Visitation for Mr. Jimmy R. Deel, of Green Springs, who died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, will take place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Engle-Young Funeral Home in Green Springs.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Engle-Young Funeral Home. Burial will be in Green Springs cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Red Cross for New York City Disaster Relief Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.

Robert L. Chapman
Brother of area residents

Word has been received that Pastor Robert Lee Chapman, 75, of Florida, and formerly of Arcadia, died Sept. 5, 2001.

He was born March 12, 1926, in Tiffin.

Pastor Chapman was pastor of the Church of the Brethren in Fostoria and he retired in 1986. He was a 1982 graduate of the Liberty Baptist College in Virginia, and attended Southwest Baptist College in Texas. He received an honorary doctorate degree in divinity from Kent Theological Seminary in Baton Rouge, La., and is listed in the "Who's Who" of Religious Personalities in the United States for 1989, 1992 and 1993.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was awarded two Purple Hearts for injuries received in service.

Survivors include: two sons, Robert L. Chapman of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Thomas Chapman of Lakeland, Fla., a daughter, Mrs. John D. IV (Paula) Henley of Bokeelia; five brothers, Walter Chapman of Findlay, Kenneth and Paul Chapman of Tiffin, Richard Chapman of Clyde, and Ross Chapman of Upper Sandusky; four sisters, Frances Kieffer of Fostoria, Mary Waggonblast of Bucyrus, Betty Travis of Marion, and Gladys Morrison of Mount Vernon; 11 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

Services took place on Sept. 8 at the Ponger-Kays-Grady Chapel in Arcadia with burial in Oak Ridge cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fla., 34238.

Martha E. Daniel
Tiffin resident

Martha E. Daniel, 88, of 2976 W. US 224, died at 4:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2001 in the Emergenc Room of Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

She was born June 11, 1913 in Huron County, Ohio to the late Amel J. and Rose O. (Wise) Schank. She married Roman J. Daniel on June 11, 1932, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He preceded her in death March 26, 1988.

Survivors include a son, Allan Daniel of Bunker Hill, Ill., a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Diana) Kelbley of Tiffin; four brothers, Leon and Leonard Schank of Republic, and Ralph and Arthur Schank, both of Tiffin; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony, Herbert, and Clarence Schank; and one sister, Loretta Dendinger.

The Rev. James Say will officiate services at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin. A wake service will take place 15 minutes prior to services. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home in Tiffin, with a Rosary Wake Service at 8:45 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, The American Heart Assoc., or a charity of the donor's choice in care of Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883.

Marjorie M. Morey
Upper Sandusky resident

Marjorie Mary Morey, 81, of Upper Sandusky, died at 10:25 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.

She was born Feb. 25, 1920, in Archbold, Ohio to the late Emanuel and Mary (Gushman) Short. She married Robert A. Morey on April 6, 1952, in Jonesville, Michigan and he survives.

Survivors also include: two daughters, Joan K. Holiday of Scottville, Mich., and Pauline M. Church of Angola, Ind., two sisters, Lorna Nisely of Boca Raton, Fla., and Lottie Martin of Tecumseh, Mich., six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Maurice and Hubert; and a sister, Julia.

Mrs. Morey and her husband owned and operated the Montgomery Ward Catalog Agency in Upper Sandusky from 1965-1985. She was affiliated with the First Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky and was a 1938 graduate of Archbold High School.

She was an auxiliary member of the Hillsdale, Mich. American Legion Post 53 for 39 years.

She enjoyed golfing, fishing, and baking.

Graveside services will take place at noon on Friday at Oak Grove cemetery in Hillsdale, Michigan. The Rev. Charles Steward will be the officiant.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice, or to the Wyandot County Home Health Agency in care of Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home, P. O. Box 246, Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.

Malcolm V. Ford
Tiffin resident

Graveside services for Malcolm V. "Mac" Ford, 80, of Tiffin, who died Sept. 16, 2001, will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Ridge cemetery (Egbert's) The reader will be Henry Martin.

Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

Hoffman-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pierre R. Wilken
World War II Veteran

Pierre "Pete" R. Wilken, 77, of Clyde, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2001 at Bellevue Hospital.

He was born Nov. 9, 1924, in Sandusky to Carl C. and Minnie A. (Grahl) Wilken, and both are deceased. He married Elnora E. Papenfuse on Feb. 8, 1948, and she survives.

