Charles L. Kessler

Charles L. Kessler, 83, of 222 S. Muncie St., Carey, died at 2:23 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2002 in the I.C.U. unit of Memorial Hospital in Fremont. He was born April 6, 1919 to John and Lenora (Ruffing) Kessler in Carey. On Feb. 1, 1947 he married Romaine H. Nye in the Our Lady of Consolation Church in Carey, and she survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, Charles D. Kessler of Tiffin, Paul A. and Dennis J. Kessler, both of Carey; two brothers, Bernard Kessler of Upper Sandusky, and Robert Kessler of Carey; four sisters, Margaret Goshe, Rita Nye, Mary L. Risner, and Bernice Briedenbach, all of Tiffin; five grandchildren, Kenny, David, Jeremy, Dannette and Brandon Kessler; and seven great grandchildren.

Preceded in death were several infant children; a brother, Raymond; and a sister, Stella Draper.

Mr. Kessler retired in 1985 after 37 years in the maintenance department at Porcelain Products in Carey, Ohio. A U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving in Europe and Africa. A member of Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey; life member Earl Green Post 344 American Legion and Black Lamberjack Post 3759 V.F.W., both in Carey.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2002 at the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey. Burial will be at St. Mary's cemetery with Military Graveside Rites. The Rev. Regis Schlagheck OFM Conv. will officiate.

Visitation hours are from 2-9 p.m. Sunday, May 5 at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey. The Rosary will be prayed at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Our lady of Consolation School and/or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Harold F. Schultz

Harold F. Schultz, 80, resident of Good Shepherd and formerly of Taft Blvd., died at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2002, in Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

He was born Oct. 16, 1921, in Sherwood to Joseph and Stella (Guilford) Schultz. He married Neta L. Wolfelt Dec. 31, 1946, in Fostoria; and she died April 24, 2002.

Survivors include: two step-sons, James Haynes of Fostoria and Thomas Thompson of Titusville, Fla.; two step-daughters, Carolyn Rivera and Janet Sue Priddy both of Fostoria; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a brother Charles L. Schultz of Defiance; and two sisters, Violet Keckler and Rose Talbott both of Fostoria.

He was a World War II Army Veteran.

Joint Veterans of Fostoria will provide Military Honors at the graveside services at Fountain cemetery at 1 p.m., Monday.

There will be no visitation.

The Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Michael D. Reichert

Michael D. Reichert, 48, of SR 412, Vickery, died Friday, May 3, 2002, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 14, 1954, in Fremont to Darwin and Jean (Swedersky) Reichert. He married first in 1972 to Darla Ballard Hrynciw and they divorced in 1976. He married Kimberly S. Lennhoff in 1976 and divorced in 1979; then remarried in 1992.

Survivors include: his mother and stepfather, Paul Hensgen of Fremont; his wife; a daughter, Shonda Freeman of Caledonia, Miss.; a grandson; three brothers, Rick of Ashland, Ore., John of Ellicott City, Md. and Tom of Huron; and two sisters, Susan Fields of Toledo and Mary Mousseau of Christman, Mich.

His father is deceased.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, with interment in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

William Cosme Zamora

Grace Elizabeth Zamora

Kathrine Marie Zamora

William Cosme, Grace Elizabeth, and Kathrine Marie Zamora, infant children of Jesse and Ann (Robenalt) Zamora, of 145 Wentz St., Tiffin, were stillborn Thursday, May 2, 2002, in Toledo Hospital. William died at 7:15 p.m., Grace at 7:16 p.m. and Kathrine at 7:17 p.m.

In addition to their parents, they are survived by paternal grandmother, Candelaria Zamora of Green Springs; maternal grandparents, Joe and Paulette Robenalt of Tiffin; and maternal great-grandfather, Paul West of Sandusky.

They were preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Cosme Zamora, and an aunt, Becky Robenalt. They were members of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic cemetery with the Rev. Frank Murd officiating. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice, in care of Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, OH 44883 (419-447-3113).

Barbara C. Compton

Barbara C. "Carly" Compton, 74, of Bogart Road, Sandusky, died at 10: 56 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2002, at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Toledo.

She was born May 24, 1927, in Fostoria to Frank and Laila (Detillion) Compton.

