BRUCE ALLEN MILLER

FORT WAYNE, IN – Bruce Allen Miller, 55, of Fort Wayne, IN died 4:29pm, Thursday, July 10, 2008 at his residence. He was born October 10, 1952 in Cloverdale to Richard and Marjorie (Amstutz) Miller. His Father is deceased and his Mother survives in Bluffton.

Other survivors include his siblings: Mark (Sheril) Miller of Fort Wayne, IN, Kent Miller of Convoy, Wade Miller of Briceton, Rodney Scott Miller of Briceton, Jeff (Sally) Miller of Port St. Lucie, FL, Rhonda VanVleit of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Teresa (Kevin) Hire of Port St. Lucie, FL.

Mr. Miller retired in December 2007 after 27 years with General Motors of Fort Wayne. He was a 1971 graduate of Blue Creek High School in Haviland and enjoyed playing bridge, poker and chess.

Funeral services will begin at 3:00 pm, Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township with Rev. Jerry Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Cascade cemetery, Cloverdale. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Saturday and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township (located at the corner of St. Rts. 224 and 634). Memorial donations may be to the family.

OLIVER JACOB TROYER

CONTINENTAL - Oliver Jacob Troyer was stillborn 7:32 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2008 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

Oliver was born to Brian D. and Dena M. (Wollam) Troyer of Continental. His paternal grandparents are Dewayne and Linda Troyer of Continental; maternal grandparents, Les and Chum Wollam of Continental; paternal great-grandparents, George and Marilyn Troyer of Continental; maternal great-grandparents, Bob and Pat Wollam, Ellen Carder all of Continental and John and Barb Carder of Defiance.

He was preceded in death by paternal great-grandparents, Harlan and Evelyn Zeigler.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Monroe cemetery, Continental with Rev. Tim Tracy officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental.

Memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.

KENNETH R. WILSON

LEIPSIC - Kenneth R. Wilson, 85, of Leipsic, died 1:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2008 at VanCrest Health Care Center in Delphos.

Mr. Wilson was born March 14, 1923 in Cleveland to the late Jesse T. and Dagamar (Jensen) Wilson. On October 31, 1948, he married Bernice Green, who died September 16, 1982. He then married Shelba Berger on November 22, 1986 who survives in Leipsic.

Also surviving are two sons, Robert (Linda) Wilson of Oldsmar, Florida and Larry (Mary Ann) Wilson of Delphos; four step-sons, Duane (Carla) Tooman, Roger (Stacey) Tooman and Kirk Tooman all of Leipsic, Roy (Cathy) Tooman of McComb; three step-daughters, Vivian (Dale) Boerger of Celina, Denise (George) Paptas of Virginia and Annette Tooman of Columbus; two grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Wilson and a step-daughter, Vickie Tooman.

Mr. Wilson was a retired custodian for the Ottawa-Glandorf Schools. He was a member of Leipsic United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army with the 808 Tank Destroyer Divisions during WWII.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic with Rev. Mary Bushong officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Ridge cemetery, Leipsic, with graveside rites by Leipsic’s VFW and American Legion. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.

Memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.

MARK F. CREAMER

OTTAWA - Mark F. Creamer, 45, of Ottawa died 6:05 am Wednesday July 16, 2008 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. He was born January 31, 1963 in Lima to the late Everett and Harrietta (Frye) Creamer.

He is survived by 2 brothers: Harry and George Creamer of Leipsic; and a sister: Tammy (Rick) Poper of Hicksville. Also preceding him in death were 2 brothers: John and James Creamer.

Mr. Creamer was a truck driver. He attended Leipsic United Methodist Church, Leipsic and was a huge supporter of Eagleson’s Make A Wish Run.

Funeral services will be held 12:30 pm Sunday, July 20, 2008, at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME in Leipsic with Pastor Janet Lewis-Cattell officiating. Burial will be in Center cemetery, West Leipsic. Visitation will be from 10:30 am until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the family.

MELVIN F. DREW

LEIPSIC - Melvin F. Drew, 73, of Leipsic, died 11:30 am Friday July 18, 2008 at Putnam Acres Care Center in Ottawa.

Mr. Drew was born May 13, 1935 in Miller City to the late Elmer and Gertrude (Schuller) Drew. On December 9, 1956 he married Bonnie Dickey who survives in Leipsic.

