Ella Mae Fausey

Ella Mae Fausey, formerly of Clyde, and most recently of Elmwood Assisted Living in Green Springs, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

She was born June 7, 1918, in Drew County, Ark., to the late Kenneth and Mary Eula (McClain) Durst.

Surviving are: two sons, Doyle G. Fausey of Port Clinton and Lamar M. Durst of Clyde; a brother, Edwin Durst of Cardington; and a sister, Edna Patton of Clyde.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde. Burial will be in Bakertown cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Cecilia V. Borer

Cecilia V. Borer, 79, formerly of 213 Circular St., Tiffin, died at noon, Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at Autumnwood Care Center.

She was born Aug. 28, 1923, in New Riegel, to Anthony and Clara (Hoepf) Borer.

Surviving are: three sisters, Anna (Vincent) Bentz of Fostoria, Mrs. Herman L. (Agnes) Mathias of Carey, and Martha (John) Kirchner of Tiffin; many nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceding her in death were: parents, and two sisters, Catherine Carp and Isabella Steinmetz.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Rosary-Altar Society.

Ms. Borer attended St. Joseph School. She loved bingo, making ceramics, reading, and listening to Polka music.

The Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. James K. Say officiating. The Rosary will be recited at 10:15 at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 13 at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, OH 44883 (419) 447-3113.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Faye L. (Carrick) Brown

Faye L. (Carrick) Brown, 69, of Attica, died at 5:14 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at Firelands Hospital in Sandusky.

She was born April 21, 1934, in Seneca Co., to the late Alton and Clare (Young) Carrick.

Arrangements are pending and in the care of the LIndsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service in Attica.

Jane E. Carlson

Jane E. Carlson, 84, the last granddaughter of George and Nona France of Perrysburg, died Monday, June 2, 2003, in Sarasota, Fla.

Mrs. Carlson is survived by her son, Arthur Carlson of Wash., D.C. and a brother, George A. France of Albuquerque, N.Mex.

Mrs. Carlson's father, George A. France was a major contributor to Heidelberg College, having built France Hall in the early 1900s as a memorial to his mother, Mrs. Carlson's grandmother. In addition, the France Stone Company was active financially, as well as having France employees and friends oversee the growth of Heidelberg College through to the 1980s.

Part of Mr. Frances legacy to the college was a Trust called the "Nona G. France Student Loan Fund," which will pass to the college following the demise of the last of the France children.

Michael James Berrier

Michael James Berrier, of 14 West St., Bloomville, Stillborn, Tuesday, June 10, 2003, in Mercy Hospital of Willard.

Graveside services are pending. The Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Joseph P. Millott

Joseph P. Millott, 65, of Bergenfield, N.J., died June 13, 2003.

He was born and raised in Sandusky. Mr. Millott lived in Bergenfield, N.J., for over 40 years. His wife Eilleen "Patsy" Millott died in 1993. His father, Richard H. Millott, and brothers, Richard W. and David Millott are deceased.

Surviving are: his mother, Betty M. Klostermeyer, a sister, Patricia (Jim) Shertzer, aunt, Eleanor (Fred) Amann, all of Tiffin. Also, his children and their spouses, Michael (Maureen) Onorato, Mark (Debbie) Onorato, Patty (Bob) Rusch, Jr., and five grandchildren, Brittany, Chelsea and Jimmy Onorato, and Adam and Kyle Rusch, all of New Jersey.

Mr. Millott retired in 2003 from Sears Roebuck Company where he work as a service technician for 15 years in Maywood, N.J.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 961 in Teaneck, N.J., the American Legion Post 0128 in Teaneck, N.J., and the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 1477 in Bergenfield, N.J. Mr. Millott was a parishioner at St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Bergenfield, N.J.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 17, at St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Bergenfield, N.J., with private interment.

Donations in Mr. Millott's memory may be made to the Moose Lodge 961, 201 W. Englewood Ave., Teaneck, NJ 07666.

