ALBERT L. DOUGHTY, 80, of N. Zane Hwy. Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Saturday, August 5, 2006 at his residence.
He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on June 22, 1926, he was the son of the late Walter E. and Anne A. (Minger) Doughty.
He was a retired contractor for the former Doughty Bros. Construction Co. of Martins Ferry.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma E. Phillips Doughty; brother, Homer Doughty; two sisters, Wanetta "Sis" Bazar and Helen McFarland.
He is survived by son, Albert L. Doughty, Jr., Martins Ferry; two daughters, Alberta Lee Doughty, Martins Ferry and Madeline C. Wilkes, Chesterfield, S.C.; four brothers, Robert, Casa Grande, Arizona, Roland and Edward, both of Martins Ferry, and Raymond, Yorkville, Ohio; sister, Catherine Zukowski, Martins Ferry. He is also survived by one grandaughter, and one great grandaughter.
Services are private at the convenience of the family.

PETER F. MORANDO, 76, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Monday, August 14, 2006 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV.
He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on July 15, 1930, a son of the late Dominic and Mary E. (Diorio) Morando.
He was a retired Wholesale Driver/Salesman at Nickles Bakery and a part time employee of The Citizens Bank, both of Martins Ferry. He was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Past Commander, Past Finance Officer, and a 50 year member of the American Legion Post 38 and a member of the former V.F.W., all of Martins Ferry, a member of the BCTGM Local 19. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infand daughter, Patricia Jo; infant sister, Patricia Ann Morando.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joan J. (Sorge) Morando; two sons, Timothy (Charlene) Morando, Boca Raton, FL; Thomas (Tess) Morando, Wheeling, WV; daughter Terrie Ann (Harry) Wright, Martins Ferry, OH; Eight brothers, Rocco (Theresa) Morando, Bellefontaine, OH; Anthony Morando, Miami, FL.; Dominic (Edith) Morando, Jr., Yorkville, OH; Michael Morando, Atwater, CA; Geno Morando, Sandusky, OH; John Morando, New Martinsville, WV; Robert (Sandy) Morando, Fort Knox, KY; Richard (Barbara) Morando, Medina, OH; two sisters, Judy Howells, Yorkville, OH; Evelyn Calmbacher, New Martinsville, WV; grandchildren, Erin (Drew) Capezzera, Jacksonville, FL; Angela Morando, Jacksonville, FL; Tyler and Travis Morando, Wheeling, WV; Amy and Allison Wright, Martins Ferry, OH.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Martins Ferry at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2006 with Rev. Thomas A. Magary officiating.
Interment followed at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio where military honors were given by the Belmont Co. Council of the V.F.W.

THOMAS F. HAMM, SR., 88, of S. 4th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Friday, August 11, 2006 at East Ohio Regional Hospital.
He was born in Wheeling, WV on November 7, 1917, the son of the late Edward L. and Anna R. (Barrett) Hamm.
He was a retired salesman at Genuine Parts Co. of WV, formerly of Wheeling. He was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church; a member of B.P.O.E. Lodge # 2321; Past Exalted Rulers Association and Past President of the Elks Bowling Association; member of the American Legion Post 38 all of Martins Ferry. Tom also served in th U. S. Army "Air Force" during W.W. II.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, William E., Robert L. and John B. "Jack" Hamm; and infant sister.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J. (Letzelter) Hamm; son, Rev. Thomas F. Hamm, Jr., Wintersville, Ohio; sister, Catherine T. Uttermohlen, Montecello, Indiana; brother in law, Richard T. Letzelter, Martins Ferry; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2006 with Rev. Thomas F. Hamm, Jr., the celebrant and Rev. Thomas A. Magary con-celebrating. Mausoleum entombment followed in Mt. Calvary cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
Rosary devotions were held Sunday at 3 p.m. followed by Elks services at 7:30 and Vigil services at 8:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to SMC 2000, 24 N. 4th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.

