JOHN C. KELLER, 76, of Piedmont, Ohio and formerly of Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Ohio State Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
He was born at home in Martins Ferry, Ohio on October 10, 1932, the son of the late John O. and Edith S. (Smith) Keller.
John was retired from Black and White Contractors Supply of Wheeling, WV, where he worked for over 30 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Burch.
He loved being on his farm in Piedmont and will be tremendously missed by his wife of 51 years, Mary E. (Renshaw) Keller; son, John J. (Kimberly) Keller, Piedmont; daughter, Ellen M. (Todd) Blake, Martins Ferry; daughter, Christine L. Smith, Navarre, Ohio; daughter, Becky A. Jenkins, Dublin, Ohio; daughter, Katherine R. (Vince) West, Martins Ferry; daughter, Sandy L. Keller, Martins Ferry; son, Joseph A. (Jessica) Keller, Martins Ferry; sister, Patricia (Joseph) Shemenski, Warrington, Pa. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry at 10 a.m. Monday, August 3, 2009, with Rev. Thomas A. Magary as the celebrant.
Interment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to SMC 2000, 24 N. 4th Street Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935 or Belmont Co. Veterans Commission, St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950.
The Belmont Co. Council of the V.F.W. presented military honors at the funeral home Monday morning.

KATHERYN C. FABRY, 82, of Grant Ave., Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Liza's Place, Wheeling, W.Va.
She was born in Bellaire, Ohio on March 12, 1927, the daughter of the late William and Frances (Pelkey) Seabrook.
She was a retired employee of Bellaire Clinic, Bellaire, Ohio. Katheryn was a foster parent for 95 children for the state of Ohio. She also received an award for recognition from the Governor of the State of Ohio for her 25 years of foster parenting.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Fabry; daughter, Bonita Soltesz; two brothers, Gene and Delbert Seabrook.
She is survived by son, Randy A. Fabry; three daughters, Linda M. (Gene) Schuster, Pamela J. Fabry, Melissa S. (Eric) Britt, all of Martins Ferry; brother, Bill Seabrook, Canton, Ohio; grandson, Chaney Schuster; seven granddaughters, Lisa Pelkey, Gena Douglas, Nicole Koroneos, Shannon Kreitzer, Erica Pell, and Taylor St. John; nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Monday, August 10, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev. William O. Webster, Jr. officiating.
Interment followed in Mt. Calvary cemetery, Bellaire, Ohio.

JOHN H. "JACK' HENDERSON, 82, of Pearl Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Monday, August 17, 2009 at Ohio State Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
Jack was born in New Kinsington, Pa. on January 13, 1927, the son of the late John Henry and Harriet K. (Leaster) Henderson.
He was a retired employee of the former Picoma Industries of Martins Ferry. He was a member of St. John's Luthern Church; Ohio City Lodge No. 486 F. & A.M. and the American Legion Post 38 all of Martins Ferry. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret L. (Rochus) Henderson; son, Scott R. Henderson of Martins Ferry; two granddaughters, Tiffany Crane and Ashley Henderson; two great granddaughters, Hannah and Olivia; nephew, John H. Henderson.
Memorial service was held at the funeral home Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Bill N. Lawrence officiating.
Belmont Co. Council of the American Legion gave military honors prior to the service.

HERMAN JOHNSON, 83, of Indiana St., Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Sunday, August 23, 2009 at East Ohio Regional Hospital.
He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on January 3, 1926, the son of the late Daniel and Bertha Mae (Jarells) Johnson.
He was retired from the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Mingo Jct., Ohio where he was employed as a stationary engineer for 51 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II in the south pacific aboard the Destroyer USS Capps DD550.
He was a beloved husband to his wife of 61 years, and a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He loved hunting, fishing, boating, gardening and spending time with his wife and family. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Herman is survived by his wife, Adele B. (Burdess) Johnson; three children: Gerald T. Johnson, Martins Ferry; Karen J. McCoy, Columbus, OH and Keith R. (Debra) Johnson, Harpers Ferry, WV; two (2) siblings: Ray (Doris) Johnson, Barnsville, OH; and Ruby (Lowell) Krenke, Pittsburgh, PA; six (6) grandchildren: Sgt. Jon M. (Vicki) McCoy, Hinesville, GA; Brianna (Jack) Whicherly, Groton, CT; Cassandra L. Johnson, Moundsville, WV; Brandon K. Johnson, Nathan R. Johnson, and Andrew A. Johnson Harpers Ferry, WV; two (2) great grandchildren: Connor J. Whicherly, Groton, CT and Kayla M. McCoy, Hinesville, GA.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. John Helgeson and Pastor Peter Walburn officiating.
Interment followed in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
Belmont Co. Council of the American Legion gave military honors at the funeral home prior to the service.

