two sons:Tony Predieri of Attica, and Stephen Predieri of Willard; daughters Mrs. Robert (Julie) Danhoff and Mrs. James (Susan) Maudsley, both of Willard, Mrs. Reuben (Barbara) Turner of Catawba Island, and Mrs. Karl (Rosemary) Lenhart of Attica, a brother, George Adams of Plymouth; three sisters, Ruth Patton of Shelby, Margaretta Goin of Bucyrus, and Jane Webb of Newark; 21 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.

Deceased include: an infant daughter, Dorothy Predieri, a daughter, Pauline Tschappat, three sisters, Cloia Gose, Ruby Keith and Loretta Adams; five brothers, Arley, Willard, Stanley, Hobart and Woody Adams.

Mrs. Predieri was a homemaker and pollworker, of many years, for the county board of elections in Willard, a member of the Church of God in Prophecy, where she taught Sunday school, was church secretary and a member of the Women Missionary Group.

She enjoyed camping and travelling, was a member of the Rolling Wheel Camping Club, and enjoyed oil painting.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at the Lindsey-Kocher Funeral Service, Willard, with the Rev. James Daniels and the Rev. Tony Cooper of the Church of God of Prophecy, officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove cemetery in New Haven.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Church of God of Prophecy, Building Fund, 3462 Austin Drive, Willard, Ohio 44890.

John F. "Frank" Unterwagner
Retired National Machinery employee

John F. "Frank" Unterwagner, 92, formerly of 487 Circular St., Tiffin, and St. Catherine's in Fostoria, died at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2001 at the Elmwood Assisted Living at the Shawhan in Tiffin. He was born July 23, 1908 to John and Anna (Dorian) Unterwagner. On Feb. 8, 1930 he married Gertrude A. Keller in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin. She died Dec. 23, 1992.

Surviving include: a daughter, Mrs. Marie Lucius of Tiffin; a half-brother, Ray Unterwagner of Galion; and a granddaughter, Debra Lucius of Tiffin.

Deceased are: a step-brother, and step-sister.

Mr. Unterwagner was raised and educated at the St. Francis Orphanage and attended Heidelberg College. He retired in 1970 after working 30 years as a machinist at National Machinery Company in Tiffin. Prior to that he worked for Zay's Chevrolet in Tiffin as a mechanic. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the National Machinery Quarter Century Club.

The MSGR. Edward Dunn will officiate the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home. There will be no visitation on Sunday. The Quarter Century Club will meet at 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rosary will be recited at church 15 minutes prior to the Funeral Mass.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association; Alzheimer's Foundation and/or to St. Joseph Catholic Church

Herbert J. Fox
Lifelong area farmer

Herbert J. Fox, 68, of 395 E. CR 173, Fremont, died on Wednesday morning, April 11, 2001, at Fremont Memorial Hospital. He was born May 15, 1932 to Fred and Gertrude (Magrum) Fox. On Sept. 8, 1956 he married Bernadine Foos, and she survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Victor Fox of Fremont and Thomas Fox of Lindsey; a daughter, Regina Honebrink of Cincinnati; three brothers, Donald Fox of Tiffin, Richard Fox of Clyde and Harold 'Skip' Fox of Fremont; two sisters, Pauline Lowery and Patricia Lowery, both of Fostoria; and six grandchildren.

Deceased are: a son, Michael; a daughter, Karen Fox; and two brothers, Ralph and Louis Fox.

Mr. Fox was a lifelong area farmer, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sandusky County Farm Bureau. He was a collector of toy tractors and he and his wife enjoyed going to auctions.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., tonight, at the Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral home, Fremont. A wake service will be held at 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association and/or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Jamey L. Doll
Fostoria resident

Jamey L. Doll, 23, of South Main Street, Fostoria, died Wednesday evening, April 11, 2001, in Fostoria.

He was born July 15, 1977, in Tiffin to Milton and Vickie (Sager) Doll who survive in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: a brother, Justin of Fostoria; two sisters, Mrs. Scott (Amy) Kirkpatrick and Brandy Doll, both of Fostoria; maternal grandmother, Laurabelle Sager of Tiffin; and paternal grandmother, Dorothy Thompson of Tiffin.

A brother, Joshua, is deceased.

There will be private funeral services and no visitation.

Gregory J. Tobin
Former Fostoria resident

Gregory J. Tobin, 51, of Mount Vernon, Ill. and formerly of Findlay and Fostoria, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 8, 1951, in Mount Vernon, Ill. to John and Betty (Lemay) Tobin. His father and stepmother, Betty (Borkosky) Tobin, survive.

Other survivors include: three brothers, Tom Kevin of Fostoria of Fostoria, Tim of Chicago, and Chad of Columbus; two stepbrothers, Doug Fillhart of Dallas, and Jeffrey Fillhart of Phoenix; three sisters, Theresa Clark and Anne Tobin, both of Findlay, and Jonna Tobin of Austin, Texas; and a stepsister, Sandra Fillhart of New Riegel.

Mr. Tobin retired from County Line Auto Sale in Fostoria; was a lifetime member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 1197, Sportsmen Club, National Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, and a former board member of St. Wendelin Boosters.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.
