Deanna (Downs) Stephens, 64, of 323 Northwest St., Bellevue, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, in the Arbors at Clyde.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Harris Funeral Home, Bellevue.

Evelyn D. 'Dude' Estep

Evelyn D. "Dude" Estep, 90, died Saturday Feb. 9, 2002, in the Autumnwood Care Center.

She was born Feb. 14, 1911, in Tiffin, Ohio, to the late David Samuel and Elizabeth Louise (Stagmyer) Kiesel. On Sept. 3, 1929, in the Old First Lutheran Church, she married John K. Estep, who is deceased.

Surviving are a son, Kenneth J. and Marietta Estep of Tiffin. A sister, Helen K. Smith, also is deceased.

Mrs. Estep,, who had lived in the Tiffin area all her life, had been employed at Hubach's Dairy. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Order of Eastern Star, Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Union Grange and a charter member of Morrison Lake.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday Feb. 13, in Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge cemetery.

Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ or the Alzheimer's Association.

Thomas Daniel Hall

Thomas Daniel Hall, 49, of 162 E. Main St., Norwalk, formerly of Carey, Ohio, died at 1:05 a.m. Saturday Feb. 9, 2002, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, Ohio.

He was born Aug. 7, 1952, in Findlay, Ohio, to Laurell E. (Dible) Frazer and James Hall, both of Carey. On Nov. 16, 1990, he married Janet Collins, and she survives.

Other survivors include: his step parents Richard Frazier and Nancy Hall, both of Carey, three children, Katherine, David and Andrew Hall, all at home; sisters and brothers, Mrs. Kristine Jones of Bedford, Pa., James (Jamie) Hall of Ada, Ohio, Jeffery Hall, John Hall and Mrs. Mary Holsinger, all of Carey.

A member of Local 42 pipe fitters and steam fitters in Norwalk, Mr. Hall was employed as a pipe fitter. He graduated from Bowling Green High School and Bowling Green State University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and the varsity football and wrestling teams. He was affiliated with Campus Crusade for Christ and was a member of the Norwalk Alliance Church, and Sons of the American Legion, Carey.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 12, in Grace United Methodist Church, Carey, with the Rev. James Sharrett and the Rev. Doug Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.

Visitation was Monday at the Beach Funeral Home, Carey.

Memorials may be made to the Education Scholarship Fund for Mr. Hall's children, in care of the Beach Funeral Home, 214 W. Findlay St., Carey, Ohio 43316-1106.

Kenneth Earl Lindsay

Kenneth Earl Lindsay, 90, of 369 W. Market St., Tiffin, died at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin. He was born in Tiffin Aug. 7, 1911, to the late Earl and Myrtle (Wilcox) Lindsay. On June 20, 1946, he married Adaline Lindsay and she is deceased.

He is survived by his special friends: Mr. and Mrs. Sam Neifer of Republic; Victor Dryfuse and Betty Jane Kepler, all of Tiffin; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lindsay was a lifelong resident of Tiffin who owned and operated G & L Oil in Tiffin.

He was a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church. Other memberships include: Life Member of Tiffin Elks Lodge #94; Life Member of Sandusky, Ohio Amvets Post #17; Social Member of Tiffin VFW #2858; Sandusky, Ohio American Legion Post #0083; and the last Charter Member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was also a 1929 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School.

Mr. Lindsay served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday and one hour before the service at Turner-Engle Funeral Home, Tiffin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tiffin Elks Club.

Justine A. McIntyre

Justine A. McIntyre, 84, died Sunday Feb. 10, 2002, in St. Francis Nursing Home, Tiffin, Ohio.

She was born Jan. 2, 1918, in Tiffin, to the late Joseph A. and Amelia (Ferro) Lofay. Her husband, Victor W. McIntyre, whom she married March 4, 1932, in Findlay, Ohio, died March 3, 1982.

Surviving are six sons, Charles McIntyre of Tiffin, Arthur McIntyre of Pinellas Park, FL, Joseph McIntyre of Bowling Green, Ohio, Robert McIntyre and Richard Sr. McIntyre both of Tiffin and Larry McIntyre of Ridgeland, SC; three daughters, Kathryn Cooper of Tiffin, Norma Costilla of Fremont, Ohio and Julie Klingshirn, also of Tiffin; 37 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Evyonne "Bonnie," two grandchildren, a great-grandchild; two brothers, Pete and Karl Lofay; and four sisters, Mary Kerschner, Anna Lofay, Vickie French and Amelie West.

