Helen M. Russett
Helen M. (Scherley) Russett, 89, of Providence Care Center, formerly of 1207 Stone St., Sandusky, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2002, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness.
She was born March 23, 1913, in Reed Township. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and enjoyed crafts and bingo.
Mrs. Russett is survived by a son, Edward Russett of Sandusky; five sisters, Rose Meggitt and Margaret Williams, both of Sandusky, Bernadette Hahler of Republic, Florence Evans of Phoenix, Ariz. and Sister Mary Charles Scherley, O.S.F. of Tiffin; a brother, Arthur Scherley of Reed Township; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Russett; a daughter, Maryann Russett; her parents, Charles and Celestine (Hahl) Scherley; two brothers, Edwin and Leonard Scherley; and two sisters, Lucille Rhoad and Mary Laub.
Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Dennis Walsh will officiate. Burial will be in Reed Assumption cemetery, Reedtown, south of Bellevue.

William J. Nutter
William J. Nutter, 77, of 630 S. 8th St., Upper Sandusky, died 11:38 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2002, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 18, 1925, in Upper Sandusky to William B. and Margaret E. (Shaffstall) Nutter. On Jan. 29, 1946, he married
Hazel Y. Parsell in Marseilles, Ohio. She died Sept. 13, 1997.
Survivors include: four sons, Robert A. Nutter of Upper Sandusky, William K. Nutter of Florence, S.C., and Stephen W. Nutter and Mark E. Nutter, both of Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Susan Beck of Bucyrus; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Rhoden of Upper Sandusky.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Bringman Clark & Co. Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky. Burial will be at Old Mission cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Marianne A. Gampetro
Marianne A. Gampetro, 84, formerly of Kilbourne Street, Bellevue, died Monday, April 22, 2002, at Bellevue Care Center.
She was born July 7, 1917 in Farmington, New York to Vincent and Teresa (Serraino) Artino. She married
John Gampetro in September 1936. He died June 4, 2001.
Survivors include: a son, James Gampetro of Buffalo, Wy.; three grandchildren; and three sisters, Josphine Farr, Rose Kasuga and Nancy Barrett, all of Bellevue.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be at Bellevue Catholic cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Friday at the Auxter Funeral Home, Bellevue.
Donald E. Walter
Donald E. Walter, 71, formerly of Fostoria, of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, died Thursday, April 18, 2002, at his home.
He was born March 24, 1931 in Fostoria to John and Emma Walter. He married
Beverly Burns on Oct. 15, 1955 in Fostoria. She survives in Minnesota.
Other survivors include: four sons, David, Ron, Kenny and Pat Walter, all of Coon Rapids; a daughter, Karen of Coon Rapids; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Bob, Gene and Butch Walter, all of Fostoria; and a sister, Emma Beeson of Fostoria.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Coon Rapids.
A memorial Mass at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, will be announced at a later date.
William F. Bowman
William F. Bowman, 75, of 435 W. Fremont St., Fostoria, died at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at the Toledo Hospital. He was born Sept. 7, 1926 in Toledo to George L. and Genevieve M. (Parish) Bowman. He married
Dorothy L. Harbaugh on July 30, 1948, in Toledo. She survives in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: his mother of Fostoria; four sons, Gary W. of Tiffin, Robert L. of Milan, Mich., James A. of Fostoria and William E. of Champlin, Minn.; a daughter, Brenda L. Eklund of Fostoria; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and a great-grandson, Christopher Yerkes.
Mr. Bowman was an International Representative for United Auto Workers Region 2B, Toledo, serving northwest Ohio for 36 years, including Atlas, Excello, Seneca Wire, Fostoria Industries, and Bendix (now Honeywell) in Fostoria. He retired on April 1, 1987. He was previously employed at the DeVilbiss Co., Toledo.
Mr. Bowman was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1945-47. He was a 1944 graduate of Whitmer High School, Toledo; a member of American Legion Post 73, VFW Post 421, and Amvets Post 69; former member of the United Way Board; Fostoria Community Hospital Board and founder of the former Labor Management Council, all in Fostoria. The UAW Fellowship Hall in Fostoria was named William F. Bowman Hall in recognition of his many achievements.
Funeral will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with the Rev. Branson J. Hawkes officiating. Interment at Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Raymond Hall
Raymond Hall, 87, of 138 E. Brown Ave., Carey, formerly of New York state, died 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at the home of his son, Jack Hall.
He was born June 26, 1914 in Southfield, N.Y., to Frank and Lillian (Smith) Hall. He married
Anna E. Jones in 1933 in Newburgh, N.Y., and she died Nov. 12, 1973. He then married
Sophie Jefferson on May 15, 1974, and she died in 1997.
