ROSE M. TANKOVITS, 89, formerly of Mackey Ave., Martins Ferry, Ohio died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at East Ohio Regional Long Term Care, Martins Ferry.
She was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on January 6, 1918, daughter of the late Martin J. and Elizabeth (Berher) Tankovits.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Roman Church of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Frank and Martin Tankovits; four sisters, Mary Tankovits, Elizabeth Basista, Amelia Starr and Anna Needs.
She is survived by two sisters, Theresa Rupich, Wheeling, W. Va. ; Velma Welsh, St. Clairsville, Ohio. Rose was a third generation aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 with Rev. Thomas A. Magary as the celebrant.
Interment followed in St. Mary's cemetery, Martins Ferry.
Rosary devotions were recited Tuesday at 3 followed by Wake service at 7:30 p.m.

NORMAN F. DENNIS, SR., 74, of Main Street, Tiltonsville, Ohio, died Monday, July 23, 2007, in Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, W. Va.
He was born in Paden City, W. Va on November 12, 1932, son of the late Chalmer F. and Ora M. (Nolan) Dennis.
He was a retired chemist at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Yorkville Plant; former patrolman for village of Rayland; an employee of the former Ohio Ferro Alloys of Brilliant; member of the Rayland United Methodist Church; former scout master for Boy Scout Troop 60 of Tiltonsville; and a lifetime member of the Tiltonsville Volunteer Fire Dept. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Norman is survived by his wife, Emma E. (Miller) Dennis; son, Norman F. (Debbie) Dennis, Jr, Belmont, Ohio; daughter, Cathy E. (Michael) Pasco, Rayland, Ohio; two brothers, Kenneth (Betty) Dennis, Yorkville, Ohio and Robert (Margie) Dennis, Brilliant, Ohio; grandson, Jason A. (Robyn) Dennis, Belmont; three granddaughters, Heather Dennis, Belmont, Kimberly and Emily Pasco, Rayland; and also his favorite companion, his cat Tommy.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tom Thomas officiating.
Interment in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
Tiltonsville Volunteer Fire Dept. held services Wednesday at 7 p.m. Belmont Co. Council of the V.F.W. gave military honors at the funeral home Thursday at 10:45 a.m.

ANTHONY A. BRYKALSKI, 67, of Indiana Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at his residence.
He was born in Lansing, Ohio on September 4, 1939, son of the late Walter and Bella (Kowalski) Brykalski.
He was a retired driver and salesman at Continental Bakery of Wheeling. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Edward; sister, Helen Baucknick.
Tony is survived by his wife, Dianne (Kerkuta) Brykalski; daughter, Darlene Brykalski; two brothers, Walter and Frank Brykalski; three sisters, Violet Lenz; Stella Callarick; Mary Jane Masessa.
Services were held at the convenience of the family.

ROBERT LEE KLOETZER, 64, of N. 8th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio died Friday, August 24, 2007 at Oakland Veterans Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Bob was born in Wheeling, W. Va. on February 13, 1943, son of the late Fred Kloetzer and Betty L. (Ryan) DuJardin who survives him of Martins Ferry.
He was a retired employee of the former Wheeling Closure Corp. of Wheeling. Bob also served in the U. S. Marines.
In addition to his mother he is survived by a brother, David H. Kloetzer of Martins Ferry; two sisters, Linda Lou (Robert) Knicely and Janet (Robert) Sandrick, both of Wheeling; also numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Monday, August 27, 2007 at 8 p.m., with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.

RUTH A. TOURCHETTE, 32, of Patterson Hill Road, Bellaire, and formerly of Martins Ferry, Ohio died Friday, September 7, 2007 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, W. Va..
She was born in San Leandro, Ca. on July 7, 1975, daughter of the late Joseph Tourchette and Reginia (Stalker) Lambert who survives her of Bellaire, Ohio.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two brothers, Joseph (Jeannie) Tourchette, Muskegon, Mich. and Steven (Stacy) Tourchette, Bellaire, Ohio.
Services are private at the convenience of family.