A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mrs. McIntyre was a housewife. She had lived all her life in the Tiffin area.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday Feb. 13, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Frank Murd officiating. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to St. Francis Nursing Home or St. Mary's Church.

Jeffrey Todd Raitz

Jeffrey Todd Raitz, 38, formerly of Tiffin, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, in Mesquite, Texas. He was born in Tiffin March 3, 1963, to Norbert and Phyllis Raitz.

He is also survived by: his wife of five years, Kim; a son, Casey Todd; a daughter, Holly Elizabeth; two sisters, Mrs. Steve (Denise) Barncheau of Greenville, Texas and Mrs. Harry (Peggy) Yams of Dallas, Texas; grandmother, Treva Perkins of Tiffin; great-grandmother, Essie Perkins of Tiffin; nieces and nephews, Curtis, Paul and Ellyn Brancheau of Greenville, Texas and Eric Whipple of Mesquite, Texas; many loving aunts and uncles.

Mr. Raitz was a professional wrestler during the 80's and 90's with World Class Wrestling at the Dallas Sportatorium. Wrestling was still his passion long after he left the ring.

He was currently employed with Encompass Electrical Technologies in Dallas. Mr. Raitz was a member of Meadowcreek Community Church and a 1981 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School.

Services will be Wednesday at at Family Funeral Care Chapel, Mesquite, Texas.

Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today

Michael J. Bilger

Michael J. Bilger, 30, of 8581 CR 6, Bloomville, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at SR 19, Bloomville. He was born Aug. 13, 1971 in Galion.

He is survived by: his father, Dale W. Bilger of Bloomville; his mother, Carla Walters of Florida; step-mother, Melinda Bilger of Bloomville; two brothers, Bobby and Steve Bilger, both of Bloomville; and two sisters, Dana Hankins of Elkhart, Ind. and Sherry Powell of Caledonia.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman-Gottfried Funeral Home, Tiffin.

Angie Roberts

Angie Roberts, 90, formerly of 521 West St., Carey, died at 8:50 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, in Eaglewood Care Center, Carey. She was born in Morgan County, Ky. March 30, 1911, to the late Evert and Florence (Blevins) Smith. She married George A. Roberts on Dec. 9, 1928, and he is deceased.

Survivors include: a son, George "Bud" Roberts of Tiffin; three daughters, Emma Jean King of Carey, Florence Everhart and Ruth Clouse, both of Tiffin; a brother, Eli Smith of Tekonsha, Mich.; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home with the Rev. Brent Layne and the Rev. William Mahan officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.

Visitation is 2-9 p.m.Wednesday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.

Clifford Spradlin

Clifford Spradlin, 79, of 301 W. North St., Vanlue, died at 8:25 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, in Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.

She was born in Magoffin County, Ky. July 6, 1922, to Jim and Sissie (Fletcher) Spradlin, both of whom are deceased. He married Marvolene Stone April 16, 1940, in Ivyton, Ky. and she survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, Richard Spradlin of Findlay, Rick Spradlin and Ronald "Ray" Spradlin of Tiffin; a brother, Clinton Spradlin of Carey; a sister, Reva Risner of Walbridge; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Friar officiating. Interment will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.

Maude O. Dandurand

Maude O. Dandurand, 98, formerly of 59 E. Market St., Tiffin, Ohio, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at Elmwood Assisted Living at the Shawhan.

She was born Feb. 5, 1904, in Casey, Ill., to the late Curtis and Myrtle (Shoemaker) Boles. In 1927, in Atlanta, Ga., she married Alcide A. Dandurand. He preceded her in death Sept. 29, 1942.

Surviving are two sons, Richard T. (Barbara) Dandurand of Tiffin and Ronald A. (Donna) Dandurand of Amelia Island, Fla.; a daughter, Suzann C. Brown of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

A brother, Stanley Boles, also is deceased.