Survivors include: her friend and caregiver, Donna Foos of Sandusky; a sister, Eileen Hamilton of Fostoria; two nieces, Sue Holman of Rockingham, N.C., and Nancy Shaferly of Fostoria; three great-nephews and three great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Deane Compton.

Miss Compton retired in 1987 as an assembler at Ford Motor Co. with more than 30 years of service. She was a 1945 graduate of Jackson Liberty High School and a member of the Erie County Humane Society.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria with the Rev. Branson Hawkes officiating. Burial will be in Kansas cemetery near Kansas, Ohio.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Erie County.

Kathryn M. Lynch

Kathryn M. Lynch, 96, formerly of 5614 N. CR 11, Tiffin, of Independence House, 1000 Independence Road, Fostoria, died Sunday, May 5, 2002, at Independence House, where she was a resident for six years.

She was born Aug. 5, 1905 in Liberty Township, Seneca County, to Frank and Rose (Grimes) Lynch. Miss Lynch never married .

Other survivors include: a brother, Ralph M. Lynch of Sandusky; eight nephews, Timothy of Bettsville, Gerald of rural Tiffin, Leonard of rural Bloomville, Charles of rural Tiffin, Eldon of Arizona, Michael of rural Fostoria, Ralph J. of rural Fostoria and Perry Lynch of Bettsville; two nieces, Mrs Margaret (Jerry) Savoy of Elyria and Mrs. Miriam (John) Baglier of Youngstown.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, John, Fred and Thomas Lynch, and a nephew, Stephen.

Miss Lynch was a graduate of Columbian High School, Class of 1923 and attended Tiffin Business School in 1925. She was a secretary/clerk for Noble and Fiege Insurance and Wagner Insurance. She also worked at Ohio Lantern. She was a member of the Tiffin Business and Professional Women.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home with the Rev. Pat Danner officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of the donor's choice.

Mabel E. Barrett

Mabel E. Barrett, 85, of 414 W. Market St., Tiffin, died at 5:33 a.m. Sunday, May 5, 2002, at St. Francis Home.

She was born Feb. 20, 1917, in Eden Township to Clyde E. and Ilo W. (Culver) Barnes. On Oct. 23, 1948, she married Harvey L Barrett in Mt. Carmel, Ohio. He died Oct. 8, 1991.

Survivors include: a son, Donald W. Barrett of Tiffin, three brothers, Paul E. Barnes of Prospect, Clyde C. Barnes of Bucyrus and Vern A. Barnes of Bellevue; a sister, Mary M. Swerline of Tymochtee, Ohio.

Funeral will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home. Burial will be private for family in Greenlawn cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Dr. Richard B. Consolo

Dr. Richard B. Consolo, 74, of 192 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin died Saturday, May 4, 2002, at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.

Arrangements are pending at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Leonard L. England

Leonard L. "Buster" England, 64, of Attica, died Saturday, May 4, 2002, at St. Catherine's Care Center in Fostoria.

He was born Jan. 21, 1938, to Leonard L. and Vallie (Vinson) England Sr.

He married Evelyn England, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include: three brothers, Ronald England of Florida, Gary England of Portland, Tenn., and Larry England of New Haven; two sisters, Louise Goin of Carrothers and Peggy Seville of Monroeville.

Mr. England was an U.S. Army veteran serving 1957-1959.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Home, Attica. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Plymouth.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Richard E. Keiser

Richard E. Keiser, 82, of Van Buren St., Fostoria, died at 6:10 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2002, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

He was born Jan. 11, 1920, in Fostoria to Alan and Nina (Nobbs) Keiser. He married Bessie M. (Greenfield) Keiser Jan. 21, 1951, in Fostoria. She survives in Fostoria.

Mr. Keiser was an U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II.

Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fountain cemetery in Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Bernie Manns

Bernie Manns, 58, of 15551 SR 103 West, Carey, died at 11:03 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2002, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton.

He was born Oct. 13, 1943, in Wayland, Ky., to Thomas and Ethel (Howard) Manns. He married Shirley J. (Risner) Manns Dec. 7, 1963, in Carey.

