LaVern Oney, 71, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, May 28, 2003 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Mr. Oney was born September 8, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio residing in the Mansfield area most of his life. He was a retired semi driver and a former member of the VFW.
Surviving are his wife, Elsie Sauer Billingsly of Mansfield; two sons, John and Jeff Oney both of California; one daughter, Juanita Greg of California; six grandchildren of California; three step daughters and one step son-in-law, Susan Wertz; Karen and John Beal and Cheryl Eckstein; seven grandchildren, Jeremy and Nina Wertz; Anthony, Kimberly and Samantha Beal; and James and Denise Eckstein; one brother, Donald Croft all of Mansfield and a number of nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to funeral services, which will be held on Monday June 2, 2003 at 1:00 p.m., conducted by the Minister Dan Nichols. Burial will be in Mansfield cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Jerome A. Wardzinski
April 22, 1924 - May 29, 2003
Jerome A. Wardzinski, 79, of Mansfield died Thursday evening, May 29, 2003 at Mifflin Care Center. He was born April 22, 1924 in Buffalo, New York and was a Mansfield area resident the past 15 years. He graduated from Georgia Tech University and later taught at the University also. Until his retirement he was employed as an engineer and had worked for General Electric, Xerox, RCA, Bechtel Industries and the U.S. Pentagon. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy. Jerome enjoyed fishing and the stock market. He was a doting grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Tim Rupert of Mansfield; and two grandsons, Zachary “Zack” Rupert and Cory Rupert, both of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Durden Wardzinski on October 31, 2000 and his parents.
Military graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 4 at Mansfield Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to graveside services.

James Fredrick Kautz
January 15, 1915 - May 30, 2003
James Fredrick Kautz, 88, of Mansfield died Friday evening, May 30, 2003 at his home. He was born January 15, 1915 in Sandusky, Ohio. He graduated from Sandusky High School and moved to the Mansfield area. He retired after 36 years of service with Westinghouse Corp. James was a member of First English Lutheran Church. He was a volunteer at the Renaissance Theater and Richland Carrousel. He was a member of the Beckling Preservation Society, Northern Ohio Covered Bridge Association, and the Southern Ohio Covered Bridge Association.
He is survived by his wife, Polly (Whitmore) Kautz whom he married February 10, 1936 a son and daughter-in-law, Walter F. and Janet Kautz of Mansfield; a daughter, Janet A. Swartz of Mansfield; grandchildren and their spouses, Debbie J. and Bill Timmons of Columbus, Ohio, Walter Kautz, Jr. of Mansfield; Becki and Stan Myers of Shelby; Betsy and Richard Groff of Georgetown, Kentucky; and great-grandchildren, Bethany Timmons, Elianna Timmons, Dorathy Myers, Elaina Myers, and Alexander Myers. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Howard N. Kautz.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Wednesday, June 4 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at First English Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Sand Hill cemetery in Sandusky. Memorial contributions may be made to the Organ Fund of First English Lutheran Church.

Antonio Barretta
August 30, 1915 - November 25, 1999
Antonio Barretta, 84, of 455 Connor Dr. died Thursday November 25, 1999 at home following a battle with Congestive Heart Failure. Mr. Barretta was born August 30, 1915 in San Nicola, Italy to Arc Angelo and Michelina Barretta. He resided in Mansfield for 70 years. He retired from Westinghouse after 34 1/2 years of service. Mr. Barretta was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and A.A.R.P. Mr. Barretta also volunteered at the Salvation Army and ushered at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Geneva Barretta; two sons, Mike Barretta and Angelo Barretta both of Mansfield; two daughters, Mary Koppert and Michelina Steward both of Mansfield; one step-daughter, Flora Ireland of Missouri; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Carmine Barretta; two sisters, Angela Augustine and Catherine Ardis both of Mansfield. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Louie Barretta.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church conducted by Father Keith McCormack. Military services will be held in Mansfield cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to NCO Hospice in Ashland, Ohio.

R. Christopher Archer
March 17, 1982 - November 26, 1999
R. Christopher Archer, 17, of 2380 Haviland Court died unexpectedly November 26, 1999. Mr. Archer was born March 17, 1982 in Mansfield being a life long resident.
Surviving are his parents, Rene Archer and Jennifer Perry; three brothers, Benjamin Perry; Dustin Perry; and Anthony Archer all of Mansfield; one sister, Taneesha Perry of Mansfield; one sister, Opal Clever of Mansfield; two nieces and one nephew; maternal grandparents, Glen D. & Laura D. Ackerman of Shelby; and paternal grandmother, Angela Archer; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors two hours prior to funeral services which will be held on Thursday December 2, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. El Akuchie. Burial will be in Mansfield cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Vaughn L. Beaty
October 09, 1913 - January 08, 2000
Vaughn L. Beaty, 86, of Mansfield, Ohio died early Saturday morning, January 8, 2000 at MedCentral Mansfield. Mr. Beaty was born October 9, 1913 in Mt. Victory, Ohio living in the Mansfield area most of his life. He was employed with Hartman Electric for 40 years as an assistant superintendent. Mr. Beaty was a member of Main St. United Methodist Church of Mansfield and Community Congregational Church of Bonita Springs, Florida. He was a member of Venus Lodge #152 F. & A.M. and Eastern Star.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ruhlen Beaty; three grandchildren, John and Andrew Boroff and Alicia Boroff Clark; four great grandchildren; a brother, Ivan Beaty of Greenwich; and a niece, April Hardin of Mansfield. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester & Florence Vance Beaty; and a daughter, Judy Kay Beaty Boroff.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to funeral services to be held Monday, January 10, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. David A. Gilbert. Masonic services will be held prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Mansfield cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Burn Institute.

