Samuel A Mullett
August 17, 1925 - February 1, 2013

Samuel A. Mullett, 87, of Middlefield, entered eternal rest Friday afternoon, February 1st, 2013 at his home. He was born August 17th, 1925 to the late Albert and Amanda (Gingerich) Mullett. He was a lifelong resident of the Middlefield area.

He is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran who received a Purple Heart during WWII. He was self-employed and enjoyed working in construction and excavation. He also loved fixing things, golfing, and spending time with his family.

Samuel will be missed by: his children, Carrie (Bill) Reiter, Janet Troyer, Ken (Barb) Mullett, all of Middlefield, Glen (Diane) Mullett of San Antonio, TX, Joan (Bob) Kovach of Cherry Valley, Gloria (Bob) Miller of Huntsburg, Sharon (Andy) Futty of Parkman, Curtis (Michele) Mullett of Chesterland; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; former wife, Linda Buehner; siblings, Owen Mullett, Paul Mullett, Jimmy Mullett, Bette Fairbanks, Sara Cofer, Ada Larson; and many friends. He is preceded in death by: his second wife, Marilyn Mullett; siblings, Calvin Mullett, Ann Judd, Bill Mullett, John Mullett, Ruthie Mullett and Albert Mullet.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 11:00 A.M., TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 5TH, 2013 AT BEST FUNERAL HOME, 15809 MADISON RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH with Rev. D. Ray Mullett officiating. Family and friends will be received from 4-8 PM on Monday, February 4th, at the funeral home. Samuel's final resting place will be in Welton cemetery in Burton, OH.

Deborah A. Seyer

Deborah A. Seyer, 62, of Middlefield, entered eternal rest on Monday evening, November 9th, 2009, at home surrounded by family and friends, after being a brave and valiant warrior in her battle with breast cancer. “Carpe Diem”

Born in Akron to Emanuel and Billie (Van Dyke) Magilavy, She graduated from Firestone High School in Akron in 1965 after attending 11 different schools in 4 states growing up. She devoted her life to giving to her family, friends and others. Debbie spent countless hours volunteering to feed the hungry every second Saturday in Cleveland as well as at Brookside in Cleveland. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Debbie was a secretary at Cardinal Middle School for the past 22 years.

With heartfelt devotion, Debbie was a source of strength, courage, honor, humor and deep love to her all her family and friends. She is survived by: her parents; her loving husband of 41 years, Richard; sons, Major (U.S.A.F.) Jason (Lisa) Seyer of Alexandria, VA and Joshua Seyer of Cleveland; sister, Lynda (John) Slikkerveer; brothers, Charles (Sue) Magilavy and Marc (Karen) Magilavy; and grandchildren, Taylor and Scott Douglas.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 14th at Cardinal Middle School, 14717 Thompson Avenue, Middlefield, OH 44062. Friends and family will be received between 10:00 am and the time of service at the school.

In lieu of flowers it is recommended that donations in Deborah’s memory be sent to the DEBBIE SEYER MEMORIAL FUND, P.O BOX 188, MIDDLEFIELD, OHIO 44062.

Harry P. Weaver

PARKMAN TOWNSHIP — Harry P. Weaver, age 52 years 7 months and 2 days, of Parkman Township, died Thursday evening, Feb. 25, 2010, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born July 23, 1957, to the late Pete H. and Emma M. (Miller) Weaver. Harry, a lifelong resident of Geauga County, was employed at the Orwell Door Company. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Harry is survived by five brothers, Dan (Alta) Weaver, Jim (Sara) Weaver, Bill (Sadie) Weaver, Pete (Emma) Weaver, John (Betty) Weaver; two sisters, Mary (Alvin) Troyer and Viola (Noah) Hershberger; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Weaver. All are from the Middlefield area. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ervin.

Funeral Service will be 9:30 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 28th, at Jacob J. Miller’s residence, 16495 Hosmer Road, Parkman Township, Ohio. Bishop Eli L. Yoder will be officiating. Burial will follow at Weaver cemetery in Parkman Township.

Visitation will be anytime until the time of service, at Jim Weaver’s residence, 16394 Hosmer Road, Parkman Township, Ohio.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Best Funeral Home, 15809 Madison Road, Middlefield, Ohio.

