Benito "Benny" Molina

Benito "Benny" Molina, Jr. of Findlay, died Monday night, December 1, 2008 as the result of an accident. On March 9, 1952 he was born in Laredo, Texas to Benito Molina, Sr. and the late Emma (Flores) Molina . In addition to his father who survives in Findlay, he is survived by two sons: Israel (Heather) Molina of Cincinnati and Moses Molina of Anaheim, California; two daughters: Elisabeth (David) Taylor and Rebecca (Lenny) Irwin of Wilmington, Ohio; siblings: Diane Sosa of Anthony, New Mexico; George (Anita) of Findlay; Irma (Jerry) Bell of Granger, IN; Joe of Fremont; Daniel of Findlay; Albert of Findlay; Eddie of Findlay; Norma (Mike) Bolman of Leipsic and Judy Molina of Findlay; and ten grandchildren. Benny was a 1970 graduate of Findlay High School, attended Bowling Green State University; a Belen Temple Minister in Leipsic during the 1980's, local musician for many years, a counselor at "The Drop-In House" and employed in the maintenance department at Owens Community College. Visitation will be Friday 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 PM at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Services will be on Saturday at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME at 10:00 a.m. with Bishop Terry McBeath officiating. Burial will follow at Knollcrest cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the funeral home.

Robert Henry Comer

Robert H. Comer, Sr. 85, of Findlay, died at 9:47 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at The Heritage. He was born on November 21, 1925, in Sidney, OH to the late James M. and Clara R. (Bryan) Comer. He married N. June Walborn on August 23, 1947, and she preceded him in death on July 29, 2009. He is survived by sons: Robert H., Jr. of Findlay and Daniel of Whiting, NJ; a brother: Sonny of Sidney; sisters: Patricia Fugate, Ruth Wick and Ethel Cruskshank, all of Sidney; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Also preceding him in death was a son, Philip; brothers: Henry, Wayne and Harold; a sister, Marjorie Gertner. Bob retired after 60 years as a truck driver. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served our country in World War II and was in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a life member of the D.A.V. #43 and the Moose Lodge #698. Visitation will be held Monday, March 7, 2011, from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m., at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday in the Knollcrest Gardens Chapel, east of Findlay. Where burial will follow and full military rites will be conducted by the Hancock County Veteran's Memorial Squad. In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial contributions may be made to the Amercian Cancer Society, in his memory.

Mary A. Cope

Mary A. Cope, 88, of Findlay passed away at 7:05 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2011 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. Mary was born on October 12, 1922 to the late Bert and Pauline (Clemens) Gassman. She married Paul E. Cope on August 25, 1951, and he preceded her in death on November 24, 2010. Mary is survived by brother, Karl (Barbara) Gassman of Findlay; sister-in-law, Mary L. Cope of Findlay; nieces: Nancy Kinser of Findlay, Patti (Rick) Gill of Findlay, Beverly (Steve) Cope-Combs of Bowling Green, OH, and Barbara (Allan) Foltz of Findlay; great-nieces and nephews: Steve (Shawna) Lamb, Shelly (Chuck) Henzler, John Kinser, Julie Thomas, Sherrie (Matt) Gonyer, Brett Gill, Amy (Ashley) Whitney-Rawls, and Andrew Foltz. Mary was a graduate of Findlay High School. Mary served her country proudly in the U.S. Army Air Forces during WWII. She worked for and retired from Marathon Oil Company after 41 years of service as the service coordinator. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Findlay. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Father Christopher Bohnsack will officiate and burial will follow in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay. Memorials may be made in her memory to St. Michael the Archangel Parish and/or Bridge Home Health and Hospice, Findlay.

Robert C. Dysinger

Robert C. "Bob" Dysinger, 88, of Findlay, passed away at 2:15 p.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at his residence. He was born on October 13, 1922 to the late Howard and Lela (Thompson) Dysinger in Wood County. He married Anna Mae Hartranft on May 29, 1943 and she survives. They were married for sixty-eight years. Bob was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Dysinger in 1963. Bob is also survived by sons: James Dysinger of Oklahoma City, OK, and Jeffrey Dysinger of Fairborn; daughters: Mrs. Allen (Carol) Dillon and Mrs. Greg (Patty) Grohoske both of Findlay; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; a brother, Everett (Kay) Dysinger of Galion; sisters: Mrs. Bonnie Dove of Findlay, Mrs. Dorothy McClarren of Galion, Mrs. Wilbur (Veda) Shifley of Galion and Mrs. Donald (Betty) Gehrisch of Galion; and sister-in-law, Oletha Dysinger of Findlay. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Carl "Ed" Dysinger of Findlay and a sister, Mildred Burrell of Findlay. Bob proudly served is country in the U. S. Navy during WW II. Bob attended Van Buren United Methodist Church, was a member of Ralph D. Cole Post #3 and the American Legion, and a 1942 graduate of Van Buren. Bob and Anna spent twenty-five years of wintering in Palmetto, FL. He loved his dog (pug): Oddie. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 3, 2011 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay with Pastor Lowell Reeder officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove cemetery, Findlay, where full military rites will be provided by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. Visitation will be two hours (12:00-2:00 p.m.) prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Home Health & Hospice and/or American Heart Association.

