Yvonne L. Main
Sycamore resident

Yvonne L. Main, 89, of Sycamore, died at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, in Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.

She was born in Wyandot County, Jan. 21, 1912, to Claire and Ida M. (Aldersperger) Shireman. She married W. Donald Main on May 1, 1937, and he preceded her in death Oct. 7, 1973.

Survivors include: four sons, Donald E. Main of Onekama, Mich., Ross A. Main of Fostoria, Kenneth A. Main of Bucyrus and Robert K. Main of Peru, Ill; a daughter, Betty Main of Prattville, Ala.; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her death were her parents and two brothers, Calvin and Cletus Shireman.

Mrs. Main attended Our Masters Chapel in Benton and was a former member of Upper Sandusky's Moose Lodge. She was a McCutchenville High School graduate and enjoyed crocheting and woodworking.

Graveside services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at Brokensword cemetery in Crawford County.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to Good Shephard Home, Fostoria, in care of Walton-Moore Funeral Home, 201 W. Saffel Ave., Sycamore, OH 44882-0356.

Saloma K. Frank
Upper Sandusky resident

Saloma K. Frank, 71, of Upper Sandusky, died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001, in Fairhaven Health Care Community in Upper Sandusky.

She was born Jan. 22, 1930, in Columbus to Albert J. and Hazel D. (Stephen) Frank. Both are deceased.

A twin sister, Shirley A. Frank of Upper Sandusky, survives.

Miss Frank graduated from the former Salem High School in 1948 and was a cashier at the former Lyon Grocery Store in Upper Sandusky. She worked for 32 years at the City Loan and Savings in Upper Sandusky and retired as a bookkeeper for the former Kohler Chrysler Plymouth in Upper Sandusky.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and the Women's Guild. She volunteered at Fairhaven Home, St. Paul's Food Pantry and the former Christian Thrift Shop. She enjoyed traveling, vegetable and flower gardening and exhibiting at the Wyandot County Fair for more than 50 years.

Services will take place at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Charles Preston officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitation is one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Trinity UCC, the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Wyandot Co., c/o Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home, P.O. Box 246, Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.

Barbara R. Wilhelm
Fremont resident

Barbara R. Wilhelm, 50, of Fremont, died at 2:10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001. in Flower Hospital in Sylvania.

She was born May 1, 1951, in Fremont to Philbert and Frances (Sloma) Reiter and they are deceased. She married Paul Wilhelm Aug. 28, 1971, at St. Joseph Church in Fremont, and he survives.

Survivors also include: two sons, Jason of Columbus and Justin of Akron; a daughter, Jennifer Wilhelm of Fremont; three sisters, Dorothy Borys and Marsha Grate, both of Fremont, and Mary Lou Rooser of Lambertville, Mich.; nine brothers, Paul, Leonard "Knobby", William, Vincent, Stephen, Lawrence, and Philbert "Dale" Reiter, all of Fremont, LaMar Reiter of Clyde and Alfred Reiter of Helena.

A brother, Donald Reiter, is deceased.

Mrs. Wilhelm was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 1970 Ross High School graduate. She was a beautician at the Freedom Hair Design and was active in Relay for Life.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home in Fremont.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont.

Lucile M. Peters
Upper Sandusky resident

Lucile M. Peters, 91, formerly of Carey and Upper Sandusky, died at 12:55 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2001 in Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.

She was born Aug. 7, 1909, in Sycamore to Benjamin B. and Floral (Goodman) DeLaplane. She married Charles F. Peters on July 18, 1935, and he died May 16, 1969.

Survivors include: a son, Ronald Peters of Lake Elsinora, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Kathleen) Smith of Nevada, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A brother, Glen DeLaplane, is deceased.

Mrs. Peters retired as a cook from Wyandot Memorial Hospital and Wyandot County Nursing Home, both in Upper Sandusky.

She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky and the Rebekah Lodge in Findlay.

Service time has been changed to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey. The Rev. Cathy Wirth will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery in Carey.

