Elsie M. Schubert
Former Fostoria teacher

Elsie M. Schubert, 92, of 725 Columbus Ave., Fostoria, died at 10:40 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, in the Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.

Mrs. Schubert was born in Carey to Lewis and Lillian (Reynolds) Criger on Jan. 8, 1909. She married Herbert E. Schubert on June 19, 1937, in Carey. He died Dec. 4, 1983.

Survivors include: a son, Terry L. of Olmsted Falls; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A son, Larry E.; two brothers, Earl and Alvie Criger; and a sister, Ethyl Baughman, are deceased.

She graduated from Carey High School and The Ohio State University, where she received a bachelor's degree in education. She completed her graduate study at Bowling Green State University. She retired in 1973 after teaching elementary for 30 years in the Fostoria City Schools; she also taught in Carey and Risingsun Schools. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Fostoria and named Business Woman of the Year in 1977 by the Business and Professional Women's Club in Fostoria.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Branson J. Hawkes officiating. Interment will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, P.O. Box 182039, Dept. 013, Columbus, OH 43218-2039.

Raymond Leroy Plott
Wyandot Dolomite retiree

Raymond Leroy Plott, 64, of 349 Frederick St., Carey, died at 8:23 a.m., Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, in the Wyandot Memorial Hospital emergency room.

Mr. Plott was born June 25, 1937, in Carey to Raymond L. and Dorcas (Ritter) Plott. He married Viola Marie Wohlgamuth and she survives along with: two sons, Raymond F. of Toledo and David E. of Carey; three daughters, Anna D. Plott of North Baltimore, Mrs. Michael (Susan M.) Jeffrey of Carey and Elizabeth K. Plott of Tiffin; five grandchildren; and a sister, Estella Steve of Upper Sandusky.

His parents; a daughter, Debbra M. Plott; and a sister, Marilyn Barnett, are deceased.

Mr. Plott retired in 2000 as a crusher operator at Wyandot Dolomite Co. in Carey and was affiliated with the Grace United Methodist Church, Carey.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Grace United Methodist Church, Carey, with the Rev. James Sharrett officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.

Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Sunday in the Stombaugh Memorial Funeral Home, Carey; and 1-2 p.m. Monday at the church.

Oscar H. Linstedt
Highway department retiree

Oscar H. Linstedt, 87, of 439 S. Hazel St., Upper Sandusky, died at 12:20 p.m., Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, in Wyandot Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 2, 1913, in Cardington to Henry and Alice (Beckel) Linstedt. He married Edna Mae Hacker Feb. 24, 1936, in Delaware. She died April 27, 1982.

Survivors include: two daughters, Patricia A. Thiel of Upper Sandusky and Julianna M. Metz of Marion; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Altha Kramer of Florida, Frances Fosnaugh of California and Lula Levings of Cardington.

Three brothers, Wilbert, Harold and Richard; and a sister, Florence Walter, are deceased.

He retired in 1978 from the Ohio Department of Highways; also a self-employed farmer in Cardington; a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the Wyandot County Farm Bureau.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, in the Bringman Clark and Co. Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, with Sr. Barbara Jean Miller officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic cemetery, Upper Sandusky.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to American Red Cross or St. Peter Catholic Church, c/o Bringman Clark and Co. Funeral Home, P.O. Box 246, Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.

Mary A. Graham
Tiffin resident

A wake service for Mary A. Graham, who died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, will be at 8:15 p.m. today at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, followed by a Catholic Knights of Ohio wake service at 8:30 p.m.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today.

Virgil Rosengarten
Tiffin resident

Virgil Rosengarten, 82, of 245 Gross St., Tiffin, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, in St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.

Services will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church in Tiffin.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home in Tiffin.

Carol C. Essex
Fostoria resident

Carol C. Essex, 58, of Fostoria, died at 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 18, 1943, to Donald S. Fouts and Barbara E. (Crailey) Stewart. Both are deceased. She married Wayne R. Essex on Jan. 18, 1975, in Fostoria, and he survives in Fostoria.

