Millie Rossow

Millie Rossow, 89, of Arcadia, Fla., formerly of Fostoria, died Oct. 25, 2001, in Arcadia, Fla.

She was born June 23, 1912, to the late Maximilian and Henrietta (Hoehler) Kaufeld. She married Carl Rossow. He is deceased.

There will be no services or visitations. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery in Fostoria.

Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria is in charge of arrangements.

Alan L. Folk

Alan L. Folk, 56, of Fostoria, died at 9:05 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at his home.

He was born June 18, 1945, in Fostoria to Ernest and Lillian (Reichert) Folk and they survive. He married Leona J. Waldron. They later divorced.

Survivors include: a son, Steven A. Folk of Fostoria; a daughter, Kristie L. Pohlman of Fostoria; two sisters, Diana Geiger of Lima and Clara Folk of Fostoria and a granddaughter.

Services will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial will be in Knollcrest cemetery near Arcadia.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Norma Jean Cook

Norma Jean Cook, 49, of Fremont, died at home Saturday evening, Nov. 3, 2001, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born March 11, 1952, in Welch, W. Va. to John H. and Mary (Christian) Lambert. They are deceased. She married Dilbert Cook at the former Memorial United Methodist Church in Fremont and he survives.

Survivors also include: a son, Nathaniel Cook of Toledo; a daughter, Melanie Frederick of Lindsey; three brothers, Isaac of Pulaski, Va., Howard of Bettsville and Ken of Fremont; four sisters, Shirley Pound of San Antonio, Texas, Elsie Gibson of Tiffin, Janet Duncan of Princeton, W.Va., and Thelma Beard of Fremont; and four grandchildren.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church in Fremont, where her body will lie in state one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery in Fremont.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Nopper-Karlovetz Mortuary in Fremont.

Franklin J. Stover

Franklin J. Stover, 81, of the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky and formerly of Sycamore died at 4:10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, South Campus in Sandusky.

He was born in Wyandot County to the late Frank and Cleo (Hill) Stover on Aug. 27, 1920. He married Peggy I. (Hushour) Stover on Jan. 2, 1948 and she survives.

Survivors also include: two sons, Richard A. Stover and Michael J. Stover, both of Bucyrus; six grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; six brothers, Robert and Kenneth Stover of Sycamore, Nelson and Donald Stover, both of Carey, Ronald Stover of Tiffin and Gerald Stover of Nevada; and two sisters, Mrs. Annabelle Hewlitt of Ft. Wayne, Ind. and Mrs. Marilyn Hughes of Columbus.

Mr. Stover was a World War II Veteran having served in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force.

Services will take place at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Sycamore American Legion Post 250 at Pleasant Ridge cemetery in Sycamore.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

John K. Estep

John K. Estep, 95, 651 S. CR 17, Tiffin, Ohio, died at 2 a.m. Nov. 5, 2001, at his residence.

He was born May 23, 1906, in Clinton Township, Ohio, to the late Robert and Blanche (Brock) Estep. His wife, Evelyn (Kiesel) Estep, whom he married Sept. 3, 1929, in the Old First English Lutheran Church, by Dr. Wayne O. Kantner, survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Kenneth J. and Marietta Estep of rural Tiffin, Ohio.

Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Walter, Paul and Wade Estep.

Mr. Estep was a retired farmer and a Shell Oil Co. employee 1926-1944, working in Tiffin, Toledo and other areas.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Tiffin; Clinton Township Trustees 1960-1980; Tiffin Lodge 77 Free and Accepted Masons for 65 years; Seneca Chapter 42; Clinton Council 47; DeMolay Commandery 9 and Zenobia Shrine-Tiffin.

A dedicated Republican, he started Clinton Volunteer Fire Department and served as a volunteer. He also was a Union Grange member; Charter member of Morrison Lake; a member of Seneca County Township Clerks Association and a member of the Seneca County Antique Farm Machinery Association.

A 1924 graduate of Columbian High School, he attended Tiffin University.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday Nov. 8, 2001, in Turner-Engle Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Culp officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Seneca County Cancer, St. John's United Church of Christ or the Shriner's Burn Hospital.

Gervase Ewald Evanoff

Gervase Ewald Evanoff, 96 years, of Toledo, formerly of Tiffin, died at 10 a.m. Saturday Nov. 3, 2001, in Waterford Commons Nursing Home, Toledo.

She was born Jan. 10, 1905, in Tiffin, Ohio, to the late William and Ida (Pirrung) Mayer. On Feb. 10, 1938, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, she married John E. Ewald and he died April 4, 1954. On May 3, 1989, in Christ The King Catholic Church, Toledo, she married Theodore Evanoff. He also is deceased.

