Marian F. Weise
Green Springs resident

Marian F. (Zeitz) Weise, 80, a resident at Elmwood Nursing Home, Green Springs, died Tuesday, August 14, 2001 in the nursing home.

She was born April 22, 1921 in Fremont to Rolly A. and Kathryn C. (Donohue) Zeitz. She married Joseph E. Weise in Fremont in 1941. He died in 1981.

Survivors include: a daughter, Kathryn Edwards of Huntington Beach, Calif., a sister, Barbara Masters of Winter Haven, Fla., and two grandchildren.

Deceased include her parents, two brothers, Jerry and Lee Zeitz; and a sister, Betty Ball.

Mrs. Weise worked as a waitress at the Hotel Fremont, Granada Gardens and the Willows in Toledo until she retired in 1981. She attended Fremont Ross High School.

Graveside services will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oakwood cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are being handled by Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home, 425 E. State Street in Fremont.

Merle E. Pemberton
Heidelberg College graduate

Merle E. Pemberton, 83, of Louisiana and formerly of Findlay, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001 at St. Francis Hospital in Louisiana.

He was born Sept. 21, 1917 in Clinton, Tenn., to Daniel R. and Edith (Young) Pemberton. Both are deceased. He married Shirley Tracy on Dec. 28, 1946 in Grace United Methodist Church in Carey. She died Dec. 12, 1989. He later married Vivian Whitney on June 29, 1995 and she survives in West Monroe, La.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Randy (Judy) Donald of Weston and Mrs. Pat (Annmaire) McClellan of McAllen, Texas, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.

Deceased include a sister, Marjorie Cece.

Mr. Pemberton was employed at Marathon Oil in Findlay and retired in 1978 after 25 years of employment. He was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Findlay, a member of Masonic Bodies in McAllen, Texas, a 1953 graduate of Heidelberg College and a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II serving in Italy and North Africa.

Graveside services will take place at 3 p.m. Thursday at Spring Grove cemetery in Carey with Pastor James R. Sharrett officiating.

Memorials may be made to Bridge Hospice in care of Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 West Findlay St., Carey, Ohio 43316.

John George Terry
General Electric retiree

John George Terry, 71, of 65 Kensington Ave., died at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001 at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

He was born Nov. 2, 1929 in Tiffin to John and Cecilia (Klingshirn) Terry. They are deceased. He married Rosette Martin on Nov. 22, 1952 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and she survives.

Survivors also include: a son, Robert L. Terry, of Tiffin; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Diane) Innes of Columbus; two brothers, George and Constantine "Gus" Terry, both of Tiffin; four sisters, Mrs. Harold (Katherine) Barnhart, Mrs. Fred (Anthonia) Larick, Mrs. Karl (Josephine) Harper, all of Tiffin, and Mrs. Roxy (Elaine) Reedy of Cincinnati; and two grandchildren.

A brother, James Terry, is deceased.

Mr. Terry served in the U. S. Navy from 1948 to 1952 and retired from the General Electric Company in Tiffin after 32 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tiffin and the American Legion Post 169 in Tiffin.

A private mass will be Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Steve Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery in Tiffin with Military Rites performed by the United Veterans Council.

A private family viewing will be at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home in Tiffin.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883.

Robert M. Bowman
Clyde Whirlpool retiree

Robert M. Bowman, 81, of Wilmington and formerly of Clyde, died Tuesday, August, 14, 2001 at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington.

He was born April 3, 1920 in Conemauah, Penn. to the late Floyd and Louise (Bracken) Bowman. His wife, Kathleen and he married on Dec. 15, 1938, and she survives.

Survivors also include: four sons, Robert of Elmore, David of North Ft. Myers, Fla., Jerry of Clarksville and Bill of Cabot, Ariz., a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Peggy) Webb of Sellersburg, Ind., a brother, Donald Bowman of Strongstown, Penn., two sisters, Naomi Taylor of Canton and Mrs. Charlie (Ruth) Reed of Baltimore, Md., 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Deceased include: a brother, Dwight Bowman.

Mr. Bowman was a World War II Army Veteran and was employed as a Die Setter at Whirlpool Corp., Clyde Division and retired in 1981. He was a member of the Fremont Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 712.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Clyde with Military Honors conducted by the U. S. Army, Clyde American Legion and Clyde VFW.

Visitation is 3 p.m until the time of services at 5 p.m. Friday, at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South St. in Wilmington.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. The Foos-Klein Funeral Home in Clyde is in charge of local arrangements.

Anna M. Litton-Carper
St. Francis Home retiree

Anna Myrtle Litton-Carper, 75, formerly of Carey, died at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001 Fostoria Community Hospital in Fostoria.

She was born Jan. 22, 1926 in Johnson County, Ky., to the late Harlen and Samantha (May) Conley. She married Ernest Litton on Feb. 17, 1942. He died Aug. 12, 1964. She later married William J. Carper on March 9, 1980. He died in Dec. 1980.

Survivors include: two sons, Sam Litton of Bowling Green and Larry Litton of Fostoria; four daughters, Mrs. Dale (Sue) Stevens of McCutchenville, Mrs. Ron (Faye) Park of Fostoria, Mrs. Steve (Judy) Frederick and Ms. Cathy Dolch, both of Carey; a sister, Beulan Salyer of Carey; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Deceased include: eight brothers and four sisters.

Mrs. Litton-Carper retired as a Nurse's Aide from the St. Francis Home in Tiffin. She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Carey and the Women's Auxiliary of the church.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Carey and will be officiated by the Rev. Brent Layne. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery in Carey.

Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Friday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey, and 10-11 a. m. prior to services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the First Freewill Baptist Church in Carey or Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc., P. O. Box 151200, San Rafael, Calif. 94915-1200.

Angela Oddo
Bellevue homemaker

Angela Oddo, 92, of Golden Rod Drive, Bellevue, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 12, 1909, in Militello, Sicily, to Salvatore and Rosa (Amata) Oddo. She married Antonino Oddo in April 1933, and he died July 31, 2000.

Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Carmelo (Antonia "Nina") Sberna of Bellevue; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Theresa Piscitello of Maple Heights.

Also preceding her in death were: two infant children; three brothers, Carl of Bellevue, and Antonino and Benedetto; and a sister, Antonina Lupica.

She was educated in Sicily and was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Bellevue, Daughters of Isabella and Altar Rosary Society.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bellevue. Interment will be in the Chapel of Resurrection at the Meadow Green Mausoleum, Huron.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Auxter Funeral Home, Bellevue, with a Rosary recited at 3:30 p.m.

Stuart N. Lampe
Tiffin resident's brother

Stuart N. Lampe, 80, of 10838 8 Corner School House Road, Magnolia, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at his residence.

He was the son of Arthur and Carrie (Hedges) Lampe.

Survivors include: his wife, Marie Robinette, of 53 years; two sons, Arthur and Ronald; two daughters, Linda Salom and Diane DeWeese; a brother, Carl of Tiffin; and a sister, Doris Garland of Keene, N.H.

Preceding him in death were: an infant son, Alan; a daughter, Patricia Lampe; and four brothers, Oscar, Paul, Fred and Harold.

Mr. Lampe served in the U.S. Air Force as navigator in B-24 bombers during World War II.

H. Edward Emerine
Porcelain Products retiree

H. Edward Emerine, 61, of 279 Glenn Ave., Carey, died at 8:25 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, in Wyandot Manor, Upper Sandusky.

He was born June 8, 1940, in Carey to Henry and Ella Elizabeth (Long) Emerine.

Survivors include: two half-brothers, William Spoon and Donald Spoon, both of Upper Sandusky; a nephew, Patrick Campbell; and a niece, Elizabeth Luman.

His parents and a sister, Mary Ellen Campbell, preceded him in death.

Mr. Emerine retired from Porcelain Products in Carey in 1979 and was a caregiver and a member of The Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, with the Rev. Benjamin Knopp, OFM Conv., officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Carey.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday in the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, where a Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County, in care of Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey, OH 43316-1169.

Alfonso (Frank) Sanchez
Findlay resident

Word has been received that Alfonso (Frank) Sanchez, 75, died at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, in Fox Run, Findlay.

He was born March 7, 1926. He married Mary Ann Haubert of Tiffin and they were divorced.

He is survived by: two sons, Roger of Republic and Frank David of Tiffin; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Alfred of Findlay and Clem of Florida.

A sister, Lup Baylif, is deceased.

Private services will be at Memory Gardens, Tiffin, today.

Hazel Mardell Rine
Green Springs resident

Hazel Mardell Rine, 87, of East Co. Rd. 32, Green Springs, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, in Arbors of Assisted Living, Clyde.

She was born Nov. 21, 1913, in Scipio Siding to Roscoe Samuel and Stella Catherine (Good) Decker. She married Clarence Oliver Rine in May of 1936 and he survives along with a son, Jack of Green Springs; a daughter, Susan Rine of Sandusky; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were: four brothers, Donald, Ellsworth, Nevin and Howard Decker; and two sisters, Dorothy White and Nina Mesenberg.

She was a 1931 graduate of Thompson High School and a graduate from Sandusky Business College. She worked as a clerk at Thompson School from 1961-1969 and assistant clerk for Bellevue Schools from 1969-1981.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Zion United Church of Christ, Fireside, with the Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. Interment will be in Fireside cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday in the Auxter Funeral Home, Bellevue.

Memorials may be made to Zion UCC Memorial Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Judy K. Monnett
Tiffin resident

Judy K. Monnett, 53, of 520 Miami St., died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Monnett was born Nov. 7, 1947, in Greenup County, Ky., to Johnie and Lillie (Jacobs) Kilburn. She married John Monnett who survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Matthew R. (Kim) Gase and Mrs. John M. (Johna L.) Smith both of Tiffin; four grandchildren; three brothers, David, Ray and Gene all of Wurtland, Ky.; and two sisters, Mrs. Stanley (Patty) Gillum of Wurtland, Ky., and Mrs. Don (Yvonne) Kirk of Ashland, Ky.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers, Issac, Joe and Johnie Jr.; and a granddaughter, Loren Kay Gase.

She was a self-employed housekeeper; enjoyed walking, window shopping, bowling, and especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.

A private family funeral service will be at a later date and there will be no calling hours.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 613 Main St., Suite B, Findlay, OH 45840.

The Foos-Klein Funeral Home, Clyde, is in charge of the arrangements.

Charles Tallman
Former Bloomville resident

Charles Tallman, 76, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, in Sierra Vista, Ariz.,

Mr. Tallman was born July 21, 1925, in Bloomville.

He his survived by his niece, Jeannie Montgomery of Ohio; adopted children, Roberta and Magic Terrel of Douglas, Ariz.; one grandchild, Kiyum Tallman; and his close friend, Robert Castillo of Phoenix.

He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and a pharmacist at Phoenix Memorial Hospital for over 30 years.

Graveside funeral services will be Sunday in Phoenix at Beth Israel cemetery.

Arrangements are by Sinai Mortuary, Phoenix, Ariz.