John E. Miller

WINDSOR TOWNSHIP — John E Miller, age 65, of Windsor Township, died Tuesday morning, March 2, 2010 at Scenic Pointe Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Millersburg, OH. He was born December 12, 1944 to the late Ervin and Sarah (Kurtz) Miller. John lived in the Middlefield area most of his life. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. John is survived by: 5 brothers; Dan (Laura) Miller of Meadville, PA, Mose and Melvin (Mary) Miller of Middlefield, OH, Jake Miller of Millersburg, OH, Crist (Mary) Miller of Munfordville, KY; 2 sisters, Ada (Andy) Miller of Munfordville, KY, Mary (Noah) Byler of Middlefield; and sister-in-law, Kathryn Miller of Middlefield. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 A.M., Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Noah Byler’s residence, 6860 South Windsor Rd. Windsor, OH with Bishop John Henry Yoder officiating. Burial will follow at the Nauvoo Road cemetery in Middlefield Township. Visitation will take place at 6860 South Windsor Rd, Windsor, OH anytime until the time of service.

Joseph J. Byler

Joseph J. Byler, age 63, of Windsor Township, died Wednesday morning, April 7, 2010 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 27, 1947 to Jake J. and the late Katie (Detweiler) Byler. Joseph, a lifelong resident of the Windsor area, was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Susie (Yoder); father; children, Daniel (Irma) Byler, Katie Byler, Emma Byler, Fanny Byler, Ivan (Miriam) Byler, Levi Byler, Ada Byler, Esther Byler, Joseph Jr., Samuel Byler, Susan Byler, Melva Byler, and Martha Byler; along with 6 Brothers, 3 sisters, and 12 grandchildren. Joseph is preceded in death by his mother and brother, Yost J.K. Byler. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 A.M., Saturday, April 10, 2010 at, 6747 South Windsor Rd, Windsor Township, OH., with Bishop Dan J.S. Byler officiating. Burial will follow at the Wilcox Road cemetery in Mesopotamia Township. Visitation will be at residence anytime until the time of service.

Nancy M. Byler

Nancy M. Byler (nee Miller), age 75, of Burton Township, died Sunday morning, April 11, 2010 at her residence. She was born January 21, 1935 to the late Monroe S. and Lydia (Weaver) Miller. Nancy, a lifelong resident of Geauga County, was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Mose D Byler; children, Esther (Enos) Byler of Burton, Edna (Noah) Schrock of Burton, Betty (Bill) Byler of Huntsburg, Barbara Byler of Burton, Emma (Albert) Miller of Burton, Raymond (Catherine) Byler of Middlefield, 32 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, and 20 step-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters and 5 brothers. She is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 9:30 A.M., WEDNESDAY, April 14, 2010 at JOE J.S. MILLER’S RESIDENCE, 15020 SHEDD RD. BURTON TOWNSHIP, OH with Minister Enos Slabaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Yoder cemetery in Parkman Township. Visitation will be anytime until the time of service at 15049 Shedd Rd., Burton Township, OH.

Laura Zamblauskas
April 16th, 1916 – December 19th, 2010

LAURA ZAMBLAUSKAS (nee Sabonins), 94, of Mesopotamia entered eternal rest peacefully late Sunday evening, December 19th, 2010 at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center. She is now reunited with her loving husband, Ralph.

She was born April 16, 1916 in Lithuania and moved to Northeast Ohio at age twenty. Laura is survived by: her children, Jim Zamblauskas of Middlefield, Alex (Cathy) Zamblauskas of Cleveland; grandchildren, Thomas Martorello, Linda (John) Jacques, Nicolette Martorello, Carmen Martorello, Alex (Sue) Zamblauskas II; great-grandchildren, Joshua Martorello, Brianna Martorello, Nicole Jacques, Larry Elwood, Alex Zamblauskas III, Rebecca Zamblauskas; and great-great grandson, Wyatt James Elwood. She was preceded in death by: her husband; and children Thomas Zamblauskas, John Zamblauskas, and Mary Martorello

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 12:00 pm, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 23th, 2010 at BEST FUNERAL HOME, 15809 MADISON RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH. Friends and family will be received between 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow in All Souls cemetery in Chardon, OH.

