Jeff Fuleki, of Cleveland, formerly of Bloomville, died April 20, 2002.

He was born April 24, 1947.

Survivors include: his wife, Constance and a son Jeffrey.

Memorial will be May 11, 2002, at St. Michael in Cleveland.

Ae Sung (Debbie) Cha

Ae Sung (Debbie) Cha, 24 formerly of 150 N. 3rd St., Upper Sandusky, of Fairhaven Health Care Community, died 11:06 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2002, at Fairhaven.

She was born July 17, 1977 in Toledo to Dr. Chong and Eun Soon Yoon Cha.

Survivors include: her stepmother, Hyun Jung (Helen) Lee and father, Dr. Chong Cha, both of Upper Sandusky; a brother, Sung Kwang (Paul) Cha of Upper Sandusky; two sisters, Ae Seon (Ann) Cha of Canton and Ae Jean (Angie) Cha of Columbus.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Mansfield Korean United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Crown Hill cemetery, Twinsburg.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bringman Clark & Co. Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky.

Lewis F. Shaw

Lewis F. Shaw, 72, died Monday, April 29, 2002, at Paradise Valley Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz.

He was born May 26, 1929 to Samuel L. and Clara T. (Smith) Shaw.

Survivors include: his wife Marjorie (Sullivan) Shaw, formerly of Bettsville; two sons, Eric Shaw of Tiffin and Jim Shaw of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Vicki Riley of Tiffin, Cristi Fortney of Fremont, Betsy Ickes of Newport Beach, Calif. and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Shaw was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Alaska during the Korean Conflict.

A private family service will be held in Phoenix.

William Edward Hunter

William Edward Hunter, 70, of 412 West Ridge, Fostoria, died 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2002, in Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born Aug. 30, 1931 in Carey to Don G. and Mildred (Pahl) Hunter. He married Irene M. McKinnon on July 14, 1956 at Our Lady of Consolation, Carey. She survives in Fostoria.

Other survivors include: four sons, Michael S. Hunter and Daniel S. Hunter, both of Fostoria, Don G. Hunter of Tiffin and Eric W. Hunter of Oregon; a daughter, Laura A. Hunter of New York; 10 grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard D. Hunter of Roswell, Georgia; three sisters, Beverly Burks of Tiffin, Phyllis Frederick of Fort Myers, Fla. and Jo Lynn Benjamin of Findlay.

Mr. Hunter was an U.S. Air Force Veteran.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. at St. Wendelin Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Wendelin Parish cemetery, where the United Veterans of Fostoria will provide Military Honors.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Hoening Funeral Home. 4th Degree Knights of Columbus will stand honor and guard from 7-9 p.m. and a Christian Wake will take place 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Janet A. Tinnel

Janet A. Tinnel, 65, of 3140 Frosch Dr., Fort Wayne, Ind., died 3:50 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2002, at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana.

She was born May 18, 1936 in Nevada, Ohio, to Milton T. and Geraldine (Finical) Gucker. Her husband, Billy Ray Tinnel, survives in Fort Wayne.

Other survivors include: four sons, John R. Bour of Tiffin., Thomas C. Bour of Scottsdale, Ariz., Peter T. Bour of Franklin, Ohio and Michael Bour of Melmore; a daughter, Jane R. Bishoff of Fortt Wayne; a step son, David Ray Tinnel of Fort Wayne; three stepdaughters, Amy Gould of Fort Wayne, Cari Ann Boxell of Decatur, Ind. and Jullie Mae Mominee of Sparta, Tenn.; a brother, Robert E. Gucker of McCutchenville; three grandchildren and 14 step-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Funeral Home, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 W. Wayne St., Fort Wayne, Ind. Entombment will be in Lindenwood cemetery.

Visitation will be one prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Mary M. Schirack

Mary M. Schirack, 70, 1131 Morgan Ave., Tiffin, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, in the Emergency Room at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

She was born May 24, 1931, in Gallipolis, Ohio, to the late Walter and Irene (Wagner) Scott. On June 11, 1956, in Tiffin, she married James E. Schirack. He died April 12, 1967.

Surviving are: four sons, Michael E. and (Carol) Schirack and Danny E. and (Luann) Schirack, all of Tiffin, John C. and (Diane) Schirack of Bloomville and Terry L. and (Penny) Schirack, also of Tiffin; a daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Vickie) Bryant of Tiffin; three brothers, Clifford and (June) Scott of Sycamore, Warren and (Gertie) Scott of Upper Sandusky and Walter and (Carole) Scott of North Robertson, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Two brothers, Kenneth and Bill Scott; and a sister, Dorothy Scott, are deceased.

