Mildred A. Mullholand
Retired cafeteria worker

Mildred A. Mullholand, 83, of 98 W. Adams St., McCutchenville, died at her home at 9 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 1998.

Born June 30, 1914, in Summitt County, to Elmer E. and Mary B. (Cunningham) Campbell, she married Paul G. Mullholand, April 5, 1935. He died Oct. 12, 1963.

Surviving are a son, Paul E. Mullholand of Del City, Okla.; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Janet R.) Wagner of McCutchenville; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, John Campbell of Sycamore; and three sisters, Leta Weaver of McCutchenville, Mrs. LeRoy (Edith) Frey of Mendon and Mrs. Tony (Margaret) Serean of Delaware, Ohio.

Preceding her in death were a brother, Donald Campbell; a sister, Grace Campbell; five half sisters and a half brother.

A retired cafeteria worker, Mrs. Mullholand had been employed at McCutchenville School for 23 years.

She was a member of Crawford United Methodist Church, Crawford, Ohio, and the Mohawk Sixty Plus Club, Sycamore.

The Rev. Cindy Morrison will be the officiant at the 11 a.m. Thursday service in the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore. Burial will be in Bethel cemetery, McCutchenville.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Mohawk Sixty Plus Club or the McCutchenville Community Center.

Earl L. Gooch
Union Carbide retiree

Earl L. Gooch, 80, of Findlay, died at 3:37 a.m. Monday, May 18, 1998, in Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.

He was born July 6, 1917, in Andover, Ohio, to John E. and Minnie R. (Craun) Gooch. His wife of 62 years, Eleanor (Hummel) Gooch, survives in Findlay.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Beverly Matthews of Bloomdale, Carol Barmore of Tempe, Ariz., and Donna Douglass of Double Oak, Texas; a brother, Ellis Gooch of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Mildred Miller and Velma Smith, both of Findlay and Mary Alice Eblin of Bloomdale; two grandchildren, a step-grandchild, five great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

A World War II U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Gooch retired in 1981 from the Union Carbide in Fostoria.

He was a member of Central Church of Christ, Fostoria Eagles, Findlay Moose and the North Baltimore American Legion.

Services in the Mann-Hare Funeral Home, Findlay Chapel, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. James C. Platner officiating. Interment will be inMemory Gardens, near Arcadia.

Visitation at the funeral home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Mildred E. Baum
Retired nurse's aide

Mildred E. Baum, 87, 2365 C.H. 35, Sycamore, died at 12:20 a.m., Thursday, May 14, 1998, at the Wyandot County Nursing Home. She was born on Oct. 9, 1910, to William and Hattie (Gantz) Sims in Moundsville, W.V. On April 21, 1946, she married Kenneth W. Baum, and he survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Paul A. Baum of Sycamore; a daughter, Mrs. John (Carol) Bertholf of Mansfield; and three grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a son, William Baum, and a brother, Harold Sims.

Mrs. Baum was a 1929 graduate of Magnolia High School inFairmont, W.V. She retired as a nurse's aide from Fairhaven Community and Wyandot Manor, Upper Sandusky. She was a member of the North Salem Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir for more than 30 years.

The Rev. Howard Stroble will officiate the 11 a.m. service Saturday, May 16, at the North Salem Lutheran Church. Burial will be at North Salem cemetery R.R., Uper Sandusky.

Visitation hours are from 6-9 p.m., today at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sandusky. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service on Saturday.

Memorials may be made to the North Salem Lutherine Church or Mohawk Community Library.

Ronald L. Vitte
Retired Atlas Crankshaft employee

Ronald L. Vitte, 60, 227 W. Lytle, Fostoria, died Thursday, May 14, 1998, at his residence. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria.

Robert Dewey Ogg
Lifelong farmer

Robert Dewey Ogg, 77, of 1845 Crystal Ave., Findlay, formerly of McCutchenville, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 1998, in Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay.

