HELEN L. THEIL

HELEN L. THEIL, 88, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Sunday, March 2, 2014
She was born in Maynard, OH on March 22, 1925, a daughter of the late Michael and Eva (Chernik) Bailer.
She was a retired price checker for Krogers of St. Clairsville, OH. She was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents and her husband, William R. Theil she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Mitchell, Stella Syty and Wanda Bailer; three brothers, Mike, Andy and Peter Bailer.
She is survived by son, William M. (Judy) Theil, Columbus, OH; daughter Deborah A. (Frank) Kujawa, Dillonvale, OH; She is also survived by five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. David Stammerjohn officiating.
Interment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.

TRAVIS C. TOMER

TRAVIS C. TOMER, 64, of Woodmont, Martins Ferry, OH died Monday, April 7, 2014 at his residence.
Travis was born in Wheeling, WV on November 28, 1949, a son of the late Willard G. and Rosalind E. (Brynaski) Tomer.
He was a retired maintenance supervisor at United Dairy and a memeber of the American Legion, Post 38, both of Martins Ferry. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Jo (Longevitch) Tomer and a brother, Willard E. (Sally) Tomer, Gloucester, VA.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating. Interment followed in Upland cemetery, Yorkville, OH.
Memorial contributions may be made to Martins Ferry Fire Dept. Martins Ferry, OH 43935.

MARY L. BLUTHARDT

MARY L. BLUTHARDT, 73, of Lakeland, FL and formerly of Martins Ferry, OH and New Castle, PA, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014.
Mary was born in Martins Ferry, OH on January 9, 1941, the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Kimmey) Kalo.
Surviving are her husband, John Bluthardt; daughter, Pamela Sue Casella, Chester, VA; son, Kenneth D. Richmond, Richmond, VA; step-daughter, Carla Jo (John) Lambert, Bristol, IN. She is also survived by five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the funeral hoem Tuesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.

JOAN J. (SORGE) MORANDO

JOAN J. (SORGE) MORANDO, 81, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Saturday, April 19th, 2014.
She was born in East Mauch Chunk, PA. on December 3, 1932, the daughter of the late Pierson A. and Freda E. (Bowes) Sorge.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Ancient Order of Hiberians both of Martins Ferry.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Morando; one daughter, Patricia Jo; sister, Gloria Edwards.
She is survived by two sons, Timothy (Charlene) Morando, Boca Raton, Fl.; Thomas (Tess) Morando, Wheeling, WV; daughter Terrie Ann (Harry) Wright, Martins Ferry; sister, Judy (Gary) Prendergast, San Antonio, TX; brother, George Sorge, Martins Ferry; six grandchildren, Erin, Angela, Tyler, ; Travis, Amy and Allison; four great-grandsons, Matthew, Anthony, Liam and Noah; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 24th, with Rev. Tom Marut as the celebrant.
Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 3 follow by a wake service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church 20 N. 4th Street or SMC 2000, 24 N. 4th Street, both of Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.

PATRICIA L. McGILL

PATRICIA L. McGILL, 69, of N. Shady Lane, East Liverpool, OH, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014.
She was born in East Liverpool, OH on January 18, 1945, the daughter of the late Frank and Audrey (Grenlee) Knox.
She was a retired registered nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Leland L. McGill; two daughters, Wendy Woods, Westminster, CO.; Lori (Jay) Roach, Martins Ferry, OH; two step-sons, John (Yun Chin) McGill; Lee (Connie) McGill; seven grandchildren, Lindsey (Kyle) Johnson; John Dedrick; Melissa (Josh) McFarland; Michael Roach; John McGill, Jr.; Devon and Ayden McGill; three great -grandchildren William and Carter Johnson and Mya McFarland.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

LAWRENCE J. ROY

LAWRENCE J. ROY, 77, of Sharon Road East, Bridgeport, OH died Friday, May 2, 2014.
He was born in Martins Ferry, OH on March 30, 1937, son of the late Lawrence J. and Stella R. (Biela) Roy.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired carpenter and painter for Ormet Corp. of Hannibal, OH. Lawrence was also a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church of Colerain, OH.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Michael Hajdin and two sisters, Cindy Paul and an infant sister.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce A. (Cowen) Roy; son, Douglas A. (Julie) Roy, St. Louis, MO; two daughters, Kara M. (John) Lysenko, Barberton, OH; Stephanie A. (Brian) Morris, Gambrills, MD; three sisters, Dorothy J. Roy, Wheeling, WV; Joan (Robert) Lurty, St. Clairsville, OH; Nancy (Ronald) Spielvogel, Martins Ferry, OH; four grandchildren, Adrian, Arden, Auriana and Conner.
Memorial Mass will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Colerain, OH, on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. with Father Dale Tornes as the celebrant.
Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 10686 St. Rt. 150, Rayland, OH 43943 or St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 72581 Colerain Road, P.O. Box 38, Colerain, OH 43916.

JOSEPH LEE RICE

JOSEPH LEE RICE, 19, of Commercial Drive, Bridgeport, OH died Friday, June 6, 2014.
Joseph was born in Wheeling, WV on January 2, 1995, the son of Randy Rice and Cheryl Lynn (Miller) Gooch of Bridgeport, OH.
He was a member of the Christian Church of Bethesda, OH. Joseph was a 2014 graduate of Bridgeport High School.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Robert Miller.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by brother, Ryan L. Rice and a sister, Alyssa Lynn Rice, both of Bridgeport, OH; aunt, Rebecca D. (Joseph) Zelek, Dillonvale, OH; cousin, Ava R. Zelek, Dillonvale, OH. Maternal grandparents; Robert and Cindy Miller, great grandmother, Vicki Miller and great grandparents, James and Sandra McLoud.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 until time of service at 7 p.m. with Bro. Tim Snyder officiating.
Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at Riverview cemetery, Martins Ferry.

