Don N. ‘Nate’ Bell, 27 of Findlay, died at 11:40 p.m., October 6, 2004 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. He was born on February 12, 1977 in Findlay to Don C. Bell of Forest and Mrs. Bruce R. (Peggy Gibson) Long of Columbia, SC. Mr. Bell enjoyed his job as a laborer for Findlay Auto Parts. He had attended both Findlay and Riverdale High Schools. He is survived by his parents; daughters Lakota A. of Wharton, Alanta S. of Brazil, IN, Ashlyn U., and Shelby L. both of Toledo; sisters Peachue A. (Tony) Flores, Hampton, VA, and Dawn N. (Ryan) Webb of Findlay; paternal grandmother Edith L. Bell of Forest, and maternal grandfather Franklin J. Gibson of Wharton; nephews Chase, Kristian, Logan, and Dallas; nieces Jasmine and Halee. Preceding him in death are a grandfather Wayne W. Bell, and grandmother Betty J. Gibson. Visitation will be held 2-5 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 2004 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where a memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Don N. Bell children’s fund in care of the funeral home.

Robert D. Tracewell

Robert D. Tracewell, age 78, of 1628 Greenfield Dr. Findlay, died at 10:45 p.m. Thursday at Birchaven Care Center. He was born August 17, 1926 in Tiffin, Ohio to Edward Roy and Lela Ann (Downey) Tracewell and they are deceased. He married Marjorie Way and they are divorced. He then married Anita Borkosky on July 4, 1965 and she died September 2, 1995. He then married Betty Kuch on May 8, 1996 and she survives. He worked for the United States Post Office where he was a city carrier for 24 years and had a rural route for nine years. Survivors include two step-sons: Gregory Kuch of Findlay and Dr. Christopher Kuch of Istanbul, Turkey. There are five daughters: Mrs. Billy (Sandra Marie) Seibert of Albany, New York, Mrs. James (Sharon) Harvey of Seiverville, Tennessee, Mrs. Douglas (Lois Jane) McCracken of Bloomdale, Ohio, Lori Renee Dupuis and partner M. Steven Miles of Marcellus, New York and Mrs. Scott (Bobbie Sue) Grenerth of Mt. Blanchard. One brother: William Tracewell of St. Mary's, Ohio and one sister, Christine Ross of Parkersburg, West Virginia. He has thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Leona Ruhlan. He was the past President of the Findlay Garden Club, member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Rural Letter Carriers Association. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Findlay. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 West Sandusky St. Findlay. Pastor Gordon Dickson will officiate will burial at Riverview cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Calvary Baptist Church in his memory.

Richard "Kent" McBrien

Richard "Kent" McBrien, 47, of 187 Losee St. Cygnet, died Friday, February 4, 2005 at 3:10 a.m. at his residence. Kent was born in Coffeyville, KS to Gene and Pat (Watt) McBrien on August 22, 1957 and they survive in Findlay. Kent was a loving husband of Joan Prosalik whom he married in Albany, New York and was a loving father of Richard, both survive at home. Two brothers, Glenn McBrien of Spartanburg, SC; Stephen (Sherri) McBrien of Findlay; two sisters, Diane Molter of McComb and Tanya (Dallas) Seibert of Georgetown, FL. Kent worked in maintenance at Southeastern Container Co. in Bowling Green. He retired from the U.S. Navy, after 22 years of service having served in the Gulf War as a Navy Seal. His memberships included the Veterans of Foreign War No. 1148 in Bowling Green, Submarine Veterans of American and he was a Volunteer Fireman for the Cygnet Fire Dept. Services will be held on Monday, February 7th at 1:00 p.m. at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore where full military rites will be conducted by Post No. 539 American Legion Funeral Detail. Visitation will be held from 11-1 p.m. prior to the service. Rev. Neil Norheim will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to a charity of the donor's choice.

Todd T. Rankin

Todd T. Rankin, of Mansfield and formerly of Findlay and Dunkirk died on Wednesday, February 4, 2204 in Mansfield. He was born on February 8, 1964 to Warren L. and Grace E. (Steinman) Rankin. He is survived by three brothers, Terry L., Tom R., and Tim L. all of Findlay, one sister, Mrs. Teresa (David) Stauffer of Arlington, three nieces and three nephews. He was a graduate of The Blanchard Valley Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2204 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Arlington cemetery, Madison Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to Blanchard Valley School, 1700 East Sandusky Street, Findlay, Ohio 45840.

