Walter M. Tiell

Walter M. Tiell, 74, of South Toledo, passed away Monday, July 22, 2002, surrounded by his loving family.

Surviving are his wife, Vivian Marie Tiell; daughters, Darla (Terry) Broshious, Linda Cosgrove, Denise Currier, Jacalyn (David) Rohr; sister, Cathrine (Robert) Roth; brother, Florian "Pete" (Joyce) Tiell; special granddaughters, Kristi Tiell and Ashley Broshious, eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Lucy Tiell; daughter, Dorinda Tiell; brothers, Sylvester Jr. and Mark Tiell and sister, Ethel Gase.

Walter retired from Libbey Owens Ford, after 40 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the American Legion-Upper Sandusky Post, Knights of Columbus and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

Friends may call at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave., Toledo from 2-9 p.m. today with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be Wednesday, July 24 beginning with prayers at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1842 Airport Highway, Toledo. Interment will follow in Calvary cemetery.

Remembrances in Walter's name may be given to Hospice of NW Ohio or a charity of the donor's choice.

John Koons

John Koons, 48, 170 Melmore St., Tiffin, died 11:50 p.m. July 23, 2002, from injuries of a car accident in Howe, Ind.

He was born Feb. 20, 1954, in Bowling Green, to Wallie Koons and RoseMary (Simon) Koons. They survive in Bowling Green. On Oct. 26, 1974, he married Anita (Kissell) Koons at the Old Trinity Episcopal Church. She survives in Tiffin.

Also surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Holly (Jeremiah) Dauch of Tiffin and Mrs. Heather (Jason) Young of Columbus; two grandchildren, Alec Wagner and Logan Dauch, both of Tiffin; a brother, David Koons of Bowling Green; and two sisters, Teresa Bechstein and Kathy Koons, both of Bowling Green.

Mr. Koons was a graduate of Bowling Green High School Class of 1972. He worked for McDonald's Corp. for 31 years as a business consultant. He also was employed at Sadexho as a general manager. Mr. Koons was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Tiffin Elks.

Funeral will be noon on Friday, July 26, 2002, at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home with the Monsignor Edward Dunn officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Elks Club or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Harry 'Ike' Jacob Aichholz

Harry "Ike" Jacob Aichholz, 60, was born to eternal life on Wednesday, July 24, 2002, following a one-year illness.

He was born Jan. 27, 1942, in Bucyrus and has lived most of life in New Washington, where he owned and operated Ikes Electrical and Heating. He was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington, a volunteer and officer of the New Washington Fire Dept. for 36 years; Cub Scouts leader and Scout Master in Bellevue and New Washington; active member of the American Legion in New Washington, where he was a promoter of Buckeye Boys State and was a member of the National Guard. He loved camping with family, enjoyed playing dartball, and had volunteered in various village organizations.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley J. (Payne) Aichholz, whom he married Jan. 15, 1966; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Jamie Aichholz of Willard, Steve and Ellen Aichholz and David and Lisa Aichholz, all of New Washington; six grandchildren, Cody, Kaitlyn and Jacob Aichholz of Willard and Larai, Makayla and Madison Aichholz of New Washington; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Trisha Aichholz and family of Elgin, Ill. and Duane and Linda Aichholz and family of New Washington; a sister and brother-in-law, Sharon (Aichholz) and Bill Houseworth and family of Shelby; and a great aunt and uncle, Ronald and Violet Aichholz of New Washington.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Weldon and Susannah (Harper) Aichholz.

The funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. at the St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington, with Fr. Robert Dendinger officiating. Burial will be at the St. Bernard Catholic cemetery in New Washington.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday and 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. on Saturday at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington.

Memorials may be made to the St. Bernard Catholic Church, New Washington Library or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Dorothy J. Picciuto

Dorothy J. Picciuto, 74, of 107 Westwood Drive, died at 6:25 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2002, at Seneca House in Tiffin.

She was born June 3, 1928, in Cromers to William and Margaret (Smith) Bitler. On Jan. 5, 1948, she married Salvator Picciuto in Indiana. He preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1998.

Surviving are: a son, Douglas Picciuto of Tiffin; two brothers, Bruce Bitler of Seattle, Wash., and Calvin Bitler of North Carolina; two sisters, Virginia Newton of Hudson and Mary Kay West of Bucyrus; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

William M. Boogher

William M. Boogher, 79, of 458 Lawrence St., Bellevue, died Thursday, July 25, 2002, at the Bellevue Care Center.

He was born Jan. 30, 1923, in Clarksburg, W.Va., to William M. Boogher and Regina (Dunn) Boogher. On July 3, 1948, he married Eula June (Butz) Boogher. She survives in Bellevue.

