Dorothy I. Dillon

Dorothy I. Dillon, 89, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, in the Lacanada Care Center in Tucson, Ariz. She was formerly of Fostoria.

She was born Dec. 20, 1912, in Bloomdale to Irvin and Flo Amelia (Ditto) Markle. She married Carl S. Dillon Aug. 31, 1932, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., and he died June 14, 1953.

Survivors include: a son, Terry Dillon of Tucson, Ariz.; six daughters, Marjorie Smith of Tucson, Ariz., Marilyn Faust and Mrs. Don (Janice) Nelson of Fostoria, Mrs. Terry (Joan) Haughawout of Bloomdale, Mrs. William (Barbara) Walker of Findlay, and Mrs. Roy (Linda) Byrd of Middletown; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death was a son Eldon "Matt" Dillon.

A memorial service will be conducted in early March at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria.

Harold E. 'Gene' Moyer

Harold E. "Gene" Moyer, 71, of Nebo, Ill. and formerly of Bellevue, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, in Springfield, Ill.

He was born Sept. 14, 1930, in Bellevue to Donald C. and Ellen L. (Roynon) Moyer. He married Clarice Hire Sept. 9, 1950, and she survives.

Also surviving are: three sons, Bruce of Oskaloosa, Iowa, John of Dunkirk, Ind., and Rodger of Sturgis Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Kathleen) Anderson of Basin, Wy., and Mrs. Ronald (Rebecca) O'Brien of Sturgis, Mich.; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three brothers, Wayne of Magol, Ky., Kenneth of Bellevue, and Gerald of Republic; and a sister, Mrs. Roger (Janet) Russell of Bellevue.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Siebert Methodist Church, Bellevue, with interment in Bellevue cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, in the Auxter Funeral Home, Bellevue.

Eunice B. Huddle

Eunice B. Huddle, 97, formerly of 155 Cherry St., Tiffin, died at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, in Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky.

She was born May 26, 1904, in Hambleton, W.Va., to the late Joshua W. and Lila J. (McClure) Beale. On March 10, 1931, she married Harold E. Huddle, and he died April 23, 1986.

Survivors include: two sons, Robert M. Huddle of Dublin, Ohio, and John P. Huddle of St. Louis, Mo.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A brother, Robert W. Beale, and two sisters, Mary Seitz and Corinne Hartschuh, preceded her in death.

A retired rug weaver, Mrs. Huddle was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Tiffin, sang in the church choir for many years and was a member of the Kum-Join-Us Sunday School Class. She also attended the Plankton United Methodist Church and played the piano for many years.

A 1923 graduate of Lykens High School, she attended Tiffin Business University.

She and her twin sister Corinne enjoyed winning the Gold Medal for being the oldest twins at the Twinsburg, Ohio, celebration in 1995. She also farmed with her husband for 40 years south of Benton, Ohio.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore with the Rev. Gail Angel and the Rev. Kathy Wirth as officiants. Burial will follow in Rock Creek cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church or Fairhaven Community.

John Albert Maiberger

John Albert Maiberger, formerly of 25 Grandview Court, Tiffin, died Feb. 3, 2002, in Sun City West, Ariz., where he had resided since 1993.

Born in Tiffin to Ralph and Louise Maiberger on May 15, 1928, he is survived by his wife, Regina; two children, Catherine Neary of Evanston, Ill., and Philip Maiberger of Clemson, S.C.; and five grandchildren, Connor and Caitlin Neary and Andrew, Rachel and Hannah Maiberger. Three brothers also survive, Ralph of Palm Desert, Calif., Robert and Michael of Tiffin, as well as many nieces and nephews, including Thomas Maiberger, James Maiberger, Kevin Maiberger, Steven Maiberger and Leanne Smith of Tiffin.

John graduated from Calvert High School in 1946. He married Regina Gillig in 1950, and they celebrated their 51st anniversary last fall. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950-52. Upon returning to Tiffin in 1952, John joined his father and brothers as co-owner of Tiffin Paper Company (now TPC Food Service) for 38 years before retiring in 1990.

He was a former president and member of the Tiffin Serrra Club. John was co-founder and served on the board of the Tiffin Calvert Foundation from its inception through 1991. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Elks Lodge and Moose Club. He was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph's and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Churches.

In retirement, John enjoyed counted cross-stitching and was the first male member of the Creative Stitchery Club in Sun City West. He enjoyed playing golf, bocce and other sports and was an avid horse racing fan.

A funeral Mass was conducted Feb. 8 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sun City West. A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin on Feb. 23. The family will receive visitors in the rear of the church beginning at 10 a.m. A burial service at St. Joseph's cemetery will follow the Mass, weather permitting.

Memorials may be made to the Tiffin Calvert Foundation, St. Joseph Catholic Church and School or Hospice of Seneca County.

Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements.

Robert M. Schlick

Robert M. Schlick, 58, 24633 Gessner Road, North Olmsted, Ohio, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, in Cleveland.

He was born April 30, 1943, to the late William F. and Elizabeth (Conroy) Schlick.