James F. Jordan

James F. Jordan, age 63, of Findlay, died at 11:50 a.m., Thursday, February 5, 2004 at Toledo Hospital. He was born on August 22, 1940 to Richard and Naomi (Taylor) Jordan in Kenova, West Virginia and his mother survives in Circleville, OH. He married Pamela Smith on December 31, 1991 and she survives. Also surviving are his son Mark Jordan and daughter Shelly Lear, both of Findlay and his step-sons Jason L. Smith of Findlay and Jeremy Smith of North Baltimore; brothers David Jordan of Fayetteville, NC, Bill and Gene Jordan, both of Circleville, OH, Lewis Jordan of Kingston, OH and three granddaughters. Mr. Jordan was formerly employed at Findlay Ford Motor Company, Findlay. All services will be private. Arrangements handled by COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Memorials may be made to the VA Medical Center, 2215 Fuller Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48105.

Mary L. Egbert

Mary L. Egbert, 82, of rural Arlington, died at 12:15 p.m., February 6, 2004 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center, Findlay. She was born on August 18, 1921 to Verne and Mae (VanWormer) Shafer in Biglick Twp., Hancock County. Mary married William D. Egbert on August 21, 1939 and he died February 16, 1990. She is survived by five sons Donald Egbert and his children Phillip Kutz, Laura Hutson, Jason and Jesse Egbert of Findlay; Fred D. (Lou Ann) Egbert of Wapakoneta, William H. (Arlene) Egbert of Arlington and their children Mark and April Egbert; Stephen W. (Jill) Egbert of Arlington and their children Timothy Egbert and Sara Fisher; Tom L. (Lana) Egbert of Mt. Blanchard and their children Kim Wagner, Danielle Freed, Aaron Odunkensenler and Zehra Jenkins; Daniel W. Egbert is deceased, but surviving is his son Scott Egbert; a daughter A. Colleen Woerner is also deceased, but is survived by her sons Robert and Randy Woerner, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and two nieces Debbie Woodruff and Shirley Ebersole. Mary was also preceded in death by two infant daughters Betty Ann and Rose Mary; two infant brothers and three infant sisters, three grandchildren, her sister Nancy Campbell and nephew Mike Campbell. Mrs. Egbert was a member of the Mt. Blanchard Church of The Nazarene where she was the former church treasurer, worked at Findlay Industries for 16 years and sold Avon for many, many years. Mary was a very kind, loving and nurturing person who knew no strangers and was compassionate to all. Her pet Sadie was constantly by her side and will miss her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Reverend James Schrider officiating. Interment will be in Lee cemetery, near Vanlue. Visitation will be held from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2004 and from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday February 9, 2004 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, PO Box 182039, Dept. 013, Columbus, OH 43218-2039 or Bridge Home Health and Hospice, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay, OH 45840 in her memory.

Ruth G. Powell

Ruth Geraldine Powell, 80, of Findlay, died Saturday morning February 7, 2004 at Taylor House in Findlay. She was born June 10, 1923 in Toledo to Bert E. & Mabel Alice (Carson) Trumpy. She married Harold Powell, Jr. March 22, 1944 and he died Sept. 10, 1992. Ruth is survived by three sons, Douglas L. (Bonnie) Powell of Tiffin, H. Thomas (Marilyn) Powell of Toledo, Michael L. Powell of North Ft. Myers, FL; two daughters, Nancy Smith of Findlay, Debra A. (Tom) Morgan of Carey; eighteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Don Trumpy of Findlay, Bill Trumpy of Texas and Bert Trumpy of Fostoria. She was preceded in death by a son, Terry E. Powell; a son-in-law, John Smith; a brother, Ed; and two sisters, June Trumpy & Betty Rader. Ruth was a homemaker and active in the Senior Citizens of Carey and Findlay. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Pastor Chris Cravens officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove cemetery. Memorials can be made to Bridge Home Health & Hospice.

