Kaleb Michael Clark
September 13, 2008 - January 15, 2010

Kaleb Michael Clark, our miracle heart transplant baby, was called home to Heaven on January 15, 2010. Kaleb’s constant smile and
sweet disposition was a blessing to all of us who loved him, and each day spent with him was God’s gift to us.

Born in Columbus, Ohio on September 13, 2008, Kaleb was preceded in death by his brother Kyle Matthew, by whose side he’ll rest at Sunset cemetery.

Kaleb is survived by his dad and mom, Jeremy and McKenna, his big brother Ethan, paternal grandparents Daniel and Kathy Wiant, and maternal
grandparents Lloyd and Rhona Willis, and Trish Willis. He was also loved by and will be missed by his aunts, uncles, cousin, and countless friends.

Calling hours will be on Monday, January 18, 2010 from 6 pm- 8 pm at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL 3030 West Broad Street, Columbus.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 2 pm at the Sunset cemetery Chapel.

Richard A. Shank
September 7, 1931 - January 16, 2010

Richard A. Shank, age 78, of Columbus, died Saturday, January 16, 2010. Dick was born September 7, 1931 in St. Paris, OH, and was raised and educated in Enon, OH by his mother, Dorothy and grandparents, Lester and Nellie Dunlap. In 1951, Dick graduated from Enon High School and entered the U.S. Navy. He served during Korean on the U.S.S. Henley as an electronic technician. He was honorably discharged and moved to Springfield, OH, where he married Wilma Crossland, and attended Wittenberg University. Dick and Wilma raised 5 children in Springfield, stressing the importance of education. Dick was a teacher and basketball coach at Shawnee High School for many years and was the principal at Hustead Elementary School. His dedication for fundraising at the school led him to a career in sales. After retiring from sales, Dick and Wilma moved to Columbus to be closer to their children. Preceded in death by his grandparents, mother, Dorothy; and wife, Wilma. Richard will be missed by his children, Karen Kramer, Kevin (Ronda) Shank; Kim (Don) Whisman; Kari (Dwayne) Justice; and Kendra (Larry) Leach; 15 grandchildren, Andy, Sarah, Tom and Katie Kramer; Kellee Murley and Kameron Shank; Jodi and Derek Whisman and Chelbe (Eric) Heminger; and Brent, Kyle, Cody and Tristan Justice; and Erin and Erica Leach; and 4 great-grandchildren, Kanyen, Evan, Austin, and Austin. Dick believed strongly in the value of education and was always dreaming of projects to educate his children and grandchildren. Dick loved creating family traditions and was an avid OSU football fan. Funeral services 11am Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, 2300 Lytham Rd., Columbus, Rev. John C. Stolzenbach, officiating. Interment in Wesley Chapel cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday, from 3-7pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus.

Dorothy May Scholz
September 4, 1926 - January 25, 2010

Dorothy May Scholz, age 83 of Westerville, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010. Dorothy “Dot” was born on September 4, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Frank and Sarah Garner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Scholz, her beloved brother, Frank Garner, and sister, Mary Garner Baker. Survived by her son, Don (Lisa) Householder; granddaughter, Sarah (Jen) Householder-Wise; and great grandchildren, Jack, Grady, and Grant Householder-Wise. Dorothy loved spending time with her great grandsons, watching Ohio State football games, and in her younger years, she was very active in the Lutheran Church. Funeral Services will be held at 3 P.M. Thursday, January 28, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., where family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until time of service. Pastor Eric Williams officiating. Private family interment immediately following service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the North Congregational United Church of Christ, 2040 Henderson Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43220.

Deborah "Debby" Wilson
August 3, 1949 - February 11, 2010

Deborah K. “Debby” Wilson, age 60, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010. Debby was born August 3, 1949 in Eden, NC. She graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Education and Foreign Language. After college graduation, Debby and Phil, got married on June 12, 1971. In 1985 they moved to the Columbus area where Debby taught preschool first at Little School on the Prairie, then at Cypress Christian Preschool, and most recently served as administrator at ABC Christian Preschool at Briggs Road Baptist Church. Debby and Phil together enjoyed travelling as well as music. Debby was a vocal solo artist, and she loved to dance. She was a best friend to her husband and family. Debby is preceded in death by her father, Everette McAlister; grandmother, Eula Shively; and aunt, Lorraine Campbell. She is survived by her loving husband, Phillip Wilson; mother, Carnelle (Shively) McAlister; daughters, Michi Wilson (Stan Holland) and Karen Wilson (Phil Hayes); grandsons, Avery and Owen; brothers, Michael and Larry; other family and many friends. A celebration of her life will be held with a visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, February 15 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL 1740 Zollinger Rd. and 10 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 16 at Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church 1636 Graham Rd., Reynoldsburg. Pastor David Holdren will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Debby’s memory to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