Survivors include: his wife, Shirley J. Manns; two sons, Brad Manns of Alvada and Bret Manns of Carey; a daughter, Lana Grine of Carey; four brothers, Alvin Manns of Findlay, Delmar Manns of Kenton, Russell Manns of Mt. Victory and Tommy Manns of Alabama; four sisters, Jean Woods of Findlay, Evelyne Ratliff of Kenton, Mattie Loffer of Kenton and Berniece Ratliff of Kenton; and seven grandchildren.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.

Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Lucille M. Fox

Lucille M. Fox, 74, of 11179 W. TR 116, Fostoria, died at 5:47 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2002, in St. Francis Home, Tiffin.

She was born July 20, 1927, in Tiffin, to the late Harry H. and Mary B. (Schreiner) Harper. On May 10, 1947, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, she married Howard N. Fox. He died July 12, 1995.

Surviving are a son, Howard M. Fox of Milfield; a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Barbara) Kline of New Riegel; three grandchildren, Jonah and Rachel Fox and Megan Kline; a great-grandson, Alexander Fox; and two brothers, Harry J. and Karl Harper, both of Tiffin. A sister, Kathryn Brickner, is deceased.

A homemaker, Mrs. Fox worked with St. Wendelin Elementary School cafeteria. A 1945 graduate of Calvert High School, Tiffin, she was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church. The rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. The rosary will be prayed at 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice, in care of Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830.

Mabel E. Barrett

Mabel E. Barrett, 85, 414 W. Market St., Tiffin, died at 5:33 a.m. Sunday, May 5, 2002, in St. Francis Home, Tiffin.

Surviving are a son, Donald W. Barrett and his girl friend, Diana Monaco and family of Tiffin; three brothers, Paul E. Barnes of Prospect, Ohio, Clyde C. Barnes of Bucyrus and Vern A. Barnes of Bellevue; and a sister, Mrs. Alfred (Mary M. ) Swerline of Tymochtee, Ohio. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Earl Barnes and three sisters, Ethel Price, Helen Evans and Doris Wagner.

An accomplished seamstress and loving mother, Mrs. Barrett was a retired practical nurse, having worked for Dr. Piersol, D.D.S. and also as supervisor of the Junior Home Hospital for eight months until it closed. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Tiffin and its Ruth Circle.

The service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 9, in the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, with the Rev. Scott Hayward officiating. Private family burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church or St. Francis Home, in care of Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-3113.

The family would like to thank all the associates and doctors of St. Francis Home for the loving care they bestowed upon Mrs. Barrett these past few years.

Dr. Richard B. Consolo

Dr. Richard B. Consolo, 74, 192 St. Francis Ave., died Saturday, May 4, 2002, in the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo.

He was born May 17, 1927, in Bellevue, to the late Dominic and Clara (Matusak) Consolo. He married Mary M. Folk April 11, 1953, in St. Joseph Church, Tiffin She survives.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Phillip (Ann) Keller of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Mrs. David (Carla) Thompson and Mrs. Ted (Elaine) Reinhard, both of Tiffin; a sister, Mrs. Jack (Nancy) Williams of Toledo; and six grandchildren, Matthew, Molly and Micah Thompson, Erik and Kelsi Reinhard and Drew Keller.

Dr. Consolo practiced general dentistry in Tiffin for 28 years and retired in 1982. A 1945 Bellevue High School graduate, he attended Heidelberg College and graduated from Western Reserve University with degrees of bachelor of science and Doctor of Dental Surgery. He was a life member of the Elks Club and member of American Dental Association, Delta Sigma Delta Fraternity and St. Joseph Catholic Church. He served as a hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 10 in St. Francis Home Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Dunn officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by the United Veterans Council.

The family will receive friends 9:30 a.m. Friday until time of the service at St. Francis Home Chapel. The Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Seneca County Health District Dental Clinic, St. Francis Home or a charity of the donor's choice.

Florence V. Almeroth

Florence V. Almeroth, 96, of Monroe, Mich. died 1:40 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2002, at The Lutheran Home, Monroe.

She was born May 23, 1905 in New Riegel to Jerome and Rosa (Zoeller) Theis. She married William Almeroth on Jan. 17, 1950 in Monroe. He died May 4, 1979.

Survivors include: a sister, Doris O'Connell of Port Richey, Fla.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Church, New Riegel. Burial will be in St. Boniface cemetery, New Riegel.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Rupp Funeral Home in Monroe, Mich. is in charge of the arrangements.
