Lily E. Peck

Lily E. Peck, 66, of Illinois, died on Sunday, June 2, 2002, in Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

She was born Dec. 29, 1935 in Los Angeles, Calif., to Kenneth and Dorothy (Squires) Traver.

Surviving are: four sons, Daniel Rinaman Jr. of Tiffin, David Rinaman of Corona, Calif., Thomas Rinaman of St. Mary's, Ga., and James Peck of Olney, Ill.; a daughter, Karen Kelsey of Allendale, Ill., two brothers, James Traver of Franklin, Ga., Kenneth Traver of San Francisco, Calif., and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Stasi-Grove Funeral Home in Olney, Ill. Burial will be in Maple Dale cemetery in Olney.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Irene Adams

Irene Adams, 81, 74 Virginia Ave., Tiffin, died Sunday, June 2, 2002, in St. Francis Home.

She was born June 18, 1920, in Ormskirk, England, to the late William O. and Alice (Snape) Berkley. On Feb. 16, 1946, in England, she married William H. Adams. He preceded her in death Feb. 24, 1968.

Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer I. Kinney and Jeannette M. and son-in-law John Gaietto, both of Tiffin; a sister, Margaret McFall of Tiffin; two grandchildren, John B. and Matthew W. Gaietto; and numerous nieces and nephews;

A high school graduate, Mrs. Adams had worked as an aide at Tiffin Developmental Center. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church.

Private funeral services took place Wednesday, June 5, in Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, with the Rev. Margaret Marks officiating. Burial was in Tew cemetery, near Castalia.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society; Sight Center, 1819 Canton Ave., Toledo, Ohio 43624 or a charity of the donor's choice.

Frieda E. McKeehen

Frieda E. McKeehen, 83, of Sulphur Springs, died 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at home.

She was born July 9, 1918, in Crawford County to E. L. "Bert" and Minette "Nettie" (Herr) Leonhart, though raised for many years by her stepmother Edna (Green) Leonhart. She married Edwin McKeehen on Oct. 25, 1941. He survives in Sulphur Springs.

Other survivors include: a son, James A. McKeehen of Sulphur Springs; a daughter, Beverly E. Kleinhoffer of Bucyrus; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home in Bucyrus. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Marie K. Shepherd

Marie K. (Beisner) Shepherd, 101, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, in Cleveland.

She was born July 12, 1900, to Henry S. and Matilda (Theiss) Beisner in Mannington, W.Va. The family moved in 1915 to Tiffin, where she met and later married M.O. "Doc" Shepherd in February 1918. He is deceased.

Surviving are: two sons, Dan and Dick Shepherd; two daughters, Kathryn Deunk and Margaret Ellen Cole; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Memorial will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmstead.

Ernst B. Kohmann

Ernst B. Kohmann, 89, of 12237 State Hwy. 101 East, Carey, died 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 9, 1913, in Carey to John J. and Estella R. (Rimelspach) Kohmann. He married Helen I. McDowell on Aug. 29, 1940. She died Dec. 23, 1981.

Surviving are: three daughters, Alice Kay Brandeberry of Arcadia, Ruth Ann Nye of Bluffton and Evelyn Sue Perz of Ridgway; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Carey.

Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey. A Christian Wake will be 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Paul J. 'Jack' Reinbolt

Paul J. "Jack" Reinbolt, 80, 833 N. Water St., Tiffin, died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at his home.

He was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Tiffin, to the late Andrew G. and Gladys (Clouser) Reinbolt. His stepmother, Florence Dora Mae Reinbolt, also is deceased. On Oct. 5, 1946, in St. Joseph Church, Tiffin, he married Kathleen Miller. She preceded him in death July 15, 1988.

Surviving are a son, Paul J. Reinbolt Jr. of Woodburn, Ky.; a daughter, Mrs. Steve (Kathy) Corthell of Tiffin; two brothers, Robert Reinbolt of Sarasota, Fla. and Warren Reinbolt of Tiffin; two half-brothers, Roger Reinbolt of Toledo and Charles Reinbolt of Bradenton, Fla.; a half-sister, Linda Gessner of Tallahassee, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Michelle and Marcia Corthell.

A brother, Donald Reinbolt, three sisters, Betty Albright, Madalyn Stiles and Phyllis Philbrick; and a half-brother, David Reinbolt, are deceased.

