Mary J. Addington

Mary J. Addington, 69, of Phoenix, Ariz. and formerly of Tiffin, died Monday, March 25, 2002, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix.

She married Charles P. Addington.

Survivors include: a daughter, Patricia Addington; two sons, Michael Addington and Charles Borer; a sister, Cleta Parker; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. All are of Arizona.

A Celebration of Life will be April 6 in Phoenix, Ariz.

Hazel F. Vallimont

Hazel F. Vallimont, 99, formerly of Clyde, died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at the Elmwood Nursing Home in Green Springs.

She was born Oct. 13, 1902 in Clyde to Clarence Edward and Anna Elizabeth (Stone) Dymond. She married Fred Andrew Vallimont Dec. 12, 1925. He is deceased.

Survivors include: a son, Howard Vallimont of Helena; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde. Burial will be at McPherson cemetery.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Richard F. Kinninger

Word has been received of the tragic death of Richard F. Kinninger, 76, on March 21, 2002, in Walnut Creek, Calif. He was born on July 28, 1925, to Herman C. and Marcella (Dell) Kinninger in Cleveland, Ohio. They later moved to Chicago.

He married Jessica York in 1968. She survives along with a daughter Julie, who lives in Chicago; sisters Mary Alice Fox of Tiffin, Florence Kruszynski of Fostoria and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Thomas and sister Rosemary, who died in infancy.

Mr. Kinninger worked for many years at Morton Salt in Chicago, retiring in 1988. He and his wife moved in 1994 to Rossmoor, a retirement community of 9,000 in Walnut Creek, Calif. He enjoyed many activities such as lawn bowling, table tennis and a great lover of opera, gardening, walking and giving a helping hand to those in need.

He was a member and lector at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Walnut Creek, where a memorial service will take place at a later date. His remains are being cremated.

Services will be at St. Joseph Church, Tiffin, at 12 p.m., April 6, 2002. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

Nellie E. Flickinger

Nellie E. Flickinger, 93, formerly of 201 E. Saffel Ave., Sycamore died 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Wyandot County Nursing Home.

She was born Jan. 26, 1909 in Wyandot County to John W. and Mary E. (Martin) Ankney. She married Mr. Ward Stewart March 1, 1927. They were divorced and he died Jan. 8, 1985. She married Mr. Harry C. Flickinger Sept. 6, 1957. He died Aug. 2, 1970. Mrs. Flickinger was also preceded in death by a sister and five brothers.

Other survivors include: a son, Mr. James D. Steward of Sycamore; a daughter, Mrs. Winona (Robert) McClain of Nevada, Oh.; a sister, Mrs. Hazel (David) Sutton of Bucyrus; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Flickinger worked at General Electric in Tiffin for 12 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Sycamore United Church of Christ and a former member of the Sycamore Garden Club. Mrs. Flickinger enjoyed playing cards.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at the Walton-Moor Funeral Home, Sycamore, with the Rev. Diane Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wyandot County Nursing Home Activity Fund, Hospice of Wyandot County or the donor's choice.

Sylvia June Pool

Sylvia June Pool, 67, 781 Greenfield St., formerly of Columbus, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at The Seneca House.

She was born June 9, 1934, in Tiffin, to John and Pearl (Duncan) McCray. They survive in Tiffin. She married David Pool and they later divorced. He is deceased.

Survivors include: a son, Michael Pool of Colorado Springs, Co.; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Lois) Hufford of Sycamore; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m., April 6 at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m., April 6 at the funeral home.

Grace Bard

Grace Bard, 68, of Sandusky CR 268, Clyde, Ohio, died on Wednesday, March 27, 2002 in Firelands of Sandusky. Born April 15, 1933 to Robert and Treva (Schaar) Snyder. On June 8, 1951 she married Thomas E. Bard, he survives.

Other survivors include: five sons, David, Daniel, Samuel, James, and Thomas Bard, all of Vickery; two brothers, Doug Snyder of Pickaway, OH. and Donald Snyder of Sidney, OH.; two sisters, Alice Hiser of Pleasant Hill, and Pat Williams of Troy; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Services at 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2002 at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home. Burial at Parkhurst cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Frances M. Lavoe

Frances M. Lavoe, 95, of Ruffing Family Care Center of Tiffin, formerly of Gross St., died Tuesday, March 26, 2002. Born on Dec. 29, 1906 to August and Louisa (Phillips) Herig. On June 19, 1934, she married Charles W. Lavoe, he died Nov. 29, 1983.

Surviving include: a daughter, Mrs. Audrey Polk of San Lorenzo, CA.; a sister, Mrs. Clara Kuhn of Tiffin; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Tuesday. April 2, 2002 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial at Seneca Memory Gardens.

Visitation hours are from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Rosary at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday.

John T. Egbert Sr.