Mrs. Dandurand was owner of Boles-Dandurand Photo Studio and in later years, owner of Maude's Stable. She was a member of Soroptimist Club, Tiffin Women of the Moose, Tiffin Historical Society, Tiffin Women's Club and St. Mary Catholic Church.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, in St. Mary Church, with her grandson, the Rev. Michael G. Dandurand officiating. The rosary will be prayed at 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.

Visitation is 7-9 p.m. today at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care or St. Mary Church.

Jeffrey Todd Raitz

Jeffrey Todd Raitz, 38, formerly of Tiffin, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, in Mesquite, Texas. He was born in Tiffin March 3, 1963, to Norbert and Phyllis Raitz.

Betty J. Snelling

Betty J. Snelling, 69, of 8435 CR 31, Bettsville, died at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002. She was born in Hubell, W.Va. April 9, 1932, to Talmadge and Dellie (Cremeans) Porter, both of whom are deceased. On July 8, 1950, she married Harold A. Snelling in West Hamlin, W. Va., and he died Feb. 29, 1992.

She is survived by: two sons, (Charles) and Judy Snelling of Bettsville and (Robert) and Barbara Snelling of Lindsey; two daughters, Carl and (Linda) Wyant of Fremont and Peter and (Darlene) Green of Fostoria; two brothers, Calvin Porter of Branchland, W.Va., and Billy Ray Porter of Tiffin; two sisters, Alma Mae Beard of Tiffin and Barbara Ann Cooper of Branchland, W.Va.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were two brothers and a sister.

Mrs. Snelling was a homemaker who lived most of her life in the Seneca County area. She was a member of the Tiffin Freewill Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Turner-Engle Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Snelling and the Rev. Robert Snelling officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.

Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Turner-Engle Funeral Home, Tiffin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Dorothy M. Casebeer

Dorothy M. Casebeer, 81, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at the Morning Care Center, New Philadelphia. She was born March 6, 1920, to the late Marvin B. and Catherine (Shivers) Kuhn. On April 17, 1942, she married Charles D. Casebeer and he died May 20, 1975.

Survivors include: a daughter, Cathy Casebeer of New Philadelphia; two brothers, M. George Kuhn of Dewey, Ariz., and James Kuhn of Attica; a sister, Helen Coventry of New Philadelphia; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral was Monday, Feb. 11, 2002.

Leo W. Smith

Leo W. Smith, 80, of 127 S. Taft Ave., Fremont, died Monday morning, Feb. 11, 2002, in Fremont Memorial Hospital. He was born in Findlay, Aug. 26, 1921, to the late Leo and Helen (Ross) Smith. He married Clara Williams Aug. 10, 1942, in Fremont and she survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Jerry Smith and Mark Smith, both of Hermitage, Pa.; two daughters, Gini Berkowitz of Fremont and Pam Lankard of Columbus; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Smith was a veteran and served during World War II. From 1942-1943, he served with the Coast Guard and with the Navy 1943-1945. He served on the USS Hansford APA 106 during the surrender signing in Tokyo Bay.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home. Interment will be in Oakwood cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, Fremont.

James David Nelson

James David Nelson, 57, of 330 W. Lytle St., Fostoria, and formerly of Floyd County, Ky., died Monday morning, Feb. 11, 2002, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 5, 1945, in Williamson, W.Va., to the late James J. and Josephine (Goodman) Nelson. His wife, Patty (Prater) Nelson, survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: two sons, Johnny Poe and Harry Poe, both of Findlay; a daughter, Dava Nelson of Fostoria; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral service is 1 p.m. Friday at Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Ky. Burial will be in McGuire cemetery, Big Branch, Abbott, Ky., with the Rev. Andy Dillion officiating.

Visitation is after 3 p.m. today at Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home. Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, handled local arrangements.

David L. Cole

David L. Cole, 65, of 92 Haven Dr., West Melbourne, Fla., and formerly of Fostoria, died at 7:10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, in the Tandem Health Care, Melbourne, Fla.

He was born in Fostoria on Nov. 25, 1936, to Herbert Raymond and Esther U. (Moyer) Cole, who are both deceased. He married DeAnna DeMeritt Aug. 3, 1968, and she survives in Florida.

Also surviving are: a son, Mark Cole of West Melbourne, Fla.; and a brother, Roger R. Cole of Lynchburg, Va.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.

There will be no visitation.

The Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, is handling the arrangements.
