Elizabeth L. Drais

Elizabeth L. Drais, age 82, of Findlay, died at 2:52am on Monday, November 8, 2010 at Bridge Care Center in Findlay. She was born in Findlay, Ohio on April 11, 1928 to the late Harold and LaDonna (Cooksey) Morgan. On June 19, 1948, she married Robert E. Drais and he survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Mara L. Drais of Cincinnati, Ohio. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Ellen (Morgan) Houdeshell and Ruth (Morgan) Hull. Elizabeth was a homemaker and retired as a secretary at the Findlay Y.M.C.A. She is a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and the C.C.L. Visitation will be held at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay on Friday, November 12, 2010 from noon until 1:00pm with a memorial service beginning at 1:00pm. Pastor Larry Kreps will officiate. Interment will be at Maple Grove cemetery.

Nancy Ann Patterson

Nancy Miller Patterson born April 27, 1937 in Bluffton, Ohio to Glenn and Olive (Lemon) Miller passed away at 8:45 a.m. on November 27, 2010 at Birchaven Village, Findlay. She moved to Vero Beach, FL 29 years ago from her home town Findlay, Ohio. She taught at ARC in the preschool for several years, earning, "Employee of the Year." She leaves behind daughters: Susan (Glen) Vermilya, Findlay, Ohio, Jane (Gary) Rohan Los Angeles, California; adopted son, Jerry (Cathy) Durain, Jr. Arlington, Ohio; seven grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Predeceasing her, father, Glenn Miller; brother, Duane; husband of 30 years, Jay Patterson; and dear companion, Jerry Durain, Sr. At the request of Mrs. Patterson there will be no service. She will be buried next to Mr. Durain in Knollcrest cemetery, Arcadia, Ohio. Arrangements entrusted to COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Memorials can be made in lieu of flowers to Cancer Patient Services, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and/or Bridge Home Health and Hospice.

John VanDenEynde

John B. VanDenEynde, 94, of Findlay, OH died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 9:35 AM at Fox Run Manor. He was born September 19, 1916 in Gross Pointe, MI to the late Saveer and Jessie (DeLooze) VanDenEynde. He married Betty Giesey on September 10, 1956 and she preceded him in death on June 29, 2010. He is survived by two sons: Clfford "Skip" (Donna)VanDenEynde of Dowling, Ohio and William Walters of Findlay, Ohio; also one daughter, Leslie (David) Hills of Findlay, Ohio. He is survived by thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. John is also survived by three sisters: Madelin Myers of Findlay, Ohio, Margaret Lanagan of Findlay, Ohio and June Hickerson of Findlay, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel VanDenEynde and daughter, Kimberly Lovell. Also preceding John in death were three brothers: Albert, Emil and Frank VanDenEynde and four sisters: Germain, Mary, Salina "Wink" and Joan. He worked for Sausser Steel and Sugar Beet Co. A chapel service will be Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the Knollcrest Chapel. Pastor Mike VanDenEynde will officiate. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.

Lois Maxine Roth

Lois M. Roth, age 81, of East Clay St., Mt. Blanchard, died at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Amanda Township, Hancock County, Ohio on July 13, 1929. Her parents were Robert B. and Florence M. (Howard) Dunbar, both deceased. On August 7, 1949, she married Delbert Young and he died on March 28, 1976. She is survived by her husband Calvin Roth, whom she married on January 7, 1978; daughter, Joretta J. Young of Toledo, Ohio; stepson, Kevin Roth of rural Mt. Blanchard; stepdaughter, Julie Roth of Grove City, Ohio; four granddaughters: Rhonda Wintringham, Jodi Nye, Jossie Steinmetz, Kerstin Harr, two grandsons: Brandon Harr and Thomas Craley, three great-grandchildren: Weston Nye, Olivia Wintringham and Chelsea Wintringham, two brothers: Robert G. Dunbar and Keith E. Dunbar of Mt. Blanchard, and numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased brothers and sisters are Carol Dunbar (1928), Howard C. Dunbar (1970), Blanche M. Alge (1974), Helen M. Dunbar (1977), D. Reuben Dunbar (1982), G. Dale Krout (1989), H. Gene Dunbar (2005), and Evelyn M. Steinman (2008). Lois was a 1947 graduate of Mt. Blanchard High School, and she was the salutatorian of her graduating class. Lois started working at Hostler's Grocery Store at age 15 and then at Harry Foster's Grocery, both of Mt. Blanchard. After graduating high school she worked at Garwood Industries in Findlay for 18 months before taking a year off for the birth of her daughter. She then worked for Triplett in Bluffton until her husband was transferred to Auburn, Ind., for a year. Moving back to Ohio she again worked at Triplett for the same boss for a total of 35 years before retiring. She then worked 17 years at Cooper Tire & Rubber Company in Findlay as a part-time replacement before ending her working career in 2003. Lois was noted for her singing abilities and sang at many weddings and church services. Her favorite hobby was reading, and she loved to go to live theater productions and dancing with her husband, Calvin. Lois enjoyed wintering in Clearwater, FL., where she was active in the Red Hat Society. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 17, 2010 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where visitation will be held from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2010. Pastor James Williams will officiate and burial will follow in Riverview cemetery, Mt. Blanchard, Ohio. Memorials can be made in her memory to Bridge Home Health and Hospice, The American Cancer Society or The American Heart Association.