Mr. Reinbolt was employed as a blacksmith at the National Machinery for 29 years, retiring in 1976, A World War II U.S. Army Air Force veteran, serving in Africa, he was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, National Machinery Quarter Century Club, American Legion Post 169, VFW Post 2858, AMVETS Post 48 and Moose Lodge 846. He also was a Ham radio operator and a volunteer for Mercy Meals on Wheels.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 10, in St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Frank A. Murd officiating. The rosary will be prayed at the church at 9:45 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, where National Machinery Quarter Century members will meet in body at 7 p.m. Sunday and a wake service will be at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Marie K. Shepherd

Marie K. (Beisner) Shepherd, 101, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, in Cleveland.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmstead.

Martha J. de Santos/Veitch

Martha J. de Santos/Veitch, 75, of Columbus, was born and raised in Tiffin and passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2002.

Surviving include: a son, Robin "Rob" (Cynthia) de Santos of Columbus; a daughter, Bonita (Irv) Ringler; a brother, Marvin (Donna) King; two sisters, Nancy (Richard) Beck and Alice (Henry) Kubiak; two grandchildren, Irvin Ringler and Amanda de Santos; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death were: her parents, Oliver and Mary King; husbands, Robert L. de Santos and Robert A. Veitch; a son, Robert Jr.; and a sister, Cleora Fraley.

Mrs. de Santos/Veitch was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. She retired from J.C. Penny and K-Mart and was employed by Encore Services.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2002 at Woodyard East Chapel, 2300 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, with The Pastor Ron Hagedorn officiating. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Fairmont cemetery, Tiffin.

Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel.

Kenneth O. Lidster

Kenneth O. Lidster, 74, 122 Longfellow Drive, Tiffin, died Friday, June 7, 2002, at his home.

He was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Beaverton, Mich., to the late Charles and Christina B. (Priest) Lidster. On Feb. 28, 1953, in Tiffin, he married Geraldine F. "Jerry" Frier. She survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Tim (Susan) Zack of Rothbury, Mich. and Mrs. Jim (Mary) Depinet of Tiffin; two brothers, James Lidster of North Pole, Alaska and Richard Lidster of Jackson, Mich.; five grandchildren, David, Scott and Brian Zack and Brenda and Ina Depinet and four great-grandchildren.

Five sisters, Dorothy, Wennie, Norma, Cleo and Donna and a brother, Harold Lidster are deceased.

Mr. Lidster, a member of the Protestant Faith, worked as a cement truck driver for 34 years for Louis O'Connell Company, retiring in 1984. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Panama.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 10, in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank A. Murd officiating. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens, with military graveside services conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Keith Edward Heil

Keith Edward "Tilt Patch" Heil, 44, of 289 Jefferson St., died at 4:45 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2002, in Fremont Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 18, 1958, in Toledo to Donald L. and Georgia D. (Simon) Heil of New Riegel. His mother is deceased. He married Tammy Foster, and she survives.

Other survivors include: his father of rural New Riegel; and a step-sister, Sandy.

He spent his lifetime in Tiffin; was a 1976 Mohawk High School graduate; self-employed as an amateur tattoo artist; and a member of Seneca Musselloaders.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2002, in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home, with burial in Seneca Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in care of his wife, Tammy.

Harold P. Snyder

Harold P. "Pete" Snyder, 86, of Upper Sandusky, died at 2:45 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2002, at his residence.

He was born April 17, 1916, in Wyandot County to Frank E. and Bessie (Hannum) Snyder. He married Mary Louise "Susy" Pool in Napoleon, Feb. 22, 1941; and she survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Wayne of Poway, Calif.; a daughter, Connie L. Cooper of Upper Sandusky; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Franklin of Tiffin, and Robert of Bucyrus; and a sister, Helen Snyder of Upper Sandusky.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday in the Lucas Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky.

The family will receive friends after the service Monday at the funeral home.

Violet Mae Smith

Violet Mae Smith, 78, formerly of 205 Buckeye Blvd., Port Clinton, and formerly of Tiffin and Toledo, died 4 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2002, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.

She was born Aug. 31, 1923, in Fremont to Frank A. and Anna Marie (Laubacher) Palmer. She married James R. Smith Oct. 10, 1942, in St. Joseph Church, Tiffin. He died April 16, 1968.