Charles Artrip
August 26, 1932 - February 06, 2000
Charles Artrip, 67 of 631 Morgan Ave. died Sunday February 6, 2000 at MedCentral Mansfield following a brief illness. Mr. Artrip was born August 26, 1932 in Pike County, Kentucky residing in the Mansfield area for the past 50 years. He retired from Luntz Corporation after 35 years of service.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Helen N. (Knipp) Artrip of Mansfield two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles E. and Sharon Artrip of Mansfield; and Lawrence R. and Vickey Artrip of Mansfield; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Litteral of Lexington; Susan and Ed Musick of Mansfield; and Debra and John Walton of Shelby; his mother, Rhoda (Ferguson) Artrip of Mansfield; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen-great grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth Fields of Ontario and Sybil Burns of Ashland; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, George Artrip; one brother, George Artrip Jr.; and two grandsons, Brian Eulett and George C. Artrip.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by the Rev. Nathaniel Rhodes. Burial will be in Mansfield cemetery.

Harold E. Beaver
April 19, 1926 - March 10, 2000
Harold E. 'Jim' Beaver, 73, of Galion died Friday evening March 10, 2000 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Beaver was born April 19, 1926 in Shelby, Ohio. He retired as a foreman from Empire-Detroit Steel after 29 years of service. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #9943.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Ann M. (Holzman) Beaver of Galion, OH; two sons & a daughter-in-law, James G. Beaver of Venice, Florida and Patrick J. & Pamela Beaver of Mansfield; three daughters & sons-in-law, Diane & Dan Diggs of Beaverton, Oregon, Karen & Glenn Baughman of Nunane, Georgia, and Connie & Rick Lautzenhiser of Galion, OH; eight grandchildren, Brent & Mathew Diggs, Joshua & Jessica Beaver, Nicholas & Jacob Baughman, and Katie & Sara Lautzenhiser; two brothers, Jacque Beaver of Shelby, OH and Paul Beaver of Greenwich, OH; two sisters, Betty Kaler of Gahanna, OH and Sally Ann Phelps of Philadelphia; and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence W. & Ruth (McDaneld) Beaver.
Memorial graveside services with military rites will be held Friday, March 17, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be held in Mansfield cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Galion Hospice.

Jennie Louise (Riddlebaugh) Chesson
May 02, 1914 - October 07, 2000
Jennie Louise Riddlebaugh Chesson, 86, of 2075 Ashland Rd. Lot 19, died Saturday evening at the Mifflin Care Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was born May 2, 1914 in New Haven, Kentucky and lived in Mansfield most of her life. Mrs. Chesson was retired from the Mansfield Plating Company and was a member of Grace Brethren Church. She loved her Grandchildren, great grandchildren, cooking and flowers.
She is survived by one daughter Patricia Riddlebaugh of Mansfield; two sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Joyce A. Riddlebaugh of Mansfield and Charles and Joyce C. Riddlebaugh of Lexington; four grandchildren and spouses; Philip Riddlebaugh, Vicki and Kevin Collins all of Lexington, Stacie and David Powell of Ontario and Kim Gaffney of Mansfield; Five Great-Grandchildren; one sister Florence Stafford of Louisville, Kentucky; one brother Garland Spalding of Louisville, Kentucky; a sister-in-law Margaret Schell of Bucyrus and a number of nieces and nephews and good friend Norma Stafford of Louisville Ky. Mrs. Chesson was preceded in death by, her parents, Henry and Maude (Graham) Spalding, her first husband, Harold E. Riddlebaugh, second husband, Thomas J. Chesson, three brothers; Preston, Maurice and Edwin Spalding, one sister, Thelma Spalding.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. conducted by her pastor Rev. J. Hudson Thayer. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Brethren Church Building Fund at 531 Marion Ave.

Naomi Lucille (Frasher) Robinson
April 16, 1912 - March 20, 2002
Naomi Lucille Frasher Robinson, 89, of Mansfield died Wednesday afternoon, March 20, 2002 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home after an extended illness. Mrs. Robinson was born April 16, 1912 in Richland County to Burleigh and Edna (Swank) Frasher. She was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church. She liked to cook, garden, sew and was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Nancy Robinson of Mansfield and Denny and Maleta Ann Robinson of Perrysville, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marianne and Dean Brunn and Diane and Robert Cash, all of Mansfield; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lois Daugherty and Mary Lou and Bernie Randall of Mansfield; three nephews and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dale Robinson in 1978, parents, daughter, Joann Bauer in 1977 and brother, Raymond Frasher.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Saturday one hour prior to the service, which will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Allen E. Rose. Burial will follow in Mansfield cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Main Street United Methodist Church.
