Virginia E. Beery, 84, of Mansfield, died Friday night August 9, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Beery was born November 26, 1917 in Mansfield, being a life long resident. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald E. and Phyllis J. Beery of Mansfield; W. Allen and Connie Beery of Mt. Gilead; Jack W. and Joni Beery of Portland, TN; one daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Jack Bozeman of Mansfield; ten grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Emma Gladden; her husband, Bill Beery in 1988; and three brothers, Bill, Ivan and Gerald Gladden.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Monday August 12, 2002 from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday one-hour prior to a 10:30 a.m. service, held at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the church

Mary Abbott
May 18, 1929 - August 31, 2002
Mary (Hubbard) Gibson Abbott, 73, of Shelby died Saturday evening, August 31, 2002 at MedCentral Shelby Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Abbott was born May 18, 1929 in Cabin Creek, West Virginia and was an area resident most of her life. She enjoyed playing Bingo and doing crafts.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Margaret Gibson and Linda and Larry Banks, all of Shelby; two sons and daughters-in-law, John R. and Carolyn Gibson and Michael A. and Sharon L. Gibson, all of Mansfield; twelve grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; five sisters and one brother-in-law, Naomi Burford of Boomer, West Virginia, Nancy Tappe of California, Lola Graham and her friend, Steve Weiss of Bellville, Ohio, Kay and Hartsel Robinson of Mansfield and Maggie Bower of Mansfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Gloria Hubbard of Mansfield; one sister-in-law, Barbara Hubbard of Butler, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Lona Alice (Legg) Hubbard and three brothers, Jack, Richard and Charles Hubbard.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Wednesday, September 4, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. Bruce Copley. Burial will follow in Mansfield cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.

Olive Daniels Baker
February 17, 1916 - September 24, 2002
Olive Daniels Baker, 86, of Bellville died Tuesday afternoon, September 24, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Baker was born February 17, 1916 in Johnson County, Kentucky and had been an area resident the last 50 years. She was retired from Ideal Electric and was a member of Mansfield Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly A. and Sidney Puckett of Mansfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Danny H. and Jean Daniels of Bellville; grandchildren, David Puckett, John Scherrer, Bob Puckett, Kimberly Jaynes, Sam Scherrer, Donald Daniels, Jerry Daniels, Amber Kanz; fifteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one sister, Jetta Veryl Ward of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Kaye Ward of Williamson, West Virginia; and a son-in-law, John Scherrer of Lakeland, Florida. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. Delmer Daniels; second husband, Clem A. Baker; a sister, Blanche Taylor; daughter, Billie Jean Scherrer; and a grandson, Donald R. Daniels.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Thursday, September 26 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at Mansfield Freewill Baptist Church on Laver Road at 1:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Fred Crank. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.

Kathryn J. Ackerman
June 03, 1903 - December 17, 2002
Kathryn “Kay” J. Ackerman, age 99, of Grand Haven, MI, formerly of Sandusky, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 17, 2002. She was born June 3, 1903 to Albert D. and Bertie (Croft) Arnold Sr. in Mansfield, Ohio. Her husband Charles H. Ackerman preceded her in death in 1968. Mrs. Ackerman had lived in Grand Haven for 30 years, and formerly in Sandusky, Ohio. She had been employed by Flipins Jr. Boot Shop in Sandusky and was a member of the Methodist Church in Ohio. She enjoyed her great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her son-in-law Ronnie Shaw, Grand Haven, MI; grandson and his wife, Douglas and Tricia Shaw of Grand Haven, MI; great-grandchildren, Collin and Courtney Shaw; and a sister Mrs. Betty Seymour of Mansfield, Ohio. Her daughter, Connie Shaw, sister Dorothy Finney and brother Albert D. Arnold Jr. preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to graveside services that will be held Friday, December 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Mansfield cemetery. Rev. Carl Cunfer will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Wayne See
August 04, 1929 - February 03, 2003
Wayne See, 73, of 2084 West Fourth Street died Monday morning, February 3, 2003 at MedCentral Mansfield after an extended illness. Mr. See was born August 4, 1929 in Louisa, Kentucky living in the Mansfield area since 1965. He retired from Purdy Construction after 32 years and was also retired from the C.O. Railroad after 25 years. He was a member of the AmVets, Owls, Eagles, American Legion and 40 et 8. Wayne enjoyed golf. He was a U.S. Army Sergeant serving in the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his father, Jack G. See of Indianapolis, Indiana; two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry & Debbie See of Mansfield and David & Kim See of Cumming, Georgia; five grandchildren and spouses, Tracy & Paul Holbrook, Mary Krimbral, Charity & Paul Durin, Jennifer See and Jeremy See; six great-grandchildren, Christen, Daphne, Cheyanne, Tiffany, McKenzie and Madison; five brothers and sisters-in-law, George & Phyllis See of Greenwich, Jack & Velma See of Mansfield, Henry See of Louisa, Kentucky, Wesley Paul & Juanita See of Indianapolis, Indiana and James Donald & Linda See of Louisa, Kentucky; a sister, Hazel Perry of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Ann (Vaughan) See; a brother, Lee V. See; two sisters, Martha Ann Crank and Mary Sue Paul; and three infant children, two sons and a daughter.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Ted Risner. Military graveside services will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Autis E. Baughman
February 16, 1935 - February 04, 2003
Autis E. Baughman, 67, of Lexington died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 04, 2003 at his daughter’s home. Mr. Baughman was born February 16, 1935 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania and was a Mansfield area resident most of his life. Until his retirement, he was employed in the warehouse at Tappan Company for 25 years. After his retirement, he worked as a greeter with Olive Garden Restaurant.
He is survived by a son, Rick Baughman of Mansfield; two daughters and a son-in-law, Debbie and Jeffrey Wheaton of Lexington and Michelle Baughman-Foulks of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Anissa Schrock, Jonathon Nelson and Sayja Nelson; two great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Ike Hiveley of Gallipolis, Ohio; former wife, Bertha (Dulaney) Baughman of Patriot, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Vanessa Baughman.