Mrs. Schirack, a member of Crawford United Methodist Church, Carey, was employed as a dishwasher at Mary and John's Restaurant for 10 years. She also worked at the South Washington Street Nursing Home for 15 years.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 3, in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, with the Rev. Cynthia Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Dee Wink

Dee Wink, 64, of Worthington, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at Riverside Hospital, Columbus, after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Surviving are her husband, Bob Wink; son, Jon (Katherine) of Upper Arlington; daughter, Amy Wink of San Francisco; grandchildren, Peter, Thomas, Steven and Matthew Wink; brother, Lewis (Carol) Campbell; brothers-in-law, James "Red" Bolin, Dr. Richard (Sue) Wink and Dr. Ray (Susan) Wink. She was preceded in death by her parents, A.J. and Marguerite Campbell; and sister, Patricia Bolin.

Mrs. Wink retired from Worthington City Schools. She was a deacon at Worthington Presbyterian Church and a volunteer for Hospice at Grant/Riverside Hospital.

A celebration of Dee's life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4 at Worthington Presbyterian Church, 773 High St., Worthington, with Dr. Philip Hazelton officiating. The family will receive family and friends one hour before and one hour after the celebration at the church.

Expressions of sympathy may be sent to www.schoedinger.com. The family requests contributions be made to Hospice at Grant/Riverside, 3555 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio 43214 or Worthington Presbyterian Church, in her memory.

Arrangements are by the Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, Columbus.

Leo A. Whitlow

Leo A. Whitlow, 77, of 1401 N. 23rd St., Lot 70, Escanaba, Mich., died late Friday, April 26, 2002, at his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Benton, Ill. on May 4, 1924 to Walter A. and Thelma M. (Klinker) Whitlow. He married Freda T. (Baribeau) Whitlow on June 6, 1953 at St. Thomas Church in Escanaba. She survives in Escanaba.

Other survivors include: a son, John Whitlow of Tiffin; a daughters, Virginia (Charles) Adams of Tiffin; three grandchildren, Christian (Mary) Potteiger Sr. of Tiffin, Megan (Dale) Doss of Escanaba and Kirsten Whitlow of Ocean, N.J.; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, R. Kenneth (Loretta) Whitlow of Sesser, Ill., Gaynold (June) Whitlow of Highland, Ill. and Gerald (Janet) Whitlow of Caseville, Ill.

Mr. Whitlow was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Maye and a brother, Virgil.

He graduated from Valier High School Class of 1941 and attended the University of Illinois for two years then joined the Air Force in 1943. Mr. Whitlow stayed in service until 1946 when he was honorably discharged. He then continued his education at the University of Illinois, where he graduated with a degree in accounting in 1948. He later became a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Whitlow was a resident of Tiffin from 1953 to 1995 when he moved to Escanaba. He was employed at National Machinery Co. for 29 years and retired in 1984. After his retirement he did tax returns. Mr. Whitlow was a member of St. Joseph, Tiffin and St. Patrick's Parish in Escanaba. He was a life member of Elk's Lodge 94 in Tiffin.

Mass of Christian Burial was on Wednesday at St. Joseph Church. Burial was in Holy Cross cemetery.

John R. Corthell

John R. Corthell, 84, of 189 Nelson St., died 7:54 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at manatee memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fla.

He was born Dec. 30, 1917 in Green Springs to George and Orpha (Haines) Corthell. He married Geraldine (Below) Corthell on Aug. 25, 1945 in Tiffin. She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Lonnie Corthell of Tiffin and Dave Corthell of Orlando, Fla.; three brothers, Paul Corthell of Oak Harbor, Kenneth Corthell and Don Corthell, both of Tiffin; two sisters, Helen Cole of Republic and Janette Holmer of Vancouver, Wash.; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at the First Lutheran Church, Tiffin. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Dorthy Gaynelle Fenton

Dorthy Gaynelle Fenton, 72, of Findlay, died 11:05 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2002, at Winebrenner Village.

She was born Dec. 23, 1929 in Fostoria to Claude and Gaynelle (Kemp) Ward. She married Richard Fenton on Jan. 30, 1949. He is deceased.

Survivors include: a son, Richard G. Fenton of Findlay; a daughter, Doretta Fenton-Schmidt of Bowling Green; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, George E. Ward of Fostoria; and a sister, Ethel M. Bushong of Findlay.

Mrs. Fenton was preceded in death by five brothers, Joseph, Grover, Harold and Claude Jr. Ward, and two sisters, Betty Tyner and Kathryn Kelbley.

Mrs. Fenton was a homemaker all her life. She formerly attended College First Church of God in Findlay.

Funeral as held Monday at the Routson Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Maple Grove cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice 415 College Street, Findlay.

