Elizabeth J. Bayer
May 10, 1909 - June 12, 2001
Elizabeth Jane LeFever Bayer, 92, of Mansfield died Monday, June 11 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. She was born May 10, 1909 to George and Inez LeFever. She was a retired law secretary with the Joseph Bayer Law Office. Mrs. Bayer attended the Main St. United Methodist Church and loved to dabble in photography.
She is survived by two granddaughters, Annette McCoy of Texas and Lorain Grace of Virginia; and several loving nieces and nephews. Her husband, Joseph A. Bayer in 1972, preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to services held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13. Rev. David Gilbert will be officiating for the service. Burial will be in Shenandoah cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Main St. United Methodist Church.

Madeline L. Bair
January 14, 1911 - June 10, 2001
Madeline L. Bair, 90, of Oak Grove Nursing Home, died Sunday, June 10 after an extended illness. She was born January 14, 1911, to Ralph and Mary J. Whipp Bair in Lorain, Ohio. She graduated from Springfield High School in Springfield, Ohio, in 1929. She lived most of her life in Mansfield and worked in various places including the Leland Hotel and 18 years at the H.L. Reed Co. She was a veteran of World War II serving the WACS receiving an honorable discharge on March 3, 1944, after serving for one year. Ms. Bair spent her retirement years in Port Orange, Florida, returning to Springfield, Ohio, in 1992 and back to Mansfield in 2000. She liked to read and enjoyed doing handiwork.
She is survived by two nieces, Betty Egner of Galion and June Taylor of Willard; a nephew, Harold Bair of Ormond Beach, FL; a brother-in-law, Virgil Crisafulli; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers; Jane Sada, Carlie Muth, June Warch, Martha Crisafulli, Mildred Bair, Hope Bair, George W. Bair and Waldo Bair.
Friends may call 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to graveside services which be held Thursday, June 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Mansfield cemetery conducted by Rector Emeritus David Sipes.

Mabel Elizabeth Barber
February 17, 1916 - June 29, 2001
Mabel E. Barber, 85, of Mansfield died Friday, June 29, 2001 at Fisher-Titus Hospital in Norwalk. She was born February 17, 1916, in Corbin, Kentucky, to Nathan and Minnie Bunch Setser. She was retired from Peoples Hospital where she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Mabel was a member of the First Church of the Open Bible where she also was involved in the Women’s World Fellowship.
She is survived by her sister Pauline Grieninger of Pittsburgh; her foster daughter, Linda Morris of Mansfield; three nieces Joyce, Phyllis, and Linda. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Minnie Setser; her first husband, Leslie E. Aumend in 1962; her second husband, Arland C. Barber in 1975; her brother, Willard Setser; and her foster daughter, Pauline Williams.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Sunday, July 1 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Monday, July 2 at 1:00 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Robert Schonauer. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.

Ruth Feagin Allen
August 13, 1933 - July 05, 2001
Ruth Feagin Allen, 67, of Mansfield, died Thursday, July 5, 2001, at Grant Hospital in Columbus after a long illness. She was born August 13, 1933, to Jack and Sarah (Jackson) Feagin in Rome, Alabama. Mrs. Allen was an avid gardener and needle crafter, and also enjoyed fishing.
She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Doris (Allen) and Archie Collier of Atlanta, Georgia and Seneca Allen Wilson of Mansfield; two sons, Kenny and Paul Allen, both of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, Nichole, Randi, Tameka, Faye and Kenny, Jr., Paula, Tasheka; three great-grandchildren, Shaquille, Sahsha, and Shamari; one sister, Neater Brooks of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, G.W. Allen in July 1999, her parents, Jack and Sarah Feagin, and her daughter, Joyce Allen.
Private graveside services will be held at Mansfield cemetery with Rev. Aaron Williams officiating. Wappner Funeral Directors is handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Angelo A. Barretta
October 10, 1951 - July 05, 2001
Angelo A. Barretta, 49, of Mansfield died unexpectedly Thursday morning, July 5, 2001, at MedCentral Mansfield. He was born October 10, 1951, in Mansfield and had lived here all his life. Mr. Barretta was a tow motor operator at Westinghouse. Angelo was a tough little guy who always had a joke for everyone. He enjoyed spending time with his son, Tyler, who participated in Flat track racing and Motor Cross racing. He was also a member of the Sons of Italy.
He is survived by his wife, Kay (Mosier) Barretta; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Tyler Mosier Barretta, Tony and Shelia Barretta and Mike and Kelly Barretta, all of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Angel, Travis and Gage Barretta; one sister and brother-in-law, Mickey and Charles Stewart of Mansfield; his mother, Irene Barretta of Mansfield; and very close friends, John Thompson and Warren Meadows, both of Mansfield. His father preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to graveside services held at Windsor cemetery on Saturday, July 7 at 10:00 a.m. conducted by Art Conklin.