Nana Lee

Nana Lee, age 86, of Findlay passed away at 8 a.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at her residence. She was born February 12, 1924 to J. Wilbur and Ova (Hartman) Peters in Biglick Township and they preceded her in death. Surviving Nana are brother; Gerald (Marlene) Marvin of Vanlue, sisters; Grace Sherman of Findlay, Gertrude (Karl) Gingrich of Findlay, Sharyn Sheehan of Sarasota, FL, and many nieces and nephews. Also preceding Nana in death is a sister Doris Basinger. Nana graduated from Arcadia High School in 1942. After high school she began work in the computer offices at Marathon Petroleum where she retired in 1986 after 43 years. She was a long time member of Enon Valley Presbyterian Church, and 7th degree member of the Biglick Grange. Nana enjoyed playing in her card club for over 50 years, and loved her cat "Cloud." Funeral services will be held Monday, August 30, 2010 at 11 a.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Tom Everett officiating. Burial will take place in Union cemetery, West Independence. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Enon Valley Presbyterian Church.

Cora M. Baker

Cora Mikesell Baker, age 96, formerly of Toledo died at 12:05 AM Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at her daughter's residence. She was born October 7, 1913 in Darke County, OH. She was the third of 11 children born to the late Bert and Treva (Lantz) Mikesell. Cora was a 1934 graduate of Women's and Children's Hospital (now Riverside Hospital) in Toledo. She then worked as an RN private duty nurse. She told her family about caring for a farmer's wife and newborn child. The farmer had to sell a pig to pay for her nursing care. On March 28, 1942, she married Louis H. Baker and he preceded her in death on May 23, 2005. She is survived by two daughters, Judy (Gene) Greer of Toledo and LouAnn (Roy) Cousino of Findlay; grandchildren: Melissa Cousino, Daniel (Kim) Cousino and David (Lisa Lewandowski) Greer. Also surviving her are brothers, Robert (Kathryn), Russell (Doris), and John Mikesell. Two sisters and five brothers preceded her in death. Also surviving are: sisters in-law: Christine, Moleta and Shirley Mikesell along with many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was a lifelong member of Hampton Park Christian Church, Toledo and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Cora and Louie were active members of Toledo, state and national Wally Byam Airstream Clubs. They traveled extensively with the club and attended many rallies. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, September 2, 2010 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME where visitation will be from 3:30-6:30 PM. Chaplain Meg Knape officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, Sept. 3, 2010 at Hollansburg cemetery, Darke County, OH with Pastor Joe Hanna officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio (Toledo) or to Bridge Hospice (Findlay) in her memory.