THOMAS E. BLUST, SR., 65, loving husband and father of Bridgeport, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009 while in the company of family members and friends at his residence.
He was born in Wheeling, WV on December 24, 1943, son of the late Edward T. and Virginia E. (Martin) Blust.
He was a graduate of Ohio University; retired employee of International Truck and Engine Co., Indianapolis, Indiana and a former customer service representative of American Electric Power. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Martins Ferry, Ohio; Ohio City #486 F. & A.M. and the Osiris Temple. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James and his beloved dog, Angie.
Tom is survived by his wife, Abigail L. (Tulbure) Blust; son, Thomas E. (Amanda) Blust, Jr., Martins Ferry, OH; two sisters, Marjorie (Willis) Scarfpin, Martins Ferry, OH; Cheryl L. (Michael) Flynn, Manassas, VA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2009 at the Grace Presbyterian Church, 7 N. 4th Street, Martins Ferry with Rev. William O. Webster officiating.
Interment followed in Linwood cemetery, Blaine, Ohio.
Bereavement Service by the Elders of the church was held at the funeral home, Thursday at 6:30 p.m. followed by Masonic Services at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 10686 St. Rt. 150, Rayland, Ohio 43943 or the Grace Presbyterian Church, 7 N. 4th St., Martins Ferry, Ohio.
Military honors were given by the Belmont Co. Council of the V.F.W. prior to the service at the church.

MARY ELIZABETH McKEAN, 96, formerly of Delaware Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Thursday, September 17, 2009 at East Ohio Regional Long Term Care.
She was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on November 11, 1912, a daughter of the late Burt S. and Bertha (Kiger) Mozena.
Mary was a basketball player for Elm School and Martins Ferry High School and a avid Purple Rider Fan.
She was a retired bookkeeper for the former Stiefel & Taylor of Wheeling, WV and Pat McIntosh School of Dance of Martins Ferry. She was a member of the former Free Methodist Church and a member of the Hungarian American Cultural Society also of Martins Ferry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius J. "Colonel" McKean; daughter, Karen Duncan; son, James E. McKean; grandson, Richard D. McKean; two brothers, Alvin and Kendall Mozena; and three sisters, Alberta Barnes, Elmina Bruhn and Eula Bruney.
She is survived by three sons, William C. husband of Carolyn McKean, Martins Ferry; Richard B. husband of Dee McKean, Yorkville, OH; J. Bruce husband of Freda McKean, Greenbank, WV; daughter, Constance "Connie" wife of Mike Jacob, Martins Ferry. She is also survived by 19grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home, Tuesday September 22, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Sharon Van Dam officiating.
Interment followed in Riverview cemetery, Martins Ferry.
The family wishes to thank Long Term, Second Floor employees for their wonderful and compassionate care.

MARY ELIZABETH "LIZ" VOYTECEK, 87, of So. 8th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009.
She was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on September 12, 1922, the daughter of the late A. J. and Salome H. (Morgan) Tolbert.
Liz was a retired employee of the Fashion Manor of Martins Ferry and former L. S. Goods of Wheeling. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's Club of Martins Ferry,
She is survived by her husband, Joseph R. Voytecek; son, Joseph R. (Jennifer) Voytecek, Martins Ferry; daughter, Elizabeth Tegwen Parsons, Martins Ferry; two brothers, William L. Tolbert, Martins Ferry; Anthony J. (Irene) Tolbert, III, Mt. Prospect, Ill.; four grandsons, Chad R. (Amber) Voytecek, Martins Ferry; Shane D. (Brandi) Parsons, Adena, OH; Jeremy P. (Melissa) Voytecek, Martins Ferry; Anthony J. Voytecek, Martins Ferry; granddaughter Megan J. Parsons, Martins Ferry; two great grandsons, Joey Voytecek and Kaiden Parsons; three great granddaughters, Kylie Parsons, Kayla Voytecek and Kara Emery.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009 with Rev. Thomas A. Magary as the celebrant
Interment followed in St. Mary's cemetery, Martins Ferry.
Rosary devotions were recited at the funeral home Friday at 3 followed by Wake service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to SMC 2000, 24 N. 4th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.

ALMA V. DZIAMA, 82, of Washington Street, Martins Ferry, OH, died Saturday, October 3, 2009.
She was born in Passaic, New Jersey on June 18, 1927, the daughter of the late Ernest P. and Agnes (Wilkie) Hessler.
She was a member of St Paul's Episcopal Church of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Dziama.
She is survived by her brother, Ernest Hessler of Clifton, NJ.
Memorial services were held at St Paul's Episcopal Church, 611 Walnut Street, Martins Ferry, OH at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 with Reverend John Brandenburg officiating.
Entombment was held at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.

BARBARA ANN BAZAN, 85, of Pearl Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio, died Saturday, October 3, 2009
She was born in Wheeling, W. Va. on August 22, 1924, a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Jablonski) Leja.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Steve and Frank Leja; two sisters, Julie Leja and Rose Forrester.
Barbara is survived by her husband, John; two daughters, Karen Bazan, Vienna, WV and Christine wife of David Dowdel, Norton, Ohio; sister, Sophia Bazan, Shadyside, Ohio; three granddaughters, Lisa, Allison and Tracey Dowdell.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 with Rev. Thomas A. Magary, as the celebrant.
Interment followed in Mount Calvary cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
Wake Service was held at the funeral home Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