CLEO MARIE SAPP

CLEO MARIE SAPP, 84, of So.7th Street, Martins Ferry, OH, died June 15, 2014.
Cleo was born in Martins Ferry, OH on January 30, 1930, a daughter of the late George Q. and Mary Ann (Gump) Conner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, James and Pete: two sisters, Eileen Smith and Carolyn Lewis.
She is survived by two sons, Vincent DeNardo and Charles (Jennifer) Sapp; two brothers, Brady (Carolyn) Conner, all of Martins Ferry and Russell (Nancy) Conner, of Wheeling, WV; numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Chelsea, Chance and Camryn.
Memorial service was held Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the funeral home at 6 p.m. with Lisa Buckingham officiating.

ANNA K. KOGUT

ANNA K. KOGUT, age 93, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Wednesday, July 9th, 2014 at her residence.
Anna was born in St. Clairsville, Ohio on December 27, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Teofil and Mary(Bockenencak) Antolak.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church Martins Ferry, Ohio.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Kogut; nine brothers, Jack, Joseph, Frank, Sylvester, Albert, Andrew, George, Stanley and Alex; and one sister, Rose Jurkowski.
She is survived by two sons, John A. (Mickey) Kogut, Bowie, Maryland; James A. Kogut, Martins Ferry, Ohio; two daughters, Barbara A. (Dennis) Klenowski, Brookside, Ohio; Connie J. (Michael) Crecion, Martins Ferry, Ohio. She is also survived by six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Keller Funeral Home, 615 Hanover St. Martins Ferry where friends will be received Friday, July 11, 2014 from 2-8p.m. Rosary services were held at 3:00p.m. and wake services at 7p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 12th, with Rev. Tom Marut officiating. Interment followed in Linwood cemetery, Blaine, Ohio 43909.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 10686 St. Rt. 150 Rayland, Ohio 43943 or Catholic Neighborhood Center, P.O. Box, Wheeling, WVa. 26003.

FRANK L. STAUFFER

FRANK L. STAUFFER, 71, of S. Third St. Martins Ferry, OH, died Saturday, July 19, 2014.
Frank was born in Martins Ferry on September 9, 1942, the son of the late John and Janet (Thomas) Stauffer.
He was a 42 year employee at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Martins Ferry plant. Frank also was employed as a Belmont County Deputy Sheriff for 35 years. He was a member and trustee of Grace Presbyterian Church, Martins Ferry. Frank was a member of the former Martins Ferry Eagles; Vigilants and Liberty F.D and the Emergency Squad; and a member of the Ohio City Lodge #486 F.A.M..
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy McKinney; and his aunt and uncle, Margaret and Roy Forni.
Frank is survived by his wife, Nancy (Kelley) Stauffer; two sons, Mike(Janet )of Bridgeport and Matt of Martins Ferry, OH; two granddaughters; Lindy and; Kylie Stauffer; grandson, Lucas Ibsen; great granddaughter, Emma Ibsen.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday July 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association/Ohio Valley Affiliate, P.O. Box 163549, Columbus, OH 43216-3549, American Cancer Society, 5555 Frantz Road, Dublin, Ohio 43017or Grace Presbyterian Church, Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935..
The Martins Ferry Fire Dept. will hold services at 6 p.m. followed by the Sheriffs Dept. at 6:30; Elders of Grace Presbyterian Church at 7 p.m and Masonic services at 7:15.

PAMELA JO DAUGHERTY

PAMELA JO DAUGHERTY, 56, of Kennedy Ave., Martins Ferry, OH, died Thursday, July 31, 2014.
She was born in Martins Ferry on February 19, 1958, a daughter of Larry and Josephine (Murabito) Walters of Bridgeport, OH.
She was co-owner of Don and Pam's Place, on Glenns Run Road and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, both of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband, Donald L. Daugherty, Jr; son, Donnie (Kristina) Daugherty, Bridgeport, OH; brother, Mike (Sheila) Walters, Bridgeport, OH; sister, Lori (Mike) Kutys, Martins Ferry; grandson, Peyton Jo Daugherty; mother-in-law, Helena Hawkey and her canine companion, Milo.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tom Marut as the celebrant.
Rosary devotions at the funeral home Wednesday at 3 followed by a wake service at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 5555 Frantz Road, Dublin, Ohio 43017.

ZITA JEAN HOSKINSON

ZITA JEAN HOSKINSON, 88, formerly of Nixon Run, Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, August 1, 2014.
She was born in Benwood, WV on December 17, 1925, a daughter of the late Mont and Anna (Higgins) Bonar.
She was a graduate of O.V.G.H., School of Nursing 1946; a retired employee of of the former Ohio Valley General Hospital of Wheeling and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Hoskinson; son, James and a sister, Kathryn
Mrs. Hoskinson is survived by daughter, Janet I. (Richard) Crane, Wayne, ME; daughter-in-law, Patricia A. Hoskinson, Wheeling, WV; two grandsons, Matthew (Mary) Crane; Geoffrey (Karen) Hoskinson; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Ricardo) Marquez; Meredith Crane.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Sunday 2 to 4 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2014, with Rev. Tom Marut as the ce;ebramt/