Also surviving are his children: Daniel Drew of Ottawa, Kenneth (Stephanie) Drew of Tiffin, Rodney Drew, William Drew and Catherine (John) Jones all of Leipsic; 9 grandchildren: Jason Drew, Joshua Jones, Justin Jones, Levi Drew, Jaylynn Drew, Angela Drew, Vanessa Jones, Allyson Drew and Tara Drew; 6 step grandchildren: Alex Wagner, Matthew Brimmer, Amanda Brimmer, Samantha Brimmer, Lindsay Brimmer and Tony Brimmer; 4 great-grandchildren: Ajiah Jackson, Drew Jackson, Bronson Drew and Marissa Drew. .

Mr. Drew retired in 1993 from Philips ECG formerly of Ottawa. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Leipsic.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 am Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. George Wenzinger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Monday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.

KUHLMAN, VIOLA

NEW BAVARIA – Viola B. Kuhlman, 70, of New Bavaria died 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green, Ohio.

Viola was born November 11, 1937 in Glandorf,to the late Charles and Clara (Meyer) Brinkman. On May 18, 1955, she married Paul “Gene” Kuhlman, who died January 26, 1994.

Mrs. Kuhlman is survived by her children: Terry (Diane) Kuhlman of Ottawa, Linda (Kevin) Elling of Napoleon, Tim Kuhlman, Alan Kuhlman, Kathy Kuhlman and Keith Kuhlman all of New Bavaria and Christopher (Dawn) Kuhlman of Defiance; a brother: Walter (Virginia) Brinkman of Wickenburg, AZ., four sisters: Sally Schmidt of Leipsic, Agnes (Harold) Morman, Helen Wischmeyer and Henrietta Wischmeyer all of Ottawa; eight grandchildren: Kimberly (Jeremy) Sheeks, Derek Kuhlman, Jennifer Kuhlman, Kelsey Elling, Nathan Kuhlman, Heather Kuhlman, Dustin Kuhlman, Seth Kuhlman and a great-grandchild: Austin Sheeks.

She is preceded in death by a grandson: Jayson Kuhlman; two sisters: Florence Maenle and Maggie Kruse; and two brothers: Richard Brinkman and Melvin Brinkman.

Mrs. Kuhlman was a homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria, and its Altar Rosary Society; honorary member of Northwest Ohio Tractor Pullers; former New Bavaria Fire ladies Auxiliary and former New Bavaria Council member.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, with Fr. Tom Hemm officiating. Burial will be Sts. Peter and Paul cemetery, Ottawa. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa, where there will be a scripture service at 2:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.

RONALD “RON” BIBLER

CONTINENTAL- Ronald Bibler, 65, of Continental, died 9:15 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2008 at his residence.

Mr. Bibler was born March 15, 1943 in Continental, to the late Correl and Garnet (Wells) Bibler. On July 11, 1964, he married Linda M. Burkepile who survives in Continental.

Also surviving are his children, Neil (special friend, Julia Bartz) Bibler, Lori (Perry) Rau and Lisa (Todd) Sullivan all of Continental; a brother, Virgil (Mim) Bibler of Continental; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a son, Ryan L. Bibler and a sister: Helen Sidener.

Ron was a retired truck driver for Socar of Ohio Inc, for 34 years, accident free. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Continental.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Thursday, July 24, 2008 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Continental, with Fr. Robert Kill officiating. Burial will be in Monroe cemetery, Continental. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, 2 to 8 pm Wednesday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental and one hour prior of services on Thursday at the church. There will be parish rosary Wednesday at 8 pm in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Putnam County Hospice or church building fund.

ADA B. DeSOTE

CONTINENTAL - Ada B. DeSote, 74, of Continental died 11:43 am Wednesday July 24, 2008 at Brookview Nursing Home in Defiance.

Mrs. DeSote was born July 11, 1934 to the late John and Mary Metcalf. She was married to Bernard DeSote who died January 15, 2000.

She is survived by 2 sons: Timothy (Janet) DeSote and Thomas DeSote both of Continental; 3 daughters: Tamara Colley of Arizona, Jackie Miller of Columbus Grove and Mary Ellis of Lima; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother; and 3 sisters.

Preceding her in death was a son: Bernard Eugene DeSote; 2 grandchildren; a brother and a sister.

