Dessie Leon-Guerrero
August 23, 1946 ~ March 4, 2009

Dessie Leon-Guerrero, 62, of Findlay, passed away at 11:20 pm, Wednesday, March 4, 2009 while in the company of family members at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
Mrs. Leon-Guerrero was born in Findlay, Ohio on August 23, 1946, the daughter of the late Cloyd and Theresia (Borgelt) Bish. Theresia still survives in Findlay, Ohio.
She is survived by her son: Cloyd (Bianica) Biller of Tiffin, OH. She is also survived by her brother: Joseph (Andrea) Bish of Findlay; two granddaughters: Gabrielle and Brianna and two grandsons: Zachary and Travis.
She was preceded in death by her daughter: Marlojean Leon-Guerrero.
She worked part-time for the Findlay Village Mall in the Housekeeping/Maintenance Department.
She was a member of St Michael the Archangel Church. She was a member of the 55+ Club.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Routson Funeral Chapel. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:30 pm.
A Religious Service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at St Michael the Archangel Church, East.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dessie’s honor to the St Michael the Archangel Church, Building Fund 750 Bright Rd or to the Hope House 419 Western Ave both of Findlay, Ohio 45840.

Daniel Lee Oswald
Novemeber 2, 1960 ~ March 14, 2009

Daniel Lee Oswald 48, of Findlay, Ohio passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009 at his residence. Dan was born November 2, 1960 in Fostoria, Ohio to Neva (Bomer) Oswald and the late Vernon Oswald. Dan is survived by his companion and best friend of 33 years Ronald Lee Myers.
Dan is also survived by his two brothers: Andy (Pat) Oswald of Tiffin, OH; Jim (Denise) Oswald of Suffolk, VA; two sisters: Sandy Pauline of Holland, OH and Elaine Oswald of Fostoria, OH and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins that he loved very much.
Dan was preceded in death by his father Vernon Oswald and both grandparents.
Dan was a 1979 graduate of Fostoria High School.
Daniel was an accomplished musician, songwriter and composer. He also recorded and produced his own CDs “The Dawning of My Spirit” and “The Collection”. Dan was also a very talented artist that loved to draw. Over the years Dan was employed with Trenton Ave Marathon in Findlay, The Home Depot in Jensen Beach, Fla., Winston Cruise Lines in Fort Pierce, Fla., and he enjoyed playing piano at Vons Diamond and Jewelry in Findlay, during the holiday season. Dan had performed in such cities as Miami, FL; Tampa, FL; Detroit, MI; Oakland, CA and Windsor Canada
Dan had a great love for life, family, friends and his pets: Chris, Tiki, Sally and Harry. Dan loved his dog Chris who was always by his side and gave him unconditional love and was by his side in his untimely exit from this earth to see the Almighty Himself.
He will always be remembered for his serving and giving to others and will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Visitation will be held at Routson Funeral Chapel on Monday, March 23, 2009 from 12 noon-2 pm with a Service to follow directly at 2 pm with Rev. Bruce McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow at Fountain cemetery, Fostoria, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Dan’s honor to Century Health (North Campus) 2515 N. Main St. Findlay, Ohio 45840

Mary "Kay" Riesen
November 28, 1926 ~ March 24, 2009

Mrs. Mary “Kay” Kathleen Riesen, 82, of Findlay, passed away at 7:30 am, Tuesday, March 24, 2009 while in the company of family members at her residence.
Mrs. Riesen was born in East Palestine, Ohio on November, 28, 1926, to the late Thomas and Lilian M. (Zartman) McCall. She was married for 60 years to Armin “Pete” Riesen, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her three sons: Jeff (Dawn) Riesen of Elyria, OH; Mark (Diane) Riesen of Tiffin, OH; Matt (Brenda) Riesen of Van Buren, OH and her daughter: Michele Riesen-Indre (Scott) of Findlay. She is also survived by a sister: Betty Athey; a brother: Thomas McCall; four granddaughters: Tracey, Amy, Pamela and Madalyn and two grandsons: Luke and Aedan.
Mary was preceded in death by her daughter: Colleen Riesen; a brother: Brian McCall; two sisters: Florence and Dorothy McCall and a grandson: Brent Riesen.
She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
She was a secretary for the Heidelberg Athletic Department and the Bowling Green State University Mens Basketball Team.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Church, East on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 10:30 am with Father Mike Hohenbrink officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made in Kay’s honor to St. Michael the Archangel Church 750 Bright Rd Findlay, Ohio 45840
The family would like to extend an invitaion to join them at The Lodge at Riverbend Park.

