Norma Jane Myers
Teacher/school psychologist

Norma Jane Myers, 72, of Bascom, died Friday, May 25, 2001, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 27, 1928, in Springfield, MA., to Judge C.C. and Norma (Scott) McKay and both are deceased. She married W. Howard Myers and they divorced. He survives in Prescott, Ariz.

Survivors also include: a son, Carl F. Myers of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Ginnie Stidham of Willard; and five grandchildren.

A brother, David McKay, is deceased.

Mrs. Myers was a graduate of Fostoria High School and attended Heidelberg College. She received an undergraduate degree in education as well as master's degrees in remedial reading and school psychology from Bowling Green State University.

She was a teacher and school psychologist for more than 40 years, working at St. Joseph's High School in Fremont 1988-1999, the Fremont School District from 1963-1988, and Port Clinton School District from 1957-1963. She continued a private practice in psychology until her death. She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Fostoria.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m., Thursday, at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria.

There will be no visitation.

Ruthann McEntire-Hollin
Bendix retiree of Fostoria

Ruthann McEntire-Hollin, 71, of Nat-Lin Drive, in Fostoria, died at 5:10 a.m., Sunday, May 27, 2001, in Fostoria Community Hospital.

She was born Aug. 31, 1929, in Perry Township., Wood County, to Edgar and Leona (Brobst) Layton, and both are deceased. On Sept. 22, 1945, in Bowling Green, she married Chancie McEntire. He died Nov. 1, 1992. On June 6, 1997, in Fostoria, she married Green Hollin, and he survives in Fostoria.

Survivors also include: a son, Terry McEntire of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Sandy) Berrier of Fostoria; a brother, Chester Layton of Newark, Ohio; two sisters, Ellen Will of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jean Strong of Risingsun; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Jess and Paul Layton, and two sisters, Dorothy Layton and Helen Shaffer, are deceased.

Mrs. McEntire-Hollin retired as an assembler in 1978 from Bendix, having more than 30 years of service. She was a member of Dillon Road Baptist Church in Fostoria, the Fostoria Moose Lodge, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and the Fostoria Garden Club.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Minton officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens near Arcadia.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with a Women of the Moose Memorial Service at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Dillon Road Baptist Church in Fostoria.

Joanne Wolfe
Upper Sandusky resident

Joanne Wolfe, 56, of 4915 CR 47, died at 11:27 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2001, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

She was born Jan. 1, 1945, in Mifflin Township, Wyandot County, to Clarence and Dorothy L. (Van Orsdall) Young, and both are deceased. On May 24, 1964, in Salem United Methodist Church in Wyandot County, she married David D. Wolfe, and he survives.

Survivors also include: two sons, Kevin D. Wolfe of Gahanna and Gary A. Wolfe, of Upper Sandusky; a brother, H. Dale Young of Forest; and three granddaughters.

A brother, Donald L. Young, is deceased.

Mrs. Young, a graduate of Upper Sandusky High School in 1963, was a homemaker, and assisted on the family farm operations. She was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Pitt Township, Wyandot County, where she was a member of the choir, Sunday School treasurer and financial treasurer. She was a former treasurer of the Wyandot County Fair and enjoyed playing cards, traveling, shopping, NASCAR races and camping.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. The Rev. Adrian-Sunday, Don Corbin, and Phil and Barbara Laucks will officiate services. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Emanuel United Church of Christ, Wyandot County Hospice, or Wyandot County Home Health Agency, in care of Bringman Clark and Co. Funeral Home, P.O. Box 246, Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.

Inez P. Heistand
Mother of Upper Sandusky resident

Inez P. Heistand, 88, formerly of rural Nevada, died at 11:55 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2001 at the Wyandot County Home in Upper Sandusky where she had resided for the past few years.

She was born Oct. 3, 1912, in Crawford County, to Ray and Hattie (Mulencopfh) Crissinger. On June 4, 1932, in Greenup, Ky., she married Carl A. Heistand, and he died Oct. 24, 1987.

Survivors include: two daughters, Jean Byrd of Upper Sandusky, and Mrs. Gilbert (Joyce) Murphy of Nevada, Ohio; five grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Raymond and Homer Crissinger, and three sisters, Velma Roth, Wilma Bliss and Helen English, are deceased.