Robert Palmerton

Robert Palmerton, 65, of Findlay, died at 8:06 p.m., Sunday, June 27, 2010, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He was born on September 4, 1944, in Findlay to the late Carl E. and Maxine (Smith) Palmerton. Robert was retired from Atlas Crankshaft in Fostoria. He is survived by his sister, Patty (Ronnie) Sterling of Townville, PA; nephews: Chuck (Tina) Sterling and Carl (Susan) Sterling; a niece, Linda Seeley; great-nephews: Jacob and Joey Sterling; a great-niece, Jessie Sterling; special friends: Gene and Dave Lentz; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and the love of his life, his dog, Buddy. He was preceded in death by his companion, Sue Stillberger. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 1, 2010, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, with Reverend David Clark officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Patient Services and/or American Heart Association, in his memory.

Annabell Moore

Annabell Moore, 86, of Findlay passed away at 7:58 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2011 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. Annabell was born on February 18, 1925, to the late Eli and Dora (Potts) Birchfield in Mason, WV. Annabell married Raymond H. Moore on December 21, 1945, and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1987. Annabell is survived by daughters: Georgetta (Kenny) Neville and Billie (Randy) Clymer both of Findlay; 7 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Annabell was also preceded in death by son, Raymond R. Moore; and 7 siblings. Annabell was a homemaker and also worked for City Laundry for 25 years. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Zion Bloom cemetery, Amanda Twp., Hancock County, OH. Bishop Terry McBeath will officiate. Memorials may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice, Findlay.

Doris Briggs

Doris Briggs, 89, of Findlay, passed away at 7:30 AM, Friday, March 4, 2011 at Birchaven Village. She was born on February 15, 1922 in Galion to the late Alfred and Veronica (Pifher) Weithman. She married Charles W. Briggs and he preceded her in death. She is survived by: one son, Dan (Cindy) Briggs of Findlay; one daughter, Charla (Ned) Lust of Bucyrus; three grandchildren: Erin Briggs of Columbus, Corey Lust of Philadelphia, PA and Courtney (Zachary) Osborn of Grove City; and one brother, Eugene Weithman of New Washington. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Weithman. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Findlay and was active with the Senior Center. She was a retired dispatcher with the Bucyrus Police Department. All services are private, with burial in Holy Trinity Catholic cemetery, Bucyrus, OH. Arrangements were entrusted to COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Findlay and/or Senior Center, Findlay.

John Harry Stroh

John (Jack) H. Stroh passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the age of 78 after a seven-year battle with cancer. He was born in St. Louis on November 10, 1931 and graduated from Washington University in 1953 and Harvard Law School in 1958. Jack was a U.S. Army veteran, and a partner with Foster Vogel & Stroh, as well as Thompson Coburn (Mitchell) practicing primarily in the Federal Courts. From 1984 until 1999 he was Senior Attorney with Marathon Oil in Findlay. Jack was a member of the Moolah Shrine, Veiled Prophet and Missouri Athletic Club. He was the son of John H. Stroh and Isabelle Elizabeth Connor Stroh. His first marriage was to the late Alice Vogel Stroh of St. Louis. He is survived by his second wife Marilyn Picker Wilson Stroh, daughters Elizabeth Ione Stroh, Katharine Celia Stroh; stepchildren Pearce Wilson, Julie Barbeau, Shade Wilson, Mike Wilson, and 12 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20 at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home in Findlay, with a service to follow at 6 p.m. Jack will be laid to rest at Leduc cemetery in Gasconade County, Missouri at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 23. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Blanchard Valley Health Foundation Nursing Scholarship Fund.

Sarah E. Johnson

Sarah E. Johnson, 84, of Findlay passed away at Birchaven Village at 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 20, 1927, in Rawson, OH, to the late Robert and Marguerite (Gorby) Ewing. She married Glenn A. Johnson on June 16, 1945, and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1992. She is survived by her daughters: Rebecca Ann (Frederick) Dingeldein of Painesville Township, OH and Margaret "Peg" Lynn (Earl) Stalter of Akron; a daughter-in-law, Janet (John) Selick of Findlay; grandchildren: Michael (Leslie) Dingeldein, Thomas (Rebecca) Dingeldein, Kristin (Steve) Blair, Andrea (Shane) Kokensparger, Douglas (Nicki) Stalter, Allison Stalter and Jenna Stalter; great-grandchildren: Sarah, Roseanne, Cheyenne, Natalie and Addison. Preceding her in death was a son, David A. Johnson; brothers: Gorby and Paul Ewing; sisters: Mary Spaeth, Roberta Babcock, her twin sister, Martha Ewing, Edith and Kathryn Ewing. Sarah was a faithful member of Howard United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Choir and United Methodist Women. She was a 50 year member of the Rebekah Lodge. Sarah loved being a mom, grandma and great-grandma to her family, which she adored. The family would like to thank the faithful members of Howard United Methodist Church for all of their caring support. Additionally the family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Birchaven, Grand Court, Blanchard Valley Hospital and Bridge Home Health and Hospice. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 28, 2011, at Howard United Methodist Church, Findlay, with Reverend Jason Wellman officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood cemetery, North Baltimore. Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m., Sunday, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 205 West Sandusky Street, Findlay, and 1 hour (10-11 a.m.) prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Howard United Methodist Elevator Fund, in her memory.