Terry A. Speelman Sr.
December 14, 1954 - April 15, 2013

Terry A. Speelman Sr., 58, of Burton, entered eternal rest Monday morning, April 15th, at UHHS-Geauga Medical Center. He was born December 14th, 1954 in Somerset, PA to Lloyd and Leola Speelman. He leaves behind his loving wife of 39 years, Janet (Straw) Speelman.

He worked as a shipper for Duramax Marine in Troy Twp for many years. Terry enjoyed playing poker with his friends, hunting, listening to country music, riding around in his golf cart, planting his garden every year, and spending time with his family.

Terry will be missed by: his wife; children, Terry Speelman Jr. and Tabitha (Tony) Weatherholt, both of Burton; siblings, Robert (Shirley) Speelman, Zelma (Victor) Tracy, Sharon (John) Loze; 6 grandchildren; and many friends. He is preceded in death by brothers, Lloyd Speelman Jr. and James Speelman.

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL BE HELD AT 7:00 Pm, FRIDAY, APRIL 19TH, 2013 at BEST FUNERAL HOME, 15809 MADISON RD, MIDDLEFIELD, oh 44062. Friends and family will be received on Friday, April 19thth, from 12-2 P.M. and 5-7 P.M at the Funeral Home.

Alyce G. Gledhill
March 3, 1934 - March 4, 2013

Alyce G. Gledhill, 79, of North Bloomfield, entered eternal rest Monday morning, March 4th, 2013 at UH-Geauga Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born March 3rd, 1934 to the late Otto and Alice Wendt. Alyce is now once again reunited with her loving husband, Jonathan Gledhill, who passed away in 2006.

She will be missed by: her children, MSgt. (USMC) Kevin (Dyna) Mobley, Patricia (Andrew) Bogdan, Elizabeth (Patrick) Gwinn, Barbara Gledhill, John Gledhill, Darlene Mobley; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many friends. She is preceded in death by: her husband; daughter, Carol Ann Gledhill; and 1 sister.

A private gathering of family will be held at a later date.

Jonas A. Troyer

September 17, 1940 - April 18, 2013

Jonas A. Troyer, 72, of Middlefield, entered eternal rest Thursday morning, April 18th, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born September 17th, 1940 in Milford, IN to the late Andrew A. and Ida Mae (Kemp) Troyer. Jonas married Fannie D. Byler on November 19th, 1964.

He has lived in Middlefield since 1962 and is a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Jonas enjoyed going to auctions, tending to his garden, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Jonas will be missed by: his loving wife; children, Linda Marie (Robert) Miller, Raymond (Edna Mae) Troyer, Leona (Daniel Ray Jr) Bontrager, Laura (Melvin) Byler; 28 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jonas is preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 9:30 A.M., SATURDAY, APRIL 20TH, 2013 AT 16151 NAUVOO RD, MIDDLEFIELD, OH with Bishop Bill W. Byler officiating. Jonas' final resting place will be in Clark Rd cemetery in Mesopotamia, OH. Visitation will be anytime until the time of service.

Jonas N. Hershberger
January 13, 1918 - March 4, 2013

Jonas N. Hershberger of Troy Twp passed away on March 4th, 2013 at the age of 95 years old. He was born to the late Neil I. and Lizzie Ann (Fisher) Hershberger in Burton on January 13th, 1918. He is now reunited with his loving with, Barbara (Miller), who passed away in 1997. Jonas was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

He will be missed by: his children, Melvin (Sarah) Hershberger, Malinda (Aden) Chupp, Katie (Monroe) Schmucker, Lydia (Henry) Miller, Abner (Mary Ann) Hershberger, Fannie (John) Burkholder, Barbara (John) Miller; 56 grandchildren; 156 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jonas is preceded in death by: his parents; wife; 1 grandchild; and 2 great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 9:30 A.M., THURSDAY, MARCH 7TH, 2013 AT RAYMOND MILLER JR.'S RESIDENCE, 14280 PATCH RD, TROY TWP. with Bishop Noah N. Hershberger officiating. Jonas' final resting place will be in Hershberger cemetery in Troy Twp, OH. Visitation will be anytime until the time of service at 14440 Patch Rd., Troy Twp.
