Louis Picciuto

Louis Picciuto, 74, of Riverview Michigan, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001.

He was born Jan. 25, 1927, and is survived by his wife, Jean Picciuto; three daughters, Donna, Patty and Mary; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, Tony Picciuto of Wyandotte, Mich; two sisters, Marie Lauterbur of Tiffin and Mary Puellela of Toledo.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Services will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rocks Church in Michigan.

Visitation is 2-8:30 p.m. today at Dobsean Funeral Home in Flat Rock, Michigan.

Merle E. Pelfree

Merle E. Pelfree, 74, of Kokomo, Ind., died at 9:05 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at his home.

He was born Oct. 5, 1927, in Bloomington, Ind., to Hershal and Flossie (Deming) Pelfree-Balanger. He married Ruby L. Smith on April 26, 1952, in Tiffin and she survives.

Survivors also include sons, Robert Pelfree of Tiffin, William Pelfree of Walton, Ind., Dennis, Merle A. and Daniel Pelfree, all of Kokomo, Ind., daughters, Mrs. Dan (Brenda) Marcum of Jasper, Ind., Mrs. Richard (Esther) Westenbarger of Fostoria, Mrs. James (Rebecca) Matthews of Glasgow, Ky., and Patricia Pelfree of Kokomo, Ind., 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ellers Mortuary, 725 S. Main St., Kokomo, Ind. followed by burial at Galveston cemetery in Galveston, Ind.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the mortuary in Galveston, Ind.

James O. Rohrbacher

James O. "Woody" Rohrbacher, 61, of Clyde died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at Firelands Community Hospital in Sandusky following a lengthy illness.

He was born July 9, 1940, in Sandusky. He married Emily Gay McElfresh on Sept. 1, 1973, and she survives.

Survivors also include: his mother, Dorothy Rohrbacher Binder and stepfather, Joseph Binder, of Fremont; three sons, James O. and Kevin Rohrbacher, both of Sandusky, and Christopher Rohrbacher of Clyde; a brother, Joseph Binder Jr. of Gibsonburg; a sister, Carol Smith of Fremont and nine grandchildren.

Mr. Rohrbacher was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at the Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St. in Bellevue. Military graveside services will be provided by the Clyde VFW and Clyde American Legion in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Clyde.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Shirley M. Fowler

Shirley M. Houdeshell-Fowler, 62, formerly of Carey, died at 10:28 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center in Findlay.

She was born May 7, 1939, in Carey to the late Delmar R. and Wanda J. (Keckler) Plott. She was married to James Pence, Don Houdeshell, and later, Samuel Fowler, who survives in Findlay.

Survivors also include: two sons, Conrad "Rod" Pence of Klamath Falls, Oregon and Robert E. Houdeshell of Sharonville; two stepchildren, Sammy Fowler of Maggie Valley, N.C., and E. Rose Copner of Michigan City, Ind., a sister, Flossie N. Burrill of Spokane, Wash., three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and nine step-great grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery in Carey.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Wilfred J. Steyer

Word has been received of the death of Wilfred J. Steyer, 86, of Delphos, who died at 8:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, at Paradise Oaks Nursing Home in Cloverdale.

He was born Sept. 14, 1915, in Tiffin to the late Albert and Frances (Lenhart) Steyer. He married Mary Wiechart on Sept. 10, 1949, and she survives.

Survivors also include: a son, Marvin Steyer of Ft. Wayne, Ind., three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Jean) Minnig of Van Wert, Lois Steyer and Mrs. David (Martha) Drerup of Delphos; three brothers, Leon and Donald Steyer of New Riegel and Norman Steyer of Fostoria; a sister, Mrs. Carl ( Pearl) Nye of Alvada; and nine grandchildren.

Services took place Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

The Kolkmeyer Helmkamp Orians Funeral Home in Delphos was in charge of arrangements.

Gladys I. Allen

Gladys Irene Allen, 86, of Carey died at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center in Findlay.

She was born April 19, 1915, in Baldwin, Va. to the late Jason and Julia (Jones) Leslie. She married Earl O'Brien and later divorced. She married Alfred Allen on Aug. 15, 1950. He died Oct. 6, 1970.

Survivors include: two sons, James L. O'Brien of Ronceverte, W. Va., and Charles W. "Bill" Allen of Carey; a sister, Jennie Ratlift of Rutland, Mass., seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be announced at a later date at Beard-Nash cemetery of Pence Springs, W. Va.

The Beach Funeral Home in Carey is in charge of arrangements.

Donald C. Coppes

Donald Curtis Coppes, 87, of Leesburg, Fla., died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, in Waterman Hospital in Eustis, Fla.

He was born June 9, 1914, in Van Buren to the late Daniel C. and Bessie L. (Baumgardner) Coppes. He married M. Marie Hobbs on June 3, 1974, in Clintwood, Va., and she survives in Leesburg, Fla.

Survivors include: two sons, Daniel Coppes of Tiffin and Donald David Coppes of Bowling Green; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Janellen) Swartz of Tontogany, Mrs. Carl (Marianne) Dewyer of Bowling Green, and Mrs. Steve (Liz) VanDenEynde of N. Baltimore; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Ronald (Donita) Butler of Lakeview, and Mrs. Bill (Jackie) Henry of Olathe, Kansas; two brothers Harry Coppes of N. Baltimore and Vernon Coppes of Fostoria; three sisters, Mrs. Paul (Mildred) Mathias of Kenosha, Wisc., Hazel Berry of Tiffin and Leota Marge King of N. Baltimore; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 5 step- grandchildren and 7 step- great-grandchildren.

Mr. Curtis was a World War II Veteran of the American Merchant Marines.

Services will take place at 1 p.m. Friday at Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria. Military graveside rites will be conducted by United Veterans of Fostoria in Knollcrest Gardens in Arcadia.