Mrs. Heistand graduated from Eden School, was a life member of the Salem United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Farm Bureau North East #9, member and past president of the Hospital Guild of Wyandot Memorial, member of the Eden Extension Homemakers and a 4-H leader for many years.

She enjoyed sewing, flower and vegetable gardening, cooking, playing cards and traveling with her husband to California and Florida.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lucas Funeral Home in Nevada, Ohio, with the Rev. Sonja Bender officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home,

Memorials may be made to the Salem UMC and/or Wyandot County Nursing Home in care of Lucas Funeral Home, P.O. Box 98, Nevada, Ohio 44890.

Robert Preston
Husband of Former Tiffin resident

Word has been received that Robert Preston, 50, of 822 Wackeman Ct., in Westerville, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001.

He is survived by his wife Laurie (Baumgartner) Preston, formerly of Tiffin; sons Zachary and Nicholas Preston; a daughter, Stephanie (Travis) Moriarty; and a sister Ann (Larry) Stouffer.

A Memorial Service took place May 26 at North Church of Christ in Columbus, where the family received friends two hours prior to the service. Pastor Tim Rohr Bacher officiated. Private family interment will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Right To Life, 2238 S. Hamilton Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43232.

Cora Dorothea VanCamp
Seneca County Probate Court retiree

Cora Dorothea Van Camp, 83, of Walker Street, in Tiffin, died at 2:40 p.m., Monday, May 28, 2001, in Akron General Hospital.

She was born Aug. 3, 1917, in Galion, to George and Gladys (Troup) Reagan. On March 1, 1936, in Tiffin, she married Clyde Thomas Van Camp. He is deceased.

Survivors include: two sons, Thomas and Robin VanCamp, both of Tiffin; and a daughter, Rebecca Van Camp of Kent; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Van Camp was a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church and its Ladies Organization; the Dendarah Court of Tiffin Ladies Shrine Club; Knight Templars Ladies Club; and member and Past Matron of Tiffin Chapter 189 Order of Eastern Star.

She graduated in 1935 from Columbian High School, and retired from the Seneca County Probate Court.

Services will take place at 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home in Tiffin, with the Rev. Larry P. Smith officiating. An Eastern Star Service will be held at 10:45 a.m., prior to services. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.

Visitation is one hour prior to services, Thursday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Washington Street United Methodist Church and/or Tiffin-Seneca Public Library.

Dorcas E. Hossler
Step-mother of local residents

Dorcas E. Hossler, 76, of Bowling Green, died Saturday, May 26, 2001, in Fostoria City Hospital.

She was born June 30, 1924, in Convoy, Ohio, to Kenneth A. and Eleanor E. Wyandt. Her father is deceased, and her mother survives in Bowling Green. Her husband, Donald F. Hossler survives in Bowling Green.

Survivors also include: a son, David Snyder of Bowling Green; a daughter, Denise Rine of Flint, Mich., a brother, Herbert Wyandt of Waterville; a sister, Ruth Isaacson of Germantown, Md., three step-sons, Don Meyer of Portage, Ted Meyer of Monroe, Mich., and Dale Meyer of Westerville; three step-daughters, Donna Hawblitz, Carol Adams, and Connie Blaser, all of Bloomville; five grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, and nine step-great-grandchildren.

Also deceased include: former husbands, Wilbur A. Snyder and Frederick O. Meyer.

Mrs. Hossler was a 46 year member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and The Silvers, St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Rochester for 30 years, member of the choir and Sunday School teacher, a member of the Jolly Ridger Farm Bureau Council and a 4-H advisor. She retired as a supervisor for the Wood County Nursing Home.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Bowling Green, with the Rev. Dale Schaefer officiating. Burial will be in Fish cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at Dunn Funeral Home in Bowling Green.

Patricia L. Norviel
Tiffin Jr. Home Kid

Patricia L. Norviel, 78, of Bellefontaine, died at 10:41 p.m., Sunday, May 27, 2001, in the emergency room of Mary Rutan Hospital.