Frank P. Basilone
October 12, 1921 - July 06, 2001
Frank P. Basilone “The Prince of Pasta”, died late Friday evening, July 6, 2001, at MedCentral Mansfield after a long illness. He was born October 12, 1921, in Lorain, Ohio to Michael and Lula (Pettrak) Basilone and was a resident of Mansfield for the past 30 years. He was retired from the City of Mansfield where he worked for the Codes and Permits division. Mr. Basilone organized charity dinners and raised thousands of dollars for local high school athletic teams, and for children with life-threatening illnesses. He also organized a semi-pro baseball team in Mansfield for 10 years. He was an Honorary Fireman, member of the Mansfield Softball Association Hall of Fame and received a key to the city when he retired in 1986.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle; one daughter, Anita McElfresh of Mansfield; four sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Marge Basilone of Milan, Ohio, Frank P. and Natalie Basilone Jr., Scott and Kelli Basilone, Tony and Patti Basilone, all of Mansfield; nine grandchildren, Mark, Todd, Abbie, Matt, Tyler, Ann, Brody, and Brad Basilone and Michelle Jordan; four great-grandchildren, Wesley, Colton and Naudia Basilone, and Jacob Jordan; one brother, Bill Basilone of Huron, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. His parents, Michael and Lula Basilone; three brothers, John, Eugene and Eddie Basilone; and three sisters, Geraldine Manning, Delores Taylor, and Josephine Basilone preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Sunday, July 8 from 6-9 p.m. and one hour prior to services to be held Monday at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. conducted by St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Carl "Cy" R. Beer
October 01, 1917 - July 08, 2001
Carl R. "Cy" Beer, age 83, 1188 Amoy West Rd., Mansfield, died Sunday morning at his home following a brief illness. He was born October 1, 1917 in Mansfield, Ohio to Martin E. and Minta Swaidner Beer. Mr. Beer retired from the Ohio Brass Co. in 1980 after forty-three years of service. He was a graduate of Madison High School, a member of the American Legion and AARP, a long-time member of the National Rifle Association and the Franklin Township Fire Department. During his life he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and travelling. He was a man of strong family convictions, a loving and caring friend to everybody. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy as a member of CB's. Mr. Beer was a member of the Clay Memorial Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-three years, Marjorie Garver Beer, whom he married July 3, 1938; three daughters and sons-in-law, Annabelle Howell and her companion Craig Forquer of Plymouth, Ohio, Sharron and Don Gough of Corinth, Texas and Karren and Bill Cordrey of Olmstead Falls, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Bruce, Christine, Ryan, Billie, Ann, Kelly, Phil, Amy and Jeff; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Lois Beer of Bucyrus. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Albert Beer.
Friends may call Tuesday, July 10,2001, at the Clay Memorial Lutheran Church one hour prior to memorial services being held at 2:00 p.m. by Pastor Lowell Pederson. Burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clay Memorial Lutheran Church or Hospice of North Central Ohio.

Tammy Beam
August 18, 1961 - August 21, 2001
Tammy (McManious) Beam, 40, of Mansfield died unexpectedly at her home Monday, August 20, 2001. She was born August 18, 1961, in Binghamton, New York, to Alton and Nadene (Kendrick) McManious. Mrs. Beam was employed as a film machine developer with Fuji Photo. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband of 15 years, Richard Beam, she is survived by two sons, Micheal and Richie Beam of Mansfield; one daughter, Racheal Beam of Mansfield; one special daughter, Carley Clapper of Mansfield; and numerous brothers and sisters, friends, nieces and nephews. Her parents, Alton and Nadene McManious, preceded her in death. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to funeral services Thursday, August 23 at 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.

Charles Cecil Adams
March 05, 1943 - September 09, 2001
C. Cecil Adams, age 58, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Sunday morning at MedCentral Mansfield. Cecil was born March 5, 1943 in Somerset, Kentucky and has been an area resident for the past 39 years. Cecil was employed at Richland Lumber, Inc.
Surviving are his wife, Norma Hamilton Adams of Mansfield, one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey H. and Crystal Adams of Mansfield, one daughter and son-in-law, Lee Ann and Ron Weber of Ashland, Ohio, one foster daughter and son-in-law, Mona and Brian Gleisinger of Columbus, Ohio, three grandchildren, Morgan Adams and Max and Spencer Weber, four foster grandchildren, Brittany and Micheal Stinson, Bon and Matthew Gleisinger; four brothers, Junior Adams and Wayne Adams both of Somerset, Kentucky and Leroy Adams and Jim Adams both of Mansfield; four sisters, Imogene Jasper of Aurora, Indiana, Justine Dugger of Louisville, Kentucky, Brenda Clouse and Linda Mitchell both of Mansfield. His parents, Frank F. and Okel Baker Adams, preceded Cecil in death.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Tuesday, September 11, 2001 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Pastor Dan Clouse. Burial will be held at Lantz cemetery.

Diane Adams
August 11, 1941 - September 09, 2001
Diane Adams, 60, of Mansfield died late Sunday evening, September 9, 2001 at MedCentral Mansfield after a brief illness. She was born August 11, 1941, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Albert Frank and Mary Agnes (Cline) Warga. Diane worked as a registered nurse with Mansfield General and Richland Hospitals.
She is survived by a son, David Michael Adams of Lexington; a daughter and son-in-law, Dana Jean and Scott Neely of Columbus; grandchildren, Katelan and Olivia Neely, Ashley Renee Adams and Brandy Lynn Brown; and her parents, Albert and Mary Warga. Her husband, Richard Adams, preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Friday, September 14 from 1-2 p.m. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at a later date at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Research Center.
