Earl Alvin Atwood Jr.

Earl Alvin Atwood Jr., 69, of Delaware, Ohio, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Grady Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 4, 1933, to Earl and Emma Atwood.

Mr. Atwood was a 1952 graduate of Linden-McKinley High School. He was a former employee for Watson Motor Rebuilder and Mauger Exterminating.

He was past president and member of the Ohio Pest Control Association and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tiffin.

Preceding him in death were three sisters, Imogene Sievert, Gertrude Bryant and Miriam "Mimi" Atwood.

Survivors include: his wife, Patricia J. Atwood; children, Richard Atwood of Kissimmee, Fla., Teri (Gary) Mompher of Delaware, Robert (Tracy) Atwood of Houston, Texas, Scott (Beverly) Atwood of Columbus, and Deborah (Paul) Muhlbach of Delaware; grandchildren, Aric, Wendi, Justin, Kari, Galen, Ian and Jade; a sister, Dorothy (Jack) Dawson; many nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Rudy.

Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, where funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2003, with Pastor Gary Halstead officiating. Interment will be at Riverside cemetery.

Margaret Ann Daniel

Margaret Ann Daniel, 79, of 21 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

She was born Dec. 29, 1923, in Tiffin, to Blaine C. and Nellie M. (Bartlebaugh) McClure. They are deceased.

She married Herman Daniel and they later divorced. He died Dec. 27, 1987.

Survivors include: two daughters, Ellen K. Mangin of Tampa, Fla., and Lauren A. Daniel of Tiffin; a brother, Blaine McClure Jr. of Lima; grandchildren, Cole Mangin and Stephanie D. Mangin-Hileman and a great-grandchild, Justin T. Hileman.

Preceding her in death were: a son, Stephen Daniel; and two sisters, Florence K. Guttner and Marian J. McBride.

Mrs. Daniel was a 1941 high school graduate and attended Heidelberg College and Tiffin University. She was branch secretary for Blue Cross of NW Ohio for 16 years, retiring in 1986.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry L. Boylan and the Rev. John Teeters officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation, American Diabetes Association, or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Victor Corbin

Victor Corbin, 46, of 220 E. High St., Fostoria, died at 11:05 a.m. Sunday, April 6, 2003, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 28, 1956, in Bowling Green, to the late Franklin and Daisy (Garner) Corbin.

Survivors include: a son, Victor Lee Corbin of Kentucky; two daughters, Melanie Corbin of Cygnet and Tiffany Corbin of Kentucky; four grandchildren; four brothers, James Corbin of Tennessee, Bill Corbin and Franklin Corbin, both of Fostoria, and Randy Corbin of Findlay; three step-brothers, John Taulker and Rodney Taulker, both of Bradner, and Howard Taulker of Fostoria.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hoening Funeral Home in Fostoria with the Rev. James St. Clair officiating. Burial will be in St. Wendelin Parish cemetery, Fostoria.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

David R. Boehler

David R. Boehler, 48, of 134 Oak St., Tiffin, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 6, 2003, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 11, 1954, in Tiffin, to Donald F. and Frances (Brown) Boehler. His father is deceased. His mother, Frances DiCesare, survives in Tiffin. He married Lisa Boehler and they are divorced.

Other survivors include: a son, Thane David Boehler; a daughter, Tyne Ashley Boehler, both at home; a brother, Donald (Jane) Boehler of Marshalltown, Iowa; a sister, Margaret (Thomas) Stimmel of Tiffin. He is also survived by three nephews, Dan and Mike Stimmel and Eric Boehler; and a niece, Christine Boehler; three grandnephews and two grandnieces.

Mr. Boehler was a 1972 Calvert High School graduate. He was a maintenance foreman at Taiho corporation for 10 years.

Mr. Boehler was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He was a Brown's Backer, played dartball and pool, and was a NASCAR enthusiast.

The Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2003, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Frank Murd officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, OH 44883 (419) 447-3113.