GOLDIE BRUNEY, 93, formerly of Colerain, Ohio died Saturday, September 8, 2007 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, Ohio.
She was born in Blaine, Ohio on July 22, 1914, daughter of the late George and Terssia Bartza.
She was a retired School Teacher having taught at the Martins Ferry School System, Warren Consolidated of Tiltonsville and also Bridgeport High School.. She was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry and the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Bruney and an infant daughter.
She is survived by two sons, Robert O. and his wife, Judy and Thomas R. and his wife Cheryl Bruney all of Colerain, Ohio; five grandchildren, Thomas L. and his wife Shannon; Robert D. and his wife, Ellie; Thomas R. and his wife, Jenny; Fred and his wife, Kate; Beth and her husband, Jon; eleven great grandchildren, Samantha, Zack, Niko, Rocco, Ezekiel, Suzanna Jude, Max, Grace, Taylor Bruney and Gunnar, and Addison Greer..
Funeral sevices were held at the funeral home, Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Bill N. Lawrence officiating.
Interment followed in Riverview cemetery, Martins Ferry.
Bereavement service were held by the deacons of the church Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Martins Ferry City School Systems, Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.

WILBUR E. (BUTCH) HULL, 82, of Ohio Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Heartland -Lansing Care Center, Lansing, Ohio.
He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on September 23, 1924, son of the late Wilbur W. and Margaret A. (Dichtenmiller) Hull.
He was a retired employee of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Yorkville Plant; a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Eagles Aerie No. 456, both of Martins Ferry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Orville and Alfred; sister, Margaret Szeckacs.
Wilbur is survived by his wife, Marilyn E. (Beck) Hull; two sons, David G., North Canton, Ohio and Ronald J. of Lansing, Ohio; two brothers, Daniel N. (Carolyn), West Palm Beach, Florida and Arthur L. (Jo), of Martins Ferry. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home, Monday, September 24, 2007 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Van D. Fisher, officiating.
Interment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

ELMER C. BURCH, 75, formerly of Kuckuck Lane, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Crestview Health Care Center, St. Clairsville, Ohio.
He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on November 6, 1931, a son of the late George and Nellie J. (Miller) Burch.
He was a retired employee of the city of Martins Ferry.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann (Keller) Burch; step-daughter, Elizabeth Ann McKelvey, Martins Ferry; three brothers, George Burch, Bellaire, Harry Burch, Columbus, William Burch, Martins Ferry; and a sister, Delores Bannan, Martins Ferry.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Friday, September 28, 2007 at 10 a.m. with Rev. William O. Webster, officiating.
Interment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

VIRGINIA "G.I." GLOVER, 84, formerly of Center St., Martins Ferry, Oh., died Saturday, September 29th, 2007 at East Ohio Regional Hospital.
Virginia was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on June 4, 1923, she was the daughter of the late James and Madeline (Greer) Grooms.
She was a retired Tagger at Bobbie Brooks, Bellaire, Oh. where she worked for 33 years, she was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Martins Ferry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac "Ike" Glover.
She is survived by a son, Richard "Putsy" (Michele) Glover, Martins Ferry; a brother, James (Ruth) Grooms, St. Clairsville, Oh.; a sister Janice (Dave) Bowen, St.Clairsville, Oh; a grandson, Jeff (Jill) Glover, Martins Ferry; a granddaughter, Crystal (Ed) Glover-Murray, Martins Ferry., 4 great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at 1 P.M. with John Oliver officiating. Interment followed in Riverview cemetery, Martins Ferry.

SHIRLEY A. POLLOCK, 72, formerly of So. 3rd. Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton, Ohio.
She was born in Yorkville, Ohio on December 5, 1934, daughter of the late Francis J. and Wilma M. (Winters) Lemal.
She was a retired employee for the City of Martins Ferry / Riverview cemetery. Shirley was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, also of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. "Spud" Pollock and a brother, Michael Lemal.
She is survived by son, Charles, husband of Cathy Pollock, Plain City, Oh.; daughter, Kimberly Diane, wife of Scott Garmatter, Bluffton, Oh.; sister, Frances Wilma Sockman, Tiltonsville, Oh. ; brother, John R., husband of Alma Lemal, Martins Ferry; four grandsons, Christopher, Casey, Jacob and Joshua.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 11, 2007, with Rev. Thomas A. Magary as the celebrant. Interment followed in Riverview cemetery, Martins Ferry.
Rosary was held Wednesday at 3 followed by wake service at 7:45 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to SMC 2000, 24 N. 4th Street, or Martins Ferry Fire Dept., both of Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.