David E. Swayne
May 10, 1955 - February 17, 2010

David E. Swayne, age 54, departed this life on February 17, 2010. He is survived by his father and mother, James and Gloria Swayne; brothers, Jerry (Delores) Swayne, Donald (Charlotte) Swayne, Charles (Rosalind) Swayne, Robert (Lisa) Swayne, Rex Swayne, and John Swayne; sisters, Deborah (Kenneth) Tidwell, Sharon (Jerry) Butler, Paula (Van) Boone, Judy (Cliff) Wiley, and Rosella (Clark) Kellogg. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Flintridge Missionary Baptist Church, 3330 Scottwood Rd., where family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until time of service. Reginald A. Moore, Sr. Pastor officiating. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate.

Robert (Bob) R. Risinger
June 18, 1940 - February 25, 2010

Robert (Bob) R. Risinger, 69, of Columbus, Ohio went home to be with the Lord Thursday, February 25, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen Risinger; brother, Richard Risinger; sister, Sharon Clark and daughter, Laura Forby. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Beth; children, Eric Risinger, Charles (Patty) Risinger, Bret (Terry) Bodell, Tina (John) Chubb and Scott Risinger; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Griggs, Mary June Robbins; sister-in-law, Herberta Vallee; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Dave O’Carrol and many other relatives and friends. Robert retired after 33 years with Penn-Central (Hostess Cake) where he left with driving honors. Prior to working at Hostess, he worked at Timken Roller Bearing and Corrigated Container. Robert was an all-star pitcher with the Westside Boys Club, where he also worked for many years. He coached Little League and Pony League baseball for Walnut Heights Youth Athletic Association. He was an avid golfer and took a great interest in World War II history. Robert was also a member of Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church. Robert had a plethora of friends throughout the years and enjoyed many special times and laughs with his friends at India-Oaks. Visitation will be held 3:00-7:00PM Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL 5554 Karl RD. where the funeral service will be held 10:00AM Monday, March 1, 2010. Rev. Michael Carter
January 25, 1977 - March 8, 2010

Michael Carter, 33, of Toledo, and formerly of Worthington, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010. Mike was born January 25, 1977 in Columbus to Ben and Elaine (Newman) Carter. He was a 1995 graduate of Thomas Worthington High School and a graduate of Bowling Green University. For the past 10 years, Mike has been working as a Market Research Analyst for TNS in Toledo. Mike was known for his quick wit and sarcasm. He had many close friends with whom he would do anything for, and especially enjoyed spending time with his niece, nephews and friend’s children. He was very caring and loving, and his generosity and big heart will always be cherished by those closest to him. Mike enjoyed playing video games with his friends, collecting comic books and action figures, and was an avid Star Wars and Boston Red Sox fan. Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, LaVerne and Ben Edwards and uncle, Herbert Mullins. Michael will be missed by his parents, Elaine and Ben Carter, Jr., sister, Jennifer (Andy) Fenner; maternal grandmother, Iris Newman; niece and nephews, Jason, Micah, and Hannah Fenner; numerous aunt, uncles, and cousins, and his cats, Hammy and Boo. A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be 2pm Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Sawmill Covenant Church, 8794 Big Bear Ave., in Powell, OH. Private burial at a later date in Kingwood Memorial Park. Judith Glaser
January 28, 1946 - February 24, 2010

