Michael Partin
December 20, 1966 - October 10, 2009

A Going Home Service for Michael Partin, age 42 will be held Wednesday October 14, 2009 at The Christian Life Center at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill cemetery with Rev. James Kirk officiating.

Michael was born December 20, 1966 in Amherst, Ohio to James A. and Evelyn (Champion) Partin. He passed away Saturday October 10, 2009 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.

He is preceded in death by his mother Evelyn and his sisters Robin and LeVeta.

Michael is survived by his wife Tammy (Neal); of nineteen years; son Brenden and his daughter Chelsi, father and step-mother James and Katha Partin, sisters Vicky and Sandy, and brothers Rodney and Bobby.

Michael was a member of The Christian Life Center and a life-long volunteer fireman, beginning with the Sheffield Twp. Vol. Fire Dept in Lorain. After moving to Zanesville in 1999 he joined the National Trail Vol. Fire Dept.

He worked for ONN/WBNS as an assignment news editor. He started his career with WZLE in Lorain, WTAM in Cleveland, and WHIZ in Zanesville and AVC Communications. He was President of the OAP Board, and coached basketball and baseball youth teams in the West Muskingum schools and was involved with youth athletics. He was a big fan of the OSU Buckeyes, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Arizona Cardinals.

Friends may call Tuesday at the Church from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM or go to www.CrissSchoedinger.com to sign an online guestbook. Timothy Jason Collins
December 4, 1978 - April 26, 2010

Timothy “TJ” Collins entered into rest, alleviating his long suffering, on the afternoon of Monday, April 26, 2010. TJ was born on December 4, 1978 to Howard and Donna (Holt) Collins. He lived in Columbus his entire 31 years of life. TJ graduated from Westland High School and worked for the Ohio Industrial Commission. TJ’s passions include reading and theatre. His personal joys were his family and friends who loved his quick wit and charm. TJ leaves behind his parents; brothers, Joshua (Deirdre) Collins, and Ryan Collins; niece and nephew, Cierra and Chance Collins; grandmothers, Ann (John) Holt-Wood and Janet (Bob) Collins-Keck; uncles, Leonard (Sally) Scowden, James Scowden, Joey Holt, Bill (Jane) Holt Jr. and Terry Hicks; aunt, Mary Schneider and a host of cousins and other relatives. He is also survived by Nathan Burnett and Evan Struble. In TJ’s new residence, he will be welcomed by those who have gone before him, his grandfathers, William Holt, and Ronald Collins; great-grandparents, Taulbee Holt, Francis Davis, Verlie Holt, and Mary Scowden; uncles, Joe and Dale Scowden; and aunts, Dee Dee Baker and Veronica Collins Hicks. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Schoedinger Midtown Chapel, 229 E. State St. A service will be held at the funeral home at 1 pm on Friday, April 30, 2010. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to your favorite charity in TJ’s name.

Donald B. Ferguson
February 2, 1941 - March 13, 2010

Obituary for Donald B. Ferguson Donald B. Ferguson, age 69 of Columbus, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2010.
Don was born on February 2, 1941 in Hillsboro, Ohio to the late Luther and Elsie Ferguson. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Hugh. Don attended Hillsboro High School where he was involved in baseball and Science and Math Club. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Ohio University, where he was active in the scholastic engineering fraternity. Don was a dedicated and loyal electrical engineer for ATT for many years. He was a member of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers; and a 25 year member at Lane Avenue Baptist Church and 20 year member of Dublin Baptist Church. He had a giving heart and volunteered at the Mid Ohio Food bank and fed the homeless for numerous years. Don spent over 45 years as an avid tennis player, involved in tennis league and gained many friends through tennis. He was an avid Buckeye fan and nothing made him prouder then his family. Don was a humble and Christian man who was loyal to his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sue; devoted children, Camie Eriksen and Doug (Jennifer) Ferguson; 3 grandsons, Jacob, Sam and Muluken; and brothers, Delmar (June), Bill (Linda), and Bob (Linda) Ferguson. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from 6-8pm at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221; where funeral services will take place at 11am on Thursday, March 18, 2010. Pastor Darrel Gabbard officiating. Interment to follow at Union cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Dublin Baptist Church, 7105 Coffman Road, Dublin, Ohio 43017.