Kevin E. Cramer

Kevin E. Cramer, age 55, of Chicago, IL., died after he took friends sailing. After returning to the dock, he took his dog for a walk. He collapsed while walking and died of a massive heart attack. He was pronounced dead at 4:51 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Thorek Hospital, Chicago, IL. He was born on April 15, 1955, in Findlay to the late Richard D. Cramer and Matilda (Tillie Rader) Cramer, who survives in Findlay. Kevin is also survived by a brother, Roger E. (Chris) Cramer; sisters: Evelyn L. (Charles) Merrin and Janis C. (Angelo) Conti; 15 nieces and nephews; and 16 grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brother Donald Wayne Cramer. Kevin was a 1973 graduate of Liberty-Benton High School and a 1979 graduate of Owens Technical College. He worked for Bell Security when he was attending college. Security Officer Kevin Cramer was given an award for his life-saving at an October 7, 1978 fire at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He received this award during the 33rd Annual Safety Awards Banquet at the Elks Lodge, Findlay. He moved to Chicago after graduation and was employed at the Columbus Hospital as a bio-medical engineer for over 20 years. After the hospital closed, he went to work for a fews years at another Chicago Hospital. Upon leaving the hospital, he was employed by Midwest Blood Recovery Systems as an Auto Transfusionist Bio-Medical Engineer. He was currently working for them. He enjoyed the opera and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra as well as sailing and his dog. Kevin bought a one-sail sailboat (Silent Running), which he later donated to an organization in Florida that worked with under-privileged children. He later bought a two-sail sailboat (Euphoria) and enjoyed taking his friends and family out sailing. Kevin bought a one year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever in 2004. He named him Riley, and if you saw Kevin, you saw Riley and vice versa. Even though he lived in Chicago, Kevin remained close to his family. He called his mother almost every evening. Kevin will be remembered with joy--and sadly missed by his family and Riley. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2010 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2010 and from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. on Friday before the service. Pastor Darwin Dunten and Rev. Steven Merrin will officiate and burial will follow in Maple Grove cemetery, Findlay. A memorial service will be held at Montrose Harbor, Chicago in front of Kevin's sailboat on September 12, 2010. Memorials can be made in his memory to the American Heart Association.

Helen L. Good

Helen L. Good, age 97, of Findlay died at 11:12 a.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2010, at Birchaven Health Care Center. She was born on May 3, 1913, to the late Thomas and Lydia (Orth) Crawford in Arcadia, OH. After the age of two, she made her home with her grandparents Louis M. and Effie (Bowman) Orth. She married Ralph Dean Good on December 25, 1940, and he preceded her in death on March 23, 1995. Helen is survived four daughters: Melinda (Gary) Culp of Arcadia, Nancy Jo (Michael) Curtis of Findlay, Mary Jane (Terry) Rader of Bradenton, FL, and Debra Panning of Pemberville, OH; two brothers: Gene Crawford of Lima and Marion Crawford of Frankton, IN; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Crawford and son-in-law Kurt Panning. Helen graduated from Arcadia High School and Findlay College. She was a telephone operator for the Arcadia Telephone Company which was located in the Orth home. She was employed as a secretary to county superintendent of schools, E.E. Ray, was a receptionist and secretary to Dr. F.H. Pennell of Fostoria, office manager of Findlay Hearing Aid Center and retired from the Hancock County Health Department where she was Registrar of Vital Statistics and secretary to the Hancock County Board of Health. Helen was also a member of the Board of Trustees for the local chaper of the AARP. She was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Arcadia where she taught Sunday school and sang in the Choir. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010, from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME and for one hour (10:00 - 11:00 a.m) prior to the service at the church. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2010, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Arcadia with Pastor D.J. Dent officiating. Burial will follow in Arcadia cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Helen to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church or Bridge Home Health and Hospice.

Robert Glenn Major

Robert Glen Major II, age 58, of Findlay died at 2:25 a.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2010, at Fox Run Manor. He was born July 22, 1952 to the late Robert Glen and Mary Jane (Worthington) Major. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He married Linda Poe on July 4, 2000 and she survives. Also surviving are siblings. Sue J. (Major) Stanfield and Craig A. (Kathy) Major; nieces and nephews, Audra J. Major; Shawn Stanfield; Andrea Stanfield; Troy, Kody and Kyle Major, all of Findlay; 8 grand nieces and nephews and one great-grand-niece. He loved his family, dog and music and enjoyed playing the harmonica, guitar and drums. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 at Parkview Christian Church with Pastor Neil Norheim officiating. The Hancock Co. Veterans Memorial Squad will present military rites at the conclusion of the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Hospice in his memory. Arrangements entrusted to COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.

Michael Warren Bryson

Michael Warren Bryson, age 52, of Findlay died at 3:49 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at St. Vincents Mercy Medical Center after complications from surgery. He was born in Findlay on September 2, 1957, to the late Claward E. and Burneice (Green) Bryson, Sr. On May 15, 1982, he married Nighisti Keleta and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Miriam Angel Bryson, sister Angela Bryson Smith, brother Brian Keith Bryson and niece Jamie Bryson Smith. Michael was preceded in death by his brother Claward Bryson Jr. He was a 1975 graduate of Findlay High School. Following high school he moved to California and started a family of his own. After the death of his mother, Michael returned to Findlay. He was currently employed at ABC Warehouse. Michael was a loving husband, father and brother who will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Michael to Mission Time Holiness Church, 301 West Front St, Findlay, OH 45840.

