William "Benny" B. Haggard

William Benjamin "Benny" Carver Haggard, 61, of Findlay passed away at 9:08 A.M., Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born on September 23, 1946, to the late Roy and Evelyn (Griffith) Carver in Lima, OH. He is survived by two sisters: Virginia (Henry) Minnich of Lima and Dorothy (Alan) Weyrauch of Lima; and a good friend, Eleanor Cornet of Findlay. He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Mirley (Gene) Hughes and Maude (Moris) Sponsler. All services will be private and entrusted to COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Memorials may be made in his memory to the family in c/o the funeral home.

Arlene Simon

Arlene Simon, 76, of Findlay, died at 6:35 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Fox Run Manor, Findlay. She was born on January 6, 1935, in Findlay to the late Ferd and Verena (Hageman) Borgelt. She married Frank K. Simon, Sr. and he preceded her in death. She is survived by sons: Frank K., Jr. and Michael (Jody); a daughter, Tammy Loveridge, all of Findlay; a sister, Theresa Bish of Findlay; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A sister, Evelyn Letso preceded her in death. Arlene had worked in food service for Liberty Benton Schools and Whirlpool. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 17, 2011, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, with Reverend Jason Wellman officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay. Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice, in her memory.

James Allan Beaschler

James Allan "Jim" Beaschler, age 63, of rural Findlay died at 2:18 pm. Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born in Marion, Ohio on June 24, 1943 to James H. and Florence (Uliano) Beaschler. On July 28, 1979 in St. Joseph, Michigan, he married Heidi S. Vance and she survives. Also surviving are his son, Nickolaus James; daughter, Brienne Eunice; grandson, Brayden James, all of rural Findlay; mother, Florence Keller of Marion; brother, David L. Beaschler of Pompano Beach, FL; step-brothers, Jeffrey (Gail) Keller of Dublin; Fred (Kathie) Keller of Hillard and Kevin (Cheryl) Keller of Prospect; two nephews, Michael A. Beaschler of Mason and Jason (Leslie) Beaschler of Upper Sandusky; mother-in-law, Eunice M. Vance and numerous aunts; uncles; cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by, his father; father-in-law, Harry W. Vance; step-father, Charles Keller and brother, Peter N. Beaschler. Jim graduated from Harding High School and served his country in the National Guard. He retired from the Whirlpool Corporation in 2002, although he retired as Warehouse Manager (Findlay and previously Marion & Findlay), his business card simply read "James Beaschler, Whirlpool" and that is how he would have wanted it stated. Following retirement Jim worked part-time for Lugibihl's Auto and Truck Sales in Bluffton. He attended Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Optimists International Club. Friends may call Monday from 6-8p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am. Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Concordia Lutheran Church (1431 Sixth Street, Findlay) with Reverend Joseph Fabry officiating. Burial will be in Bishop cemetery, Eagle Twp. where the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will be presenting full military rites. Memorials may be made to the church in his memory.

Ethel Hannah

Ethel Hannah, age 89, of Findlay, died at 1:45am, Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. She was born on December 5, 1921, in Asa, Kentucky to the late John G. and Mary Jane (Blair) Fairchild. On June 27, 1938, she married Alvis Hannah and he died on October 28, 2005. Ethel retired as the head cook at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. She is a member of the Stoney Ridge Baptist Church. Ethel loved to read and was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother. She is survived by five children: Burnette (Sue) Hannah of Vanlue, Bennie A. Hannah of Findlay, Jack C. (Patty) Hannah of Melbourne, Ky, Brenda K. (Bob) Miller of Findlay, and Sandra G. (Kevin) Thomas of Carey. She also has 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by three children: William E. Hannah (Jean), Lois Ann Hannah, and Jimmy C, Hannah. Also preceding her in death were her siblings: Cecil Fairchild, Fannie May, Prater Fairchild, Lexie Phillips, and Bobby Fairchild; and one great-grandson, Dylon James Hardwick. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at COLDREN CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday. Pastor Neil Norheim will officiate with burial to follow at Zion Bloom cemetery, south of Vanlue. The family requests that memorials be given to Cancer Patient Services in her memory.

