Wayne E. Dobson

Wayne E. Dobson, age 83, Bryan, Ohio, died Sunday, November 9, 2003 at 1:40 p.m at Harborside Care Center in Bryan where he was a patient. Mr. Dobson was employed by Greenisen Funeral Home in Bryan for 30 years. A World War II Navy veteran serving for six years, Mr. Dobson was a life member of the Sherwood VFW Post 5665 and the Bryan American Legion Post #284, of which he was commander in 1964-65. He was also a member of Bryan Church of the Nazarene.

Wayne E. Dobson was born on January 25, 1920 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Ira and Mabel (Kurfiss) Dobson. He married Helen L. Bailey on September 13, 1947 and she preceded him in death on March 14, 1990. He then married Eilene Hosler on May 22, 1993 in Sherwood, Ohio and she survives.

Mr. Dobson is survived by his wife, Eilene of Bryan; three sons, Hugh (Donna) Dobson of Hudson, Michigan, David Dobson of Jacksonville, Illinois, Rodney (Victoria) Dobson of Bryan, three step-daughters, Diane (Michael Repitoe) Fry, of Defiance, Ohio, Dan (Cathy) Fogle, of Plymouth, Indiana, and Steve (Barbara) Bohall, of Shelbyville, Indiana. He is also survived by five grandchildren, fourteen step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille Sarff, of Enid, Oklahoma and Maxine Barrett, of Jacksonville, Illinois. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin and Clifford Dobson.

Services for Wayne E. Dobson will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bryan Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Roger Blough officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove cemetery in Edgerton with graveside military rites conducted by the Bryan American Legion Post #284. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton, Ohio from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, and one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Memorials in the name of Wayne E. Dobson may be given to Alzheimer's Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Robert Nicholas Huard

Robert Nicholas Huard, age 78, of Edon, Ohio, died at 12:51 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2003, in the Dilworth Center of Community Hospitals of Williams County in Montpelier after an extended illness. Mr. Huard was a lifelong farmer and had been employed at Allied Products in Hillsdale, Michigan, the Aro Corporation in Bryan, Ohio, The Farmers Inn in Montpelier for eight years and Powers and Sons in Montpelier for twenty-two years before retiring in 1988. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of Edon American Legion Post #662. He also was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #312 in Montpelier, Ohio and St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Edon, Ohio.

Robert Nicholas Huard was born August 24, 1925 near Edon, Ohio, the son of Clarence O. and Florence (Faber) Huard. He married Ann Gretchen Lougheed on January 29, 1944 in Pioneer, Ohio and she survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Nicholas L. (Elizabeth) Huard, of Columbia South Carolina, one daughter, Deborah (Ray) Wenig, of Swanton, Ohio, three grandchildren, Stephanie (Scott) Kanneman, of Metamora, Ohio, Nathan Wenig, of Boston, Massachusetts, Jennifer (Brian) Hunter, of Lexington, South Carolina, one step-grandson, Jeff (Tammy) Schmidt, of Lexington, South Carolina, three great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Kathryn (Paul) Heckel, of Archbold, Ohio, Carol (Jim) Coleman, of Edon, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services for Robert Nicholas Huard will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2003 in St. Peter's Lutheran Church with Reverend Daniel G. Beaudoin officiating. Burial will follow in the Edon cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the Edon American Legion Post #662. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Edon, Ohio from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29.

Memorials in the name of Robert Nicholas Huard may be given to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Building Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Elaine D. Ingle

Elaine D. Ingle, age 82 years, of rural Edon, Ohio, died late Thursday, September 4, 2003 in her home. Mrs. Ingle worked at Bryan Cutom Plastics prior to her retirement. .

Elaine D. Ingle was born October 24, 1920 in Edon, Ohio the daughter of Forrest and Vesta (Frazier) Wilson. She married Denver Ingle on March 30, 1946 and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Ingle is survived by two sisters, Lena Luke, of Bryan, Ohio, Alice Headley, of Haines City, Florida and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two infant children and one sister, Naomi

Services for Elaine D. Ingle will be held at a later date. Krill Funeral Service in Edgerton is in charge of arrangements.

Betty J. Miller

Betty J. Miller, age 81, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 1:10 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2003, after an extended illness, at St. Anne Home and Retirement Community in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, where she was a resident. Mrs. Miller was a lifelong Edgerton, Ohio, resident and a 1940 graduate of Edgerton High School. She was a member of the Edgerton United Methodist Church, the Riverside Garden Club, Edgerton American Legion Auxiliary and Gamma Epsilon Sorority. She also had served many years on the local election board.