Visitation is 2-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Yvonne L. Main
Sycamore resident

Yvonne L. Main, 89, of Sycamore, died at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, in Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.

Kenneth L. Eckhardt
New Riegel resident

Kenneth L. Eckhardt, 68, of New Riegel, died Wednesday, June 27, 2001 at his residence.

He was born Jan. 16, 1933 in Toledo to the late Harry and Geneva (Stinehart) Eckhardt.

Survivors include: a son, John Eckhardt of Findlay; three brothers, Paul of Bradner, Jack of Stuart, Fla., and Robert of Leander, Texas, and one grandchild.

A sister, Marjorie Leimgruber is deceased.

Mr. Eckhardt retired from Budd Co. in North Baltimore.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Wood County Memory Gardens cemetery in Bowling Green, with the Rev. Rolland Stinehart officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to House of Prayer Church in Bradner.

Arrangements are being made by Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne.

Awilda M. Faber
Tiffin resident

Awilda M. Faber, 73, of 4914 TR 132, died at 1:12 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2001 in an auto accident on CR 6 in Tiffin.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A complete obituary will follow.

Arrangements are being made by Turner-Engle Funeral Home in Tiffin.

Florence K. Meacham
Bellevue resident

Florence K. Meacham, 81, of Bellevue, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001 at her residence.

She was born Nov. 18, 1919 in Bellevue to the late Guy P. and Jessie I. (Swartz) Koon. She married William B. Meacham on Jan. 8, 1937. He died April 29, 1981.

Survivors include: a son, Thomas Meacham of Bellevue; two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Marcia) Sberna and Mrs. Joseph (Tonya) Frailey, both of Bellevue; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Meacham was a 1937 Bellevue H. S. graduate and a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She was a 57 year member of E. O. Merry Chapter of Eastern Star and manager for Bellevue Area Chamber of Commerce and bookkeeper at Bill Garlic Chevrolet and Leonard's Pharmacy.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Auxter Funeral Home in Bellevue. The Rev. David Wietelmann will be the officiant. Interment will take place in York Chapel cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, Fremont Memorial Hospice, Bellevue Hospital Foundation, or Kathy Ramon Foundation.

Henry W. Smith
Native of Tiffin

Henry Winfield Smith Jr., 88, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., died July 31, 2001.

He was born July 23, 1913, in Tiffin to Henry Winfield and Ida May (Witter) Smith. He is survived by his wife, Florida, whom he married Jan. 13, 1935.

Surviving also are two sons, Henry Winfield (Wynn) Smith III of Toccoa, Ga., and Gerald Wayne "Jerry" Smith of Alpharetta, Ga.; three grandchildren; and a sister, Natalie Guttman of Pensacola.

Mr. Smith went to Pensacola in 1934 as part of the management team opening J.J. Newberry's Department Store. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific as a Conbat Stevedore in CB Division 1036 and the 27th Special Construction Battalion U.S.N. He was a past U.S. Postal Service representative for Northwest Florida, Southern Mississippi and Louisiana. One of his responsibilities was to introduce and promote the use of ZIP Codes to Pensacola businesses. He was also past president of Pensacola Local 551 Post Office Clerks Union.

Mr. Smith was active in Lions Club International. He was past president of the Ensley Lions Club and charter president of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Lions Club.

As a member of the Masonic Lodge 15, he became a member of the York Rite, Scottish Rite and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He also worked as a volunteer in the Boy Scouts of America as a cubmaster and committeeman for Pack 15, P.K. Young School and Committee Chairman Troop 10, First Baptist Church.

While working with the Cub Scouts he was instrumental in establishing and was the general chairman for the first Cubmobile Derby in Pensacola. He was also the general chairman for the first Soapbox Derby in Pensacola. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Pensacola.

Services were Aug. 2 at the Waters and Hibbert Funeral Home, Pensacola. Internment was at the Barrancus National cemetery, N.A.S. Pensacola, with Masonic funeral and military honors.