He was born in Carey Jan. 9, 1921, to Dewey Samuel and Ida Victoria (Walter) Ogg. His wife, Dorothy J. (Mericle) Ogg, whom he married Nov. 21, 1941, survives.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Britton of Carey, Mrs, Michael (Betty Jane "Bet") Wagner of Findlay, Mrs. Joseph (Jenny) Emert of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Mrs. Rob (Vicki) Charlton of Vanlue; a son, Steven L. Ogg of McCutchenville; 10 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Mrs. William (Mary) McRill of Mt. Blanchard and Mrs. David (Idabell) Ford of Fairbanks, Alaska; and two brothers, Chester Ogg of Sebring, Fla., and Jack Ogg of Findlay.

Mr. Ogg, a lifelong farmer, attended Memorial United Methodist Church, Carey.

A World War II U.S. Army veteran, having been stationed in Japan, he was a member and trustee of the Hancock County Camp Meeting Association, Findlay.

The Rev. Christopher Craven and the Rev. Buck Traylor will officiate at the 11 a.m. Saturday service in Ridge Chapel Church of the Nazarene, Carey. Interment will be in Spring Grove cemetery, Carey.

Visitation at the Stombaugh Memorial Funeral Home, Carey, will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Memorials may be made to God's Bible School, Cincinnati, or Bible Methodist Church Building Fund, Findlay, in care of the funeral home.

Edith E. Arend
Former Fostoria resident

Edith E. Arend, 89, of Lorain, formerly of Fostoria, died at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 1998, in the Hospice Residential Center, Lorain.

She was born Jan. 8, 1909, in West Independence, to John W. and Theresa (Yost) Emerine. On Oct. 8, 1938, in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, she married Clifford D. Arend. He died May 11, 1991.

Surviving are three daughters, Rosemary Butler and Joanne Fillhart, both of Fostoria, and Janet Caskey of Tiffin; a son, James C. Arend of Lorain; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold Emerine of Fostoria.

A graduate of St. Wendelin High School, Mrs. Arend had been employed at Autolite for five years, worked as a cook at the Fostoria Country Club and Good Shepherd Home and also worked at the Kroger Store, all of Fostoria.

She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, its Rosary Altar Society and the Fostoria Eagles Auxiliary Golden Eagle 430, where she was a life member.

A funeral Mass in St. Wendelin Catholic Church, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, with the Rosary recited at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation at the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, where the Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. and Eagles Auxiliary Memorial services will be at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Joe D. Ellis
Retired wool, fur buyer/farmer

Joe D. Ellis, 82, of 700 N. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky, died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 1998, in the Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus.

He was born in Crane Township, Wyandot County, April 17, 1916, to Gilbert S. and Bessie C. (Troup) Ellis. His wife, Mildred L. (Kagy) Ellis, whom he married July 14, 1951, died Feb. 24, 1973. On Oct. 19, 1975, he married Christine E. Reams, and she survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Mark J. Ellis of Upper Sandusky and Ned P. Ellis of Morral; a daughter, Mrs. Dallas (Mary B.) Brocklesby of Upper Sandusky; a stepson, Walter E. Reams of Tempe, Ariz.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Gary (Rita) Bader of Marion; eight granddaughters, five step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rueben J. Ellis of Upper Sandusky and Myron T. Ellis of Houston, Texas; and two sisters, Martha Jane Mewhorter of Upper Sandusky and Mrs. James (Virginia) Lovingood of Scottsboro, Ala.

Preceding him in death were two sisters, Elizabeth McDaniels and Anna Myrtle Bookmyer; a stepson, Robert Reams; and a grandson.

A retired wool and fur buyer, Mr. Ellis farmed part of his life in Crane Township. He also was a former salesman for Upper Farm Service, Upper Sandusky and was the co-owner of the Harpster Elevator in the late 1940s.

He was a 1934 graduate of Eden Township High School.

A Crane Township trustee for 24 years, he also coached the Lions Little League Baseball Team for five years and was a member of Bud's Social Club, the Joint Township Board of Wyandot Memorial Hospital and John Stewart United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher, all of Upper Sandusky.

A World War II U.S. Air Force veteran, having served 30 months overseas with the 30th Air Depot Group, he was honorably discharged as a master sergeant and while in the service coached the 30th Group softball team. He also was a member of American Legion Post 225 and was a former member of Warpole Masonic Lodge, both of Upper Sandusky.

The Rev. Lenn Geiger and the Rev. Sandra Spahr will conduct the 11 a.m. Friday service in John Stewart United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Upper Sandusky.

Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Bringman and Company Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, and at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Memorials may be made to Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Wyandot County Hospice or the church.

Eldon L. DeMuth
Native of Tiffin

Eldon L. DeMuth, 79, of Lake Placid, Fla., died Monday, May 11, 1998, in Highlands Medical Center.

He was the son of Frank and Myrtle (McClure) DeMuth. His wife, Doris Mae DeMuth, survives.

Survivors also include: four daughters, Mrs. William (Sandra) Degler of Hanover Park, Ill., Elaine Grete of Howell, Mich., Gayle Campbell of Powell and Faye Rickert of Bradenton, Fla.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a daughter, a sister and two brothers.

Mr. DeMuth, a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, had been employed as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.

A resident of the Lake Placid area for 14 years, he was a member of Lake Placid Elks, Moose Lodge of Bellevue and the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Placid.

Services in the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Placid, are 11 a.m. today, with the Rev. Raymond Cameron officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery, Tiffin, at a later date.

Visitation was held Wednesday in Lake Placid.

The Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Seneca County Unit.

Clarice L. Love
Stepmother of Attica/Tiffin residents

Clarice L. Love, 79, of Woodbine Street, Willard, died Wednesday, May 13, 1998, in Mercy Hospital of Willard.

She was born in rural Attica, to Jennie (Leddick) and LCD Neikirk. On March 28, 1976, she married Richard B. Love, and he survives.

Also surviving are a sister, Alverta Turick of Connecticut; a brother, Hollie Stout of Willard; stepchildren, Patricia Shatzer of Tiffin, Linda Lutz of Willard and James Love of Attica; 11 step-grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Yochum in 1973; an infant son; and three sisters, Norpha Williams, Thelma Paull and Eunice Love.

Mrs. Love was a graduate of Willard High School.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Attica Venice cemetery, with the Rev. David Culp officiating.

Memorials may be made to Shriner's Children Hospital, Tampa, Fla., in care of the family or the funeral directors.

The Secor Funeral Home of Willard, is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy B. Kelbley
Rural Fostoria homemaker

Dorothy B. Kelbley, 80, of 380 S. TR 21, Fostoria, died in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, at 2:33 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 1998.

She was born in Tiffin, March 22, 1918, to Anthony W. and Bernice M. (Ringle) Gurney. Her first husband, Marion Smith, whom she married Oct. 11, 1952, in St. Joseph Church, Tiffin, preceded her in death April 7, 1961. On Aug. 6, 1968, in St. Mary Church, Tiffin, she married Clarence Kelbley. He preceded her in death Jan. 14, 1998.

Surviving are a son, Charles E. Smith of Fostoria; and a sister, Mrs. Calvin (Joan) Morgan of Tiffin.

A brother, Wade Gurney, is also deceased.

Mrs. Kelbley, a homemaker, also worked for 10 years at Hopewell-Loudon High School as a cook and cafeteria worker. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria.

A funeral Mass in St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Frank A. Murd officiating. The Rosary will be recited at the church at 10:15 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery.

Visitation at the Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home is 7-9 p.m. today.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Granville Clifford Kirkwood
American Standard retiree

Granville Clifford Kirkwood, 83, of rural Tiffin, died Monday, May 11, 1998, in Elmwood Nursing Home, Sandusky County, Green Springs, where he had been a patient since October 1997.

He was born Feb. 24, 1915, on Egypt Road in Huron County, to Guy Clark and Jessie May (Billiard) Kirkwood. On Aug. 30, 1933, he married Arlene Chaffee, and she survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Philip (Carole) Widman of Tiffin and Mrs. Vincent (Madonna) Widman of Clyde; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl Kirkwood of Forestville, Md.; and a sister, Viola Hillis of Willard.

Also preceding him in death were two grandchildren, Joseph and Paul; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Wade and Lloyd Kirkwood.

Mr. Kirkwood, who had attended Attica High School, retired as a caster from the American Standard.

A 64-year Seneca County area resident, he was a member of the American Standard Credit Union Board and served as a Union representative.

The Rev. Howard Huston will officiate at the 11 a.m. Thursday service in the Turner-Engle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rock Creek cemetery.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Melmore United Methodist Church or Immaculate Conception School, Bellevue.