Survivors include: a nephew, James and Barbara Mayer of Lambertville, Mich.; two nieces, Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Molchan of Temperance, Mich. and Mrs. George (Joyce) Schomer Sr. of South Yarmouth, Mass.; a half-brother, William and Faye Mayer of Fremont, Ohio; and a half-sister, Helen Fox of Fremont, Ohio.

Also preceding her in death was a brother, Gerald Mayer.

Mrs. Evanoff had worked for Wagner Insurance Agency, Tiffin, then moved to California for many years, then moved to Toledo.

She was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church, Toledo and formerly of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin.

She loved to dance and thought a great deal of her nieces, nephews and extended family.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday Nov. 8, 2001, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The rosary will be recited at the church at 10:45 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 or in care of Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (419) 447-3113.

Joan Nusbaum

Joan Nusbaum, 73, of 545 W. Market St., Tiffin, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at her home.

She was born Oct. 13, 1928, in Tiffin, to the late Ralph and Augusta (Johnson) Hausenfleck. She married Eldon Nusbaum on June 3, 1945, and he preceded her in death.

A sister Florence Wertz of Tiffin survives.

There will be no services or visitation.

Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home in Tiffin is in charge of arrangements.

John K. Estep

John M. Rymer

John M. Rymer, age 68, of 104 Beckwith Drive, Carey, died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center in Findlay, following a lengthy illness.

He was born Jan. 11, 1933, in Glenville, W.Va., to Conrad and Edna (Jarvis) Rymer and they are deceased. He married Betty J. Drake on Feb. 7, 1953 and she died Sept. 22, 1992. He is survived by a special longtime companion, Roberta Marshall.

Survivors also include: a son, John S. and wife, Jodi Rymer of Carey; two daughters, Pam and husband, Brad Ristas of Dublin, Ohio and Marsha and husband, Rick Enke of Carey; three sisters, Betty Bush of Daytona, Fla., Francis Smith of Elkview, W. Va., and Rita Vergamini of South Point, Ohio; seven grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.

Preceding him in death also include two infant sons.

Mr. Rymer was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 4th Infantry and was an avid fisherman.

Memberships included: American Legion, a retired Carey fireman and an original member of the Carey EMS.

He was affiliated with Grace United Methodist Church.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at Beach Funeral Home in Carey. The Rev. James Sharrett will be the officiant. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery with full military rites.

Visitation is 1-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to John M. Rymer memorial Scholarship Fund at Commercial Savings Bank, 128 S. Vance St., Carey, OH 43316.

Carmen Salazar

Carmen Salazar, 75, of St. Catherine Care Center, died at 8:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at the care center.

She was born March 11, 1926 to Manuel and Candelaria (Estrada) Santa Cruz, both are deceased. She married Juan Salazar on Nov. 24, 1950, in Findlay. He is deceased.

Survivors include: six sons, Adam Rosalas, John Salazar Jr., Victor Salazar, Sam Salazar, Marcos Salazar and Cory A. Salazar; two daughters, Maria Sulema Salazar-Hernandez and Maria Del Carmen Tripp; five brothers, Jose, Eloy, Gilbert and Roy Santa Cruz, all of Laredo, Texas, and Manuel Santa Cruz of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Belen Barrientos of Chicago, Maria Cer Da of Laredo, Texas, and Eva Aguilar of San Antonio, Texas; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens in Arcadia.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria.

Margery May Stoner

Margery "Margie" May Stoner, 73, of Fostoria, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Fostoria.

Arrangements are pending at Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria.

Margie Stoner

Margie Stoner, 73, of the Good Shepherd Home, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at the Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.

She was born Nov. 23, 1927 to Ralph and Ione (Ketcham) Stoner, both are deceased.

Two brothers, Richard E. and James H. Stover survive.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Nov. 12 at Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery in W. Millgrove.

Visitation is one hour prior to services on Monday.

Lilly A. Taylor

Lilly Avalon Taylor, three-week old daughter of Brian K. Conrad and Kristy A. Taylor, both of Clyde, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, in Bellevue Hospital.

She was born Oct. 11, 2001, in Fremont.

She is also survived by grandparents: Timothy and Joyce Taylor of Clyde and Kenneth and Brenda Guhn of Clyde; great-grandparents, Charles and Jeanette Hansen and Benjamin Taylor, all of Clyde.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Lay-Butternut Ridge cemetery in Clyde followed by interment.

Arrangements are under the care of Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde.

Laura V. Walling

Laura V. Walling, 92, of Swan Creek Retirement Village, Toledo, and formerly a Jr. Homekids graduate of Tiffin, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, in her residence.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Walling.

Survivors include a son, James A. Walling; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Wagner, Mrs. Len (Bea) Budzynski and Mrs. David (Marilyn) David Donahue; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Boyer VanWormer Scott Funeral Home, 5055 Secor Rd. (north of Laskey). Interment will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

Visitation is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home where Fort Industry Chapter 391 OES services will be at 7:30 p.m.