David Austin Hedges

Lt. Col. David Austin Hedges, retired, 81, of Soquel, Calif., died at his home Wednesday, April 10, 2002.

He was born June 13, 1920, in Bascom, to the late Vernon and Lucille (Kline) Hedges.

Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Elaine Hedges of Soquel; sons, David and Steven Hedges of Santa Cruz; step children, Glenn and David Hurlburt of California and Laura Gray of Florida; sisters, Margaret Hance of Piqua, Jeanne McDade of Tiffin and Dorrine Matz of Republic.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II in North Africa with the 47th Bomber Group as a navigator, flying 94 combat missions and was awarded an African Campaign Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross with Oak Leaf Cluster. He also served in the Korean Conflict, the Cold War and in Vietnam, stationed at the Pentagon in Washington D.C.

Private services and burial were in Soquel.

Helen Humberger Weyant

Helen Humberger Weyant, 95, of Burgoon, died Thursday, May 2, 2002 in Valleview Care Center in Fremont. She was born July 20, 1905 to George and Hattie (Carnicom) Humberger. On May 28, 1927 she married N.B. Weyant, he died May 14, 1973.

Surviving include: two sons, Glenn Weyant of Burgoon, and Loren Weyant of Fremont; a daughter, Janet Humbert of Marblehead; two sisters, Myrtle Haupert and Sandra Finn, both of Florida; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Nopper-Veh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Richard C. Edelman

Richard C. Edelman, 75, of 919 Harmon St., Findlay, died at 4:35 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2002 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center. He was born Feb. 22, 1927 to Lowell R. and Edna (Fenberg) Edelman. On Nov. 14, 1945 he married Marjorie E. O'Connell, and she survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Richard L. Edelman of Tiffin, and Ronald L. Edelman of Dayton; six grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Mr. Edelman was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, retiring after 26 1/2 years of service.

Funeral immediately following Masonic services at 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2002 at the Coldren-Crates Funeral Home. The burial will be private.

Visitation hours are from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Monday.

Donna M. Walter

Donna M. Walter, 69, of 964 CH 34, Sycamore, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at her home. She was born July 21, 1932 to Henry and Margie (Kheune) Baker. On June 23, 1951 she married Junior Walter, he died may 16, 1993.

Surviving include: two sons, David L. Walter of Evanston, WY., and Dennis L. Walter of rural Sycamore; a daughter, Becki Ward of rural Sycamore; two brothers, Robert Baker of Bucyrus, and James Baker of Plano, TX.; a sister, June Baler of Bucyrus; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Services at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2002 at Walton-Moore Funeral Home. Burial at Pleasant View cemetery.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., tonight, at the funeral home.

Leonard W. Beard

Leonard W. Beard, 84, of 2780 Co. Hwy. 16, Sycamore, died at 8:24 a.m., Friday, May 3, 2002, at home.

He was born Sept. 24, 1917, in Sycamore to Mont and Esther (Feightner) Beard; and they are deceased. He married Persis Bucher May 28, 1938; and she survives.

Other survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Mary Lou Beard of El Paso, Texas; two grandchildren, Michael Beard and Theresa Jo Maly, both of El Paso, Texas; a great-grandson, Charles Michael (Casey) Maly of El Paso, Texas; four brothers, Arthur Beard of Bonita Springs, Fla., Kenneth Beard, Neil Beard and Dale Beard of Sycamore; and two sisters, Mrs. Bonette Ward and Mrs. Leahbelle Miller of Sycamore.

A brother, William Beard, is also deceased.

He graduated from Sycamore High School in 1938. He retired as a salesman for Sycamore Mill/Pillsbury Company and also worked for Horn's Crop Service and for Shellhouse Recreation. He was a member of the Sycamore United Church of Christ, Wyandot County Farm Bureau, Mohawk Historical Society, and a life member of Upper Sandusky Elks Lodge 83. His hobbies included gardening, camping, wine making and traveling.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2002, in the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with the Rev. Diane Thomas officiating followed with burial in Pleasant View cemetery, Sycamore.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2002, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Wyandot County Hospice, Sycamore United Church of Christ, Mohawk Historical Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.

John R. Corthell

John R. Corthell, 84, 189 Nelson St., Tiffin, and 147 New York St., Palmetto, Fla., died at 7:54 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2002, in Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, Fla.

Two brothers, Gilbert and Robert Corthell and a sister, Catherine Brooks, also are deceased.

Mr. Corthell retired after 25 years as a construction laborer for Hossler Construction Company. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Laborer's Union and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Tiffin.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 6, in the First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Margaret Marks officiating. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 5 at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., (419) 447-3113 and 9-10 a.m. Monday, May 6 at the First Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church in care of Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.
