Joseph A. Walk
(1910 - 2004)

SHERWOOD - Joseph A. Walk, 93, of Sherwood, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, at Defiance Regional Medical Center, Defiance.
Born Sept. 4, 1910, at Sherwood, he was the son of Mary (Minck)and Jacob Walk.
A lifelong farmer, he enjoyed guns, hunting and listening to baseball on the radio.
Surviving are three nephews, John Walk of Sherwood, Ted (and wife, Carolyn) Walk of Sherwood and Jerry (Mary Ellen) Walk of Antwerp.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Walk.
Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. in the Burr Funeral Home and Crematory, Sherwood. A funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Stephens Catholic Church, The Bend, with Father Dave Tscherne to officiate. Burial will follow at Stephens Catholic Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Stephens Catholic Church.

Susan Virginia Hachtel
(1944 - 2004)

LANDER, Wyo. -ÊSusan Virginia Hachtel, 60, formerly of West Unity, Ohio, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 1, 2004, at her residence in Lander, Wyo.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, on July 3, 1944, she was the daughter of Virginia (Edson) and Reuben Hachtel. Surviving are a daughter, Jennie Hachtel of Lander; a granddaughter, Kelsie of Lander; a sister, Mrs. Ron (Jennie) Borton of Defiance, Ohio; two brothers, John Hachtel of Middleton, Tenn., and George "Hap" Hachtel of Mount Enterprise, Texas ; and four nieces and for nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services are scheduled for Sept. 11 in Landon. Preferred memorials are to Hospice.

Martha "Marcy" Bauer
(1935 - 2004)

Martha "Marcy" Bauer, 69, of Bryan, died Wednesday evening, Sept. 1, 2004, at Harborside Healthcare Northwestern Ohio-Bryan.
Born Feb. 22, 1935, at Defiance County, to Minnie (Schroeder) and Milton Haase, she married Richard Bauer on June 4, 1988, and he survives.
A graduate of Sherwood High School, a housewife and long-time hostess at KaufmanÕs in Bryan, she was also a member of the Esther Circle at Trinity Lutheran Church and the Bryan Women of the Moose.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a sister, Mrs. Wallace (Dorothy) Force of Wabash, Ind.; several nieces and a nephew; four stepchildren; several stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Bill and Russell Haase.
Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home-Bryan. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Bryan, with the Rev. Richard Buchsteiner to officiate. Burial will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery-Bryan.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church-Bryan.
Additional visitation for Martha Bauer will be held on Saturday, one hour before funeral services, from 10-11 a.m., in the Trinity Lutheran Church. Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie J. "Margie" Blom

Marjorie J. "Margie" Blom, 69, of Bryan, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
Arrangements are pending at Krill Funeral Home, Bryan.

Darlene I. Spiess
(1933 - 2004)

TUCSON, Ariz. - Darlene I. Spiess, 70, of Tucson, Ariz., died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004.
Born Oct. 3, 1933, at Evansport, to Eurella (Wieland) and Clayton Schelling, she married James Spiess on July 15, 1955, and he survives.
She was a member of the Moose in Tucson.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Susan Spiess of Tucson; and a brother, Edward (and wife, Rachel) Schelling of Archbold.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Oakwood Cemetery, Stryker, with the Rev. Dane Meuschke to officiate.
Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker is in charge of arrangements.

Patricia Kay Waggoner
(1958 - 2004)

COLUMBUS GROVE - Patricia Kay Waggoner, 46, of Columbus Grove, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, at Blanchard Valley Regional Care Center, Findlay. Born March 17, 1958, at Defiance, she was the daughter of Mable (Feeney) and Leonard Cooper. A homemaker, she had worked at the Putnam County Vidette in Columbus Grove, Shell Super Station in Ottawa and the Spangler Candy Company in Bryan.
She was a member of the EagleÕs auxiliary No. 2772 in Columbus Grove and the Bower-Slausser American Legion auxiliary No. 516 in Columbus Grove.
She is survived by a daughter, Emily Jo Waggoner of Columbus Grove; two brothers, Gary L. (and wife, Pearl) Cooper of Bryan and Michael J. Cooper of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and five sisters, Carolyn L. Hosler of Hendersonville, N.C., Mrs. David (Sandra S.) Roesti of Defiance, Mabel E. Replogle of Bryan, Mrs. Dean (Rhonda M.) Drews of Fort Wayne, Ind. and Mrs. Anthony (Laura J.) Greutman of Hicksville. Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Kenneth Cooper. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove.

Gary L. Ramin
(1950 - 2004)

WAUSEON - Gary L. Ramin, 54, of Wauseon, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon.
Born April 1, 1950, at Wauseon, he was the son of Marie (Clark) and Kenneth Ramin.
An employee of Bil-Jax in Archbold for 34 years as a welder and fabricator, he was a member of St. Caspar Catholic Church.
Surviving are his children, Ken Ramin of Wauseon and Mrs. Phillip (Vicki) Roseman of Liberty Center; five granddaughters, Cortney, Mieke, Taylor, Madison and Kirsten; his mother, Marie Ramin of Wauseon; and ex-wife, Linda Ramin of Archbold.
Visitation will be held today from 6-8 p.m. in the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon.
Funeral mass will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Caspar Catholic Church, Wauseon, with the Rev. Father Robert Holden to officiate. Interment will be in St. Caspar Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the family's choice.

Mabel Cromwell
(1927 - 2004)

HICKSVILLE - Mabel Cromwell, 77, of Hicksville, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, at her home.
Born Sept. 20, 1927, at Elliottville, Ky., to Ollie (Fraley) and Blaine Prince, she married Elwood Cromwell and he preceded her in death in 1983.
Orphaned at the age of six, she later moved to Edon. During World War II, she worked for neighbors and also in factories. After her marriage, she worked with her husband in their auto body shop and also cared for senior citizens.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Greg (Chris)  Woods of Saginaw, Mich.; two grandchildren, Daniel and Lauren Woods; and two brothers, Noah and Edward Prince, both of Edon.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jean in 1962; and a brother, James in 2003.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4-9 p.m. in the Brown Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Noah Delagrange to officiate. Burial will be at Six Corners Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice, The Caring Way, of Defiance.