He married Megan Bottle Dec. 24, 1971. She survives. Other survivors are: daughters, Elissa B. Schlick of New York and Anne C. Schlick of North Olmsted; a son, Daniel H. Schlick of Cleveland; a grandson, Tyler "Bud" Schlick; a brother, Jerry Schlick of Tiffin; and a sister, Mrs. Dennis (Marianne) Kirian of Toledo.

A brother, William A. Schlick, is deceased.

Mr. Schlick was a 1961 graduate of Calvert High School and a 1965 graduate of John Carroll University. He received a master's degree from Miami University of Ohio in 1966 and a doctorate from Cleveland Marshall School of Law in 1975.

He taught for 28 years at Cuyahoga Community College and was also an attorney.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday at Berry Funeral Home, 23040 Center Ridge Road, Westlake, Ohio.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday at All Saints Church, 7230 Columbia Road, Olmsted Falls, Ohio.

Memorials may be made to the church or Calvert High School.

Judson H. Rinebold

Judson H. Rinebold, 91, of 1185 Van Buren St., Fostoria, died at 7:10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, in Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born March 12, 1910, in Fostoria, to Wilbert and Carrie (Nusser) Rinebold. He married Mary L. Bauer on July 19, 1940, in Fostoria; and she died Nov. 23, 2001.

A son, Rodger of Cincinnati, survives.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, with burial in Fountain cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Wayne Walter Wilmoth

Wayne Walter Wilmoth, 59, of 822 McDougal St., Fostoria, died at 8:06 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at his residence.

He was born March 29, 1942, to Wayne and Josephine (Zimmer) Wilmoth, in St. Petersburg, Fla. He married Adelina (Lina) Martinez June 29, 1991, in Fostoria, and she survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: two sons, Michael and Eric Wilmoth of Toledo; four step-sons, Raul Hernandez Jr. of Ottawa, Reuben Hernandez of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Rudy Hernandez of Plantation, Fla., and Randy Hernandez of Eugene, Ore.; a daughter, Mrs. Tim (Laura) Mason of Sterling Heights, Mich.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Larry (Valerie) Blankenship and Tracy Hernandez of Columbus, and Tricia Hernandez of Fostoria; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; 15 step-grandchildren; a brother, Gary Wilmoth of Erie, Mich.; and three sisters, Mrs. Larry (Sandy) Kropaczewski of Ida, Mich., Mrs. Jim (Lillian) Binder of Cambden, Mich., and Mrs. Russ (Sue) Schwartz of Toledo.

He was a veteran of U.S. Marine Corps.

Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Wendelin Parish cemetery. Military funeral rites will be conducted by United Veterans of Fostoria.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, where Moose memorial services will be at 7 p.m. and a Christian wake service at 8:30 p.m.

Carl C. Koerner

Carl C. Koerner, 82, 7 W. Market St., Tiffin, Ohio, died at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday Feb. 20, 2002, at his daughter's residence in Bluffton, Ohio.

He was born April 12, 1919, in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Karl W.and Magdalene (Knoll) Koerner. On May 10, 1944, in Springfield, Ohio, he married his wife of 58 years, Gertrude (Cochran) Koerner. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Alexander G. Koerner of Harrod, Ohio; two daughters, Connie L. Koerner of Bluffton, Ohio and Teresa R. Koerner of Tiffin; a brother, George Koerner of Springfield; a sister, Mary Ridgeway, also of Springfield; and two grandchildren, Josh Steinmetz of Tiffin and Emily Krabach of Bluffton.

A 1937 graduate of the Springfield, Ohio, High School, Mr. Koerner retired as a tool maker after 36 years of service at the National Machinery Company, Tiffin. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Tiffin; Quarter Century Club, the American Legion Post 888, Tiffin Tennis Association and the Tiffin Rifle Club and was a Master Gardener through the Ohio State University Extension Office.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, as a staff sergeant in the 905th Air Engineer Squadron of the 487th Service Group. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday Feb. 23, in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio (419) 447-3113, with the Rev. David Culp officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Master Gardeners of Seneca County, in care of Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Albert J. Thomas

Albert J. Thomas, 105, formerly of Perrysburg Road, Fostoria, died at 2:38 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 20, 2002, in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home. Fostoria, where he resided.

He was born May 17, 1896, in Hancock County, to the late James and Eliza (Grant) Thomas. On May 2, 1922, in Findlay, he married Mattie M. Hopkins. She died June 16, 1968.