Survivors also include: five sons, Robert P. Wilken of Seattle, Wash., Mark Wilken of Phoenix, Ariz., Steven Wilken of Cincinnati, Joseph Wilken of Clyde, and Arthur Wilken of Sandusky; three daughters, Sr. Ann Pierre (Carol Ann) Wilken of the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Louis, Mo., Susan Pfleger of Bryan, Ohio, and Mary Jan Wilken of Seattle, Wash., two brothers, Carl A. Wilken of Sandusky, and James Wilken of Plymouth; and 13 grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine McKitrick.

Mr. Wilken was a World War II Paratrooper and received the Purple Heart in the U. S. Army. He was a 1946 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was employed at Great-Lakes Towing as a Tug Boat operator, Wilken's Market in Clyde and worked 20 years at Barr Rubber, Inc. in Sandusky and retired in 1985.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clyde; the Clyde American Legion; Clyde VFW and DAV in Fremont.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clyde. The Reverends Dennis Schroeder and Ray Fisher will be the officiants. Military graveside services will be provided by the Clyde American Legion and Clyde VFW in the parish cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde, with a Christian Wake Service at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's or St. Francis Health Care Center in Green Springs, Ohio.

J. Kenneth Ault
Father of area residents

J. Kenneth Ault, 91, of Wayne, died at 8:30 p.m. Sept. 17, 2001, at St. Catherine's Care Center in Fostoria.

He was born Jan. 12, 1910, in Bradner to the late William and Della (Sanderson) Ault. He married Thelma E. Rothenbuhler on Feb. 27, 1932, in Paulding, Ohio and she died on Feb. 4, 1973. He later married Grace E. Fite in October of 1983, in Findlay and she died in June of 1997.

Survivors include: a son, Kenneth Eugene Ault of Wayne; four daughters, Lois Lippert of Wayne, Irene Althaus of Tiffin, Sharon Fisher of Orlando, Fla., and Bonnie Sue Everding of Fostoria; two stepsons, Lloyd and John Fite of Bowling Green; two stepdaughters, Carlene McCurdy of Portage and Jean Ladd of Bowling Green; a brother, William "Bud" Ault of Lexington, Ohio; a sister, Pauline White of Columbus; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren; and 27 step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death also include: four brothers, Harry Ault, and John, Charles, and Guy Ault who died in childhood; and two sisters, Hope Cottrell and Leota Musser.

Mr. Ault retired from Ottawa Rubber in Bradner, Ohio as a Mill Operator after 20 years.

Services will take place at 1 p.m. Friday at Barndt Funeral Home, 121 W. South Street in Wayne. The Reverend Thomas McCurdy will be the officiant.

Burial will be in Bradner cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Friends of the Library at Wayne Public Library; Wayne Volunteer Fire Dept., or a charity of the donor's choice.

Jean F. Beeson
Atlas retiree

Mr. Jean F. Beeson, 72, of Fostoria, died at 8:40 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at his residence.

He was born in Bloomdale to Dellis L. and Florence (Pelton) Beeson, and both are deceased. He married Emma Walters on July 10, 1954, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria, and she survives.

Survivors also include: five daughters, Mrs. Richard (Diane) Warriner of Bremerton, Washington, Mrs. Michael (Jeannette) Lee of Fostoria, Mrs. Tony (Sandy) McKinnon of Maumee, Mrs. Robert (Linda) Wagner of Fostoria, and Mrs. Steve (Laurie) Kinn of Findlay; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Beeson of Florida and Jim Beeson of Fostoria; and a sister, Mrs. Richard (Mary Ann) Ritzler-Lowmaster of Fostoria.

Mr. Beeson retired in 1988 from Atlas, Inc. as a finish grinder. He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria; a member of the Third Degree Knight of Columbus Council 1197 in Fostoria; and a 1947 graduate of Fostoria High School. He was a U. S. Navy veteran during the Korean War.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria. Military graveside services, conducted by the United Veterans of Fostoria, will take place in Knollcrest Gardens.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Wendelin Schools or Bridge Hospice.

Elaine E. Quaintance
Clyde resident

Elaine E. Quaintance, 77, of Clyde, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at her residence following a brief illness.

She was born Nov. 26, 1923, in Fostoria to the late Frank and Helen (Bullock) Sprow. She married Paul F. Quaintance on June 15, 1941, in Woodville, Ohio. He died on May 24, 1997.