Other survivors include: two sons, Michael Boogher of Fremont and Jim Boogher of Bellevue; three daughters, Carol Bernon of West Barnstaple, Mass., Marie Jarrett of Monroeville, and Pat Schoch of Fremont; a brother, John Boogher of Toledo; two sisters, Rita Bohlen of Sylvania and Suzanne Weis of Cincinnati; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Boogher was a World War II Navy veteran.

Funeral was 10 a.m. Saturday at the Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue. Burial was in Bellevue Catholic cemetery.

Pamela J. Hall

Pamela J. Hall, 41, of 16619 TH 45, Wharton, died 5:30 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2002, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

She was born Dec. 2, 1960, in Upper Sandusky to Richard W. and Patricia A. (Gatchell) Williams. On Aug. 6, 1981, she married Tony R. Hall in Upper Sandusky. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are: two sons, Anthony W. Hall and Spencer "Spanky" R. Hall, both of Wharton; a daughter Brooke R. Hall of Wharton; three sisters, Cindy Brunty of Sycamore, Deb Frey of Upper Sandusky and Vickie Gonzalez of Toledo.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mildred E. Jones

Mildred E. Jones, 96, of 600 Fox Run Road, Findlay, and formerly of Bloomville, died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at Fox Run Manor.

She was born March 3, 1906, in Bloom Township, to Willard E. and Ida (Laipply) Stuckey. On May 25, 1935, she married Clarence V. Oller. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1982. She then married Lynden C. Jones on April 26, 1985. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2002.

Survivors include: a son, Thomas V. Oller of Findlay; a daughter, Mrs. Nola (Howard) Heilman of Lima; two step-daughters, Mrs. Carole (George) Kessler of Republic and Mrs. Sandra (Ron) Webb of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Creeger of Fort Seneca; two grandsons, Tim Oller of Findlay and Jeff Oller of Lancaster; two great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Wilbur, Daniel, Forest and Doyle Stuckey; and a great-grandson, Owen Oller.

Mrs. Jones was a linotypist for the Bloomville Gazette for 51 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of the Bloomville United Church of Christ; the Daughters of America; the Bloom Community Grange and a fifth, sixth and seventh degree Grange member; and a 1924 Bloomville High School graduate.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, at the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3985 S. SR 19, Bloomville, with the Rev. Cathy Wirth officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Bloomville.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

Dorothy J. Picciuto

Dorothy J. Picciuto, 74, of 107 Westwood Dr., Tiffin, died 6:25 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2002, at Seneca House in Tiffin.

She was born June 3, 1928, in Cromers to William and Margaret (Smith) Bitler. On Jan. 5, 1948, she married Salvator Picciuto in Indiana. He preceded her death on Jan. 17, 1998.

Surviving are: a son, Douglas (Judy) Picciuto of Tiffin; a nephew, Donald Bitler, whom Dorothy and Salvator raised since he was age 9, of Hilliard; two sisters, Virginia Newton of Hudson; Mary Kay West of Bucyrus; two brothers, Bruce Bitler of Seattle, Wash., Calvin Bitler of North Carolina; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Claudine Thallman and a brother, Robert Bitler.

Mrs. Picciuto retired from General Electric Company in Tiffin. She had also been a dairy manager and union steward at Food Town. She was a 1945 graduate of Old Fort High School, and attended one year of nurse's training in Frederick, Md. Mrs. Picciuto was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tiffin.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, (419-447-3113), with the Rev. Richard Dunn officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery.

Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care.

Quinn A. Hoffman

Quinn A. Hoffman, 28, of Erie Street, Tiffin, died 12:50 a.m. Sunday, July 28, 2002, in an auto accident on SR 53, Catawba Island.

He was born Sept. 29, 1973, in Fostoria to Darrel "Rick" and Karen (LaFountaine) Hoffman Jr.

Surviving are: his parents, Rick and Karen Hoffman of Fostoria; a sister, Kelly Hoffman of Cross Junction, Va.; three nephews, Corey, Codey and Caylor Cochran of Cross Junction, Va.; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Anna (Peter) LaFountaine of New Riegel, paternal grandparents, Darrel and Helen Hoffman, Sr of Fostoria.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Brian Hoffman and a grandfather, Peter LaFountaine.

Mr. Hoffman was a 1992 graduate of Fostoria High School and member of the Chamber Chorale at Fostoria High School. He was employed as an Engineer for the Findlex Corp., traveling to Japan many times. He enjoyed golfing, cars and electronics. Mr. Hoffman attended St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, with the Reverend Mark Bowers officiating. The Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery in Fostoria.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria, with a Scripture service at 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Redmen Music Boosters.