Judith Ann (Kanaby) Glaser, 64 of Columbus, OH and Amelia Island, FL, a loving wife, mother, grandma and volunteer, died Wednesday February 24, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born January 28, 1946 to Andy and Dorothy Kanaby. Judy was a 1964 graduate of Bay High School, Bay village, OH and attended Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea, OH where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She was a gifted conversationalist and loved history, travel, and Amelia Island. Judy was known for her unmatched hospitality, deep relationships and sense of humor. She was wonderful grandmother and extraordinary personal shopper to her granddaughters. Judy also enjoyed bowling and golfing as well as being a volunteer in the school and community organizations. She was a member of Brookside Golf and Country Club. Judy married Gary Glaser, her high school sweetheart on her birthday in 1967 and has enjoyed a wonderful life together for the past 43 years. She adored her Cavalier King Charles spaniel dogs Sir Reginald and Lady Olivia who preceded her in death. Besides her husband she leaves son, Scott (Kristy) Glaser, Upper Arlington and their children, Jacob and Kate; daughter, Kristin (Craig) Cavicchia, Worthington, OH and their children, Caroline, Cooper and Palmer; sister, Susie (Bob) Schultz, Indian River, MI; many loving and supportive in-laws, nieces and nephews. A service to honor her life will be held 2:30pm Saturday March 6, 2010 at LIBERTY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 7080 Olentangy River Rd (@ Home Rd. intersection) Delaware, OH. A CELEBRATION, just as Judy would have wanted it, will immediately follow at Brookside Golf and Country Club 2770 west Dublin-Granville Rd. Worthington, OH 43235. Mattie Edna Thomas
April 1, 1952 - March 2, 2010

Mattie E. Coulter Thomas “Bunnie”, 57, of Columbus, passed away March 2, 2010 at the Zusman House. She was born April 1, 1952 in Lincolnton, North Carolina, the ninth child of George and Edith Coulter. Mattie attended school in North Carolina to the third grade and moved with her family to Columbus, Ohio in 1961. Mattie graduated from Linden McKinley High School class of 1970 then went on to attend Bliss College. She worked for the US Postal Service for 5 years and after leaving the post office, Mattie sought employment at The Ohio State University Hospital as a pharmacist technician. Mattie stayed employed there for 32 years and received awards for Pharmacist of the Year in 1995 and 2009. Mattie was totally devoted to her family. She had a big, generous heart and was always willing to lend a hand to help others. She enjoyed singing Gospel music, playing bingo, cooking and OSU football. Mattie was a strong woman that was full of life. Her main love in life was her family. Mattie was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and recently started attending First Church of God. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edith and George Coulter; granddaughter, Alexis Leann Coulter; sisters, Edith Claudette Harper and Mary “Cookie” Allen; nephew, Michael S. Coulter and father-in-law, Richard E. Thomas, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Richard Thomas III,; sons, Steven D. Coulter, Richard A. Thomas; step-daughter, Demetrius Foster; sisters, Nannie “Penny” Sharpe of Virginia, Carolyn “Dimples” Coulter of Cleveland; brothers, George R. (Jennie) Coulter of Virginia, Samuel F. Coulter, William P. (Cora) Coulter, Sr., John C. (Beverly) Coulter and Donald G. (Merlene) Coulter; mother-in-law, Alma Thomas; sister-in-law, Leslie Porter; grandchildren, Steven, Jordan, Trent and Jayln Coulter, Kenya Thomas; Godson, Trulaine Joshua Hardgrow; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Thomas M. Reynolds
June 27, 1927 - March 3, 2010

A funeral service for Thomas M. Reynolds, 82 of Buckeye Lake, will be held on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount cemetery, with the Licking County Veteran’s Alliance providing military honors.
Thomas was born in Jackson, Ohio on June 27, 1927 to the late Willard B. and Mary V. (Stiffler) Reynolds. He passed away at his residence on March 3, 2010 while surrounded by his family.
Thomas graduated from Jackson High School. He joined the United States Army and the Merchant Marines, proudly serving his country during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He served on many ships in the Atlantic and South Pacific. After his military service, he graduated from engineering school in Chicago, Ill. He worked as a tool and die maker and a design engineer with Varo Engineering, where he was instrumental in the design of the Kodak instant camera. He worked for Varo Engineering for over 40 years, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed and collected cast medal cars and coins. He was a member of the American Legion Post #888 in Delaware, Ohio. Most important in his life was spending time with his family.
Survivors include two daughters, Cathy (Phillip) Disterdick of Little Rock, Arkansas and Patricia (John) Keller of Newark; three sons, Thomas M. Reynolds, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, Timothy B. Reynolds of Philadelphia, PA and Benton Reynolds of Buckeye Lake; eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, three nieces and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nancinel (Kraus) Reynolds in 2003, whom he married on July 5, 1952; and two brothers, Willard and Robert Reynolds.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Thomas to Hospice of Central Ohio. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Friends may call at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 PM.