Mrs. DeSote was a homemaker. She was a member of TOPS in Continental.

Funeral services will be held 1 pm Saturday at Heitmeyer Funeral Home in Continental with Pastor Ray Newsome officiating. Burial will be in Monroe cemetery, Continental. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Friday and 12 noon until time of services Saturday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental. Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

HORSTMAN, AGNES W.

OTTOVILLE – Agnes W. Horstman, 89, of Ottoville, died the morning of Thursday, July 24, 2008 at her residence.

She was born August 9, 1918 in Van Wert County to the late Louis and Emma (Brinkman) Ricker. On January 25, 1947, she married Leo Horstman, who died August 3, 2001.

Mrs. Horstman was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and it’s Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed life and dedicated her life to her family.

Survivors include four sons, Tom Horstman, Mike Horstman and Tim (Eileen) Horstman, all of Ottoville, and Paul (Frankie) Horstman of Charleston, MI; two daughters, Janice (Ron) Horstman of Ottawa and Emily (Mark) Snyder of Lafayette; a sister, Lucille Horstman of Fairfield, TN; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Rudy and John Ricker.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Fr. John Stites officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's cemetery, Ottoville.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Twp. where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Home Health.

EARL P. MIEHLS, JR.

FT. JENNINGS - Earl P. “E.P.” Miehls, Jr., died 5:15 pm Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

Mr. Miehls was born July 27, 1952 in Lima to Earl Sr. and Rita (Pohlman) Miehls. His father survives in Spencerville, his mother is deceased. On September 11, 1971 he married Ruth Calvelage and she survives in Ft. Jennings.

Also surviving are 3 sons: Russell (Kristi) Miehls of Stryker, Charles (Angie) Miehls and David (Jill Giesige) Miehls both of Kalida; a daughter: Linda (Brian Petersen) Miehls of Kalida; 4 grandchildren: Shauna Miehls, Maddyson Miehls, Ella Kaufman and John Kaufman; 3 brothers: Kenneth (Marcia) Miehls of Delphos, Ronald “Joe” Miehls and Dan Miehls both of Kalida; 3 daughters: Judith (Ralph) Averesch of Ottoville, Becky (Pat) Kelly and Kathy (Adrian) Weyrauch both of Ft. Jennings.

Mr. Miehls was a logistics supervisor for CEVA Logistics in Delphos. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ft. Jennings; was a member of Delphos Eagles; and a former District Officer with the teamsters. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren and enjoyed doing home improvement projects, working in his flowerbeds and golfing.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Saturday, July 26, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ft. Jennings with Fr. Joe Przybysz officiating. Burial will be Monday July 28, 2008 in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where there will be a scripture service at 7:30 pm and 9:30 am until the time of service Saturday at the church. Memorials can be made to the family.

RAYMOND L. BUCKLAND

OTTAWA - Raymond L. Buckland, 84, of Ottawa died 8:53 pm Tuesday July 29, 2008 at Putnam Acres care Center in Ottawa.

Mr. Buckland was born June 28, 1924 in Gilboa to the late Louis and Clara (Heiing) Buckland. On April 16, 1947 he married Jeanette Mullett who survives in Ottawa.

Also surviving are 4 sons: David (Connie) Buckland of Bowling Green, Alan Buckland and Gary Buckland both of Ottawa and Randy Buckland of San Francisco, CA; 2 daughters: Joni (Terry) Anderson of Arlington and Denise (Michael) Warnecke of Springfield; 6 grandchildren; 1 step grandchild; 2 great-grandchildren; and 2 step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Art, Carl, Paul and Robert Buckland and a sister: Marie Patton.

Mr. Buckland was retired from Philips ECG formerly of Ottawa and Beckman Jewelers of Ottawa. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ottawa. He was a US Army veteran of WWII; lifetime member of Ottawa’s American Legion post 63 where he was a past commander, VFW post 9142 and Eagles; he attended Fogler Watch Making School in Cincinnati; and enjoyed being with his family, reading and bird watching.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am Friday August 1, 2008 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ottawa. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites by Ottawa American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Thursday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME in Ottawa where there will be a scripture service at 2:30 pm and a VFW service at 7 pm. Memorials can be made to Putnam Acres Care Center or Sts. Peter and Paul Renovation Fund.
