L. Irene Miller
Sycamore resident

L. Irene Miller, 78, of 5039 Marion-Melmore Rd. in Sycamore, died at 4:15 p.m., Sunday, April 29, 2001, in Mt. Carmel West, Columbus.

She was born August 14, 1922, in Crawford County, to Reuban A. and Martha "May" C. (Campbell) Heistand. They are deceased. She married Lloyd E. Miller on March 2, 1944. He died in 1985.

Survivors include: Edwin A. Miller of Sycamore, Mrs. Violet Stockmaster of Hinsdale, N.H., three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a close companion, Mr. Ralph Sturtz of Sycamore.

Deceased are a daughter, Judith A. Miller; four brothers, Boyd W., Lloyd F., LaVern, and Jacob A. Campbell; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and member of Lemert United Methodist Church. She loved to do all kinds of crafts.

Services will take place at 11 a.m., Friday, at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore. Burial will be in the Benton cemetery in Crawford County.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Lemert United Methodist Church in care of the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, 201 W. Saffel Ave., Sycamore, OH 44882-0356.

Esther E. Good
Former school teacher

Esther E. Good, 87, formerly of rural Bellevue, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, in the Bellevue Care Center.

She was born June 16, 1913, in Fremont, to Joseph W. and Clara (Rine) Hintz. On June 13, 1939, she married James I. Good. He died June 9, 1964.

Survivors include: two sons, James A. Good of Bellevue, and David R. Good of Bellbrook.

Deceased include: an infant daughter, Joyce E. Good; three brothers, Alton, William, and Lester Hintz; and a sister, Pearl Hintz.

Mrs. Good attended Adams Twp. School, and graduated in 1931from Thompson High School, and Bowling Green State Normal School. She was a school teacher at Thompson, Attica and Seneca East Schools. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Fireside, a member of the Seneca County Retired Teachers Assoc., the Seneca County Farm Bureau; and Sheaf member of the York Grange.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at Zion United Church of Christ in Fireside, with the Rev. Candace Thomas officiating. Interment will be in the Fireside cemetery.

Visitation is 7-9 p.m., Friday, at the Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St. in Bellevue.

Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund at Zion United Church of Christ in Fireside.

Donald E. Bishop
Former Tiffin resident

Word has been received that Donald E. Bishop, 50, of Punta Gorda, Fla. died May 2, 2001.

He was born July 17th, 1950, in Tiffin, to Lawrence and Frances Bishop, they are deceased. His wife, Judy Bishop survives.

Survivors also include a son, Ryan Bishop; a daughter, Tracy of Pt. Charlotte; a brother, Edwin of Westerville; three sisters, Carol Tucker of Sarasota, Fla., Mrs. John (Julie) Kern of Tiffin, and Bonnie Scheid of Las Vegas, Nevada; and two grandsons.

Deceased is a brother, John Bishop.

Mr. Bishop graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1968 and moved to Punta Gorda, Fla. in 1975. He was employed as an auto mechanic at Palm Chevrolet, specializing in diesel engines.

Graveside services will take place in Attica. Day and time to be announced at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of S.W. Florida (Pt. Charlotte Chapter), 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fla., 34238.

National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte is in charge of arrangements.

Laura Sue Boden
Former Carey resident

Laura Sue Boden, 47, of Tulsa, OK., formerly of Carey, died in her home on Monday, April 2, 2001. She was born July 31, 1953 to Charles and Martha L. (Wenner) Carter, her father survives. On May 19, 1973 she married Robert Boden II, they divorced and he survives in Dayton. Her step-mother, Mary Boden survives in Fayette.

Other survivors include: two sons, Abraham Boden of Sisseton, S.D. and Robert Boden III of Tulsa, OK.; two daughters, Sabrina and Crystal Boden, both of Dayton; a brother, Mark Carter of Lewis Center; three half sisters, Angie Carter of Ohio, Linda Barron of Tx. and Margo Carter of Mich.; and a step-sister, Cindy Jackson of Tenn.

Ms. Boden was a Class of 1971 graduate of Carey High School. She worked as a waitress and was a member of Assembly of God Church.

The Rev. Paul W. DeMoss will officiate the 2 p.m. Saturday graveside funeral service at Spring Grove cemetery in Carey. Local arrangements being handled by the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home.

There are no visitation hours.