Elizabeth Naus

Elizabeth "Betty" Naus, 89, of rural Findlay passed away at 8:59 a.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at her residence. She was born on January 4, 1922, to the late Amos and Dealia (Kinne) Grassley in Monroe, MI. She married John H. Naus on August 23, 1949 in Blissfield, MI and he preceded her in death on March 26, 1995. Elizabeth is survived by a son, John Lee (Cathy) Naus of Houston, TX; daughters: Kala (Scott-preceded) Brewster of rural Findlay and Sharen (Lowell) Crew of Livingston, TX; sister: Imilda Stahl of Lovells, MI., nine grandchildren; Cori(Jon) Foust, Ben Brewster, Lonnie (Nina) Phillips, Shaun(Nicole) Phillips, Matthew(Joanne) Phillips, Tammy Larson, Terri(Mark) Rodriguez, Glenn(Rachel) Crew, Greg Crew, nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one brother, three sisters and two great-great grandchildren. Elizabeth worked for the Ohio Oil Company (Marathon Oil), Findlay City Schools and Hancock County Job and Family Services. She volunteered for the City Mission and Bridge Home Health. She loved to write and was a published poet. She also played softball for Marathon Oil and collected buttons. Betty loved to play scrabble and loved life itself. She was a member of 242 Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Craig Rogghe officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to 242 Church, c/o Jessica Haas, 2130 Milestone Drive, Findlay, Ohio 45840.

Jane Heydinger

Jane Heydinger, 92 of Findlay died at 2:08 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2011. She was born in Findlay on May 12, 1919, to the late Earl and Gertrude (Moran) Wall. On May 11, 1946, she married Edward R. Heydinger and he preceded her in death on July 20, 2011. Jane is survived by three daughters; Bridget (Robert) Morgan of Bloomington, IN., Beth (Stephen) Treadway of New York, NY., Barbara (Tim) Ashburn of Lexington, KY. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Wall. Jane graduated from Findlay High School and furthered her education at Bowling Green State University. Jane was a secretary to J.C. Donnell and to Congressman Jackson E. Betts. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, where a Rosary Service will begin at 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2011, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, (East) with Msgr. Michael Hohenbrink and Fr. Chris Bohnsack officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Richard L. "Dick" Sims

Richard L. "Dick" Sims, 83 of Findlay died at 8:15 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2011. He was born on September 24, 1927, in Findlay to the late Clem H. and Mabel A. (Yost) Sims. On January 3, 1948, he married Betty Jean Alge, and together they had had five children; Diane (Paul) Spearman, Jerry (Thais) Sims, Rick (Sandy) Sims all of Findlay, Dan Sims of Rawson, Mark (Bonnie) Sims of Findlay. Betty preceded him in death in February of 1957. On August 31, 1957, Dick married Betty Gorman and she survives, and together they had one son, Phil Sims, of Findlay. He is also survived by his sister Carol Ridge of Findlay, eighteen grandchildren, thirty eight great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and his favorite niece, Carolyn North of Gaylord, MI. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Don and Mick Sims and four sisters; Marilyn Bisbee, Dorothy Siferd, Marge Keel and Virginia Ridge. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserves for eleven years. Dick retired from the Findlay City Police Department as a Sergeant Detective in 1979. He also worked for Barnhart Funeral Home and San-A-Pure Dairy. Dick was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie. Capt. Dick was licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard to pilot salvage ships on Lake Erie. Dick also enjoyed watching NASCAR. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Chet Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. Memorial contributions can be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice or to First United Brethren Church.

Odah H. Johnson

Odah H. Johnson, 96, of Findlay, passed away at 2:39 AM, Saturday, September 10, 2011 at The Heritage. She was born on June 9, 1915 to the late Henry E. and Grace (Dennis) Johnson in Hoytville, OH. Odah also was preceded in death by two sisters: Chloe G. Elder and Taupa Johnson. Odah was a member of StoneBridge Church of God. She graduated from Findlay High School in 1933 and Findlay College in 1938. Odah had been a bookkeeper at Ray's Bakery, Daisy Maid Bakery, and San-A-Pure Dairy. When she was at the bakery, a loaf of bread cost eleven cents. She was a faithful and charitable person, giving to children's charities. Odah was a member of the Hobby Club, loved to crochet, do embroidery and enjoyed walking. One of her favorite sayings was, "A person should always try to do their best." Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with DuWayne Chambers officiating. Burial will follow at McComb cemetery. Visitation will be one hour (12:00-1:00 p.m.) prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Findlay Area Youth for Christ and/or charity of donor's choice.

Bonnie L. Stultz

Bonnie L. Stultz, 67, of Findlay died at 8:18 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at Blanchard Valley Hospital. She was born in Findlay on March 8, 1944, to the late Lester A. and May Elizabeth (Walker) Honse, Sr. Bonnie married John E. Stultz on September 3, 1962 and they were divorced. She is survived by two daughters; Jane Stultz and Sheryl Stultz, both of Findlay, son John E. Stultz, Jr., of Findlay, two brothers; Lester(Sally) Honse, Jr., of Bluffton, David(Janet) Honse of Findlay, two sisters; Judy(Jim) Wineland and Barb Thompson both of Findlay, her granddaughter, Tiffany and numerous nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her sisters Nellie Detwiler and Rose Rettig. She retired from Nissin Brake. Bonnie will always be remembered for her baking. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2011 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Walt H. Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay. Memorial contributions can be made to Cancer Patient Services.