THEODORE K. "TED" GREY, 92, of Ferryview Road, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Monday, August 21, 2006 at East Ohio Regional Hospital.
He was born in Ambridge, Pa. on April 29, 1914, a son of the late Gomer and Mamie (Rothermund) Grey
He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Martins Ferry Plant. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Martins Ferry, where he was a lifetime Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, former Elder, Deacon and Trustee of the church. He served in the 243d U.S. Army Air Force Unit as a Staff Sergeant in WW II.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Muriel Andrews and his second wife, Mary P. DePasquale; son, Edward A. Grey; brother, Charles J. Grey; two sisters, Nancy Nord and Vera Mitchell.
He is survived by daughter, Mary E. Grey, Wheeling; sister, Betty Darrah, Cortland, N.Y.; granddaughter, Megan G. Buckley and her husband, James, Martins Ferry; grandson, Michael Groome, Wheeling; great grandson, Aden G. Hubbard; great granddaughter, Brynn E. Buckley, both of Martins Ferry; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Grace Presbyterian Church, Martins Ferry, at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2006 with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.
Interment followed in Riverview cemetery, Martins Ferry.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, 7 N. 4th St., Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.

CONNIE ROSCOE, age 55, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Friday, August 18th, 2006 at Ohio State Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
Connie was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on July 22, 1951, she was the daughter of Helen (Bishop) Sall.and the late Walter M. Sall Jr.
She worked as a Licensed Nurses Aide for 15 years.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Kurt Eye, Saratoga, NY.; two daughters, Melanie (Dave) Abueg, Kissimmee, Fla., Moriah Johnson, Bridgeport, Oh.; a brother, Mike (Jean) Sall Cheyenne Wy.; three sisters, Sandra (Flip) Wilson, Belmont, Oh., Joyce (Tim) Steele, Sommerton, Oh., and Judy Darrah, Belmont, Oh.; and her fiance Larry Gossett, Wheeling, WVa.. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren.
Services were private at the convenience of family.

SALLY L. PERRY, 70, of Selby Apts., Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Thursday, September 7, 2006 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, W. Va.
She was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on May 13, 1936, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Kathryn J. (Davis) Youst.
She was a retired owner of Grandma's Candies and Gifts formerly of Wheeling and Martins Ferry. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, and a former Girl Scout Leader for over 35 years in Martins Ferry
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin R. Perry; brother, Jack Carpenter and stepfather, Lee Rutter.
She is survived by son, E. Eugene Perry, Dubuque, Iowa; two daughters Carol L. Vargo, Bridgeport, Oh. and Donna R. Coulter, Ogden, Kansas; grandson, Chris Coulter, Ogden, Kan.; three granddaughters, Dawn Vargo-Brown, Pittsburgh, Pa., Wendy Vargo, Mechanicsburg, Oh. and Alexis Vargo, Bridgeport, Oh.; two great-granddaughters, Christina Blake Brown, Pittsburgh, Pa. and Kerrigan Carter, Mechanicsburg, Oh..
Funeral services were held at the Grace Presbyterian Church, Monday September 11, 2006 at 11 a.m. with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating. Interment followed in Riverview cemetery, Martins Ferry.
Bereavement services were held by the Elders of the church Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, 7 N. 4th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.

THELMA V. MONAHAN, 84, formerly of Park Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio died Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Heartland -Lansing Nursing & Rehab. Center, Lansing, Ohio.
She was born in Wheeling, W. Va. on August 15, 1922, the daughter of the late Frank and Agusta (Mundt) DeLucas.
She was a retired Deli Manager at Brookside IGA, where she was employed for 15 years. She was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, A.A. Monahan and her second husband, Edward J. Monahan and also two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by dear friends, Michael, Betsy and Krista Holderman of St. Clairsville.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 with Rev. Thomas A. Magary as the celebrant. Interment followed in Grandview cemetery, Salem, Ohio.