Arrangements are by the Frech Funeral Home, 101 Washington Ave., Dumont, N.J. 07628.

James A. Ward

James A. Ward, 78, of 107 W. Adams St., Green Springs, died at 2:15 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2003, at his residence.

He was born May 30, 1925, in Payne, to Nelson and Zelma Eurella (Harshman) Ward. On Oct. 8, 1949, he married Phyllis Drown. She survives.

Also surviving are: a son, Daniel Kopp of Ashland; a daughter, Diana Kay Hammer of Green Springs; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild; a brother, Daniel Ward of Midland, Mich.; and three sisters, Alice Johnson of Oakwood, Louise Dickeroff of Paulding, and Jean Morton of Akron.

Mr. Ward was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Engle-Young Funeral Home in Green Springs. Burial will be in Green Springs cemetery with graveside military services conducted by the American Legion Post 295 and V.F.W. Post 6067.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Ruth Ada Buton
Tiffin native

Ruth Ada Buton, 90, of 197 Picadilly Lane, Gray, Tenn., died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, in the Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tenn.

A native of Tiffin, having moved to the Gray area in 1979, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Wilson. Her husband, Earl C. Buton, died in 1986.

Surviving are a daughter, Dr. Edith Summerlin of Dallas, Texas; a son, Earl C. Buton Jr. of Woodstock, N.Y.; a sister, Margaret Carpenter of Oregon; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Also preceding her in death were a sister and three brothers.

A member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Tiffin, Mrs. Buton retired from the General Electric, also in Tiffin, after 28 years of employment.

Services will be 8 p.m. Monday in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home-South Chapel, Johnson City, with Dr. Dwight Kilbourne and the Rev. W.D. Garman officiating. Graveside services for family and friends will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Washington County Memory Gardens, Johnson City.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 6-8 p.m. Monday.

Ned Trent Bowling
R.R. Donnelley retiree

Ned Trent Bowling, 59, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, at his residence at 24 Woodwind Drive, Attica.

He was born in West Virginia, March 22, 1939, to the late Leslie and Ermintrude (Bridges) Bowling. On July 6, 1979, in Tiffin, he married Mary Y. Kagy. She survives.

Other survivors include: five sons, Kenny Bowling of Florida, James Hershberger of Tiffin, Tom Hershberger of Westerville, Curtis Hershburger of Norwalk and Steve Hershberger of Attica; three daughters, Toni Wheeler of England, Melanie of Texas and Christine Cahill of Tiffin; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Bowling of California, James Bowling of West Virginia and Dale Bowling of Georgia; and two sisters, Mary Jane Shannon of Michigan and Gypsy Weiss of West Virginia.

Two brothers, Frank and Bill Bowling, also are deceased.

Mr. Bowling, a member of Attica Eagles Aerie 4112, retired Dec. 1, 1995, from R.R. Donnelley and Son, Willard, after 35 years of employment.

Services in the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Home, Attica, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Diane C. Grohmann, pastor of Bloomville United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Fairwell Retreat cemetery, Republic.

Visitation at the funeral home is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care, 182 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin, Ohio 44883.

Leona Buckman
Homemaker

Memorial services for Leona Buckman, 83, 338 Main St., who died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998, will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Lutheran Church.

The Rev. John S. Ferne will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery.

Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, St. Francis Home or Community Hospice Care.

Mildred Pauline Ward
North Toledo resident

Word has been received of the death of Mildred Pauline Ward, 92, who died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, at her home in North Toledo.

Born June 1, 1906, in Alexandria, Ind., to Edward R. and Loretta Lillian (Linn) Hogle, she was the widow of both Gayord H. Henshaw, who died in 1951 and Tiffin resident Henry B. Ward, who died in 1977.

Surviving are three sons, the Rev. Jack E. Henshaw of Glasgow, Ky., Thomas G. and Richard L. Henshaw, both of Toledo; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Betty J. Henshaw.

