Harry David Rhodes
Dana Continental Hose employee

Harry David Rhodes, 57, of 17341 CH 113 Harpster, died at his home at 1 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2001. He was born Nov. 25, 1943 to Clyde McCandless and Mildred Ann (Bittner) Rhodes, both are deceased. His step-mother, Mrs. Alice Krumm of East Liverpool survives. On Nov. 15, 1985 he married Roletta S. Weese. She died Sept. 16, 2000.

Surviving are: a son, Paul D. Rhodes of Harpster; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Marrinaccio of Great Falls, Mont., and Mrs. Mary Edinger of Beaver Falls, Pa.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Michelle Manley of Marion; a step-son, Robert A. Raymond, Jr. of Harpster; a brother, Arthur C. Rhodes of East Liverpool; a sister, Mrs. Kim Winkleman of East Liverpool; and eight grandchildren.

Deceased is: a daughter, Georgia Lee.

Mr. Rhodes was a 1961 graduate of Beaver High School in Beaver, Pa. He was a machine operator at Dana Continental Hose of Upper Sandusky for the past 7 years, he also worked as a diesel mechanic in Findlay. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer serving from 1964-85 after 21 years. His memberships included: VFW 3313 of Marion, where he was a lifetime member and past quarter master.

The Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sylvania Hills cemetery in Rochester, Pa. The Bringman Clark & Company Funeral Home of Upper Sandusky is handling the arrangements.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to American Lung Association and/or to the charity of the donor's choice.

William P. Morgan
Former President of Wagner Quarries Company

William P. Morgan, 81, of 2004 Pelton Park Lane, Sandusky, died late Wednesday evening, May 23, 2001 in Firelands Community Hospital following a brief illness. He was born June 6, 1919 to Carl C. and Gladys (Knight) Morgan. On Oct. 14, 1950 he married Marjorie Noftz, and she survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Pamela Lutz of Chicago, Ill. and Mrs. Joanne Widman of Bloomville; and a grandson.

Deceased is: a brother, Howard Morgan.

Mr. Morgan was a 1938 graduate of Cleveland Heights High School and attended Sandusky Business College. He served as president of Wagner Quarries Company from 1977-83, retiring after 36 years. He was a WW II Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Signal Corp. in China, Burma and the India Theatre. He attended the Zion Lutheran Church and member of the Plum Brook Country Club, American Legion Post 83, the VFW, I.A.B. and a 50 year member of the Elks.

Funeral services will be private. Burial will be at Oakland cemetery.

There are no visitation hours scheduled.

Groff Funeral Home, Sandusky is handling the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor' choice.

F. Evelyn Kiessling
Former Tiffin resident

F. Evelyn Kiessling, 89, of Ft. Myers, Fla., and formerly of Tiffin, died Monday, May 14, 2001. She was born March 4, 1912 to Oscar J. and Lottie (Nickles) Stierwalt.

Surviving include: a son, Richard Kiessling of Olivet, Mich.; a grandson, Jeffrey Kiessling of Marshall, Mich.; great-granddaughter, Logan; and two brothers, Don Stierwalt of Fremont and Jack Stierwalt of Columbus.

Deceased are: her husband George; granddaughter, Jennifer; and a sister, Mildred.

Mrs. Kiessling lived in Tiffin most of her life. She was an occupational therapist at Tiffin State Hospital until she retired in 1974 and then moved to Ft. Myers, Florida.

Memorial services were held May 17 in Charlotte, Mich., where the Rev. Dr. Carol Spangenburg officiated. Internment will take place at a later date at Greenlawn cemetery in Tiffin.

Mary (Pauline) Voorhies
Retired General Electric employee

Mary (Pauline) Voorhies, 92, of 24 Woodwind Drive, Attica died Thursday morning, May 24, 2001, at the home of her daughter, where she had lived for the past 10 years. She was born Jan. 7, 1909 to William and Ruth (Ruehle) Hepperly. She married Harry Kagy and they divorced, she later married Russell Voorhies on May 15, 1954. He died on Oct. 17, 1978.