A Wake service will be at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to David's children, St. Mary's Church, or to a charity of the donor's choice, in care of Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Walter C. 'Farm' Ferkel

Walter C. "Farm" Ferkel, 89, of CR 231, Clyde, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, in Memorial Hospital, Fremont.

He was born Aug. 20, 1913, on CR 231, Clyde, to the late William and Emma (Young) Ferkel. His first wife, Dorothy (Holtz) Ferkel, whom he married Jan. 20, 1948, died June 19, 1981. He later married his second wife, Marian (Hawk) Wahl Ferkel, on July 9, 1983. She died Nov. 11, 2002.

Surviving are a son, Tom (Cheryl) Ferkel of Clyde; a daughter, Linda (Robert) Burks of Tiffin and a step-son, Galen Wahl (Stella) of Clyde; six grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Ferkel of California and Ralph Ferkel of Clyde; and three sisters, Wilma Schmidlin of California, Esther Linder and Irene Wolf, both of Fremont.

A son, Robert Ferkel; two brothers, Lawrence and Raymond Ferkel; and a sister, Ruth Palmer, also are deceased.

Mr. Ferkel, a farmer and lifetime Clyde area resident, received his education at Chippawa School. A member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde, he also was a former dart ball player and former member of Men of Mission at the church.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde, with the Rev. Gerry Gosnell officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today, April 8, at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde.

Memorials may be made to the General Fund at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Elizabeth Crawford

Elizabeth "Betty" Crawford, 76, formerly of St. Louis St., Toledo, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, in the Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin.

She was born in Tiffin Jan. 31, 1927. Her mother, Mary Lowe and her husband, Ray Crawford, are deceased.

An aunt, Martha Wagner of Tiffin and many cousins, survive.

Friends will be received in the Hoeflinger Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave., Oregon, Ohio 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, where services will begin at 2 p.m. Interment is in Restlawn Memorial Park.

Mariam J. Mills

Mariam J. Mills, 84, 7 W. Market St. Apt. 212, Tiffin, died at 2:18 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2003, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. Arrangements are pending at Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

William Richard Brown

William Richard Brown, 58, of Fostoria, and formerly of Detroit, Mich., died at 11:23 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born Aug. 2, 1944, in Detroit, Mich., to Richard Brown and Laura (Jennings) Brown-Hunt.

Mr. Brown was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Funeral will be at noon on Wednesday at the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria, where Military graveside rites will be conducted by the United Veterans of Fostoria.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the serves on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Jean L. Trapp

Jean L. Trapp, 85, 42 Blair St., Tiffin, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at her residence.

She was born June 23, 1917, in Toledo, to the late Raymond and Louise (Platt) Graveldinger. Her husband, George L. Trapp, whom she married in November 1936, died in 1972.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret (Ron) Culver and Mrs. Susan L. Feasel, both of Tiffin; two sons, Mr. Richard B. (Kattie) Trapp and Mr. Joel L. (Patty) Trapp, both of Tiffin; Tiffin; 11 grandchildren: Jodi Papp, George Trapp, Becky Lang, Richard Trapp II, Ericka Barrett, Jennifer Moore, Matthew Feasel, Dana O'Quinn, Jamey Feasel, David Culver and Jennifer Phillips; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A brother, John Graveldinger is deceased.

Mrs. Trapp, a graduate of Columbian High School, retired from the Tiffin Center in 1983. She lived most of his life in Tiffin and was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 11, in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Scott Hayward officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Mariam J. Mills

Mariam J. Mills, 84, 7 W. Market St., Apt. 212, Tiffin, died at 2:18 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2003, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

She was born June 6, 1918, in Tiffin, to the late Harry E. and Iva (Raudabaugh) Ringle.

Surviving are a son, Michael J. Mills of Tiffin; a daughter, Linda Lou Krichbaum of Layton, Utah; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lillian Fuller of Fostoria.