Betty J. Miller was born March 5, 1922, in Edgerton, Ohio, the daughter of Arthur and Mabel (Smith) Upp. She married Vaughn A. Miller on August 22, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2000.

Mrs. Miller is survived by two sons, Kim (Cathy) Miller, of New Haven, Indiana, Greg, of Boulder, Colorado, two grandchildren, Jeff (Tracy)Miller, of Lakeland, Florida, and Brian Miller, of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Services for Betty J. Miller will be Tuesday, September 9, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, with Pastor Ned Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove cemetery, Edgerton, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, September 8.Memorial contributions in the name of Betty J. Miller may be given to the Edgerton Area Foundation, the Edgerton United Methodist Church or the Edgerton Free Store.

Cleland D. "Cy" Thiel

Cleland D. "Cy" Thiel, age 89, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, died at 1:41 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2003 in the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana. Mr. Thiel worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation and was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Thiel was a lifelong area resident.

Cleland D. "Cy" Thiel was born November 26, 1913, in Edgerton, Ohio the son of Arthur and Grace (Smith) Thiel. He married Gladys I. Zuber on July 6, 1945 in Edgerton, Ohio and she preceded him in death on February 17, 1998.

Mr. Thiel is survived by nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by one brother, Cloyce Thiel and one sister, Ila Nofzinger.

Services for Cleland D. "Cy" Thiel will be Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at 1:30 p.m (Ohio Time) in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio with Fr. Daniel Leeuw officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio one hour prior to the service begining at 12:30 p.m.

Memorials in the name of Cleland D. "Cy" Thiel may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.

Richard H. Gearhart

Richard H. Gearhart, age 80, of Edon, Ohio, died at 7:40 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2003, shortly after admittance to Community Hospitals of Williams County in Bryan. Mr. Gearhart was a World War II Navy veteran and a 1940 graduate of Edon High School. After being discharged from the service, he worked with Walz farms and then was plant manager for Custom Farm Service which became Camel Farm Service for twenty-seven years. He was a member of the Edon Church of Christ and the Edon American Legion Post #662.

Richard H. Gearhart was born September 6, 1922 near Edon, Ohio the son of Edward F. and Mabel (Fix) Gearhart. He married Evelyn M. VanZile on September 22, 1944 in Metz, Indiana and she survives.

Mr. Gearhart is survived by two sons, Lon David (Marilyn) Gearhart, of Auburn, Indiana, Leon James (Debbie) Gearhart, of Bryan, Ohio, one daughter, Janet Gearhart, of Toledo, Ohio, six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He is also survived by three brothers, William and Larry (Louise) Gearhart of Edon, Ohio, Daniel (Sue) Gearhart, of Pioneer, Ohio, and two sisters, Fern Hemenway of Edon, Ohio and Mrs. Willard "Connie" (Sue) Dewire of Hamilton, Indiana. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Jacob and W. Gene Gearhart.

Services for Richard H. Gearhart will be Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. (Ohio Time) in the Krill Funeral Home - Edon, Ohio with Pastor Daniel Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow in the Edon cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the Edon American Legion Post #662. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral - Edon, Ohio from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2003.Memorials in the name of Richard H. Gearhart may be given to the Edon Church of Christ or the Edon American Legion.

Brenda J. Nester

Brenda J. Nester, age 59, of rural Fremont, Indiana, died at 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, in Cameron Memorial Community Hospital in Angola after an illness of one year. Mrs. Nester was a homemaker and a member of the Fremont Congregation of the Jehovah Witnesses.

Brenda J. Nester was born June 22, 1944, in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of William E. and Alice D. (Finch) Hawkins. She married Franklin Delano Nester on January 29, 1963, in Monroe, Michigan, and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Nester is survived by two sons, Bradley D. (Lori) Nester, of Fremont, Indiana, David W. Nester, of Friendshipwood, Texas, one daughter, Kimberly (Terry) Scott, of Fremont, Indiana, and two grandchildren, Autumn and Cami Scott. She is also survived by thee sisters, Vicky (Gary) Gallagher, of Montpelier, Ohio, RuAnna (Ron) Lackey and Sue (Al) Best, both of Cairo, Ohio, five brothers, Larry (Jane) Hawkins and Doug (Anita) Hawkins, both of Edon, Ohio, Rex (Donna) Hawkins and Fred (Shirley) Hawkins, both of Cairo, Ohio, and Kevin (Penny) Hawkins, of Fremont, Indiana.

