Robert E. Burr

Robert E. Burr, 74, of Arch St., Clyde, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at Fremont Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 17, 1927, in Clyde to Robert J. and Hazel E. (Nearhood) Burr. On May 17, 1949, he married Juanita (Jackson) Burr. She survives in Clyde.

Other survivors include: two sons, Robert J. Burr of Sumter, S.C. and David A. Burr of Clyde; a brother, Melvin R. Burr; a sister, Barbara Ann Parker, both of Lakeland, Fla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Burr was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1946-1949.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde. Burial will be in McPherson cemetery in Clyde, where Military graveside rites will be provided by the Clyde American Legion and the Clyde V.F.W.

There will be no visitation.

Janet L. Dahms

Janet L. Dahms, 66, of Risingsun, died 4:35 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

She was born Feb. 16, 1936, in Risingsun to Durbin and Alice (Mathias) Few. In December of 1959 she married Ansel Dahms.

Surviving are: her mother, Alice Few of Risingsun; her husband, Ansel Dahms of Helena; two sons, Jeffery Dahms and Michael "Brett" Dahms, both of Risingsun; three daughters, Mrs. Teresa Brown of McCutchenville, Kristina Dahms of Fostoria and Brenda Dahms of Risingsun; a brother, William Few; a sister Mrs. Carolyn Tyson, both of Risingsun and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial will be at Trinity cemetery near Risingsun.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Carl E. Fox

Carl E. Fox, 81, 135 N. Monroe St., Tiffin, formerly of CR 226, Fostoria, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2002, in Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born Sept. 23, 1920, in Fostoria, to the late John D. and Effie Mae (Stultz) Fox. On June 30, 1943, in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, he married Mary Jane Mabus. She survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include: two sons, John Fox of Republic and Richard Fox of Tiffin; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Virginia) Donaldson of Canton, Mich.; five grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. George (Dorothy) Stainbrook of Bowling Green.

A daughter, Patricia Fox and three sisters, Lulu Zuern, Clara Siegchrist and Bessie Clouse, preceded him in death.

Mr. Fox, a retired farmer and employee of St. Wendelin High School, Fostoria, was an avid dart ball player. He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, 55 Plus Club and Loudon Center Grange.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where a rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, with a Christian wake service at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the church.

Frances Amelia Clark

Frances Amelia Clark, 86, of Cambridge, Ohio, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at the Red Carpet Health Center, following a lengthy illness.

She was born March 9, 1916, in England. She married Ralph Jessie Clark Sr. during World War II. He preceded her in death in June 1974.

Surviving are a daughter, Edie Wood of Tiffin; six other daughters and two sons in southern Ohio; a son in Nevada; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Cambridge. Burial will be in Adamsville.

Memorials may be made to Hospice.

Annie R. Moyer

Annie R. Moyer, 66, of 630 W. Center St., Fostoria, died at 7:14 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at her residence.

She was born June 17, 1936, in Manchester, Tenn., to John and Zora Mae (West) Farrar, both deceased. She married Herbert E. Moyer July 14, 1957, in Bryan; and he died April 12, 1999.

Survivors include: three sons, Michael E., John W. and Richard J. Moyer, all of Fostoria; three daughters Vickie S. Dull and Charlotte "Char" Snow of Fostoria, and Connie S. Ratliff of Lagrange, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Jr. and Carl Farrar of Manchester, Tenn.; and two sisters, Helen Stephens of Manchester, Tenn. and Evelyn Bryant of Ashbury, Tenn.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at Blantons Chapel cemetery in Manchester, Tenn.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Saturday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Tressie B. Hammer

Tressie B. Hammer, 80, of Independence House and formerly of 542 Stinchcomb Dr., Fostoria, died at 2 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at Independence House, Fostoria.

She was born June 5, 1922, in Bucyrus to Homer E. and Erma Floydie (Chance) Gatchell, both deceased. She married Clarence E. Hammer Nov. 1, 1942, at Holy Trinity Church, Bucyrus; and he died March 15, 1990.

Survivors include: a son, David E. Hammer of Cincinnati; three daughters, Maria L. Shrider of Findlay, and Jeannette A. Arbogast and Erma J. Kummerer both of Fostoria; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and a brother, James R. Gatchell of Bucyrus.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m., Monday, in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, with interment in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia.

Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.

Jan E. Lovelace

Jan E. Lovelace, 43, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at Community Health Partners, Lorain.

She was born in Columbus Aug. 25, 1958, to Clarence and Noretta (Clemmer) Baker of Tiffin; and they survive. She married David S. Lovelace, and he survives along with: three daughters, Amanda of Toledo, McKenna and Alena both at home; a brother, Rick Baker of Tiffin; and a sister, Theresa Spelich of Raleigh, N.C.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, in the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, Amherst, Ohio, with burial in St. Joseph cemetery, Amherst.