Raymond Douglas 'Buzz' Cooley

Raymond Douglas "Buzz" Cooley, 73, 1 Teakwood Court, Tiffin, died at 10:20 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2002, at his residence.

He was born July 27, 1929, in Seneca County, to the late Raymond and Fannie (Day) Cooley. On Jan. 24, 1953, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, he married Evelyn Schock, who survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Dean (Frieda) Cooley of Tiffin, four daughters, Debra (Rudolph) Reddish, Deanna (Gary) White, Denise (Brad) Arnold and Danette Kopp, all of Tiffin; 15 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary (Bill) Brigman of Bowling Green.

A son, Michael Cooley; two brothers, Charles and Donald Cooley; and two sisters, Alice Jean and Beverly Mae Cooley, also are deceased.

Mr. Cooley, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church retired from the National Machinery Company. He had also been a police officers for the City of Tiffin and worked for the Seneca County Sheriff Department and the Upland Police Department in California.

A United States Army veteran,1948-1952, he also served in Japan during the Korean Conflict 1950-51. He was a member of the 19th Regiment 24th Division. He was wounded in 1950 and received the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantry Badge, He also served in Germany.

He was a life member of VFW Post 2858 and the Disabled American Veterans and a member of American Legion Post 169, Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Department and served on the Commission for Seneca County Veterans Services.

A Memorial Mass will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Msgr Edward Dunn officiating. The rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Memorial Mass. Private burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery with the United Veterans Council conducting military rites.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, (419) 447-3113. A VFW Post 2858 service is at 7 p.m. followed by a wake service at 7:45 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Calvert Foundation and Community Hospice Care, in care of Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Marcheta Van Camp

Marcheta (French) Van Camp, 75, of 2913 S. Twp. Rd. 159, Tiffin, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.

She was born Nov. 5, 1926, in Upper Sandusky to the late Ross and Mabel (Failor) Mann French. On July 16, 1949, she married Warren Van Camp at the Washington Street United Methodist Church in Tiffin. He survives in Tiffin.

Also surviving are: a stepbrother, Richard Mann of Florida.

Mrs. Van Camp was a 1944 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and attended Miami University. She retired as an office worker from Sterling Abrasive after 42 years of service. She was a member of the Allen Eiry Senior Center and the Washington Street United Methodist Church.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 31 at the Greenlawn cemetery Chapel, with the Rev. Greg Sellers officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care, the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library or to a charity of the donor's choice.

The Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Delores 'Lori' T. (Haubert) Etzwiler

Delores "Lori" T. (Haubert) Etzwiler, 79, of Chestnut Street, Fremont, died Monday, July 29, 2002, at home.

She was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Millersville to Isidor and Agnes (Wagner) Haubert. On Jan. 25, 1947, she married George L. Etzwiler. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2002.

Surviving are: three sons, Vincent G. Etzwiler, Michael S. Etzwiler and Christopher L. Etzwiler; two daughters, Sharon M. Ohms and Marcia M. Etzwiler, all of Fremont; four sisters, Victoria Schoch of Fremont, Rosalie Neeb of Helena, Thelma Miller of Fremont and Mary Ann Sanchez of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Loren A. Etzwiler; three brothers, Vincent, Vernis, and Ira Haubert.

Lori was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Nothing was more important to her than her family. She was a great animal lover and also loved working in her flower gardens. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Etzwiler was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; V.F.W. Auxiliary 2947 and the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 2, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fremont, with the Father Mark Herzog of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Millersville.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, August 1 at the Wonderly-Horvath Funeral Home, 425 E. State St., Fremont. There will be a prayer vigil at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Mobil Meals, Children's Grief Camp/Camp Great Escape (Hospice)

Wilda L. Wilkins

Wilda L. Wilkins, 81, of Fremont, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, in Fremont Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Crawford County, Sept. 20, 1920, to U.A. and Cora E. (Mollenkopf) Raush.

She married James Willkins Oct. 24, 1941, in Mohawk Village, Ohio. He survives along with twin sons, Larry (Patricia) and Gary (Judy) Wilkins, both of Fremont, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brothers, Wilber Roush of Melmore and Robert Roush of Bloomville; and sisters, Wilma Blakkolb (Wilda's twin) and Roma Shellhouse, both of Tiffin.

Mrs. Wilkins, a homemaker, greatly enjoyed crafts, craft projects, walking and reading. A 1938 graduate of Lykens High School, she was a member of Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church, Fremont.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, in the Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch St., Fremont.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church.

Harry M. 'Moe' Byrne

Harry M. "Moe" Byrne, 83, of 73 Douglas St., Tiffin, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at his home.

Arrangements are pending at the Hoffman-Gottfried Funeral Home.