A memorial service for Brenda J. Nester will be held Saturday, September 13, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. (Indiana Time) at the Fremont Congregation of the Jehovah Witnesses. Interment will be in the Powers cemetery near Angola, Indiana.

James E. Walley

James E. Walley, age 64, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 12:07 a.m. Sunday, August 10, 2003, shortly after admittance to LaGrange Community Hospital, LaGrange, Indiana. Mr. Walley was a truck driver for TST Expedited Services and became suddenly ill while on the road. He had worked for TST for two years and previously for Tri-State Trucking for ten years. He graduated from Edgerton High School in 1956 and spent time with the Army Reserve entering the service in 1958. He was a member of the Edgerton Church of Christ where he served on the church board.

James E. Walley was born October 4, 1938 near Edon, Ohio the son of Bernard J. and Ruth (Dunlap) Walley.

Mr. Walley is survived by two daughters, Debra (Andy) Moring, of Angola, Indiana, Amy (Scott) King, of Rochester, Indiana, two sons, Chris (Jill) Walley,, of Rochester, Indiana, Brad (Tami) Walley of Wyoming, Michigan, his fiancee`, Leta Hug, of Edgerton, Ohio, two brothers, Jerry M. Walley, of Antwerp, Ohio, Stephen B. Walley, of Ringold, Virginia and one sister, Kathy (Dan) Grant, of Edgerton, Ohio. He is also survived by five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Walley.

Services for James E. Walley will be Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. (Ohio Time) in the Edgerton Church of Christ with Pastor, D.V. Dillinger officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio. Visititation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, In Edgerton, Ohio from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. (Ohio Time) on Tuesday, August 12.

Memorials in the name of James E. Walley may be given to the Edgerton Church of Christ.

Roberta Ellen "Bobbie" Haddix

Roberta Ellen "Bobbie" Haddix, of rural Hamilton, Indiana, died Friday, May 23, 2003, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana after a lingering illness. Mrs. Haddix was employed by Meier in Angola, Indiana as a retail clerk prior to her illness for three years.

Roberta Ellen "Bobbie" Haddix was born April 17, 1941 in Roseville, Michigan the daughter of Walker Frederick and Ellen Rose (Hultman) Thornton. She married Larry J. Haddix on August 3, 1991 in Angola, Indiana and he survives.

In addition to her husband she is survived by four daughters, Veronica Ellen (Steve) Hutchinson, of Lakeland, Florida, Rita (Michael) Tesauro, of Naples, Florida, Janice Louise (Greg) Chorpenning, of Hamilton, Indiana, Judy Lynn (Peter) Dangler, of Sarasota, Florida, one son, Robert (Eva) Bennett, of Angola, Indiana, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one sister, Priscilla Thornton, of Angola.

Services for Roberta Ellen "Bobbie" Haddix will be Friday, May 30, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. (Ohio Time) in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio with Fr. Fred Pasche officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. (Ohio Time) on Thursday, May 29.

Memorials in the name of Roberta Ellen "Bobbie" Haddix may be give to the American Heart Association or to a charity of the donors choice.

Randy J. Bowen

Randy J. Bowen, age 33, of rural Edgerton, Ohio died at 1:43 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2003 in Parkview Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in an auto accident earlier in the evening near Hicksville, Ohio. Mr. Bowen was a heavy equipment operator and had previously worked for Center Concrete and Stafford Sand and Gravel near Edgerton. He was graduate of Edgerton High School.

Randy J. Bowen was born December 6, 1969, in Hicksville, Ohio, the son of Rickey L. and Bonnie J. (Cape) Bowen. He married Candi J. Hopkins on March 26, 1999 in Cooney, Ohio and she survives.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two children, Randy and Cebrina Bowen, at home, his mother and step-father, Bonnie (Shawn) Hoffman, of Defiance, Ohio, step-mother, Cathy Bowen, of Butler, Indiana, grandparents, Mrs. Vesta Bowen and Frank (and Maralyn) Cape, all of Edgerton, Ohio. He was preceded by his father Rick Bowen in 2002, grandfather, Roy Bowen.

Services for Randy L. Bowen will be Sunday, March 23, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Matt Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove cemetery in Edgerton. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, March 22.