There was no visitation and services were private.

Velma K. (Perry) Gray
Vel-Kay Beauty Salon owner/operator

Velma K. (Perry) Gray, 74, of 1020 Buckley St., Fostoria, died at her residence at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 1998.

She was born in Cygnet, June 16, 1924, to William A. and Hazel I. (Hampshire)Perry. Her husband, Kenneth E. Gray Sr., whom she married Oct. 28, 1942, in East Randolph, N.Y., died in October 1991.

Survivors include: a son, Kenneth E. Gray Jr. of Bloomdale; a daughter, Shirley I. Cogar of Jackson, Tenn.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Mrs. Lavon (Helen) Grau of Holgate, Mrs. Lura Brown of Flat Rock, Mich., Mrs. Dallas (Wilma) Rettig of Napoleon, Mrs. Paul (Joyce) Drain of Portage and Mrs. Leroy (Eva Mae) Drake of Bloomdale.

Also deceased are three brothers, Leonard, Lauren and Darrell Perry; and three sisters, Mrs. Donna Jean Gustwiller, Argyle Gressler and Mrs. Adealia Smith.

Mrs. Gray, a beautician/hair stylist, was the owner of Vel-Kay Beauty Salon in Fostoria, retiring in 1976 after 18 years of service.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Fostoria.

The Rev. Brandson Hawkes will officiate at the 10 a.m. Wednesday graveside service in Memory Gardens, near Arcadia.

The Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Fostoria Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Fostoria Home Health Care.

Arlene Richard
Nevada resident

Arlene Richard, 66, of 149 River Drive, Nevada, Ohio, died at 6:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, in Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.

Arrangements are pending at Bringman-Clark and Company Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky.

Ramon Rodriguez
Golf course/country club employee

Ramon Rodriguez, 66, of Spring Avenue, Clyde, died in the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo, Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998.

He was born in Sinton, Texas, Sept. 1, 1931, to the late Padro and Manuela (Lozano) Rodriguez. On Sept. 1, 1956, he married Modesta Lopez and she survives.

Survivors also include: two sons, Michael Rodriguez of Maumee and Rueben Rodriguez of Fremont; two daughters, Mrs. Leon (Rita) Garza and Mrs. Antonio (Diana) Palos, both of Fremont; and 11 grandchildren.

Mr. Rodriguez, who received his education in Texas, formerly had been employed at Al's Shoprite, Green Hills Golf Course, Clyde and Fremont Country Club (1996-97). He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde.

The Rev. John Nagele will be the celebrant at the 10:30 a.m. Saturday funeral Mass in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, where the Rosary will be recited at 9 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the family.

William Leonard 'Bill' Kowpak
Retired electrician

William Leonard "Bill" Kowpak, 78, died at midnight Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, at his 23 Frost Parkway home.

Born Jan. 25, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Nicholas and Maria (Holnyk) Kowpak, he married Catherine Rooney in 1943. She preceded him in death in 1958. On June 15, 1968, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, he married Alberta Falter and she survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Peter Kowpak of Sandusky and Zane Kowpak of Huron; two daughters, Debra Longmire of Albany, Calif. and Karen Lester of Waycross, Ga.; three sisters, Catherine Begovich of Astoria, Long Island, N.Y., Helen Russo of Queens, Long Island, N.Y. and Emily Rodriguez of Rio Grande, Puerto Rico; a brother, Peter Kowpak of Centereach, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Paul and Alexander Kowpak, and a granddaughter are deceased.

Mr. Kowpak, a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Tiffin VFW Post, retired in 1980 as an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 129.

He served in the Aleutian Islands as a corporal technician in the U.S. Army during World War II.

A funeral Mass in St. Mary Catholic Church, will be 10 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Frank Murd officiating. The Rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul cemetery, Attica, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at the Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, where a parish Wake service will be at 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care, 182 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, or in care of the funeral home.