Elinda J. Jennings
October 13, 1942 - February 03, 2003
Elinda J. Jennings, 60, of Mansfield died Monday evening, February 3, 2003 at her home after an extended illness. Elinda was born October 13, 1942 in Richland County and was a lifelong area resident. She worked many years as a waitress. Elinda loved music, cooking, crocheting and sewing and being with people.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Cochran of Mansfield; her best friend and love, William Jennings; three grandchildren, Summer Gage of Mansfield, Norman Springer, Jr. of Indiana and Yulonda Springer of Indiana; many foster children; a sister, Marlena Amore of Elyria, Ohio; and an aunt, Elenor Tracy of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Bates; daughter, Linda Kay Bates; and grandmother, Anna Lauer.

Ruby V. Armstrong
December 11, 1924 - March 04, 2003
Ruby V. Armstrong, 78, of Mansfield died Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Armstrong was born December 11, 1924 in Mansfield to the late Zarko and Elizabeth (Folb) Cobanvic and was an area resident all her life. She retired from Ohio Brass. Ruby enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Schunatz of Mansfield; stepson, Donald Armstrong of Mansfield; four granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; a nephew, Jame Gentile; and a niece, Eleanor Kotchou. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard Armstrong, and all her siblings.

Rita M. Creamer
November 09, 1918 - March 28, 2003
Rita M. Sheedy Creamer, 84, of Mansfield died Friday evening, March 28, 2003 at her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Creamer was born November 9, 1918 in Mansfield to the late Marie Sheedy and was an area resident all her life. She retired from the Ohio State Employment Bureau in 1981 where she worked as a supervisor. Her nickname with her co-workers was “Sparkle Plenty”. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Rita was a very caring and loving person. She always had a smile and looked after the welfare of others. Rita has gone home to be with the Lord in Heaven.
Rita is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Peter William Creamer III of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, Hugh Patrick and Suzanne Creamer of Hubertus, Wisconsin, Dennis Thomas and Rebecca Creamer of Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Michael Moyer of Crestline, Ohio; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and special caregiver, Kathy McDonald. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Sheedy Fox; husband, Peter William Creamer II in 1994; and a daughter-in-law, Joette Creamer.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Monday, March 31 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rehab Center of North Central Ohio.

Jack Henry Beasore
April 22, 1916 - March 30, 2003
Jack Henry Beasore, 81, of Mansfield, died Saturday March 29, 2003 following an extended illness. Mr. Beasore was born December 26, 1921 in Monroe Township. Lucas, Ohio to George and Eleanor Beasore. Jack was a graduate of Lucas Schools, Class of 1939, attended schools of banking at The University of Wisconsin from 1952-1954, and Rutgers University from 1959-1961. Mr. Beasore served his country for three years in the United States Navy during WWII from 1942-1945. Mr. Beasore worked for Ohio Edison from 1946-1950. He spent over forty years in the banking industry, retiring from Mechanics Savings Bank on September 30, 2000. Mr. Beasore had previously worked at the Richland Trust Bank for twenty-five years, and also worked at Mechanics Bank for seventeen years then retiring, and served as the Past President of the Richland Trust Company, Mid-Ohio Bank Shares, Ohio Bankers Association, and Mansfield Richland County Chamber of Commerce. Among his many civic pastimes, Jack also served as the Past Chairman of the Richland County Red Cross, and the United Way Fund Campaign, and as the past director for the Rotary Club. He served on the boards of the Richland Trust Company, Sutton State Bank, Attica, Ohio, the Farmer’s State Bank of Loudonville, Ohio, the Hi-Lo Trailer Company, Butler Ohio, and Roger J. Au and Sons of Mansfield. He was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church where he served on various boards and committees and was a loyal member of the Westbrook Country Club and Our Club. Jack enjoyed being with his family, friends and relatives who all will miss him dearly. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed reading in his spare time.
Surviving are his wife Eileen of 59 years; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Jerry Bowman of Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia, and Jane and Chad Richards of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; a granddaughter and her husband, Michelle and Carlton Watts of Birmingham, Alabama; a great-granddaughter Reagan Emily Watts; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Louetta and Kenneth Fisbaugh of Greenwich, Ohio, Pat and Don McIntire of Durham, North Carolina, and Jennie Ebinger; two sisters-in-law and a brother in law, Carol Beasore of Greenwich, Ohio, and Jim and Eileen Smith of Oxford, Ohio; ten nephews and eight nieces. Mr. Beasore was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Thomas Beasore, and a grandson, Matthew Bowman.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Tuesday, April 1, 2003 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 2, 2003 at 2:00 pm at the Park Avenue Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Carol Kautz and Rev. Donald Wagstaff. Burial will take place at Mansfield Memorial Park following the funeral services. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the Park Avenue Baptist Church.