KATHLEEN MARY RIELL, 78, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, passed away Friday, September 15, 2006 at Sunset Health Care, Adena, Ohio.
She was born in East Harttree, England on June 12, 1928, a daughter of the late Bertie Daniel and Lillian (Martin) Simmons.
Kathleen was a retired seamstress of the former Bobbie Brooks/AAA Garment of Bellaire and Dee's Country Bridal in Bridgeport. For her love of children, Kay was a Sunday School Teacher for many years at St Paul's Episcopal Church in Martins Ferry. She also developed a Heritage program there and a community lunch program for children in the summer. She also worked as an assistant Girl Scout Leader, participated in many ladies social groups at St. Paul's and was a member of the Martins Ferry Chapter of the Red Hat Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles of forty seven years whom she met while he was stationed in the Army-Air Force during World War II; her brothers, Harry, Percy, Arthur, Archie, Bert, Ernest, Arnold and James; her sisters, Grace, Violet, Edna and Daisy.
Surviving are her son, Charles Arnold Riell, Martins Ferry; two daughters and their husbands, Elizabeth Ann (Lis) and H. J. (Butch) Miller of Martins Ferry, Deidree (Dee) Joy and Robert Higgs, Bridgeport; three sisters, Doris (Harry) Ward, Dora Lorraine Osborn and Margaret Coleman and many nieces and nephews all of England. Also her three beloved cats, Red, Flower and Dillon and many wild animals, deer, birds, rabbits and raccoons that she delighted in feeding in her backyard.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 18, 2006 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 1 p.m. with the Reverend John Brandenburg officiating. Interment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
Memorial contributions may be made to St Paul's Episcopal Church, 612 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.

MARLYN JEAN TRAVIS SHRODES, 73, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Thursday, October 5, 2006 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry.
She was born at home in Martins Ferry, Ohio on May 31, 1933, daughter of the late Warren and Sally (Slegar) Travis.
She was a Christian by faith and a former employee of Nickles Bakery of Martins Ferry.
Marlyn was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by son, Randy (Amy) Shrodes Martins Ferry; brother, Warren Bud (Pam) Travis, Wake Village, TX.; two grandchildren, Jeremy Matthew (Pam) Shrodes and Mallory Jo Shrodes, her favorite cutie pie; two great grandchildren, Donovan Matthew Shrodes and Dominick Alexander Shrodes, all of Martins Ferry.
Services were held at the convenience of family.

CHARLES LEE WILKINS, 84, of Hanover Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Sunday, October 15, 2006, while in the company of his loving family members at his residence.
He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on August 27, 1922, son of the late William and Wenola (Ellis) Wilkins.
Charles Lee attended Ohio University, served with the Marine Corp for six years and retired from the Army after 30 1/2 years. He served in W.W. II, Korea and Vietnam. He worked over 10 years with United Telephone Co. in Ft. Myers, Florida. He was a lifetime member of Grace Presbyterian Church where he served as a church Trustee. Charles Lee was a 50 year member of the Masonic Order and the Scottish Rite and a 46 year member of the Osiris Shrine. He was the commander of the Legion of Honor Osiris Shriners in 2004. He was the president of the Bull Town Association from 1998-2004. He was a life time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and a member of the Elks for 45 years, all of Martins Ferry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann D. Wilkins: three sisters, Ruth Wilson, Lavonne and Laverne Wilkins.
He is survived by his wife, Willa K. Morris Wilkins; two step sons, Lucas, at home; Ben (Becky), Martins Ferry, Oh.; step daughter, Dee (Sheridan) Friske, Hartford, Mich.; four grandchildren, Tim (Janet), Cathy (John), Shelia (Dave) and Simon; six great grandchildren, Kyle and Erin, Tyler and John Lucas, Jenna and Mia; four sisters, Lois Jean (Joe) Kiss, Freemont, Oh.; Evelyn Bertschy, Fenton, Mich.; Jerri (John) Gallagher, Viera, Florida; Linda Archer, Martins Ferry, Oh.; several nieces and nephews..
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church, 7 N. 4th St., Martins Ferry with Rev. William O. Webster officiating.
Interment followed in Riverview cemetery, Martins Ferry.
Bereavment service was held by the Elders of the church Wednesday at 7 p.m. followed by Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m.
Military honors were given by the Belmont Co. Council of the V.F.W. at 11 a.m at Grace Presbyterian Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church or the Osiris Shriners, P.O. Box 2048, Wheeling, W. V. 26003.