Survivors include: five sons, Jack Hall of Carey, Raymond Hall of Walden, N.Y., George Hall of Newburgh, N.Y., Allen Hall of Montgomery, N.Y. and Arthur Hall of Orocovis, Puerto Rico; four daughters, Grace Eisloffle of Pine Bush, N.Y., Minnie Jones of Vails Gate, N.Y., Mary Wagtowicz of Montgomery, N.Y. and Harriet Melendez of Orocovis, Puerto Rico; five step-children, all of New York; two brothers, Henry Hall of New York and George Hall of Wallkill, N.Y.; and two sisters, Helen "Sissy" Muhlig of Liberty, N.Y. and Loretta "Babe" Westcopt of Binghamton, N.Y.
His funeral will be 8 p.m. Thursday at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey. Burial will be at Woodlawn cemetery, N.Y. A graveside service will be held at a later date in New Windsor, N.Y.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Virginia Kimber
Virginia Kimber, 87, of 110 W. Lytle St., Fostoria, died 9:18 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2002, in Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born April 13, 1915 in Fostoria to Charles C. and Daisy May (Gilland) Kesler. She married
Tunis Brudette Kimber on Feb. 6, 1943. He died in 1960.
Survivors include: a son, John W. Kimber of Wilmington, N.C.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where prayer service will be 7:45 p.m.
Rosanna B. Ginnever
Rosanna B. (Zellner) Ginnever, 80, of 544 Stinchcomb Dr., Wesley Village, Fostoria, died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at Toledo Hospital. She was born Oct. 17, 1921 to Frank and Emma (Smith) Zellner, both deceased. On Oct. 28, 1939 she married
George W. Ginnever in Angola, Indiana., he died April 12, 1999.
Surviving include: three sons, Ronald L. Ginnever of Fostoria, Edward N. Ginnever of Woodville, and Martin A. Ginnever and wife Leasie of rural Fostoria; two daughters, Ms. Ann L. Watkins of rural Fostoria, and Mrs. Randy (LaRetta) Rydman of Perrysburg; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death were: two sons, Larry F. Ginnever who died in 1973 and Richard A. Ginnever who died in 1962; six brothers, Rolla, William, Edward, Walter, Fred and Lloyd Zellner; and a sister, Lillie.
Mrs. Ginnever was a homemaker and everyone's mother. A Lykens HIgh School graduate, Class of 1939. She spent most of her life in Seneca County and member of Amsden United Methodist Church.
Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2002 at the Engle Funeral Home of Bettsville with The Rev. Branson Hawkes officiating. Burial at Smith cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 2-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Fostoria Surgical Center, and/or the charity of the donor's choice.
Linda S. Williams
Linda S. Williams, 53, of 581 Maple St., Fostoria, died at her residence.
She was born Oct. 31, 1948, in Fostoria, to Paul L. and Mary E. (Frankart) Williams. Her father and step mother, Corrine Williams, survive in Fostoria.
Other survivors include: a son, Nathan P. Williams of Boston, Mass.; four sisters, Mrs. Darrell (Sharon) Holman of Fostoria, Sister Mary Paulena S.N.D. of Fremont, Mrs .Joe (Wanda) Saum of Arcadia and Mrs. Sam (Pam) Guillen, also of Fostoria; four brothers, Paul G., Steven M., Gary J. and Tim B. Williams, all of Fostoria.
Preceding her in death were her mother and a sister, Elaine Peluso.
Mrs. Williams worked at Wal-Mart in Findlay and was a former bank teller in Fostoria and Tiffin. A graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Toledo, she was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria and the Just Friends group.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church. The rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish cemetery.
Visitation is 2-9 p.m. today at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where a Christian wake service will be at 8:45 p.m.
Memorials may be made to St. Wendelin Church or Schools, or a charity of the donor's choice.
Alberta J. Rumschlag
Alberta J. Rumschlag, 79, of 10 Thomas St., Tiffin, died on Thursday, April 25, 2002 at her home. She was born July 23, 1922 to Edward and Anna (Schriner) Scherley. On Nov. 24, 1942 she married
Paul Rumschlag, he died Jan. 2, 1982.
Surviving include: three sons, Gary Rumschlag of Risingsun, Thomas Rumschlag of Attica, and Mark Rumschlag of Tiffin; three daughters, Marilyn Gillig of Tiffin, Paula Welty of Fremont, and Mary Beth Wonderly of Fremont; a brother, Urban Scherley of Bellevue; a sister, Mildred Turner of Tucson, AZ.; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Services at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2002 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial at St. Mary cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home in Tiffin.