Alwilda M. Faber
Faber's Tax Service owner

Alwilda M. Faber, 73, of 4914 TR 132, Tiffin, died at 1:12 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2001 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on CR 6 in Tiffin.

She was born Nov. 11, 1927 in Tiffin to the late Marley J. and Marie C. (Kapper) Miller. She married Arthur "Art" Faber Aug. 30, 1947 in Covington, Ky. He died Oct. 1, 2000.

Survivors include two sons, Gary A. Faber of Berkeley, Calif., and William T. Faber of Tiffin; three daughters, Mrs. John (Patricia) Craig of Green Springs, Mrs. David (Carolyn) Taylor of Kendallville, Ind., and Mrs. Timothy (Pamela) Kramer of Melmore; brothers, Earl and Eugene "Buck" Miller, both of Tiffin; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Deceased include: a son, Roger Faber; and four brothers, Albert, Robert, Ralph, and Buddy Miller (in infancy).

Mrs. Faber was owner of Faber's Tax Service for 20 years; employed at G. E. in Tiffin from 1967-1978; and employed with Mary Roberts Tax Service for 28 years.

She was a 1945 graduate of Tiffin Columbian H. S. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, New Riegel Moose Lodge, Tiffin Eagles, and she enjoyed bowling, bingo, and camping.

The Rev. Scott Hayward will officiate services at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Turner-Engle Funeral Home in Tiffin. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the Women of the Moose Auxiliary will conduct a 2 p.m. memorial service.

Memorials may be made to: The Kramer Children Fund, in care of First Bank of Ohio or Turner-Engle F. H., both in Tiffin, and/or a charity of the donor's choice.

Michael Eugene Frankart
Church and Dwight Employee

Michael "Mike" Eugene Frankart, 44, of 2477 N. SR 635, Tiffin, died at 11:49 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, in the Intensive Care Unit at Blanchard Valley Health Center in Findlay.

He was born March 21, 1957 in Fostoria to Paul and Dorothy (Collet) Frankart and they survive in Fostoria. He married Dorothy Brickner Nov. 28, 1981 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Bascom and she survives.

Survivors also include: a son, Adam Frankart and a daughter, Ashley Frankart, both at home in Tiffin; two brothers, Kenneth and Joseph Frankart, both of Bascom; and two sisters, Virginia Ekleberry and Irene Karhoff, both of Findlay.

Mr. Ekleberry graduated from Hopewell-Loudon H. S. in 1975 and attended Terra Community College for one year. He worked for Ohio Farmers from 1975-1987, and worked for Church and Dwight in Old Fort from 1987-2001 as a machine adjuster.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Bascom, a volunteer with the Bascom Joint Fire District since 1982, and helped with the summer softball program in Bascom. His hobbies included, snowmobiling and gardening.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Bascom. Father Arthur Niewiadomski will be the officiant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Friday with family present from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home in Tiffin. A wake service will take place at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the children of Michael Frankart, Ashley and Adam Frankart, in care of Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883.

Robert F. Fleck
Retired Chief Dairy technician

Robert F. Fleck, 86, of 315 Second St., Upper Sandusky, died at 3:17 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2001 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. He was born Mar. 27, 1915 to August R. and Hazel B. (Case) Fleck.

Surviving include: a sister Mary Jane Fleck of Upper Sandusky; three nieces, Sandra Clinger of Upper Sandusky, Connie Young and Kathy Hart, both of Bucyrus; three great nephews; three great nieces and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a brother, John E. Fleck.

Mr. Fleck lived his entire life in Upper Sandusky. He retired as a laboratory technician in 1982 after 40 years with the former Chief Dairy in Upper Sandusky. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, feeding the birds, theater and music.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church with The Rev. James Holmer officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter Catholic cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitation hours are from 6-8 p.m., tonight, at the Bringman Clark and Co. Funeral Home. Biblical Wake Scripture will be at 7:45 p.m. tonight.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church; Wyandot County Home Health and/or to the charity of the donor's choice.