Memorials may be made to Multiplesclerosis Society in care of the funeral home.

Pauline E. "Polly" Borer
Retired registered nurse

Pauline E. "Polly" Borer, 86, of 28 Westwood Court, Tiffin, died Thursday, May 3, 2001. She was born April 25, 1915 to Henry A. and Karoline (Reger) Lay. On June 20, 1942 she married John Burton Borer, he died March 6, 1999.

Surviving include: two sons, F. William Borer of Zeeland, Mich., and Bradley R. Borer of Tiffin; two daughters, Barbara B. Williams of Doylestown, PA. and Mrs. Beth Moon of Aiken, S.C.; a brother, Richard Lay of Scott; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Cozart of Upper Arlington and Ms. Minnie L. Lay of Van Wert; 20 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Deceased are: a brother and four sisters.

Mrs. Borer graduated from Haviland High School and St. Vincent School of Nursing, Toledo, as a registered nurse. She retired from the Seneca County Health Department. Memberships included: St. Vincent Alumni Association; member St. Joseph Festival Committee; co-founder of Cotillion Club; Rosary Altar Society; Tiffin Deanery Council of Catholic Nurses and St. Joseph Catholic Church.

The Msgr. Edward Dunn will officiate the 11 a.m. Saturday Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the church. The Rosary will be recited at 10:45 a.m. Saturday. Hoffman-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Hancock County Hospice Care and or St. Joseph Boy Scouts Troop 444.

Merritt Charles Keegan
Ford Motor Company retiree

Merritt Charles Keegan, 91, of South Main St., Clyde, died in Arbors of Clyde on Thursday, May 3, 2001. He was born April 6, 1910 to Winthrop and Clara (Hodgkinson) Keegan in Clyde. On April 19, 1933 he married Gladys Myers, and she survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Louis G. Keegan of Sandusky and Richard L. Keegan of Strongsville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Deceased are: eight brothers, Merlin, Gordon, Ross, Cecil, Johnny, Leonard, Robert and Arthur Keegan; and three sisters, Rosie Heabler, Margie Myers and Mary Kathryn Keegan.

Mr. Keegan went to the Townsend School, he retired from Ford Motor Company in 1975, he also worked as a custodian at the United Methodist Church in Clyde and formerly worked for Clyde Cutlery and Clyde Porcelain. His memberships included St. Paul Lutheran Church of Clyde, former Charter Member of the Clyde Eagles, Church's dartball team and the UAW.

The Rev. Gerry Gosnell will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Saturday, funeral service at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clyde. Burial will be at Greenlawn cemetery. Visitation hours are from 5-9 p.m., tonight, at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home.

Mary E. Cole
Carey resident

Mary E. Cole, 84, of 201 east South St., Carey, died at 3:36 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2001. She was born April 12, 1917 to Howard and Minnie (Agerter) Shaffer. On Feb. 4, 1938 she married Henry A. Cole, Sr., he died Nov. 21, 1990.

Surviving include: three sons, Henry Cole, Jr., Ricky Cole and Donald Cole, all of Carey; five daughters, Mrs. Deanna Stevens of Fostoria, Mrs. Margaret Cramer of Fostoria, Mrs. Dorothy Graves of Carey, Rosemary Billock of Carey and Mrs. Cathy Parsons of Carey; six brothers, Albert Shaffer of New Riegel, Ralph Shaffer of Tiffin, Eddie Shaffer of Lovell, Bob Shaffer of Nevada, John Shaffer of Carey and Harold Shaffer of Marion; a sister, Eileen Shaffer of Upper Sandusky; 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren.

Deceased are: a son, Gene Cole; and three brothers, Paul, Frank and Glen Shaffer.

Mrs. Cole was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith.

The Pastor Bryan Tilburt will officiate the 1 p.m. Saturday funeral service at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey. Burial will be at Zion cemetery in Vanlue.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., tonight, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Wildwood Chapel and/or Wyandot County Home Health Agency c/o the funeral home.

Vern E. Baugher
Retired farmer

Vern E. Baugher, 93, of St. Francis Home, died at 6:55 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2001, in St. Francis Home.

He was born Nov. 3, 1907, in Melmore to Ira and Bertha (Kerschner) Baugher. He never married .

A sister, Grace Haring of Washington D.C. survives.