Survivors include: four sons, Robert Quaintance of Springfield, Fred Quaintance of Green Springs, Thomas Quaintance of Kansas, Ohio, and David Quaintance of Clyde; five daughters, Shirley Kuhn of Clyde, Sharon McDonald of Fremont, Susan Lutz of Tiffin, Mary Abernathy of Lyman, S. C., and Carolyn Barny of Fremont; a brother Don Sprow of Harrisburg, Pa., four sisters, Vonnie Hemminger of Toledo, Jean Giesler of Florida, Shirley Engle of Wayne, Ohio, and Ginny Sherk of Arizona; 22 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

A brother, Ronald Sprow, and two great-grandchildren are deceased.

Mrs. Quanitance was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Green Springs and the Clyde Grandmothers Club. She was a graduate of Woodville High School.

The Rev. Jared Williams will officiate services at 11 a.m. Friday at Foos-Klein Funeral Home, 318 S. Main St. in Clyde. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Clyde.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital, 430 S. Main St., Clyde, Ohio 43410, or a charity of the donor's choice.

Richard E. Mingus
Armstrong Air Conditioning retiree

Richard E. Mingus, 63, of Bellevue, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, in Bellevue Hospital.

He was born Dec. 27, 1937, in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Amos G. Mingus and Esther (Kegley) Mingus. She survives in Bellevue. He married Karen Ward on Sept. 18, 1969, and she died May 15, 2000.

Survivors also include: four sons, Rick and Bobby Mingus, both of Portsmouth, Ohio, Pete Mingus of Detroit, Mich., and Brett Mingus of Bellevue; two daughters, Robin Reisenbeck of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Mrs. Frank (Ama Jo) Simpson of Portsmouth; a brother, Roy Mingus of Bellevue, and several grandchildren.

An infant sibling is deceased.

Mr. Mingus worked as a supervisor at Armstrong Air Conditioning in Bellevue since 1963 and he retired in 1989.

He was a member of the Bellevue Moose Lodge 238 where he had served as Governor and received the Pilgrim Degree in 1997. He was also a member of: the Bellevue American Legion; Bellevue VFW, the Bellevue Eagles and Club Amerital. He graduated in 1955 from East High School in Sciotoville.

Services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday at Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St. in Bellevue. The Rev. Louis Straub will officiate. Burial will be in Bellevue cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. The Bellevue Moose will conduct services at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Betty Jane Haslinger
Fremont resident

Betty Jane Haslinger, 57, of Fremont, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.

She was born May 3, 1944 in Fremont, to Robert and Edith (Rudicel) Roberts, Sr., and both are deceased. She married Thomas C. Haslinger and he survives.

Survivors also include: three sons, Mark LeJeune, Kirt Koble and Kraig Koble, all of Fremont; a daughter, Aimee LeJeune of Toledo; a brother, Robert Roberts, Jr., of Morehead City, N.C., two sisters, Mrs. Joanne Wise and Mrs. Linda Stuart, both of Clyde; and one grandchild.

Mrs. Haslinger was a 1962 Clyde High School graduate and was self-employed as a day-care operator.

The Rev. Gerry Gosnell will conduct services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home. Interment will be in Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde.

Visitation is 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Sandusky County Hospice, South Main St., Clyde, Ohio 43410.

Dennie L. Glover Sr.
Seneca Wire retiree

Dennie L. "Butch" Glover Sr., 59, of Fostoria died at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at Medical College of Ohio.

He was born July 1, 1942, in Fairmont, W. Va. to Clarence and Anna (Kirk) Glover. He married Ruby F. Mitchell on Sept. 7, 1962, in Fairmont, W. Va. and she survives in Fostoria.

Survivors also include: two sons, Dennie Glover, Jr. of Fostoria and James Glover of Tiffin; three daughters, Denna Yoder of Fairmont, W. Va., Anna Johnson of Bradner, and Genie Glover of Fostoria; four brothers, John Glover of Fostoria, Patsy Glover of Wheeling, W. Va., Eli Glover of Sommersville, W. Va., and Clarence Glover, Jr. of Farmington, W. Va., a sister, Virginia Perkins of Glenville, W. Va., 10 grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

His parents; three brothers, Jack, Leo and Augistine Glover, and a sister, Helen Glover, are deceased.

Mr. Glover retired in 1994 from Seneca Wire in Fostoria after 25 years of service. He was a U. S. Army veteran and a member of Dillon Road Baptist Church in Fostoria.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria with the Rev. Allen Minton officiating.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
