James L. Piggue

James L. Piggue, 73, formerly of Cherry Street, Fostoria, died at 2:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at his residence in Fostoria.

He was born July 6, 1929, to Elvin and Ada (Banks) Piggue. He married Rosemary "Pete" Tate March 7, 1955, in Lima, and she died March 29, 1993.

Survivors include: a son, Keith Tucker of Fostoria; three daughters, LuAnn Cooper and Kris Tucker of Fostoria, and Nanci L. Piggue of Toledo; five grandchildren; a brother, Willie Piggue of Detroit; and a sister, Ann Sengall of Fostoria.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria, followed by military graveside rites by the United Veterans of Fostoria at Fountain cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Ronald F. Hohman

Ronald F. Hohman, 52, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, in his home in Columbus.

Mr. Hohman was the Property Tax Administrator for the State of Ohio. He was a graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School in Bascom where he was the valedictorian and achieved a master's degree in economics from Ohio University. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; children, Ben F., Allison J. and Zach P. Hohman; mother, Regina Hohman; brothers, Dennis (Marsha) Hohman, Dave Hohman, Bernie (Mary) Hohman, Kenny (Rita) Hohman and Paul (Pat) Hohman Jr.; brothers-in-law, Mark (Dee) Highland, Steve (Denise) Highland; sister-in-law, Christine (Grant) Rephann; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday Dec. 26, 2002, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 E. North Broadway in Columbus, with Msgr. Anthony Missimi celebrant. There will be a private family inurnment.

In lieu of flowers, contributions, if desired, may be made to the Cancer Foundation of your choice or the Hohman Children College Fund, Clintonville Fifth Third Bank, 3580 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43214.

Arrangements made by the Southwick-Good Funeral Chapel.

Eugene E. Fraley

Graveside burial services for Eugene E. Fraley, 77, of Tiffin, who died Dec. 18, 2002, at Autumnwood Care Center, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, at Greenlawn cemetery.

Military rites will be conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Julius V. Gerhardstein

Julius V. Gerhardstein, 91, of Sandusky CR 175, Clyde, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.

He was born Feb. 18, 1911, in Bellevue, to the late Robert and Cecilia (Ball) Gerhardstein. He married Catherine (Martin) Gerhardstein Oct. 23, 1945. She survives.

Also surviving are: two daughters, Laurie Brown and Donna Gerhardstein, both of Fremont; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Gerhardstein was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Pacific Theater.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Bellevue. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery, Bellevue.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Auxter Funeral Home in Bellevue.

Raymond D. Conner

Raymond D. Conner, 71, of Burkholder Road, Clyde, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at his residence.

He was born July 9, 1931, in Indiana, to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Conner. He married Beverly (Mesnard) Conner June 21, 1961. She survives.

Also surviving are: a son, Charles Howell; two daughters, Cathy Long of Clyde and Rayona Slaughter of Moore, Okla.; eight grandchildren, 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Borders of Indiana and Edgar Tye of California; four sisters, Betty Coyle of Indiana, Eleanor Beillnowski of Arizona, Joan Humphry of New York and Janice Nolan of California.

Private family services have been observed.

The Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Florence M. Fritz

Florence M. Fritz, 92, formerly of 815 Upton Road in Fremont and also formerly of Elmwood Assisted Living, 430 North Broadway in Green Springs, died 8:10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at Bethesda Care Center in Fremont.

She was born April 24, 1910, in Adams Twp., Seneca County, to Orrin A. and Edna L. (McNutt) Miller. She married George W. Fritz on July 20, 1931, in Fort Wayne, Ind. He died on Dec. 30, 1993.

Surviving are: a son, Rev. Geraland L. Fritz of Fremont; a daughter, Loretta M. Wise of Old Fort; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; a step brother, Dale Shimer of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orrin and Edna Miller, a son, Orrin B. Fritz; a grandchild; two sisters, Inez Barrick and Lela Rogers and a step sister.

Mrs. Fritz was a graduate of Green Springs High School, Class of 1928 and was a homemaker. She was formerly a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fremont and its Altar Guild. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of 4H. She attended Grace Brethren Church in Fremont.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24 at Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs, with the Rev. Ward J. Tressler officiating. Burial will be in Green Springs cemetery.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until the time of the Service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Community Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Nancy L. Ross

Nancy L. Ross, 60, of Lemon St., Clyde, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, in Bellevue Hospital.

She was born Jan. 10, 1942, in Sandusky Co., to Clark and Rita (Stevens) Welch. She married Thomas C. Ross, Sr. on Nov. 3, 1962. He survives.

Also surviving are: a son, Thomas C. Ross, Sr. of Clyde; a daughter, Lori Webb of Fremont; three grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two sisters, Reba Richards and Loma Smith, both of Bellevue.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde. Burial will be McPherson cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Norman 'Shorty' Wiedle

Norman "Shorty" Wiedle, 74, formerly of SR 101, Clyde, died at the home of his daughter on W. Jefferson St., Sandusky.

He was born April 1, 1928, in Clyde, to the late George and Ida (Young) Wiedle. He married Joyce (Harper) Wiedle on June 17, 1949. She died March 4, 1999.

Surviving are: two sons, Robert Wiedle of Bellevue and William Wiedle of Fremont; a daughter, Betty Jo "Bo" Riedy of Sandusky; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a brother, Howard Wiedle of Clyde.

Graveside Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Parkhurst cemetery. Burial will be in Parkhurst cemetery.

Visitation will be private.

