Frank Psurny
(1919 - 2005)

Frank Joseph Psurny Sr., 85, of Bryan, died Friday, March 11, 2005, at Harborside Healthcare Center-Bryan.
Born May 8, 1919, in Williams County to Francis (Hornacek) and Michael Psurny, he married Ilo Mavis on Dec. 22, 1938, in Bryan, and she preceded him in death.
The owner/operator of Frank's Sunoco Service Station in Bryan, he retired in 1984. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Bryan VFW Post No. 2489 and the Loyal Order of Moose, Bryan. He had served in the Navy during World War II.
Surviving are a son, Frank J. (and wife, Susan) Psurny Jr. of Leesburg, Fla.; a daughter, Cheri Bowers of Bryan; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; five stepgrandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Donald (Mary) Saurbeck of Auburn, Ind.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Janet Lehmann and Deanna Jacobs; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and four brothers, Gotlieb Psurny, Joseph Psurny, Edward Psurny and Victor Psurny.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home with a scripture service to be held at 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Father Charles Ritter to officiate. Burial will follow at Fountain Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Anita Esquibel-Floor
(1963-2005)

TOLEDO - Anita Esquibel-Floor, 41, of Toledo, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at her residence. Born Dec. 22, 1963, at Wauseon, to Rebecca (Fuentes) and Benjamin Esquibel Sr., she married Gary Floor on July 21, 2001, and he survives.
A 1982 graduate of Defiance High School, she was a homemaker and had worked for the Kidney Foundation and their support groups. She was also a graduate of Northwest Technical College and Spanish Bible Institute. She attended Calvary Assembly of God in Toledo.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by stepsons, Troy (and wife, Alicia) Floor and Matthew (Tara) Floor, both of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a brother, Benny Esquibel Jr. of Archbold; two sisters, Nora Esquibel of Mission, Texas, and Mrs. Gilbert (Norma) Martinez of Defiance; and parents.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-9 p.m. in the Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, Defiance, and Friday from 10-11 a.m. in the Archbold Assemblies of God-Templo Cristiano, Archbold. A remembrance service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Misael Rodriguez to officiate. Burial will be in the Archbold Cemetery.

Ralph D. DeShetler,
(1939-2005)

MONTPELIER - Ralph D. DeShetler, 65, of Montpelier and formerly of Toledo, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at the emergency room of Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers-Montpelier, following a two-year battle with cancer.
Born Aug. 8, 1939, in Toledo, to Frances (Demaree) and Wilson DeShetler, he married Linda Rae Clay on Dec. 29, 1964, at Lebanon, Va., and she survives.
A graduate of Blessed Sacrament and Whitmer High School in Toledo, he retired in 2001 after approximately 15 years at Zepf Community Health Center as an unlicensed social worker and head of the maintenance dept.
A U.S. Army veteran, he attended St. Casper's Catholic Church in Wauseon. He was a member of the Pioneer Lions Club, A.M.A. (Academy of Model Aeronautics), and was past president of the Fountain City Square Dance Club, Bryan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Eric (Renee) Weber of Delta and Todd (and wife, Stefanie) DeShetler of Dallas, Texas ; three grandchildren, Raymond and Sarah Weber and Grace DeShetler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, La Vita Bellner and a nephew, Brad Bellner.
Visitation will be held Thursday after 10 a.m. in St. Casper's Catholic Church, Wauseon.
A prayer service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the church with Father Bob Holden to officiate.
Interment will occur later at Forrest Lawn Cemetery, Logan, W. Va. Thompson Funeral Home-Montpelier is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Pioneer Lions Club Sight Program, American Cancer Society or to the donor's choice.

Jane C. Lewis

Jane C. Lewis, 74, of Bryan and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday evening, March 9, 2005, at Hillside Country Living near Bryan.
A memorial service will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dwight Bowers to officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church or J.I.M.s Place c/o First United Methodist Church of New Philadelphia.
The Burr Funeral Home & Crematory is handling the arrangements.

Lucille Elizabeth Boetz
(1922-2005)

PIONEER - Lucille Elizabeth Boetz, 82, of rural Pioneer, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at the Dream Haven Adult Group Home in Edgerton following a brief illness.
Born Dec. 2, 1922 in Defiance County to Florence (Carpenter) and Walter Carpenter, she married George Boetz on June 5, 1940, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Defiance, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 2002.
A 1940 graduate of Tiffin Township High School, she was a former Defiance resident and had lived in Pioneer since 1955. She retired from Pioneer Transformer Company in 1987 as production supervisor after over 30 years of service. After retirement, she worked at Montpelier Auto Auction. She and her husband were lifelong farmers for over 60 years in Defiance and Williams counties.
A 20-year member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla No. 11-06, she was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Port Clinton and the Loyal Order of the Elks in Wauseon. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montpelier.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jack (Shirley) Eckert of Bowling Green, Mrs. Richard (Debora) Meyers of Pioneer and Mrs. Danny (Barbara) Oyer of PIoneer; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Ernstmeyer, Lisa Eckert, Craig Meyers, Dustin Meyers, Ashley Stewart, Kelsie Oyer and Shaylee Oyer; and four great-grandchildren, Avery and Andrew Ernstmeyer, Makayla Meyers and Alex Proper.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Eugene and Jim Carpenter.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer with a Rosary service at 8:30 p.m. with Deacon Ralph Dominique to officiate.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montpelier with Father Fred Duschl to officiate. Interment will be in the Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.
Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to Dream Haven Adult Group Home in Edgerton.

Jesse L. 'Chalkey' Short
(1913-2005)

ARCHBOLD - Jesse L. 'Chalkey' Short, 91, of Archbold, died early Monday morning, March 21, 2005, at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon, where he had been a patient since March 7, following a short illness.
Born Sept. 1, 1913, near Archbold, to Malinda (Aeschliman) and Amandus Short, he married Lucille Lantz on Sept. 20, 1933, and she survives.
A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, he had owned and operated the Jesse L. Short Oil Co., Mid America Highway Express, was part owner of Bryan Truck Line and later owned and operated Blissfield Truck Line.
He was a charter member of the Zion Mennonite Church in Archbold.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, James L. (and wife, Barbara) Short and Gregory A. Short, both of Archbold; two daughters, Mrs. Marlin (Nancy) Riegsecker of Upland, Calif. and Linda Rychener of Glendale, Ariz.; two daughters-in-law, Maggie Short and Suzette Short, both of Archbold; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (Pauline) Short and Lawrence (Ruby) Short, both of Archbold; and a sister, Fannie Gisel of Archbold.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Terry Short and Larry Short; a son-in-law, Tom Rychener; a grandson, Brent Short; three brothers, Nathaniel 'Smoke' Short, Willis 'Bill' Short and Cornelius Short; and two sisters, Kathryn Nofziger and Mary Short.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. in the Zion Church Fellowship Hall.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Zion Mennonite Church with Pastors Ron Guengerich, Mona Sauder and Anne Stuckey to officiate. Interment will precede in the Pettisville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Zion Mennonite Church or the donor's favorite charity.