Survivors also include: a three sons, Richard L. Fouts of Fostoria, James E. Essex Jr., of Columbia, TN., and James E. Essex of Fostoria; a daughter, Iva M. Krupp of Fostoria; a brother, Donald L. Fouts of Mebane, NC., four sisters, Paula L. Hoffman of Bascom, Linda M. Slick of Fostoria, Judy A. Kauffman of Alvada, and Delthia L. Tyson of Fostoria; four grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death include: a step-father, Lester C. Stewart, and a sister, Peggy E. Fouts.

Mrs. Essex was a beautician and was owner and operator of Peggy's Beauty Salon in Fostoria for 30 years. She also managed Hardees in Fostoria for three years and worked at Hisan in Findlay for five years.

She was a 1961 graduate of New Riegel High School and a 1962 graduate of Ohio State School of Cosmetology. She was a member of Eagles Aerie 430 in Fostoria, an avid Bingo player and an Elvis enthusiast.

The Rev. Robert Carpenter will officiate services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria. Interment will be in Scott Trinity cemetery in Risingsun.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where an Eagles Memorial Services will take place at 6 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross; Bridge Hospice Care, or the American Cancer Society.

Robert L. Riddle
Conrail retiree

Robert L. Riddle, 80, of Kenton, formerly of Upper Sandusky, died at 7:40 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, in Grant Riverside Hospital in Columbus.

He was born May 21, 1921, in Marion to J. Glenn and Clara (Ralstin) Riddle. Both are deceased. He married Edna M. Haberman on July 3, 1941, in Angola, Ind., and she survives.

Survivors also include a daughter, Judy Dorsey of Kenton; a sister, Marilyn Heth of Marion; a brother, Keith Riddle of Seabring, Fla., three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death includes a brother, John Morgan Riddle.

Mr. Riddle was a 1939 graduate of Marion Harding High School. He worked for Conrail as a conductor for 27 years and retired in 1983. He was the former owner and operator of Isaly's franchise on N. Sandusky Ave., in Upper Sandusky from 1952 -1963.

He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served on the USS Horace A. Bass. He was a member of the American Legion Post 225; a Life Member of B.P.O.E. 83; a member of Warpole Masonic Lodge 176; McCutchen Chapter 96; Upper Sandusky Council 98; Marion Commandery; and the Aladdin Shrine. An O.S.U. Football and Cleveland Indians fan, Mr. Riddle enjoyed vacationing in Florida, golfing, boating, fishing, playing cards and reading.

The Rev. Charles Preston will officiate services at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery in Upper Sandusky, with Military Graveside Rites conducted by local Veterans Organizations.

Visitation is 4:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with an 8 p.m. Masonic Memorial service.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital in care of Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home, P.O. Box 246, Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.

Julia C. Teach
Attica resident

Julia C. Teach, 101, of Attica, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard.

She was born Nov. 1, 1899, in Republic to Edward and Katharine (Hoffman) Krombach. She married John W. Teach on June 19, 1920, in Tiffin and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Catherine) Auble of Republic and Mrs. Jessie Colich of Shreve, Ohio; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great- grandchildren.

Preceding her in death include her parents; a son, Fredric Teach; a daughter, June Karr; a grandson, Michael Colich; a brother, Fred Krombach; and a sister, Minnie Girton.

Mrs. Teach was a member of the First Baptist Church of Attica, the Ladies Missionary Society, the Attica American Legion Auxiliary 260 of Attica, Senior Citizens, 1917 Club and the Just Friends Club of Attica.

The Rev. Jim Hoffman will conduct graveside services at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Attica-Venice cemetery in Attica.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Attica EMS or to the Seneca East Public Library.

The Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home in Bloomville is in charge of arrangements.

Carol C. Essex

Carol C. Essex, 58, of Fostoria, died at 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at her residence.