Clifford J. Yeisley

Clifford J. Yeisley, 80, of CR 320, Vickery, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, in Fremont Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 22, 1922, in Tiffin, to Walter and Rosetta (Griffin) Yeisley. He married Jeanette Pask Pearson Yeisley. She survives.

Also surviving are: a daughter, Jeanie Hilvers of Vickery; two grandchildren, Dawn Witter of Sandusky and Stacy Hilvers of Chicago; and a sister, Mary Jo Hensinger of Tiffin.

Mr. Yeisley has been a resident of Vickery since 1952. He was owner and operator of Yeisley Radiator Shop in Tiffin. Mr. Yeisley was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. He was a member of the Tiffin American Legion, Green Springs VFW and Clyde Moose.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde, with the Rev. Ron Gerlach officiating. Burial will be in Parkhurst cemetery, with military graveside rites provided by the Clyde VFW and Clyde American Legion.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Townsend Township Fire Department.

Genevieve Perin

Genevieve Perin, 82, of Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, died 2:35 a.m. Dec. 24, 2002, in Hospice Care Center in Akron.

She was born Feb. 3, 1920, in Green Springs, to Clarence and Catherine (Bimer) Dietzel. She married Robert Perin on Sept. 1, 1937, in Cleveland. He died in 1984.

Surviving are: a son, James Perin and wife, Barbara, of Cleveland; three grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Dietzel of North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Catherine Dietzel; and a son, John Perin. Her daughter-in-law, Anne Perin, survives in Akron.

Mrs. Perin was a homemaker and life-long resident of Green Springs. She graduated from Green Springs High School, Class of 1937. She was a member of Seneca Rose Grandmothers Club and Golden Threads of Fremont Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Perin spent many winters in Florida.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28 at the Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs, with the Rev. Dan Ritter officiating.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 Friday, Dec. 27, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Christopher P. Salyer

Christopher P. Salyer, 17, of 371 Frederick St., Carey, died 8:27 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.

He was born Jan. 13, 1985, in Marion, to Paul D. Salyer and Linda F. (Dyer) Salyer.

Surviving are: his father, Paul D. Salyer of Indiana; his mother, Linda F. Salyer of Carey; maternal grandmother, Marietta Dyer of Carey; paternal great-grandmother, Beulah Salyer of Carey; and two sisters, Kelly R. Varkonyi of Lakewood and Jenny Elliott of Hurleyville, N.Y.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mildred M. 'Millie' Allgyre

Mildred M. "Millie" Allgyre, 76, of 3293 CR 23, Burgoon, died 6:35 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at the home of her daughter in Sycamore.

She was born Aug. 19, 1926, in Mount Olive, Miss., to Ernest and Mabel (McKenzie) Roberts. She married Richard A. Allgyre on May 25, 1944, in McGee, Miss. Her husband of 58 years survives.

Also surviving are: a son, Darl C. (Shirley) Allgyre of Starks, La,; a daughter, Mrs. Ron (Judy) Bryant of Sycamore; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Javis L. Roberts of Pearl, Miss.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Roberts and Mabel Roberts-Stine; two infant children, Richard Wayne and Gloria Sue; and a son, Larry, who died in March 1965 at the age of 16.

Mrs. Allgyre was a homemaker and was a very active member of the First Baptist Church in Tiffin for many years. She was a current member of the Burgoon United Methodist Church.

Funeral will be noon, Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Engle Funeral Home of Bettsville, with the Rev. Mickey McManus and the Rev. Martha Gross officiating. Burial will be in Smith cemetery.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice or to the American Cancer Association.

Larry Bruce Strauch

Larry Bruce Strauch, 54, 33 Coe St., Tiffin, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

He was born May 30, 1948, in Fremont, to Lloyd W. and Lois H. (Daub) Strauch. His father survives in Tiffin and his mother died in 1992. He never married .

Other survivors include: a brother, Lloyd K. Strauch of North Fort Myers, Fla.; a sister, Susan Bessken of Green Springs; and a nephew and five nieces.

Mr. Strauch served in the Ohio Army National Guard with the Tiffin Military Ambulance Unit.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, with military graveside services provided by the United Veterans Council.

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mildred Heinselman

Mildred Heinselman, 95 1/2, formerly of 821 Kilbourne St., Bellevue, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, in the Bellevue Care Center.

She was born April 18, 1907, in Bellevue, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Swartzlander) Moyer. Nov. 21, 1943, she married Albert Everhardt. He died in 1955. She later married Rolla Heinselman Oct. 15, 1960 and he died in 1972.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William (Sharon) Covert of Bellevue and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Auxter Funeral Home, Bellevue. Interment will be in Bellevue cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the funeral Saturday at the Auxter Funeral Home.

Clarence E. Pickett

Clarence E. Pickett, 76, of 603 W. Fremont St., Fostoria, died 7 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, in St. Francis Health Care Centre in Green Springs.

He was born Feb. 9, 1926, in Fostoria, to John C. and Alice (Florea) Pickett. He married M. Anita (Wasserman) Welch Pickett Nov. 25, 1970, in Tiffin. She survives in Fostoria.

Also surviving are: two stepsons, Dr. Ronald Welch of Litchfield, Maine and Kenneth L. Welch; a stepdaughter, Lucille Danilowicz of Whitesboro, N.Y.; four step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Pickett of Stow; and a sister, Thelma Blosser of Risingsun.

Mr. Pickett was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery with military graveside rites by the New Riegel American Legion.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home.