Surviving include: a daughter, Mrs. Mary Bowling of Attica; a son, Robert N. Kagy of Bloomville; a step-daughter, Mrs. June Lawrence of Fremont; twelve grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.

Deceeased are: a son, Clifford Kagy; a daughter, Elinor Johnson; a step-daughter, Gloria Bray; a brother, Harold Hepperly; a sister, Martha Boyer; and two grandsons.

Mrs. Voorhies retired in 1974 from General Electric in Tiffin, where she had worked as a press operator for 27 years. She was a member of the Quarter Century Club at G.E. She was also a member of the Bloomville United Church of Christ.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 South SR 19, Bloomville. The Rev. Cathy Wirth will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Union cemetery in Old Fort.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., tonight, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Fund and/or Bloomville United Church of Christ.

Gerald (Jerry) L. Albright
Attica resident

Gerald (Jerry) L. Albright, 76, of Attica, died at 2:15 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2001 at his home. He was born Feb. 25, 1925 in Willard to the late Fred and Cleo (Hough) Albright. On Aug. 29, 1948 he married Bernece Hineman, and she survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Michael G. Albright of Attica; a daughter, Pamela J. Smith of Willard; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Allen Albright of Willard and Ralph Albright of Norwalk; and five great grandchildren.

Deceased is a brother, Walter Albright.

Mr. Albright worked for Northern Ohio Telephone Company in 1953 as a lineman in Willard, then in 1956 served as local manager for Attica until appointed as assistant district manager in Medina. He then served as an engineer for GTE in Bellevue until retiring in 1983 after 32 years. A graduate of Willard High School, Class of 1943, member of Attica United Methodist Church, Golden Rule Chapter 562 F&AM, Tiffin OES 189, and Pioneer Telephone Association. Mr. Albright was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling, golf and camping.

The Rev. Thomas Kalb and The Rev. Malcolm Brook will co-officiate the 11 a.m. Tuesday funeral service at the Attica United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Attica Venice Township cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 1295 W. Tiffin Street, Attica with Masonic Services being held at 6:45 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Attica United Methodist Church, Mill St., Attica, Ohio 44807 and/or Community Hospice Care, 182 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin, Ohio 44883.

Jean K. Shuff
St. Francis Home retiree

Jean K. Shuff, 75, of 269 Clinton Ave., died Friday, May 25, 2001, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

She was born Dec. 25, 1925, in Bellevue to Robert and Helen (Miller) Strecker. Both preceded her in death. On March 7, 1948, in Tiffin, she married Robert R. Shuff and he survives.

Survivors also include: a daughter, Mrs. Peter (Anita) Fleck of Tiffin; three grandsons, Bryan, Eric and Nathan; and a great-grandson, William.

Preceding her in death were a son, Chris Allen Shuff in 1970, and a brother, Robert Strecker.

Mrs. Shuff, a 1943 Columbian High School graduate, also attended Tiffin University. She was a part-time receptionist for St. Francis Home and had worked at Webster Mfg., Wright Patterson, and Tiffin State Hospital.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church and was an avid bowler.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home with the Rev. David Culp officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Marjory L. Rinebold
Fostoria resident

Marjory L. Rinebold, 75, of Westhaven Drive, Fostoria, died at 1:11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Independence House in Fostoria.

She was born May 11, 1926, in Wyandot County, to Clyde and Mildred (Riedel) Hufford, and they are deceased. On Sept. 1, 1948, in Covington, Ky., she married Gordon H. Rinebold. He died Oct. 12, 1980.

Survivors include: two sons, Michael Rinebold of Austin, Texas, and Monte Rinebold of Fostoria; a sister, Dorothy Risner of Fostoria; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rinebold was a homemaker and 1944 graduate of Fostoria High School as well as a life member of Fostoria Chapter NAACP.

Her body was donated to science.

Memorials may be made to Bridge Hospice of Hancock County, 1900 S. Main St., Findlay, OH 45840.

Alice Marie Ferrall
Co-owner of Clyde restaurant

Alice Marie Ferrall, 86, of Ott Street in Clyde, died Saturday, May 26, 2001 at Bellevue Hospital.