She was born on April 7, 1923, in Waylon, Ky., to Charlie and Margaret Turner. Both are deceased. Her husband, Harrison Norviel survives.

Survivors include: a son, Vic Norviel of Bellefontaine; two daughters, Beverly "Susie" Reed and Connie Thomas, both of Bellefontaine; a brother, Glen Turner of Upper Sandusky, three sisters, Martie Sizemore of Ala., Mattie Kenner of Fla., and Verlin Kenner of Toledo; 13 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-step-granddaughter.

Deceased is a son, Dickie Lee Norviel, five brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Norviel was a homemaker and was raised at the Junior Home in Tiffin.

Graveside services will take place at 1 p.m., Thursday, at Huntsville cemetery with the Rev. Barry Baughman officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Van Horn Funeral Home in Lakeview.

There will be no visitation.

Patricia Lyn Leitenberger
Daughter of Tiffin Residents

Patricia Lyn Leitenberger, was stillborn on Tuesday, May 29, 2001, in Fremont Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include her parents, Albert and Carolyn (Mueller) Leitenberger, and a brother, Nicholas Leitenberger, all of 113 Douglas St., in Tiffin; paternal grandparents, Albert and Lillie Leitenberger of Shelby; maternal grandparents, Ollie and Pat Snedegar of Lexington, Ky., and the late Robert J. Mueller; paternal great-grandmother, Katherine Leitenberger of Mansfield; and maternal great-grandmother, Rose Mueller of Lexington, Ky.

Services will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home in Tiffin with Father Edward Littelman officiating. Burial, at a later date, will be in Calvary cemetery in Lexington, Ky.

Visitation is 9:30-11a.m., prior to the service, Saturday, at the funeral home.

Walter 'Butch' Clabaugh Jr.
Fremont resident

Walter "Butch" Clabaugh, Jr., 54, of S. CR 232 in Fremont, died Monday, May 28, 2001 in Countryside Continuing Care Center.

He was born June 18, 1946, in Fremont, to Walter and Virginia (Runion) Clabaugh. They are deceased.

Survivors include: two brothers, Willie and Dennis Clabaugh, both of Fremont; and three sisters, Freda Bliss of Fremont, Joyce Finley of Detroit, and Esther Eichelberger of Springfield.

Mr. Clabaugh was employed at Dayton Marine, where he worked as an extruder operator for 17 years, until 1981.

He graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1964. He enjoyed racing and antiques.

Services will take place at 2 p.m., Friday, at Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home, 425 E. State St., in Fremont. The Rev. David Martin will be the officiant. Interment will be in Bakertown cemetery in Clyde.

Visitation is 7-9 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital.

Bertha M. Stull
Lifetime Bettsville resident

Bertha M. Stull, 79, died at 4:50 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2001, at the Autumwood Care Center of Tiffin.

Arrangements are pending at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

William Wicker
Husband of Junior Home Kid

William Wicker, husband of Alma Keaton who was a former Junior Home Kid, recently died. There is no further information available at this time.

Robert E. Prenzlin
Retired Autolite employee

Robert E. Prenzlin, 75, of North Union St., Fostoria, died at 5 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2001 at St. Catherine's Care Center in Fostoria. He was born Feb. 11, 1926 in Kansas to John and Clara (Shultz) Prenzlin. On Sept. 9, 1950 he married Greta M. House, and she survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Steve Prenzlin and Dallas "Joe" Prater Jr., both of Fostoria; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Davidson of Upper Sandusky; a brother, Carl Prenzlin of Findlay; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Deceased are: a son, Michael Prenzlin; a daughter, Ann Prenzlin; three brothers, Johnnie, Wayne and Warren Prenzlin; and two sisters, Zenith Flagg and Etta Myers.

Mr. Prenzlin graduated from Montgomery High School in 1944. He retired in 1984 as a machine operator at Autolite (now Honeywell) with over 30 years of service. He is a U.S. Army veteran serving in WW II. A member of Fostoria American Legion and Moose Lodge.

The Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at Knollcrest Garden near Arcadia, military honors will be conducted by the Joint Service Group of Fostoria.

There are no visitation hours scheduled.

Memorials may be made to Prenzlin Family c/o the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria.
