MARGARET JANE "JANIE" GORDON, 58, of Rayland and formerly of Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Monday, April 23, 2007 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va..
Janie was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on August 18, 1948, the daughter of the late Betty L. (Sponhaltz) and Ned Smith who survives her of Colerain, Ohio.
In addition to her father she is survived by her husband, James E. Gordon; daughter, Kathryn S. (Larry) Cuffman, of Bucyrus, Ohio; four grandchildren and one great grandson.
Memorial services were held at the funeral home Saturday, April 28, 2007at 7 p.m., with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.

ALLAN A. LINDE, 41, of Deep Run Road, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at East Ohio Regional Hospital.
He was born in Fitchburg, Mass. on May 4, 1965, a son of Alice M. (Milbert) Linde of Martins Ferry.
He was employed as a truck driver and a tattoo artist.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Devin and Corey; three brothers, William, Robert and Ricky Linde, all of Martins Ferry; two sisters, Janice Linde, Tavernier, Florida and Barbara (Mark) Archer of St. Clairsville; as well as nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Friday, April 27, 2007 at 7 p.m., with Pastor Philip Van Dam officiating.
Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

FELIX J. NICKLE, 89, of Washington Blvd., Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Thursday, April 26, 2007 at his residence.
He was born in Yorkville, Ohio on February 11, 1918, a son of the late John and Mary (Sudol) Nickle.
Felix was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church of Martins Ferry, a retired ironworker and a member of Pittsburgh Ironworkers Union Local, served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant during W.W. II, a member of the American Legion of Hookstown, Pa. and the V.F.W. of Yorkville, Oh.
He is survived by his wife, Frieda (Wasle) Nickle; three sons: Felix, Jr. (Lynn), Castle Rock, Colo.; Kevin, Martins Ferry; Alvin, Denver, Colo.; three daughters: Marlene Nickle, Denver, Colo.; Mary (Eric) George, Granville, Oh.; Tina Nickle, Peyton, Colo.; brother, Bernard Nickle, Cleveland, Oh.; also six grandchildren.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Martins Ferry Monday, April 30, 2007 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Thomas A. Magary as the celebrant.
Interment followed in Upland cemetery, Yorkville, Ohio.
Rosary was recited Sunday at 3 followed by Vigil service at 7:30 p.m.

RAY C. ELLIS, 87, of Nixon Run Road, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at his residence.
He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on March 15, 1920, a son of the late Charles and Effie (Caldwell) Ellis.
Ray was a retired general superintendent at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Steubenville Plant, a member of First Baptist Church of Martins Ferry, a member of Ohio City Lodge # 486, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and the Osiris Temple. Ray also served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II as a technical sergeant in Company C of the 2759th Engineers Combat Battalion.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior and James Edward Ellis and a sister, Thelma Pasz.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Lewis Ellis, a brother, Bill Ellis and a sister, Erma Reasbeck both ot Martins Ferry and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at the convenience of the family.
Entombment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

WILLIAM J. ASHTON, 86, of Totterdale Addition, Bridgeport, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, Ohio.
Bill was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on November 29, 1920, the son of the late David and Alice (Evans) Ashton.
He was a retired supervisor at the former International Harvester of Shadyside, Ohio. He was a 59- year member of B.P.O.E. Lodge # 2836, secretary for 32 years, Past Exalted Ruler Association and a member of the Elks bowling and golf league.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Lyle and Alice Mae Ashton
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Stella L. (Reasbeck) Ashton; two sons, W. Gregory (Janna) Ashton, Southlake, TX. and Terry J. (Donna) Ashton, St. Clairsville, Oh.; three grandsons, Scott, Jason and Bradley; three granddaughters, Heather, Amanda and Stephanie; three great grandsons, Brett, Cameron and Evan; one great granddaughter, Ashton Leigh and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass was held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, Friday June 1, 2007 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Thomas A. Magary the celebrant and Msgr. David Reasbeck concelebrating.
Interment followed at St. Mary's cemetery, Martins Ferry.
B.P.O.E. Lodge #2836 held services at the funeral home Thursday at 7 followed by Wake service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to SMC 2000, 24 N. 4th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.