She was born June 27, 1914, in Kansas, Ohio, to Arthur B. and Zita (Bour) Powell. On Aug. 8, 1936, she married Frank B. Ferrall and he preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1995.

Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. William (Diane) Dagg of Clyde; a sister, Mrs. Martha Jane Swinnerton of Tiffin; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Deceased is a son, David Ferrall, in 1988.

Mrs. Ferrall, a Columbian High School graduate of 1932 and a 1934 Tiffin University graduate, was a bookkeeper for Bond Furniture in Tiffin, and later was bookkeeper and co-owner, with her husband, of Ferrall's Restaurant in Clyde.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Clyde where she had taught Sunday School for more than 20 years, a member of the Rachel Circle, and former member of the Mother's Club, and a Blue Bird Leader.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Clyde. Burial will be in Bakertown cemetery in Clyde.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Clyde, or to Sandusky County Hospice.

Kathryn M. Binkley
Clyde resident

Kathryn M. Binkley, 80, of Sandusky CR 224, died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Arbors of Clyde.

She was born Oct. 1, 1920, in Sandusky County to Rufus and Shirley Ann (Ramson) Huss. Both are deceased. On July 4, 1940, she married Clifton Binkley and he died Oct. 12, 1986.

Survivors include: a daughter, Mr. Raymond (Barbara) Carrothers of Mesa, Ariz; a sister, Elwyne Sherman of Fremont; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were a son, Larry Binkley in 1971, and a sister, Alda Kohlenberg in 1988.

Mrs. Binkley graduated in 1938 from Green Springs High School and was a laborer with S.E. Hyman Co. in Fremont until 1973.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde with the Rev. Robert Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation is one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

James G. Hall
Former Tiffin resident

James G. Hall, 53, of Cynthiana, Ky. for the past three years, died Thursday, May 3, 2001. He was born Oct. 17, 1947, in Whitesburg, Ky. to Lenville and Della (Caudill) Hall who are both deceased. He married Phylis Goshe in 1993 and she survives. Two children from a previous marriage also survive: a son Cody and a daughter Jamie, both of Tiffin; and several aunts and uncles.

He was a member of VFW Eagles.

There will be no funeral services.

James 'Jim' Hall
U.S. Navy veteran

James "Jim" Hall, 53, of Cynthiana, Ky., and formerly of Tiffin, died Thursday, May 3, 2001, in the Veteran's Hospital in Lexington, Ky.

He was born Oct. 17, 1947, in Whitesburg, Ky., to Lenville and Della (Caudill) Hall. Both are deceased. In 1993, he married Phyllis Gase. She survives in Cynthiana, Ky.

Survivors also include two children, Cody and Jamie Hall, both of Tiffin.

Mr. Hall, a Columbian High School graduate, was employed as a semi-truck driver and was a member of VFW, Eagles, Amvets and DAV. Additionally, he was a war veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy for one year.

Graveside services will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Fairmont cemetery, officiated by the Rev. James Rochester, with a memorial service conducted by the United Veterans Council.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to United Veterans Council.

Dorothea VanCamp
Tiffin resident

Dorothea VanCamp died at 2:40 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2001, at Akron General Medical Center. Arrangements are pending with the Turner-Engle Funeral Home in Tiffin.

Margaret E. Powell
Fostoria resident

Margaret E. Powell, 84, of 728 Oaklawn Ave., died Monday, May 28, 2001, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 19, 1916, in Fostoria, to Ross and Dama (Shrider) Kooken. On May 18, 1941, in Fostoria, she married Dean Willis Powell. He died March 27, 1994.

Survivors include: two daughters, Gay A. Powell and Susan E. Powell, both of Fostoria; and two sisters, Marilyn Kooken of Tiffin, and Marian Kreiss of Bryan.

A son, Danny Powell, also is deceased.

Mrs. Powell graduated from Fostoria High School, was a homemaker, and had been employed at the former Feisel's Grocery in Fostoria. She was a member of The Church of the Brethren in Fostoria.

Services will take place at 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria, and will be officiated by the Rev. Sterling Beasley. Interment will be in Fountain cemetery.

Visitation is 10-11 a.m., Thursday, prior to services, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.