Surviving are: a son, Paul J. (Jan) Smith of Bellevue; two daughters, Diane M. (Doug) Chaffin of Newport, Mich., and Mary Ann (Greg) Hill of Port Clinton; eight grandchildren, Michael T. Taylor, Narell C. Sheets, Eric A. Smith, Jason M. Smith, Ryan P. Smith, Jessica E. Hill, Lucas B. Hill, Marshall L. Hill; five great-grandchildren, Dylan Taylor, Sarah Taylor, Michaela Sheets, Andrew Sheets and Gavin B. Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Dorothy Jean "Dottie" Lendo and a sister, Doris Huffman.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and had formerly lived in Toledo for 10 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton and formerly of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, at St. Joseph Church in Tiffin with the Rev. James K. Say officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, Tiffin.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home. Rosary will be 15 minutes prior to the Mass at the church.

William C. 'Bill' Rinker

William C. "Bill" Rinker, 90, of 249 W. Market St., Tiffin, died Friday, June 7, 2002, at Bellevue Hospital.

He was born Sept. 9, 1911, near Harrisburg, Va., to the late Mervin W. and Alice (Cowger) Rinker. He married Phyllis Souder Dec. 12, 1945, at the Trinity UCC parsonage, Tiffin. She died Oct. 12, 1980.

Surviving are: a son, Charles P. Rinker of Tiffin; a daughter, Mrs. Alice R. (Sours) Bostic of Galion; two brothers, Melvin F. Rinker of Tiffin and Roy V. Rinker of Puyallup, Wash.; two sisters, Edith Junkins of Arlington, Va., and Mrs. Irene (Richard) Woods of Tiffin; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Minor A. Rinker, Lester L. Rinker and Walter J. Weller; two sisters, Nellie Clady and Evelyn Price and a grandson.

Mr. Rinker has lived in Tiffin since 1913. Prior to working at National Machinery, he worked for several contractors as mechanic and in trucking. He worked at National Machinery for 13 years as a mechanic, retiring in 1973. Mr. Rinker also owned and operated Homestead Antiques for many years, which was located at 245 W. Market in Tiffin and was a member of Trinity United Church in Christ. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp. veteran, serving during World War II with the rank of staff sergeant, serving in the South Pacific.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home with the Rev. Laurie Hill officiating. Burial will be in Block cemetery in Republic. A graveside service will be conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Visitation will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Trinity United Church of Christ or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Margaret R. Kinn

Margaret R. Kinn, 78, of 11118 W. TR 96, Alvada, died at 1:38 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2002, at her home.

She was born June 11, 1923, in Seneca County to the late Oswald and Agnes (Wagner) Seifert. She married Paul L. Kinn April 3, 1948, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. He died Jan. 2, 1979.

Surviving are: four sons, Michael P. Kinn of Alvada, Harold "Bud" Kinn of Tiffin, Timothy L. Kinn of New Riegel and Gordon M. Kinn of Denver, Colo.; three daughters, Christine A. Williams of Alvada, Grace M. Brown of Mt. Blanchard and Gloria S. Earl of New Riegel; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren; nine brothers, John Seifert of Carey, Louis Seifert of Georgia, Harold Seifert of Michigan, Urban Seifert of Sandusky, Robert Seifert of Tiffin, William Seifert of Melmore, Oswald Seifert of Indiana, Thomas Seifert, of New London and David Seifert of Wyoming; two sisters, Helen Vadala of Tiffin and Ruth Wood of Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Roger W. Kinn; a brother, Albert Seifert; four sisters, Mary Babb, Dolores Szablewski, Dorothy Magers and Alice Magers.

Mrs. Kinn retired in 1988, as a registered nurse for more than 44 years, having worked at Fostoria City Hospital, Tiffin Mercy Hospital, and for Dr. E. Ley. She was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She belonged to St. Peter Catholic Church in Alvada and its Rosary-Altar Society; New Riegel Legion Post 354; Women of the Moose, New Riegel Chapter 253; lifetime member of Mercy Alumni Association, Toledo; Allen Eiry Senior Center, Tiffin; and the Catholic Nurses Association. Mrs. Kinn was a 1941 graduate of Calvert High School, Tiffin, and a 1944 graduate of Mercy School of Nursing, Toledo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Peter Catholic Church, Alvada, with the Rev. Leonard Kistler, C.PP.S., the Rev Harry Cananaugh, C.PP.S., and the Rev. Maurice Hayes, O.F.M. Conv., Deacon Lewis Reinhart officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter Parish cemetery, Alvada. New Riegel American Legion will conduct graveside military funeral honors.

Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Monday at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. Women of the Moose memorial service will be 2 p.m.; a Christian Wake at 3 p.m. and service by the New Riegel American Legion at 5 p.m. Monday at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, (419) 435-8200.

Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice of Toledo, Mercy Hospital of Tiffin, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
