Stefanie Whitis
(1975 - 2005)

COLUMBUS - Stefanie Whitis, 30, of Columbus, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at her home in Columbus.
Born Feb. 10, 1975, at Bryan, she was a graduate of the Ohio State School for the Blind.
Surviving are her parents, John and Carol Whitis of Columbus; grandparents, Joan Whitis of Alvordton and Carmon and Wanda Esterline of Pioneer; an uncle, Andrew Whitis of Zanesville; aunts, Sue Whitis of Lexington, Ky. and Mrs. Doug (Cathy) Shoup of Montpelier; caregiver, Julie Britt of Bexley; cousins, Zane Bell, Nicole Bell, Sydney Bell, Jared Shoup, Stacy Shoup, Wesley Shoup and Trent Shoup; and many friends.
Preceding her in death were her sister, Kiley Whitis, and grandfather, Robert Whitis.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-6 p.m. in the Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell, 450 West Olentangy St., Powell . (Funeral home is on Powell Road a quarter mile east of Sawmill Parkway), phone (614) 792-1471.
Services will be held Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. after the visitation hours in the Zion Christian Fellowship, 10405 Sawmill Road, Powell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Ohio State School for the Blind, Project Fund, c/o Dr. Lou Mazzoli, 5220 North High St., Columbus, OH 43214.

William Creighton Watson
(1918 - 2005)

William Creighton Watson, 86, of rural Montpelier, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at his home of 86 years, in the same bedroom where he was born.
Born May 13, 1918, in Montpelier, to Pearl (Koch) and Frank Watson, he married Jennie Schieber on April 8, 1950, and she survives.
A lifelong farmer and a milk hauler for Pet Milk for 17 years, he was co-owner of Watson Well Drilling since 1962.
He was a member of Lick Creek Church of the Brethren, Bryan; honorary lifetime member and past president of the Ohio Water Well Association; a member of the National Ground Water Association; honorary lifetime member of the Michigan Ground Water Association, being the first Ohio resident voted to lifetime membership; a member of the Indiana Ground Water Association; a member of the National Rifle Association; and past member and past president of the Millcreek-West Unity School Board.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Tom (and wife, Barbara) Watson of Montpelier and Jim (Cathy) Watson of Bryan; a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Nancy) Snyder of Bryan; seven grandchildren, Jeremy and Amy Snyder, Rob Watson, Mrs. Tom (Lori) Prusnek, Kara and Kelli Dreher and Mrs. Sam (Toni) Callan; and three great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Prusnek and Josie and Jack Callan.
In addition to his parents, five brothers, Lawrence, Willard, Hubert, Robert and Denver Watson; and three sisters, Opal Caldwell, June Cranmore and Margery Custar preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home in Bryan. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Lick Creek Church of the Brethren, Bryan, with the Rev. David Miller and the Rev. Dorothy Ritchey-Moore to officiate. Burial will follow in Shiffler Cemetery, Pulaski.
Memorials may be made to the church or the Ohio Water Well Association Scholarship Fund.

Mildred Marie Schoonover Ledyard
(1908 - 2005)

Mildred Marie Schoonover Ledyard, 96, of Bryan, died early Monday morning, Feb. 14, 2005, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers-Bryan.
Born March 12, 1908, at Lenawee County, Mich., to Sarah (Double) and Moses Schoonover, she married Ensign Ledyard on Oct. 1, 1926, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 2003. A homemaker, she was a member of the Bryan Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are five sons, Arnold (and wife, Dorothy) Ledyard, Moyne (LouAhna) Ledyard, Hal (Sharon) Ledyard, all of Bryan, Voyle (Pat) Ledyard of Ossian, Ind. and Norman (Beverly) Ledyard of Jonesville, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Eva) Michael of Bryan; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Keller of Morenci, Mich. and Joy Miller of Howell, Mich.; and a brother, Vaughn Schoonover of Morenci, Mich.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Iva; four sisters, Velva Ballmer, Thelma Good, Violet Schoonover and Rosie Punches; and four brothers, Clifford, the Rev. Harvey, James and the Rev. Modie Schoonover.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Burr Funeral Home & Crematory-Bryan.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Bryan Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Roger Blough to officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci, MIch.
Memorials may be made to the Bryan Church of the Nazarene.