John T. Egbert Sr. was born July 29, 1926, to Rule and Ruth Egbert in Tiffin, Ohio. After a year-long fight with acute myeloid leukemia, he died at his home Thursday, March 28, 2002. He graduated from Columbian High School in 1944. John was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy in the Pacific. Following the war, he attended Heidelberg College and married Shirley Blaser in Upper Sandusky, on Aug. 22, 1948. He worked for his father at Acme Electric, then partnered with his brother, Rule, in Amplex Construction. In 1960, his family built Riverview Inn (now Quality Inn) which he managed until it was sold in 1983.

During his retirement, John dedicated his life to golf. A 55-year member of Mohawk Golf Club, he served as president, three-time club champion and three-time runner-up. Besides his family, his greatest pleasure came from promoting the game of golf, either through the Evans Scholarship Foundation, which provides caddies with college scholarships or rating golf courses in Northwest Ohio for the USGA. He was also a USGA Sectional Affairs Committee member representing Northwest Ohio. John was an active member of the Toledo District Golf Association, serving as president and on the board of trustees for many years. He received the Burt Silverman Award in honor of his commitment to golf from the Toledo District Golf Association in 1997.

A 50-year member of all the Masonic York Rite Bodies in Tiffin, John was Worshipful Master of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio, Tiffin Lodge 77. He was a member of Zenobia Shrine, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and president of the Tiffin Shrine Club. John was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Moose Lodge. He was a charter member of the Tiffin Hornets, a former member of the Rotary Club and served on the Board of Directors of the Seneca County Building and Loan and aided in the development of the Tiffin Airport. John was a life-long member of Trinity United Church of Christ.

His parents, granddaughter, Julie Anne Egbert, and his older brother, Rule Egbert, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Shirley and children, Jan and Ean Sullivan of Plano, Texas, John and Beverly Egbert of West Chester, Pa. and Ruth and Tim Miles of Indianapolis, Ind. He is remembered by his grandchildren, Todd and Alexis McConaughy, Laura and Mary Beth Egbert and Fred and Jack Miles; his sisters, Irene Walcutt, Dorothy Kegerreis, Jane Butdorf and brother, Kenneth Egbert Sr., as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and great supportive friends.

The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 131 E. Perry St., with the Rev. Jan Egbert Sullivan and the Rev. Laurie Hill officiating. Burial will precede the service at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Ridge cemetery (Egbert's Church). Visitation will be at Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 31.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the following organizations: Evans Scholarship Foundation, 1 Briar Road, Golf, Ill. 60029; IU Cancer Center, 535 Barnhill Drive, Room 455, Indianapolis Ind. 46202, (memo Leukemia Research) or Trinity United Church of Christ, 131 E. Frances M. Lavoe

Frances M. Lavoe, 95, formerly of Gross Street, Tiffin, died Tuesday March 26, 2002, in the Ruffing Family Care Center of Tiffin, where she was a resident.

She was born Dec. 29, 1906, in Rockville, Conn., to the late August and Louisa (Phillips) Herig. Her husband, Charles W. Lavoe, whom she married June 19, 1934, in Tiffin, died Nov. 29, 1983.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Audrey Polk of San Lorenzo, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Clara Kuhn of Tiffin; many nieces and nephews; a God daughter, Carol Kuhn Dull of Tiffin; a God son, Robert Jones of Lewis Center, Ohio; and a step grandson and wife, David and Lucille Polk of Gig Harbor, Wash.

A son-in-law, James Polk, died Jan. 20, 2000, in Italy. Three brothers, Albert, Frank and Fred Herig, also are deceased.

Mrs. Lavoe, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society, was a homemaker. She had worked at Tiffin Glass.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday April 2, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Say officiating. The rosary will be prayed at the church at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.

Agnes M. Brandt

Agnes M. Brandt, 76, of 6531 W. TR 112, Fostoria, died 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002, in the Toledo Hospital.

Arrangements are pending at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Mildred E. Kreais

Mildred E. Kreais, 89, died sat 6:30 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2002, in St. Francis Health Care Centre, Green Springs. She was formerly of Fostoria.

She was born Oct. 5, 1912, in Wood County, to Irvy Earl and Ada Maude (Munro) Brandeberry, and both are deceased. She married Herman L. Kreais April 28, 1932, in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and he died Jan. 15, 1996.

Survivors include: a son, Herman E. "Sonny" Kreais of Fostoria; three daughters, Mrs. Phillip (Laura) Hossler and Mrs. Richard (Suzanne) Pelton both of Risingsun, and Mrs. Donald (Jane) Kleinfelter of Bloomville; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Brandeberry of Arizona; and a sister, Doris Bowerman of San Diego, Calif.

A brother, Earl Brandeberry, also preceded her in death.

She was a 1930 graduate of Bloomdale High School; a homemaker; a member and former president of Catholic Ladies of Columbia; and had been a bowler on the former Daughters of Isabella Bowling League.

The rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, with Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish cemetery.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where CL of C will conduct a memorial service 6:45 p.m. and the rosary will be prayed 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria; St. Francis Health Care Centre, Green Springs; Holy Cross Catholic Church, Cross Village, Mich.; or the Green Springs EMS Unit.