Cristeta Wise
October 27, 1949 ~ March 15, 2009

Cristeta Ubando Wise born Cristeta Segismar Ubando on October 27, 1949 in Dagupan City, Philippines, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009.
She graduated from High School at Holy Angels College in Angeles City, PH April 20th 1969. She came to the United States in July 1969.
Cristeta has two children: eldest Ned Turner III of Fostoria, Ohio & daughter Milani Lynn Turner of E. Alton, Illinois.
Cristeta retired from Ball Metal Center Division in Feb. 2008 after working 33.5 years. In 1974 Cristy was naturalized as an American Citizen. In 1975 Cristy won Miss Philippines, Miss National, Miss Talent, Miss Hancock Cnty, & Miss Flag City USA.
She made the paper several times through out her time with us. She was recognized in the Courier for winning Miss Hancock Cnty, & again as Miss Flag City USA. The Courier did another article on Cristy on Local Findlay woman with winning talent. Cristy used to sing at the Old Imperial House Holiday Inn where she drew thousands of people. Cristy's many hobbies were golf, bowling and singing karaoke.
She made the headlines in the Courier several more times during her golf tournaments. Cristy was Findlay’s local unknown celebrity. So many people missing out on her presence. She had an electromagnetic ora that just drew people to her.
She is survived by her son Ned Turner III, fiancé Mindly Loman, grandchildren Bryce and Caleb Turner of Fostoria, OH. Her daughter Milani Lynn Turner, fiancé Tobias Miller, grandchildren Sean Williams of N. Baltimore, OH, Aeriol Turner-Miller and Cade Turner - Miller of E. Alton, IL She is also survived by her mother: Carmen S. Ubando of Alameda, CA; sister: Betty Ubando of Findlay, OH; brothers: Johnny Ubando of Findlay, OH and Cornelio Ubando Jr. of Pampanga, Philippines; and ex-husband James L. Wise of Findlay, Ohio
Cristy was known and loved for her many talents and huge heart. She was a well respected member of Findlay’s Community.
Visitation will be held at Routson Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from 12 noon-4 pm with a Religious Service to follow directly at 4pm, Pastor Kathie Tomazic officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in Cristeta’s honor to the donor’s choice of charity.
The family would like to extend an invitation to join them on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 5pm at The Lighthouse for a Celebration of Cristeta’s life.
The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude towards Hospice and all that they have done to help, especially Nurse Tiffany, Aide Becky, & Dr. Crook for the help and kindness.

Joanne Baldwin
June 12, 1929 - February 13, 2010

Jan Baldwin, 80 of Findlay, passed away on February 13, 2010 at Blanchard Valley Hospice Care Center.
She was born on June 12, 1929 in Waterville, OH to the late Clifford and Hazel (Shatzer) Loomis. She married John (Jack) Baldwin in 1949. He survives in Upper Sandusky, OH.
Mrs. Baldwin had volunteered at Fox Run Manor Nursing Home leading spelling and trivia activities. She was an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She attended a base group bible study, the Lutheran Women's Prayer Group and a weekly prayer partners meeting.
Surviving are her son Mark (Debbie) Baldwin in St. Petersburg, Fl., her daughter Diane (Paul) Place in Leipsic, OH, a sister Juanita Loomis and good friend Margaret Powers in Lakeland, FL.; seven grandchildren, Sherri (Brad) Schroeder Longberry in Findlay, OH, Brandi Schroeder in Indianapolis, IN, Valerie (Ken) Fisher in Otter Lake, MI, Phyllis (Eric) Gouine in Alto, GA, Phillip Hildebrant in Flint, MI, Ashley (Craig) Roberts in Riverview, FL, and Richard Haschke in St. Petersburg, FL; 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Kendra Lynn Hildebrant and two brothers, Russell and Dale Loomis.
All services will be private at the request of the family.
Memorials may be made in her memory to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fox Run Manor Nursing Home or Bridge Home Health & Hospice.

William J. Drake
January 10, 1920 ~ April 10, 2010

William J. Drake, 90, of Findlay passed away at Birchaven on April 10, 2010 from Melanoma. He was born on January 10, 1920 in Findlay to the late Del D. & Catherine (Loftus) Drake. Bill graduated from Findlay High School, attended Findlay College and served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He married Mary Lou Fellers in St. Michaels Catholic Church on April 18, 1942. He retired from Defense Supply Center in Columbus, OH. During his 33 year career he was employed by the Air Force in Supply and Logistics at Wright Field in Dayton, OH; Shelby Air Depot, Shelby, OH; Tachikawa Air Base, Tachikawa, Japan; Griffiss Air Force Base, Rome, N.Y; Hickman Field, Oahu, Hawaii. After retirement he and his wife were "snowbirds" in Bradenton and Sarasota, FL for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Daniel J. (Rebecca) Drake, Surf City, N.C and Dr. David W. (Bonnie) Drake, Salem, OH and a daughter, Rose-Marie Drake, Columbus, OH. Surviving grandchildren are Dr. Ryan S. (Dr. Jennifer Tolle) Drake, Canton, OH; Dr. Melanie Drake (Dr. Josh) Dorsey, Dublin, OH; Dr. Jaclyn Drake (Chris) Laine, Columbus, OH; Andrew J. Drake, Boone, NC and Amanda Rose Drake, Greenville, NC. Step-grandchildren are Tiffany (Greg) Huzyak, Salem, OH; and Ryan Mosher, Kanas City, MO. Great-Grandchildren are Drake Dorsey, Ella Drake, & Sophia Drake. Step Great-Granddaughter is Liliana Huzyak. A brother Robert W. Drake, resides in Findlay and a Brother, Del D. Drake, Jr., is deceased. Bill was a member of the Elks for 68 years, Findlay Country Club, Blanchard River Archeology Club, Hancock County Historical Museum, Hancock County Chapter Ohio Genealogy Society and St. Michael Archangel Catholic Church. Visitation at Routson Funeral Chapel will be from 4-8pm on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. A memorial mass will take place at St. Michael's Catholic Church Downtown, at 10am on Thursday, April 15, 2010 with Father Mike Hohenbrink Officiating. Interment to follow at St. Michael's Church cemetery. Memorials in his name may be made to Bridge Hospice, 15100 Birchaven Lane, or to St. Michael's Catholic School, 723 Sutton Place.