Jo Ellen "Jody" (Hartman) Helms
(1947 - 2005)

STRYKER - Jo Ellen "Jody" (Hartman) Helms, 57, of Stryker, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at Park View Nursing Center, Edgerton, where she had been a resident since Dec. 1, 2004. Born June 8, 1947, at Auburn, Ind., to Joyce M. and Robert D. Allen, she married Douglas A. Helms on Aug. 2, 1991, at Bryan, and he survives.
She was an assembler for Quadco for many years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her father and stepmother, Robert D. and Elaine L. (Lash) Hartman of Hamilton, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Jerry (Nancy) Crawford of Edon; two brothers, Michael and Kenneth Hartman, both of Columbia; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother in 1948 and a brother, Robert D. Hartman Jr. in 1974.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home in Edon.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Nicholas Woodall to officiate. Interment will follow in Stryker Cemetery, Stryker.
Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurses and Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties, Stryker United Brethren Church or Park View Nursing Center Senior Prom Activity Fund.

Andrew M. Allgire
(1968 - 2005)

Andrew M. Allgire, 36, of Bryan, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion, Ill., following a six-month battle with cancer.
Born June 4, 1968, in Bryan, to Gerry (Puckett) and Marion Allgire, he married Jeanie Tewksbury on Oct. 26, 1997, and she survives.
Employed at Center Concrete for the past six years, he had previously worked as a deputy sheriff in Williams County for three years. He was also a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Whitney and Drew of Irmo, S.C. and Austin of Bryan; his parents, Gerry Jackman of Dixon, Calif. and Marion (and wife, Pat) Allgire of Stryker; a brother, Greg (Patty) Coppes of Dixon, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. Bill (Julie) Myers of Bryan and Mrs. Ron (Stephanie) Cibart of Redding, Calif.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Molly and Emerson Allgire and Alma and Ossie Puckett; and a sister, Robin Coppes.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-6 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Stryker.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. in the church with Pastor Dennis  Jones to officiate. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Stryker.
Memorials may be made to the Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion, Ill.
Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker is in charge of arrangements.

Paul Casebere
(1915 - 2005)

EDGERTON - Paul L. Casebere, 89, of Edgerton, died early Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at his home after an extended illness.
Born Feb. 15, 1915, at St. Joe Township in Williams County, to Marguerite (Gebhard) and J. Stanley Casebere, he married Mary M. Pahl on Sept. 27, 1934, at Edgerton, and she survives.
A 1934 graduate of Edgerton High School, he was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy. Working for Elmer Brown at the Willis-Knight Overland Dealership in Edgerton from 1928 to 1932, he became co-owner of Casebere Motor Sales with his brother Carolus in 1934. They operated the business until his retirement in October 1986.
A longtime active member of the Edgerton Chamber of Commerce, the Edgerton Development Corporation and the Edgerton Board of Public Affairs, he had served on the Edgerton Fire Department in the early 1940s. He was an avid horseman and was a member of the Central States Walking Horse Association. He was a charter member and an active volunteer with the Auburn Cord Dusenberg Museum in Auburn, Ind. and was also a charter member of the Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, Mich. A member of St. Mary Catholic Church, he had served on the parish council. He was also a member of the Hicksville Bank Advisory Board and the Empire Bankshares Board.
In 1981, he and his brother, Carolus, were named Citizens of the Year in Edgerton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Paula) Dockery of Edgerton and Mrs. Allen (Mary Jane) Hubbell of Hicksville; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Harriet Siebenaler of Edgerton.
Preceding him in death was his brother, Carolus, in 1997.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton and on Thursday one hour prior to services in the St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton. Recitation of the rosary will be Wednesday at 8 p.m.
Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the church with Father Thomas Oedy to officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Edgerton.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or to Community Hospitals and Wellness Center-Hospice Care.