LaVerne David Lee

LaVerne "Vern" David Lee, age 71, of Findlay, passed away at 5:10 p.m. on Monday, February 21, 2011 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 22, 1939 to Bernard J. and Gladys L. (Fadley) Lee in Hopewell (Seneca County). He married Judith Rine and they divorced. Vern later married Barbara Emery and they divorced, but remained friends. He is survived by four children: Tim (Terri) Lee of Enterprise, AL, Todd (Rebeca) Lee of Chesapeake, VA, Susan (Tim) Hamilton of Findlay, and Karen Lee of Columbus; six grandchildren: Tim Lee, Jr. of Alabaster, AL, Kristal (Trevor) Kesler of Helena, AL, Sean Lee and Patrick Lee of Chesapeake, VA, and Colton Hamilton and Austin Hamilton of Findlay. He was a 1958 Graduate of Green Springs High School and a 1959 graduate of the Toledo Barber College. He was a local barber for 45 years and owned and operated Lee’s Barbershop from 1967 until his retirement in 2004. He was a Private in the Army National Guard. Vern was a member of Amvets Post 21 and D.A.V. Buddy 43 and a former member of Moose Lodge No. 698 and U.C.O.A. He was a star athlete for Green Springs High School. Vern pitched a no hitter for the varsity baseball team in 1958 against Woodville. He was a 4 year member of the Green Springs Varsity Basketball team. He was a Toledo Blade All Star Basketball Player in 1956-1957 and 1957-1958. He also played football in high school. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, golfing, attending his grandsons' baseball games, playing cards, and collecting antique toys. He was an Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed watching Nascar races. He also enjoyed following the stock market and cared for his mother until her death in July 2010. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2011 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Pastor Neil Norheim will officiate. Graveside services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday at Green Springs cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by the Marion H. Peck American Legion Post #295 and V.F.W. Post 6067 in Green Springs, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Home Health & Hospice.

Alvenia Mae "Allie" Riter

Alvenia "Allie" Riter, 89, of Findlay went to be with her heavenly father at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Sunrise Assisted Living, surrounded by her family. Allie resided at Sunrise of Findlay since 2007. She regarded all of her friends and family as she would a flower garden. Each person, a flower that is to be adored and loved. Her love was, equally, returned by all those in her garden. Allie was born March 5, 1921 in Portage Twp, Wood County, Ohio the daughter of the late Stanley and Ida M. (Black) Patten. She was the widow of Richard "Dick" W. Riter, who preceded her in death June 1, 1990, they were married November 1, 1939, they enjoyed 50 years together. Allie is survived by sons A. Jerry (Jo) Riter of Findlay and Steven W. (Joyce) Riter of McComb OH. There are seven grandchildren Missy Riter-Taylor, Jeffery, Drew, Jeremy, and Craig Riter, Stephanie Rule, and Darin Riter and great-grandchildren Brittany, Makenna, Mason, Findley, Colin, Meg and Todd Riter. She was preceded in death by two brothers Harold and Frank Patten and two sisters Sylvia Helm and an infant. Allie along with Richard were lifelong farmers in Jackson Twp. In addition to being a homemaker she worked several years at the Courier newspaper in the advertising display department. She was a member of the former Riverside Grange and Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 25, 2011, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 26, 2011, with Pastor Mark O. Burden officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Grove cemetery. Memorials are requested to be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Larry Lee Trytko

Larry L. Trytko, 68, of Findlay, died at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He was born on April 20, 1942, in Gary, IN, to the late Eugene and Faith E. (Kemper) Trytko. He is survived by his daughters: Niki L. Hingson of Gilbert, AZ and Julie M. Trytko of Findlay; brothers: Kenneth W. (Marie) of Tampa, FL and James A. (Lynda) of Findlay; grandchildren: Allyson, Adrian James, Hayley and Bree; great-grandchildren: Jordan and Abbigale; and his long time best friend, Al (Theresa) Stewart of Van Buren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 25, 2011, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, with Reverend Mike Spann officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Findlay. Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, and 1 hour (10-11 a.m.) prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Patient Services, in his memory.