Thomas C. Painter
Thomas C. Painter, 63, of Fostoria Rd., Fostoria, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. He was born July 1, 1938 to Bevon and Delilah (McGough) Painter, both deceased. On Aug. 30, 1963 he married
Marilyn Chambers, and she survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Thomas Painter II of Portage, and Jerry Painter of Eaton, Ind.; two daughters, Tammy Painter of Fostoria, and Mrs. Toni Bringman of Gibsonburg; a sister, Mrs. Sally Jo Harden of Fostoria; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Preceded in death was a brother, Bevon Painter.
Services at 10 :30 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2002 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Fostoria. Burial at Knollcrest cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria.
Neta Lucille Schultz
Neta Lucille Schultz, 86, of Taft Blvd., Fostoria, died at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at the Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria. Born May 13, 1915 in Bloomville to John and Tina (Newson) Wolfelt, both deceased. On Dec. 31, 1946 she married
Harold F. Schultz, and he survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, James Haynes of Fostoria, and Thomas Thompson of Titusville, Fla.; two daughters, Carolyn Rivera and Janet Sue Priddy, both of Fostoria; 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death were two sons, Ernie Eugene and Stanley Wolfelt.
There are no services or burial plans.

Robert Arden Sieger
Robert Arden Sieger, 75, of Seneca Twp. Rd. 81, Bellevue, died Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at his home. Born on Oct. 8, 1926 to Elias J. and Jennie (Wingard) Sieger. On July 1, 1951 he married
L. Orwen Weaver, and she survives.
Other survivors include: four sons, Michael J. Sieger of Whitewater, WI., David A. Sieger of Carroll, OH., Mark R. Sieger of Madison, WI., and James C. Sieger of Bellevue.
Mr. Sieger was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran.
Services at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2002 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Flat Rock. Burial at Fireside cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 6-9 p.m., tonight, at the Auxter Funeral Home in Bellevue.
Annette Kay Johnson
Annette Kay Johnson, 60, of 512 S. Union St., Fostoria, died at 6:35 a.m., Thursday, April 25, 2002 at Toledo Hospital. Born Nov. 7, 1941 in Risingsun to Cloman C. and Esther (Hoffnauer) Stein, both deceased. On Jan. 19, 1963 she married
Richard E. Johnson, Sr. at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and he survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Richard E. Johnson, Jr. of Fostoria; a daughter, Kimberlee A. Gosche of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, Duane Correll of Cincinnati, and Larry Correll of Greenville, S.C.; a sister, Luann Monroe of Delphos; a step-father, David Stein of Lake St. Mary's, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
Services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2002 at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial at St. Wendelin cemetery.
Visitation hours are form 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., tonight at the funeral home, where Christian Wake services held at 8:30.
Clarence Meyer
Clarence Meyer, 76, of E. CR. 46, Bellevue, died Thursday, April 25, 2002 at Bellevue Hospital. He was born May 9, 1925 to Joseph and Louisa (Swartz) Meyer. On Sept. 3, 1971 he married
Margaret Pool, and she survives.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Laura Schwab of Toledo, Mrs. Ronda Lucius of Bellevue and Marcia Meyer of Minneapolis; twin brother, Clemence Meyer of Bellevue; and a sister, Mary Bollenbacher of Bellevue; and two grandchildren.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2002 at St. Michaels Catholic Church. Burial at St. Michael cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, with Rosary at 5:30 at the Auxter Funeral Home.
Opal E. Spitler
Opal E. Spitler, 78, of 7651 S. TR 17, Tiffin, died at 1:35 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2002 at St. Francis Home in Tiffin. She was born Jan. 6, 1924 to Charles W. and Bessie B. (Shupp) Hieber, both deceased. On Aug. 14, 1949 she married
Lester J. Spitler in Evangelical United Brethren Church in Brokensword, Ohio, and he survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Joyce and husband John Losch of Lordstown, and Barbara and husband David Sander of Genoa; a son, David and wife Barbara Spitler of Tiffin; five grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
Preceded in death were: two brothers, Earl and Chester Heiber.
Mrs. Spitler retired in 1984 from 3rd grade elementary school teacher at Melmore Elementary, part of the Mohawk School System, she had taught at Lykens for the first 8 years for a total teaching career of 31 years. A member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Tiffin and a Class of 1942 Lykens High School graduate, graduate of Bowling Green State University, member of the Retired Teachers Association of Ohio and Wyandot County, 4-H advisor with the Modern Cinderella's 4-H Club for 40 years, and member Eden Grange-Seneca County. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, flower and vegetable gardening, playing the piano and enjoyed working on her lawn.
Services are at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2002 at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore with The Rev. Gail Angel officiating. Burial at Pleasant View cemetery, Sycamore.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2002 at the funeral home.