Visitation is noon-3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Paul R. King

Paul R. King, 84, 4370 W. TR 112, Tiffin, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at his home.

He was born Aug. 28, 1917, in Tiffin, to the late Glenn and Flossie (Feasel) King. On June 1, 1946, in St. Joseph Church, Tiffin, he married Rosemary Ross. She died April 21, 1995.

Surviving are: four sons, Ronald, Michael, Barth and John King, all of Tiffin; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Paulette) Thorpe of Charlevoix, Mich. and Mrs. William (Debra) Sherman of Tiffin; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A brother Dale King is deceased.

Mr. King, a truck driver for Standard Oil Company for 31 years, was a member of Standard Oil Quarter Century Club, St. Joseph Catholic Church, V.F.W. Tiffin Post 2858 and the Million Mile Club.

A World War II veteran, he entered the U.S. Army in 1941, trained at Fort Belvoir, Va. and served in the AP. He was awarded AP and PL ribbons, four Bronze Stars, a Distinguished Unit Citation and GCM. He was discharged in 1945.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tom Ankenbrandt officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, with the United Veterans Council conducting military graveside rites. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to V.F.W. Post 2858 or a charity of the donor's choice.

Kenneth 'Sam' R. Stover

Kenneth "Sam" R. Stover, 79, of 404 S. Sycamore Ave., Sycamore, died at 11:55 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, in Eaglewood Care Center, Carey.

He was born June 27, 1923, in Belle Vernon, Ohio, to Frank and Cleo (Hill) Stover; and they are deceased. He married Evelyn Montz Sept. 22, 1948; and she survives.

Other survivors include: five sons, Mr. Dennis A. Stover of McCutchenville, Mr. Lee C. Stover of Republic, Mr. Barry K. Stover of Sycamore, Mr. Bruce R. Stover of Granger, Ind., and Mr. Joe H. Stover of Everett, Wash.; a daughter, Ms. Theresa Stover of rural Upper Sandusky; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five brothers, Mr. Robert Stover of Sycamore, Mr. Donald Stover of Carey, Mr. Nelson Stover of Carey, Mr. Gerald Stover of Nevada, and Mr. Ronald Stover of Tiffin; and two sisters, Mrs. Marilyn Hughes of Columbus, and Mrs. Annabelle Hewitt of Fort Wayne, Ind.

A brother, Franklin Stover, is also deceased.

He was a 1942 graduate of Sycamore High School. He was an Army veteran. During World War II, he served in the Asiatic receiving two Bronze Stars and Purple Heart. He was a retired heavy equipment operator; of the Protestant Faith; member of Enterprise Lodge 579 F and A.M., Sycamore, Sycamore American Legion Post 250, Local 18 Operating Engineers; and loved to fish and hunt.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, in the Pleasant Ridge cemetery, Sycamore, with the Rev. Roy Howell officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by Sycamore American Legion Post 250.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

There will be no visitation.

Walton-Moore Funeral Home of Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.

George F. Speck

George F. Speck, 89, of Troy, died at 8:15 a.m., Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 7, 1912, in Tiffin to Frank and Loretta (Rhorbach) Speck. He married Doris Harding and she died in 1956. He then married AnnaLee Lippincott and she died in 1985.

Survivors include: two sons, Don L. Speck of Lexington, Park, Md., and Robert H. Speck of Troy; a daughter, Nancy LaChey of Troy; a step-daughter, Mary Lee Ogle of Arcanum; and five grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with burial in Riverside cemetery, Troy.

Visitation is two hours prior to funeral with Masonic Lodge Memorial Service at 10 a.m.

Stephen K. McCarley

Stephen K. McCarley, 36, of Marseilles and formerly of Carey, died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, from injuries in an automobile accident.

He was born March 25, 1966, in Findlay, to Karl "Marion" and Carol L. (Prescott) McCarley.

Surviving are: his parents, Karl and Carol McCarley of Carey; a sister, Mrs. Andrea C. Ostrander of Sylvania; two nephews, Jay and Jonah Ostrander of Sylvania; and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Juanita L. Prescott of Carey.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carey.

Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

The Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey is in charge of the arrangements.

Luther Miller

Luther Miller, 78, of 201 South Main St., Attica, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 31, 1923, in Willard to the late Luther P. and Rose (Utz) Miller. He married Joanne (Shank) Miller. She survives in Attica.

Other survivors include: a son, Richard A. Miller of Fostoria; two daughters, Carol (Gene) Frankart of Attica and Lois (Tim) Walsh of Lakewood; and three grandchildren, Amanda Frankart of Attica, and Hannah and Andrew Walsh of Lakewood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.

Mr. Miller retired from Pioneer Rubber Co. in Attica where he worked as a stationary fireman. He was a member of the Attica United Methodist Church.

Funeral will be 6 p.m Wednesday at the Attica United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Thomas Kalb officiating.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Attica United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.

The Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, Attica, is in charge of the arrangements.