Deceased are: two brothers, Ray and Darl; three sisters, Enid Hall, Carrie A. Miller and Pearl M. Smith.

Mr. Baugher was a retired farmer and spent his entire life in Seneca County.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home with John Kirian as the officiant. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.

Visitation is one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to either St. Francis Home or Community Hospice.

Mary E. Cole
Carey resident

Mary E. Cole, 84, of 201 E. South St., Carey, died at 3:36 a.m., Thursday, May 3, 2001, in Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.

She was born April 12, 1917, in Wyandot County to Howard and Minnie (Agerter) Shaffer. On Feb. 4, 1938, she married Henry A. Cole, Sr. and he died Nov. 21, 1990.

Survivors include: three sons, Henry Cole, Jr., Ricky and Donald, all of Carey; five daughters, Mrs. Larry (Deanna) Stevens and Mrs. Gary (Margaret) Cramer both of Fostoria, Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Graves, Rosemary Billock and Mrs. Robert (Cathy) Parsons, all of Carey; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; six brothers, Albert of New Riegel, Ralph of Tiffin, Eddie of Lovell, Bob of Nevada, John of Carey, and Harold of Marion; and a sister, Eileen Shaffer of Upper Sandusky.

Deceased are a son, Gene; and three brothers, Paul, Frank and Glen.

Mrs. Cole was of the protestant faith and a homemaker.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, with the Pastor Bryan Tilburt officiating. Burial will be in Zion Bloom cemetery, Vanlue.

Memorials may be made to Wildwood Chapel or Wyandot County Home Health Agency, c/o of Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey, OH 43316-1169.

Albert R. Hemminger
Kiwanis Manor resident

Albert R. Hemminger, 63, of 7 W. Market St., died at 4:50 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2001, in Arbors at Clyde.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral home.

Barbara J. Dryfuse
Republic resident

Barbara J. Dryfuse, 63, of 9201 E. Twp. Rd. 8, Republic, died at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2001, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

Arrangements are pending at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

Mildred F. Ingram
Fostoria resident

Mildred F. Ingram, 78, of Park Ave., Fostoria, died at 4:28 a.m., Sunday, May 6, 2001, at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.

She was born on May 22, 1922, in Fostoria, to Irvin H. and Minnie (De'sheltler) Niswander. On May 5, 1947, in Tiffin, she married George E. Ingram. He died on April 15, 2001.

Survivors include: three sons, Howard Laney of Fostoria, Ronald Laney of Cripple Creek, Ky., Robert Ingram of Taylor, Mich., a brother, LaVerne Niswander of Fostoria; two sisters, Norma Fillhart of Fostoria, and Leona Smith of McComb; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Deceased are: four brothers, Dale, Jack, Cloyd and Bob Niswander; and five sisters, Thelma Thomas, Ruth Rinebold, Margie Zuern, Donna Reidling and Doris Myers.

Mrs. Ingram attended Trinity United Brethren Church of Fostoria and was a homemaker.

Services will take place at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria. The Rev. Keith Davis will be the officiant. Burial will be in the Fountain cemetery in Fostoria.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Edna S. Coldiron
Sycamore resident

Edna S. Coldiron, 85, formerly of 2020 CH 35, Sycamore and Wyandot Manor in Upper Sandusky, died at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2001 at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

She was born on July 24, 1915, in Carey, to Edward and Ludia (Spires) Rothgeb. On Nov. 19, 1936, she married Eddie J. Coldiron. He died Sept. 5, 1994.

Survivors include two sons, James E. Coldiron of McCutchenville, and Gary R. Coldiron of Nevada; four daughters, Mrs. Larry (Dorothy) Cheney of Upper Sandusky, Mrs. Bradley (Barbara) Walton of Upper Sandusky, Mrs. Donald (Beverly) Riedel of W. Frankfort, Ill., and Mrs. George (Virginia) Tuttle of Sycamore; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Deceased are five brothers, Harley, Elmer, John, Albert and James Rothgeb; and two sisters, Mrs. Zella Briggs and Margaret Stroub.

Mrs. Coldiron was a homemaker and member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Sycamore and the Dorcas Society. Her hobbies included quilting, painting, and woodworking.

Services will take place at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge cemetery in Sycamore.

Visitation is 12:30-1:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's of North Central Ohio Chapter, Mansfield.