Virgil Rosengarten
Retired Webster employee

Virgil Rosengarten, 82, of 245 Gross St., Tiffin, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

He was born July 15, 1919, in Putnam County, to Henry and Frances (Kreinbrink) Rosengarten. Both are deceased. He married Anna Louise Smith on Oct. 30, 1948, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin. She died June 23, 1992.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Mary) Shaffer and Mrs. Larry (Linda) Earl, both of Tiffin; five brothers, Gerald Rosengarten of Ottawa, Linus and Henry Rosengarten Jr., both of Leipsic, and James "Jack" and Bernard Rosengarten, both of Glandorf; and two grandchildren.

Five brothers, Arthur, Norman, Carl, Albert, and Thomas Rosengarten; and a sister, Marcella "Sally" Recker, are deceased.

Mr. Rosengarten attended Ottoville High School. He worked as a machinist at Webster Manufacturing in Tiffin and retired in 1985.

He was a member St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge 846 and Eagles Aerie 402.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday followed by mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin. The Rev. James K. Say will be the officiant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Allen Eiry Senior Center or a charity of the donor's choice.

Bonnie S. Allgyre
Sycamore resident

Bonnie S. Allgyre, 51, of Sycamore, died at 5:25 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

She was born Aug. 23, 1950, in Wyandot County, to Wayne A. and Anne (Kentfield) Holman. They are deceased. She married Charles R. Allgyre on March 23, 1977, and he survives.

Survivors also include: two sons, Albert J. Allgyre of Bucyrus and Dustin J. Allgyre, at home; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Rick (Rebecca) Hendrickson of Marion; three step-grandchildren; three brothers, Robert W. and Carl A. Holman, both of Sycamore, and Mark O. Holman of Tiffin; and a sister, Ms. Joan Holman of rural Sycamore.

A daughter, Amy L. Allgyre, in 1978; two brothers, Franklin and Gerald Holman; and a sister, Lois Ann Holman, are deceased.

Mrs. Allgyre worked as a press operator at Toledo Molding and Die Inc., Sycamore Plant. She was a 1968 Bloomville High School graduate. She enjoyed gardening and was of the Protestant faith. Services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore. Burial will be in Benton cemetery in Crawford County.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.

Lloyd E. Russell
Upper Sandusky resident

Lloyd E. Russell, 71, of Upper Sandusky, died at 10:55 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

He was born Oct. 10, 1929, in Crane Township, Wyandot County, to Charles O. and Catherine L. (Jones) Russell. Both are deceased. He married Martha L. Koehler on Aug. 10, 1957, in North Salem Lutheran Church in rural Upper Sandusky. She survives.

Survivors also include: a son, Kevin Russell of Upper Sandusky; five daughters, Mrs. Darrel (Mary) Bassinger of Pandora, Mrs. Peter (Kim) Diller of Gilboa, Mrs. Daniel (Karen) Fredritz of England, Mrs. Alan (Laura) Ferrell of Arlington and Mrs. David (Jan) Wenzinger of Carey; a sister, Mrs. Gerald (Mildred) Binau of Upper Sandusky; 23 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Three brothers, George, Charles and James; a sister, Margaret Ann Eyestone; and a grandson are deceased.

Mr. Russell had worked for Galen Kauble Masonry and Plastering; Swan Rubber of Carey; and Day Brook Corp. in Upper Sandusky. He retired in 1990 after 24 years of employment with Komatsu-Dresser-Galion and Bucyrus.

He graduated in 1949 from Upper Sandusky High School and was a member of the North Salem Lutheran Church in rural Upper Sandusky, where he was a former council member and played on the church's dart ball team.

As a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War, Mr. Russell received two Bronze Stars. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Carey, and enjoyed woodworking, reading and was an avid sports fan.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at North Salem Lutheran Church in rural Upper Sandusky. The Rev. Jack Moore will be the officiant. Military graveside rite will be conducted by local veterans organizations in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Bringman-Clark and Co. Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to North Salem Lutheran Church; Upper Sandusky Community Library; or the Upper Sandusky High School Athletic Department.