Mary Angela Stefanelli

Mary Angela "Angie" Stefanelli, 90, 182 St. Francis Ave., formerly of 309 Wall St., Tiffin, died Thursday March 28, 2002, in the Chiara Unit at St. Francis Home.

She was born Sept. 22, 1911, in San Bartolomeo in Galdo, Province of Benevento, Italy, to the late Joseph and Assunta (Colatruglio) Durso. On Oct. 27, 1928, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, she married Vincent Stefanelli. He died May 6, 1987.

Surviving are two sons, Joseph Stefanelli of Perrysburg and Eugene Stefanelli of Henderson, Nev.; two daughters, Mrs. John L. (Mary) Eichhorn and Mrs. Sue Kurtz, both of Tiffin; three brothers, Anthony and Frank Durso, both of Sandusky and Michael Durso of Tiffin; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. A son, Nazaro Stefanelli and a sister, Mary Emline, are deceased.

A member of St. Mary Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society, Mrs. Stefanelli had been employed as a welder at General Electric for 18 years, retiring in 1968. She also was a member of St. Francis Auxiliary, Daughters of Isabella, Legion of Mary and GEWOTS and was a Red Cross Gray Lady for the Blood Mobile for many years.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, in St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank A. Murd officiating. The rosary will be prayed at the church at 10:45 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Chiara Unit of St. Francis Home or a charity of the donor's choice

Ramona K. Kirkpatrick

Ramona K. Kirkpatrick, 89, of Marysville died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in Union County.

She was born Sept. 24, 1912, in Springfield to Walter C. and Clara A. (McCullough) Reese. She married Arthur Raymond Kirkpatrick Feb. 20, 1932; and he died Jan. 12, 1977.

She is survived by: three sons, Robert Earl and Thomas Edward of Marysville, and James Arthur of Lakeview; a daughter, Linda Carol Pitt of Mount Victory; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, William Baltzell of Tiffin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral was Thursday, March 21, 2002, at the Ingram Funeral Home, Marysville; and burial was at Oakdale cemetery, Marysville.

Agnes M. Brandt

Agnes M. Brandt, 76, of W. TR 112, Fostoria, died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002, at the Toledo Hospital.

She was born May 22, 1925, in Wooster to Hilary H. and Cecilia M. (Gillig) Sheeter; both are deceased. She married Marion C. Brandt June 6, 1953, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom, and he died June 6, 1977.

Survivors include: two sons, Joseph A. Brandt and John M. Brandt, both of Fostoria; five grandchildren; three brothers, Robert J. Sheeter of Shreve, Hilary H. Sheeter of Cuyahoga Falls, and Paul R. Sheeter of Hendersonville, N.C.; and a sister, Cordelia Holman of Fostoria. She was preceded in death by a brother, Cletus M. Sheeter.

Mrs. Brandt was a homemaker, and retired from the personnel department of Seneca Wire and Mfg., Fostoria, after 28 years of service. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom, and its Rosary-Altar Society. She was a former Parish Council member, a 1943 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Reach for Recovery, and worked with local hospice organizations.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom, with the Rev. Art Niewiadomski, officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick Parish cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Memorials may be made to St. Patrick, Church or a charity of the donor's choice.

Patricia L. Walliser

Patricia L. Walliser, 73, of 229 Mohawk St., Tiffin, died of lung cancer Thursday, March 28, 2002, at her residence. She was born Aug. 31, 1928, in Tiffin to Thomas S. and Alice L. (Eck) Frankart. She married Frederick Francis Walliser Aug. 7, 1971, at St. Joseph Church.

Survivors include: her husband; three sons, John Henry Zender, Mark Edward Zender, and David Thomas Zender; a daughter, Mrs. Lee (Cynthia) Louise Zender; six sisters, Mrs. Madlyn (Robert) Schwamberger of Millbury, Mrs. Evelyn (George) Taylor of New Philadelphia, Mrs Beatrice (Richard) Reinhart of Tiffin, Mrs. Jane Wood of Toledo, Mrs. Mary Jo (Harland) Brickner of Tiffin, Miss Norma Frankart of Akron; nine grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Til O'Connor.

Mrs. Walliser worked as a nurse at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin, St. Rita's Hospital of Lima and Tiffin Developmental Center. Her hobbies were a free lance artist and illustrator. She worked as a volunteer for Community Hospice Care and the Migrant Clinic in Tiffin. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

A Funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. James K. Say officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home. A Rosary service will be 12:45 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Inhalation Therapy at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin, Meals on Wheels at Mercy Hospital or a charity of the donor's choice.

Adda 'Dot' Carrel

Adda "Dot" Carrel, 91, formerly of East Lytle Street, Fostoria, died Friday, March 29, 2002, at the Countryside Community Care Center, Fremont.

She was born Dec. 4, 1910, in North Baltimore to Charles F. and Anna (Hile) Snyder. She married S. James Carrel Dec. 21, 1934, in North Baltimore. He is deceased.

Survivors include: a daughter, Gwen Wisbon of Fremont; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be at Fountain cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour before the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