A life time resident of Tiffin, Mrs. Mills had been the head cook at Tiffin University. She was a Columbian High School graduate.

There will be no service. Burial will be at a later date in Fairmont cemetery.

There will be no visitation. The Turner-Engle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Kiwanis Manor.

Dianna Kelbley

Dianna Kelbley, 64, formerly of Upper Sandusky, died at 2:10 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2003, at the Lakeland Regional Hospital in Lakeland, Florida.

She was born Nov. 19, 1938, to the late Ernest and Dorothy (Pell) Rhoden in Kinniconick, Ky. She is survived by her husband Robert Kelbley, Lakeland; daughters Marjorie (Cusick) Shoemaker, Upper Sandusky; JoEllen Simonsen Gatchel, Nev.; stepdaughters Abby Myeress and Jennifer Kelbley, both of Columbus; and Nicole Cramer, Findlay; four grandchildren; sisters Betty Reed, Bluffton; Rosalind Swankhouse, Rhetta Bennett, and Susie Greilich, all of Upper Sandusky; a brother Darrell Rhoden, Palmdale, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral. The family will receive those wishing to pay respects 2-6 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the home of her daughter JoEllen, at 310 S. Main St., Nevada. Her ashes will be interred in a private ceremony.

William J. Wolf

William J. Wolf, 93, formerly of 30 Goodsell St., Tiffin, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at Elmwood At The Shawhan in Tiffin.

Arrangements are pending at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.

Dorothy J. Matthews

Dorothy J. Matthews, 82, of 291 Hedges St., Tiffin, died at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2003, in St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.

Arrangements are pending at Turner-Engle Funeral Home.

Robert Louis Michaels

Robert Louis Michaels, 84, of Sandusky CR 175, Clyde, died Monday, April 7, 2003, in Bellevue Hospital.

He was born June 14, 1918, in Ballville Township, Tucker Road, in Fremont, to the late Ervin and Maude (Bowers) Michaels. On Aug. 11, 1945 he married Lois (Lenhart) Michaels. She survives.

Also surviving are: three sons, Gary Michaels, Haldon Michaels and Rodney Michaels, all of Clyde; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and three sisters, Opal Saionz, Maribel Hetrick and Melva Murphy, all of Fremont.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Willis Edwin Skilliter

Willis Edwin Skilliter, 70, of South CR 260, Clyde, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, in Fremont Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 29, 1932, in Sandusky Co., Fremont, to the late Thomas John and Emma Amelia (Wott) Skilliter. On Oct. 4, 1969 he married Iris (Condon) Skilliter. She survives.

Also surviving are: two daughters, Theresa Herman of Gibsonburg and Brenda Fisher of Clyde; two grandchildren and two step grandchildren; a sister, Berniece kleber of Fremont.

Mr. Skilliter was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1951-1955.

The funeral will be Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will be in McPherson cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde and also 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Dorothy J. Matthews

Dorothy J. Matthews, 82, of 291 Hedges St., Tiffin, died at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2003, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

She was born Aug. 22, 1920, in Shade, Ohio, to Arthur and Libbie (Martin) Burson. They are deceased.

On April 4, 1944, she married Rolla B. Matthews. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are: a son, Paul B. Matthews of Tiffin; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; also great nieces and nephews; two very special friends, Kathy Cummings and Linda Lonsbury; and a sister, Inez Sunkell of Shade.

Preceding her in death were; four brothers, Rosco Burson, Ted Burson, Albert Burson and Paul Burson; and three sisters, Catherine Slusher, Dana O'Brien and Mary King.

Mrs. Matthews had a baby sitting service and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Jacob's United Church of Christ and a past member of the Tiffin Eagles and Tiffin Moose.

The funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2003, in St. Jacob's United Church of Christ with the Rev. Mark Booster officiating. Burial will be in Burson cemetery in Shade, Ohio, at a later date.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jacob's United Church of Christ.