Surviving are a son, Junior R. Thomas of Clyde; two daughters, Florence Burgbacher and Bernita Hakes, both of Fostoria; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Thomas was a World War I U.S. Army veteran of the 37th Buckeye Division.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Arcadia cemetery, where the Joint Veteran Group of Fostoria will conduct military honors.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Virginia Lee Tackett

Virginia Lee Tackett, 68, of 228 Clay St., Carey, died at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday Feb. 20, 2002, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 4, 1933, in Riceville-Johnson County, Ky., to the late Lee and Pearl (Hackworth) Caudill. On Oct. 13, 1956, she married Kenneth Tackett, who survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Jesse Tackett of Upper Sandusky and James Tackett of Carey; a daughter, Mrs. Brent (Jennifer) Layne of Marion; six grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Caudill of Findlay; and five sisters, Goldie Kleinmark, Mrs. Dwight (Bonnie) Caudill, Sharon Yingling and Mrs. Gary (Linda) Groves, all of Carey and Mrs. Ted (Clara) Wickard of McCook, NE.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the First Freewill Baptist Church, Carey. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.

Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Friday at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.

Elgin Bayes

Elgin Bayes, 79, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 20, 2002, at his residence at 7895 CR 59, Carey.

He was born May 5, 1922, in Johnson County, Ky., to the late Chaley "Charles" and Dixie (Litton) Bayes. On March 1, 1947, he married Mary A. Heilman, and their were later divorced. On June 29, 1963, he married Sandra (Bauer) Billock. She survives.

Survivors also include: five sons, Danny and Roger Bayes, both of Carey, David and Christopher Bayes, both of Fostoria and Douglas Bayes of Florida; a daughter, Jennifer Mohr of Carey; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two step grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Bayes of Carey and Steven Bays of Orangevale, Calif.; and four sisters, Mrs. Joe (Virginia) Earhart and Mary Dennis, both of Marion, Mrs. Everett (Shirley) Hushour and Trudy Togrul, both of Tiffin.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey, with full military graveside services.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Donald Ray Johnson

Retired Dana Corp. executive, Donald Ray Johnson, 77, passed away Feb. 20, 2002, after a short illness.

In addition to his wife Virginia of 56 years, he is survived by daughters, Donna Edelman and husband Richard of Tiffin, Ohio and Elizabeth Van Keuren of Copperas Cove, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Van Keuren of Dallas, Christine Wall of Waco, Texas, Ray and Ryan Edelman of Tiffin; and a brother, Carl Johnson of Oklahoma City, OK. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Claude "Johnny," Earl, Pete and Jack Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday Feb. 23, at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe St., Sylvania, Ohio.

Memorials may be made to the Tiffin YMCA for their use in assisting children.

Alan J. 'AJ' Rinker

Alan J. "AJ" Rinker, 29, of Nevada, Ohio, died at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 20, 2002, in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

He was born March 26, 1972, in Tiffin, Ohio. His mother and step father, Diane and J.P. Morgan of Nevada, Ohio and father and step mother, Robert and Cathy Rinker of Tiffin, survive. He was married at one time to Roberta Lohr and then to Dawn Clark.

Other survivors include: two sons, Joseph and Seth Rinker; a daughter, Brittany Rinker; a brother, Gerald (and his wife Kim) Rinker of Plymouth, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Skip ( Angelia) Russell of Lima, Ohio and Tina Rinker of Nevada, Ohio; nieces, Elizabeth and Kara and nephews, Victor and Josh; and his maternal grandfather, Harold Fatzinger of Tiffin.

Mr. Rinker, a 1990 graduate of Wynford High School, worked for Ranger Trucking in Norwalk, Ohio. He attended Nevada Methodist Church and Trinity Evangelical in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. An avid bowler, AJ enjoyed all types of auto racing and was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan. He also enjoyed playing softball.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday Feb. 22, in the Lucas Funeral Home, Nevada, Ohio with the Rev. Rob Turner officiating. Burial will be in Nevada cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today Feb. 22, at the Lucas Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice, in care of Lucas Funeral Home, PO Box 98, Nevada, Ohio 44849.

Laura E. Tibboles

Laura E. Tibboles, 89, of Bellevue, died on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, MI. She was born Feb. 10, 1913 to William and Anna (Farley) Gallup. On Feb. 21, 1941 she married Alexander Tibboles, he died Aug. 31, 1966.

Surviving include: a son, Charles Tibboles of Bellevue; a daughter, Mrs. Ochs of St. Joseph, MI.; a sister, Winifred Miller of Bellingham, WA.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2002 at First United Methodist Church in Bellevue. Burial will be at Bellevue cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 3-5 p.m. at the Auxter Funeral Home.

Daryl Perkins

Word has been received of the death of Daryl Perkins, 54, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Tiffin, who died Wednesday Feb. 13, 2002.

He was born Feb. 27, 1947, to Treva (Miller) Perkins of 41 Walker St., and the late Roy Perkins.

Survivors also include: a son, Michael Perkins, a daughter, Mrs. David (Tammy) Cootes, both of Tiffin; five grandchildren; grandmother, Mrs. Essie Bright; five sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Dolores) Agerter, Mrs. Joseph (Ruth) Rospert, Mrs. Charles (Shirley) Kear, Mrs. Howard (Sharon) O'Nan, all of Tiffin and Mrs. Norbert (Phyllis) Raitz of Mesquite, Texas; and two brothers, Marvin Perkins of Sandia Park, N.M. and Raymond Perkins, also of Tiffin.

Services were Feb. 16, 2002.