Carl R. Kistler

Carl R. Kistler, age 89 of Findlay, died at 2:45am on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center in Findlay. He was born in Hancock County on October 25, 1915 to George W. and Nettie (Swab) Kistler and they are deceased. He married Margaret Simpson on Oct. 11, 1935 and she died on Feb. 20, 1957. He then married Leola Cramer on Apr. 6, 1958 and she survives in Findlay. Also surviving are 2 daughters: Beverly Shane of Upper Sandusky and Rosalyn (Larry) Dible of Carey, 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Carol Elaine, a brother: Lester Kistler and 2 sisters: Grace Kistler and Dorothy Vogelsong and a son-in-law: Gabriel Shane. He retired from farming in Marion Twp. in 1980. He was a former member of Riverside Grange, where he held several offices. He was a former member and Sunday School Superintendent of Bethlehem E.U.B. Church, a member of the Hancock County Farm Bureau and a member of the First Assembly of God in Findlay. For 8 years he attended the Little Red School House on County Road 236 and graduated from Findlay High School. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be sadly missed by all. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday at the First Assembly of God, 127 Ash Avenue in Findlay. Pastor Darrell Ramsey will officiate and burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery. Memorials may be made to either the Hancock County Cancer Society or to the First Assembly of God.

Maxine Huysman

L. Maxine Huysman, 86 of Rural Findlay died at 9:32p.m. Tuesday November 30 at the Alterra Sterling House in Findlay. Born on March 6, 1918 in Mt. Cory, OH to the late Ray and Gayle (Keel) Light. Maxine married Arthur G. Huysman on September 5, 1936 and he died May 28, 1999. The marriage was blessed with a son Ronald A. (Maureen) Huysman of Ft. Collins, CO and a daughter Jean A. (Kenneth A.) Thomas of Rawson. Maxine has four grandchildren: Mark (Kim) Thomas of Findlay; Rodney Huysman of Anchorage, Alaska; David Huysman of Estes, Park, CO, and Melissa (Greg) Edson of Findlay and two great-grandchilren Amber and Alex Edson of Findlay. Her brother Norman (Shirley) Light of Findlay and sister Peg Russell of Parma, OH also survive. One brother Gene Light is deceased. Maxine worked at both the Buyers Group and Findlay Sundry Sales as a saleslady. Maxine was a longtime member of Powell Memorial United Methodist Church and the Eagle Grange No. 2726. Visitation will be Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday from Noon till 2:00 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Timothy Heaton officating burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, near Arcadia. Memorials may be made to Powell Memorial United Methodist Church.

Harold L. Boehm

Died 12/1/2004

Harold L. Boehm, 87, a retired Eagle Township Farmer, of 208 North Main St., Jenera died at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday December 1 at the Good Samaritan Center, Arlington. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington. The casket will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, with Rev. Alois Schmitzer and Rev. Philip Henning officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Harold was born July 13, 1917 in Eagle Township, Hancock County to the late John G. and Dora (Bormuth) Boehm. On August 30, 1942 he married Hermine E. Heldman who survives along with sons: Jim H. (Linda L.) Boehm of Racine, WI; Mark N. (Jane A.) Boehm of rural Rawson; daughters: Ruth A. (John) Schwertfeger of Mankato, MN; and Linda E. (Dan M.) Webb of rural Jenera. Surviving grandchildren are Mike Schwertfeger, Rev. Scott Schwertfeger, Jill Schwertfeger, Jamie Lindemann, Brian Boehm, Beth Boehm, Angela Ebeling, Melissa Boehm, Andrew Boehm, Ben Webb, Lindsay Webb, and Lori Webb and great-grandchildren: Autumn and Grace Schwertfeger, Ethan Lindemann, Alyssa Ebeling, and Silas Ebeling. Harold's two brothers Kermit and Paul Boehm and two sisters LaVonne Traucht and VeraWeihrauch are all deceased. Harold was a lifelong member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera where he served as a trustee and was also a former Eagle Township Trustee. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Organ Fund.

Dolores J. Buck

Dolores J. (Burket) Buck, 91, of Findlay died at 8:50 p.m. on December 2, 2004 at Birchaven Care Center, Findlay. She was born December 2, 1913 in Findlay. Dolores was the daughter of Harley H. and Ada M. (Kitchen) Burket. On November 16, 1938, she married Edward J. Buck in Decatur, Indiana and he died February 25, 1997. Dolores is survived by a son, William E. (Cheryl) Buck of McComb; three daughters, Berthe M. Williamson and Deanna K. (David) Basinger both of Findlay; Sandra S. Buck of Ottawa; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Betty J. Buck. After graduating in 1932 from Findlay High School, Dolores attended Findlay Business College. For fifty years she was a partner in Buck Excavating Co. She was a member of First United Brethren Church. Services will be held on Monday, December 6 at 10:30 a.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Darwin P. Dunten officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8. Memorials may be made to First United Brethren Church or Bridge Home Health and Hospice.