F. Clark Roberts

F. Clark Roberts, 87 of Findlay passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010 at 4:47 p.m. at Birchaven Village. He was born July 3, 1923, in Portage Twp., Hancock County to the late Ralph J. and Verna (Errett) Roberts. He married Leatha M. Rothenbuhler on August 15, 1943 at Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria. They enjoyed 63 years together until her death on August 2, 2006. Clark is survived by his children: Cam Lea (Gary L.) Taylor of rural Findlay and Robert Clark (Deborah) Roberts of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren: Andrea (Gary) Altman II of Findlay, Matthew (Stefanie) Taylor of Bluffton, Amy (Dennis) Rhodes of Charlotte, NC and Anell (Anthony) Massey of Honolulu, HI; and seven great-grandchildren ("the wee ones"): Kailea, Zachary, Ethan, Amelia, Nathan, Hobson and Aaron. Also surviving are sisters: Elaine Bourie of Ft. Wayne, IN and Barbara S. (Lenard) Wagner of Van Buren. Mr. Roberts was a 1941 graduate of Van Buren High School. He served in the U.S. Air Corp during WW II at the Western Command Center in Denver, CO. He was employed for 34 1/2 years with Ashland Oil and Refinery Company and retired as supervisor from the Valvoline Division in 1985. Mr. Roberts served as Mayor of Van Buren, OH from 1960-63 and was past board member of the Van Buren School Board from 1962-65. He was Van Buren School Board President in 1965. He was a member of the Hancock County Sheriff's Auxiliary and the Buckeye Sheriffs' Association. He was a 60 year member of the Free & Accepted Mason Lodge #227 of Ohio, The Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio, Grand Council Royal and Select Masons of Ohio, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Lodge Council Chapter Consistory, Trustee and Ambassador Emeritus Zenobia Temple, Ambassador Northwest Shrine Club, Honorary member of the Shriners A Team, Findlay Shrine Clowns, 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Life Member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Findlay Masonic Temple Association, Findlay Knights Templar, Knight Masons of Dublin, Ireland, Royal Order of Jesters, Kachina Club, Troop 313 Boy Scout Council, and a proud member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and Captain in the Ohio Defense Corp. He was also a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Clark's favorite holiday was the 4th of July and instilled in his family love for this Country and was always a true Patriot. Clark's favorite color was red, so please feel free to wear red to the visitation and services in honor of Clark. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Funeral services for Mr. Roberts will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at First Lutheran Church, E. Lincoln St., Findlay, where there will be visitation one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Pastor Bob Cochran and Dr. Mark Brodbeck will be officiating. Burial will be in the Bechtel cemetery, Van Buren, where full military rites will be conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. Memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children c/o Shrine Temple, 8048 Broadstone Ave, Perrysburg, OH 43551, Honor Flight c/o The Elk's Lodge, Findlay, and Birchaven Care Center, Findlay.

Kenneth G. Cramer

Kenneth G. Cramer, 82, of Pandora and formerly of Findlay, died at 9:00 a.m., Monday, August 30, 2010, at his residence. He was born on August 7, 1928, in Hancock County to the late Charles and Macie (Schoonover)Cramer. He married Doris Jean Roether on February 4, 1950, and she survives. Also surviving is a son, David (Darla) Cramer of Findlay; a daughter, Tamara (John) Diller of Pandora; a sister, Thelma Crawford of Findlay; grandchildren: Angie (Andrew) Basinger, Tracy (Scott) Long, Jennifer Morris, Jared (Amy) Diller, Jeffery (Melissa) Cramer, Kristy (Josh) Kurtz, Amanda (Corey) Coe, Joel (Melissa) Diller and Stephanie Cramer; 17 great-grandchildren. A son, Terry Cramer preceded him in death. Ken retired from Central Oil and Asphalt in Findlay. He was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Benton Ridge, a former member of the Liberty-Benton School Board and was an avid Liberty-Benton Eagle fan. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 2, 2010, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, with Pastor Kevin Pees officiating. Burial will be in Benton Ridge cemetery, Blanchard Township. Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice and/or Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Benton Ridge, in his memory.