Visitation is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Margaret C. Brown

Margaret C. "Maggie" Brown, 78, of 295 Noble St. in Tiffin, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at her residence.

She was born Sept. 26, 1923, to the late Alva A. and Sarah A. (Bowersox) Burns. She married Howard W. Brown on March 23, 1961, in Auburn, Ind. and he is deceased.

Survivors include: two sons, Dennis W. Burns of Tiffin and Harlan K. Brown of Bryan, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. David (Sarah G.) Donna of Tiffin; three stepsons, David A. and Howard W. Brown, both of Defiance, and Timothy R. Brown of Harrisville, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Christine Silliman of Defiance; a brother, John C. Burns of Tiffin; two sisters, Mrs. Russell (Lois) Overmier of Tiffin and Mildred Drown of Green Springs; 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tiffin. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home in Tiffin.

Richard Vanwinkle

Richard Vanwinkle, 69, of Clyde, died at 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at Arbors at Clyde.

The Tidd Funeral Home in Hilliard is in charge of arranging services and burial.

Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home in Tiffin is in charge of local arrangements.

Ann M. Feasel

Ann M. Feasel, 80, 1152 E. CR 16, Tiffin, Ohio, died at her residence at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 23, 2001.

She was born March 26, 1921, in New Riegel, Ohio, to the late Alvin and Gertrude (Arend) Marks. On April 18, 1942, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, she married Samuel Feasel, who died Oct. 15, 1994.

Surviving are two sons, Robert A. Feasel and Gary L. Feasel, both of Tiffin; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Cheryl) Wilt of Tiffin; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Thomas and William Marks, also are deceased.

A homemaker, Mrs. Feasel was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday Oct. 26, 2001, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Msgr. Edward Dunn officiating. The rosary will be recited at the church at 10:45 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio.

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care, Tiffin, in care of Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.

Pauline M. Gase

Pauline M. Gase, 95, of St. Francis Ave. in Tiffin died at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at St. Francis Home in Tiffin.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Home Chapel in Tiffin.

Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home in Tiffin is in charge of arrangements.

Carol A. Fuchs

Carol A. Fuchs, 62, of Norwalk, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001.

She was born May 23, 1939, in Sandusky to the late John F. Warren, and Blanche (Hennis) Warren who survives in Sandusky.

Survivors also include: three sons, John Fuchs Jr., and Robert and Alan Fuchs, of Bellevue; a daughter, Tonya Fuchs of Bellevue; six brothers, John Warren of Castalia, Robert and Walter Warren of Bellevue, Kenneth Warren of Berlin Heights, and William and Richard Warren of Sandusky; three sisters, Mrs. Don (Jenny) Yontz of Sandusky, Mrs. Larry (Mary) Scott of Norwalk, and Mrs. David (Sandy) Todd of Sandusky; and five grandchildren.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Auxter Funeral Home in Bellevue. Burial will be in Fireside cemetery.

Visitation is 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

John E. Crum

John E. Crum, 81, 1961 W. CR 48, Tiffin, Ohio, died Thursday Oct. 25, 2001, in Autumnwood Care Center.

He was born Nov. 15, 1919, in Tiffin, at his same residence, to the late Herbert and Cora (McElheny) Crum. On April 8, 1945, in Trinity U.C.C., Tiffin, he married Joyce M. Seigley, who survives.

Also surviving are: three sons, Ronald J. and Sandra Crum, Russell J. Crum and Dennis E. and Joanne Crum, all of Tiffin; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Jayne E.) Whitesel of Junction City, Ohio and Mrs. Anthony (Jill M.) Ingram of Akron, Ohio; a sister, Eunice Jones of Tiffin; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A son, Douglas E. Crum; a brother, Herschel Crum and a great-grandchild, also are deceased.

A full time farmer, Mr. Crum also worked as a guard for General Electric, retiring in 1984.

He was a Hopewell Township Trustee for 40 years and a bus driver for Hopewell-Loudon School. He was a life-time member of the State of Ohio Township Trustees Association. In 1958 he was elected president of the Seneca County Association of Township Trustees and Clerks. He also was a member of Union United Church of Christ in Bascom.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 27, in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, with Pastor Jim Michaels officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Charles E. Dillery Sr.

Charles E. "Chuck" Dillery Sr., 53, of South Main Street, Fostoria, died at 12:50 a.m. Friday, October 26, 2001, at Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born June 13, 1948, in Findlay, to William A. and Roberta R. (Poston) Dillery. Both are deceased. He married Billie Jacobs in Fostoria on June 28, 1968, and she survives in Fostoria. Other survivors include: a son, Charles E. "C.J." Dillery Jr. of Albert Lea, Minn.; a daughter, Tammy Dillery of Fostoria; three grandchildren; a brother, Harold Dillery of Findlay; and a sister, Sharon Powell of Waterville.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria with burial at Knollcrest Gardens near Arcadia.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Harold Finsel

Harold Finsel, 87, of Tiffin, died at 12:52 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria.

James B. Brown

James B. Brown, 89, of 34 Crayon St., Tiffin, died at 10:10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2001, in Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Turner-Engle Funeral Home in Tiffin.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Raymond A. Derr

Raymond A. Derr, 75, of Republic died Monday, Oct. 29, 2001, in the Ruffing Care Center of Bloomville.

He was born Dec. 26, 1925, to the late Roscoe H. and Margaret C. (Dyer) Derr. He married Marian E. Scarbery on June 12, 1955, in Columbus and he survives.

Survivors also include: two sons, Mark R. Derr of Republic and Timothy J. Derr of Bellevue; a daughter, Mrs. Albert (Diane) Bye of Castalia; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home in Bloomville. Burial will be at Farewell Retreat cemetery in Republic.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