DONALD L."HANK" BURGER, 73, of Indiana Street Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Sunday, May 27, 2007 while in the company of family members at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, W. Va.
Hank was born in Wheeling, W. Va. on April 21, 1934, a son of the late Henry W. and Matilda M. (Auth) Burger.
He was a retired crane operator at the former International Harvester of Shadyside, Ohio. He was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church of Martins Ferry. Hank also served in the U. S. Marines.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Donald Lee; daughter, Donna Burger; three brothers, Raymond, Charles and Herbert.
He is survived by his wife, Doris J. (Reasbeck) Burger; two sons, David L. and Bruce A. (Mindy) Burger, both of Martins Ferry; two daughters, Becky A. Burger, Martins Ferry and Debbie C. (John) Baker, Rayland, Ohio; brother, Henry E. (Lisa) Burger, Shadyside, Ohio; two sisters, Mary E. Ries, St. Clairsville, Ohio and Dorothy A. Reynolds, Bellaire, Ohio; two grandsons, Luke and Bruce; four granddaughters, Jacqueline, Brooke, Blair and Jill; great grandson, Lane.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Thomas A. Magary as the celebrant and Msgr. David Reasbeck concelebrating.
Interment followed at St. Mary's cemetery, Martins Ferry.
The Belmont Co. Council of the V.F.W. gave military honors at the cemetery.

BONNIE GAY (KELLER) STEWART, 60, of Grant Ave., Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Saturday, July 14, 2007, while in the company of family members at her residence.
She was born in Martins Ferry, on June 26, 1947, daughter of the late Wilbur J. and Jo Ellen (Maher) Keller, who survives her of Martins Ferry, Ohio.
She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Appalachian Behavioral Health, Cambridge, Ohio. She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church of Martins Ferry, Ohio.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by three sons, Harry W. (Lori) McCabe, Moore, Ok., Jamie P. McCabe, Wheeling, WVa., Noah L. Stewart, Martins Ferry; two daughters, Lucy L. McCabe, Centreville, Va., Melissa A. (Steve) Hill, St. Clairsville, Ohio; brother, Wilbur J. (Brenda) Keller, Jr., Bridgeport, Ohio; two sisters, Linda J. Keller and Arlene R. Keller, both of Martins Ferry; niece, Erica Keller; grandchildren, Jill, Janelle, Autumn and Harriet McCabe, Tori and Ashland McCabe, Cyrus Hill and Faith and Anna Stewart.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, Tuesday July 17, 2007 at 10 a.m. with Msgr. George Coyne as the celebrant
Interment followed in Riverview cemetery, Martins Ferry, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to SMC 2000, 24 N. 4th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.

PATRICIA A. McGLOTHLIN, 57, of Skyview Drive, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Saturday, July 14, 2007 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va.
She was born in Wheeling, W. Va. on May 3, 1950, the daughter of the late Edward R. and Mary Margaret (Gallagher) Bentz.
She was employed as a Human Resource Assistant at Techno-Cap, Glendale, W. Va. for 37 years.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by one sister, Penny Sue Bentz.
She is survived by her husband, Robert J. McGlothlin; brother, Edward R. Bentz, Wheeling; aunt, Joan Gallagher, Wheeling; niece, Jennifer L. Bentz, Wheeling; and her best friend, Sparky.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.
Interment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

CECELIA A. BIANCONI, 79, of N. 8th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Sunday, July 15, 2007 in East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry.
She was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on August 28, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Ruggero and Catherine (Columbo) Bianconi.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry and a retired employee of Wheeling Downs, Wheeling, W. Va.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, William Bianconi and two sisters, Catherine Lucille Strickler and Betty Marchbank.
She is survived by four nephews, Kevin Marchbank, Rayland, Ohio; William Strickler, St. Clairsville; William Bianconi, Charlotte, N.C.; Bruce Bianconi, St. Clairsville, Ohio; two nieces Holly Gudzik, Cleveland, Ohio; Sharon Tomolonis, New Athens, Ohio.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Thursday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Bill N. Lawrence officiating.
Interment followed in Riverview cemetery, Martins Ferry.
Bereavement service were held by the Deacons of the church Wednesday at 7 p.m.

HARRY A. BLOTZER, 89, of Hughes Ave., Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Thursday, July 19, 2007 in East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry.
He was born in Wheeling, W. Va. on September 1, 1917, son of the late Harry A. and Elizabeth (Thiers) Blotzer.
He was a retired carpet and linoleum installer for the former Heslop Furniture of Martins Ferry; member of the First Presbyterian Church, Martins Ferry; and served in the U. S. Army during W.W. II.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by one brother, William Blotzer.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret (Almashy) Blotzer; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Moore of Cupertino, Ca.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services were held at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio on Saturday, July 21, 2007 with Rev. Dr. Bill N. Lawrence officiating.