Ardinelle E. "Ardie" DePuy

Ardinelle E. (Ardie) DePuy, 87, of Findlay, passed away at 4:40 PM, Monday, September 12, 2011 at Birchaven Village. Ardie was born on October 11, 1923 to the late Herbert and Dorcas (Harshman) Inman. She married James E. "Ed" DePuy on March 1, 1942 and he preceded her in death on December 19, 2006. Ardie is survived by her son, James L. DePuy, Findlay; and daughters: Sharon (William) Rhoad, Cape Coral, Fl, Jan (Mike) Miller and Tish DePuy both of Findlay. Also surviving is her brother: Richard "Dick" (Tina) Inman; sister, Judy (John) Richter; seven grandchildren: Terri Dutton, Wendy McCarty, Steve Rhoad, Mike Rhoad, Mike Miller, Ben Miller and Amanda Hartman; eight great-grandchildren: Danielle Greer, Sean Greer, Tyler Dutton, Dalton Dutton, Alic Dutton, Jessica Rhoad, Taylor Rhoad and Sara Rhoad; one great-great-grandchild: Emmalee Tobin. Ardie was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Inman; sisters: Marjorie Beck, Alverta Inman and Virginia Karpuleon; and daughter-in-law, Lois M. DePuy. Ardie was a lifelong member of St. Marks United Methodist Church, and presently attended First United Church of Christ. Her memberships included: Sycamore Golf Course and Women of the Elks. Ardie was a 1941 graduate of Findlay High School and Volunteered with Blanchard Valley Hospital Axillary. Ardie loved bicycling, golfing, playing bridge, and spending time with her family. Ardie retired from the Findlay High School Cafeteria. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, September 15, 2011 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 16, 2011 at the funeral home, with Rev. William Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Patient Services and The Alzheimer's Association of Northwest Ohio.

Raymond Darrell "Ray" Stahl

Raymond Darrell "Ray" Stahl, 74, of Findlay, passed away at 7:17 PM, Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born on December 24, 1936 in Mt. Blanchard to the late Ralph and Elsie (Yoakum) Stahl. Ray married Barbara K. Finerd on September 20, 1958 and she survives. Ray is also survived by sons: Kevin Stahl and his companion Bree, Karl (Carol) Stahl; and daughter, Judy (Mike) Butler all of Findlay. Ray is survived by grandchildren: Sara Pugh, Shawn Butler, Gene Neiling, Jakeb Neiling and seven step-grandchildren; and great-grandchildren: Joshua Seek, David Seek, Jennifer Seek, Titus Nault, Cody Butler, Aric Butler and eleven step-great-grandchildren. Ray is survived by three brothers: Merle Stahl of Arcadia, Ken Stahl of Lorain, and Richard Stahl of Findlay; and two sisters: Doris Ennis of Plantation, FL and Faye Gordon of Findlay. He was preceded in death by brothers: Wayne and Dean Stahl, and sister, Dorothy Gore. Ray was a Boiler Operator at Great Western Sugar Co. for many years and later he worked at Cooper Tire and Rubber Co. where he retired in 1992. He was a former member of Eagles Club 2118, and graduated from Liberty-Benton High School in 1957. Ray enjoyed many activites including: fishing, camping, attending Liberty-Benton sporting events, to watch his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ray was an avid Ohio State Buckeye, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM, Friday, September 16, 2011 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay and one hour (10:00-11:00 AM) prior to the service. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the funeral home, Major James and Joan Sayer officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove cemetery, Findlay.

John Dennis Westrick

John Dennis Westrick, 63, of Findlay passed away at 4:28 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2011, at his residence. He was born on July 19, 1948, to the late Carl C. and Mary Catherine (Annesser) Westrick in Ottawa, OH. John married Karen L. Powell on May 17, 1990, and she survives. John is also survived by two stepdaughters: Amber (Matt) Moser and Kelli (Ryan) Lieb both of Findlay; three brothers: Carl Westrick of Ottawa, OH, Thomas (Lori) Westrick of Findlay, and Richard (Norma) Westrick of Ottawa, OH; and four grandchildren: Trey and Mara Moser, and Trevin and Kendall Lieb. He was preceded in death by his brother, Willie Westrick. John served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy from 1967-1971 during the Vietnam War. He worked for and retired from Whirlpool in 2010. John had a love for athletics, nature, and wildlife. He also loved to travel out west and to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and he enjoyed reading. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2011 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, and from 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday until the time of service. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Msgr. Michael Hohenbrink officiating. Burial will follow in Benton Ridge cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. Memorials may be made to Cancer Patient Services and/or Bridge Home Health and Hospice.