W. Hale Watkins
August 18, 1936 - February 2, 2010

W. (William) Hale Watkins died on February 2, 2010 at the Columbus Alzheimer Care Center where he had resided for two years in a decade-long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Charleston, West Virginia the son of the late Dr. Charles E. and Mary Alice Watkins, he was a forty year resident of Upper Arlington. He received a B.A.in Political Science from West Virginia University and a J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law. In 1964 he earned an LL.M. (Master of Laws) degree from George Washington University. He was a lifetime Mountaineer fan and a supporter of WVU athletics. He began his professional career in the litigation division of the Federal Communications Commission in Washington, D.C. Subsequently, he worked in the legal department at United Fuel Gas Co. in Charleston, WV, and completed his professional career as Labor Relations attorney and legal department Senior Attorney at Columbia Gas Corporation in Columbus. Following his retirement in 1994, he worked for several years as a volunteer in the emergency room at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. His memberships included the state bar associations of West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky. An avid golfer, he was a member of The Country Club at Muirfield Village and a non-resident member of Pinehurst Country Club and the Bald Head Island Club, both in North Carolina; Upper Arlington Lutheran Church; and Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. He is preceded in death by a brother Charles Brooks Watkins. He is survived by his wife, Maggie (Hess); son David and daughter-in-law Pamela; daughter, Nancy Pridgen; and two grandsons, Tyler Pridgen and Michael Watkins, all of Upper Arlington. Friends may meet family members at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd, Friday, February 12, 2010 from 6-8 PM. James A. "Jim" Belcher
December 14, 1952 - March 15, 2010

Obituary for James A. "Jim" Belcher James A. “Jim” Belcher, age 57, born December 14, 1952, passed away Monday, March 15, 2010 at home surrounded by his family at his side. Preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Oma (Rae) Belcher; sisters, Linda Cook and Anna Rose Johnson. Jim is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dianne; sons, Jamie (Jenny) and Shawn (Shawna); daughters, Kim (Jimmy) and Robin; grandchildren, Lenny, Kenny, Tyler, Kristin, Faye, Jennifer, Mark, Megan, Hailey, and “Lil” Shawn; great-granddaughter, JaMarie; friends, Jimmy (Wanda) and Gloria Walker. A celebration of his life will be held with a visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 19 and a funeral service 1 p.m. Saturday, March 20 at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL 3030 W. Phyllis A. Stenger
November 26, 1928 - February 18, 2010

Obituary for Phyllis A. Stenger Phyllis A. Stenger, 81, of Minerva Park/Columbus, passed away February 18, 2010. She was born November 26, 1928 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late James and Adele Scanlon. Phyllis is also preceded in death by her brother, Jack Scanlon and sisters, Laverne Schneider and Joretta Lindsay. Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Charles; children, Chuck (Linda) Stenger, Adele Stenger, John (Lori) Stenger, Beth Stenger; grandchildren, Charlee, Ashlee, Dillon, Shealee, Blake and Devin; sisters, Elaine Kelly, Marie (Dick) Andrews, Betty Anderson, Judy (Len) Penzo and brothers, Jim (Alice) Scanlon and Tom (Mary) Scanlon. Phyllis was an avid reader of mystery novels and enjoyed traveling with her family to various destinations. She took great pride in her Irish heritage, listening to Irish music and looking forward to every St. Patrick’s Day. She enjoyed collecting dolls and basking in the sun but her main love in life and dedication was to her husband, children, grandchildren and family. Daniel J. Trautman

Daniel James “Danny” Trautman, age 14, passed away, Wednesday, June 2, 2010. Danny is the beloved son of Paul Trautman (Celeste) and Betty Davis Trautman. He is also survived by his grandparents, Warner L. Trautman, Jeanine Trautman, John J. Davis, and Carol (Patrick) Doyle; sister, Rachel; step-sister, Natalie Alexander; step-brother, Dominic Alexander; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Danny was a student at Hilliard Weaver Middle School and was proud of his grades as well as his fitness and athletic abilities. He excelled in football, lacrosse, and wrestling, and was looked up to and loved by many. Danny also found enjoyment in the Dads, Kids, and Dogs Camping and Fishing Outings. He loved the outdoors as well as his Under Armour and tennis shoes. He will be remembered with affection as an exceptional young man and friend and leader. A celebration of his life will be held with a visitation 2-5 p.m. Sunday, June 6 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL 1740 Zollinger Rd. and on Monday, June 7, one hour prior to 3 p.m. memorial service at First Community Church, North Campus, 3777 Dublin Rd. Shari Diane Jones
April 23, 1966 - August 1, 2010

Shari Diane Jones, age 44, went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 1, 2010 at home surrounded by her family and special friends. She was born April 23, 1966 in Columbus Ohio to the late Kenneth Hardy and Norma Jean (Seymour) Heizer. Shari graduated from Franklin Heights High School and worked as Credit Manager for Columbus Parts Supply and in Accounts Payable for Danninger Medical Technology. More recently, she has been a stay-at-home mom with a passion for taking care of her family and enjoying their sporting events and camping and family vacations. She is a member of Leave A Mark Church. Shari is survived by her husband of 15 years, Randy Jones; father, Fred Heizer; son, Ryan (Victoria) Jones; daughters, Mallory and Alexis Jones; sisters, Carolyn (Jerry Culwell) Baker and Jessica Heizer; brothers, Casey and Cody Heizer; half-brothers, Greg (Gail), Jeff (Vickie) and Timothy Hardy; half-sisters, Shelly (Rick) Winfield, Kendra (Karl) Rawlins, Rhonda and Tammy Hardy; sister-in-law, Sabrina (David) Bush; nieces and nephews, Diana Baker, Greg Windle, Josh Wachenschwanz, Tiffany Bush, and Mike Bush; cousin, Don (Tiffany) Cox; loving dog, Snoopy; other family and friends including special friends, Pam (Roger) Hallum, Denise (Ken) Mendgerink, Jake (Amber) Wells, Van (Lori) Burroughs, Chad (Bethany) Rutter, Jack (Winnie) Adams and Neil (Paige) Cline. Joan Patricia Chianese
April 14, 1949 - July 3, 2010

Obituary for Joan Patricia Chianese
Joan Patricia Chianese, age 61 of Columbus, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, after being diagnosed with cancer. Joan was born April 14, 1949 in Patterson, NJ, and graduated from Saddle Brook High School, NJ. Joan married Gene Chianese and later moved to Columbus, OH for Gene’s work, where they raised their two children, Joe and Kim. Joan was currently employed with The Hadler Companies. Joan cherished the time spent with her husband and children and her memory will live on through her family. Preceded in death by her parents, Pat and Joan Maresca and husband, Genaro “Gene” this past October. Joan will be missed by her son, Joseph (Sara) Chianese and their daughter, Juliana; daughter, Kim Chianese; and brothers, John (Ruth), Pat, and Steve Maresca. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Tuesday, July 6, 2010 in the chapel at Resurrection cemetery, 9571 N. High St., Lewis Center with burial to follow. There will be no public viewing. William G. Alderman
March 1, 1941 - July 1, 2010

William Gene Alderman, age 69, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 1, 2010. He was born in Stirrat, W.Va., on March 1, 1941, to the late Henry and Lenis Alderman, and was a graduate of Logan High School. Bill retired from Kellogg’s, formerly Worthington Foods, after more than 40 years. Through his work, he was able to travel all over the world. He loved to play softball and golf, and he shared his love with his children and grandchildren, watching them play Little League and taking his grandsons to the golf course. Bill was dependable and loyal, and he was loved by all who met him. He was completely devoted to his family, and his wife, children, and grandchildren were his life. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Alderman; children, Todd Alderman, Christopher Alderman, and Becky Smith; grandsons, Joshua Alderman and Christopher Smith; siblings, Carl (Nina) Alderman, James “Bud” (Darlene) Alderman, Gay (Gibb) Sexton, Hazel Nelson, Henrietta (Gene) Hileman, Sue (Rueben) Gillman, and Wanda Sprick; longtime friend, Bill (Elizabeth) Lindley, Ron (Bonnie) Conley, and Mary L. Alderman; and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Junior; sister, Letrice Ferell; brother-in-law, James; and sister-in-law, Betty. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 5, 2010, at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Petty officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
