Clara M. Russell
(1929 - 2008)

WEST UNITY - Clara M. Russell, age 79, of Amy Drive, Bryan, died late December 14, 2008 at Bryan Community Hospitals in Bryan, Ohio. She was born March 5, 1929 in Hudson, Mich., the daughter of Harry and Ella (Kipp) Topps. She married William Wayne Russell, who is deceased.
A lifelong resident of the Fayette and West Unity area, Clara was a homemaker.
Memberships include the Olive Branch Christian Union Church of Fayette.
Mrs. Russell enjoyed volunteering at the West Unity Senior Center.
Survivors include three daughters, Diane Case (Husband - Ron) of Nev., Kathy Moskowitz and Pat Beebe both of Bryan; one son, David Russell of Grand Rapids, Mich.; twelve grandchildren, Linda Barnett, Lisa Witte, Cassandra VanSloten, Andrea Case, William Mohr, Todd Moskowitz, Jay Hahn, Andy Hahn, Elizabeth Russell, Jennifer Burns, Megan Gifford and Isaac Moskowitz; thirteen great-grandchildren, Jessica, Amber, Heather, Amanda, Gabriel, Haley, Ashley, Braden, Jaydon, Drew, Mason, Mariya, Emily and Sarah; brother - in - law and sister - in - law, Weldon and Imo Russell of Michigan, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Wayne (2001); infant daughter, Linda; infant great-grandson, Tookie Woods; brothers, Harry, Elton, Calvin, and Raymond Topps; sisters, Nellie and Viola Topps, Ruth Nyhus and Donna Gutting.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2Ð4 p.m. and 6Ð8 p.m. at Orr Funeral Home (formerly Hollingshead - Beck) in West Unity.
Funeral services will be Friday December 19, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Olive Branch Christian Union Church, corner of State Rt. 127 & Co. Rd. P, Fayette, OH. 43521.
Burial will follow at Pleasant View Union cemetery.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St, New York, NY., 10016.

Margaret F. Nowakowski
(1919 - 2008)

Margaret F. Nowakowski, 89 years, of Bryan, died Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center, where she had been a resident.
Margaret was born on November 25, 1919, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Piotrowski) Burzynski. She married Leonard W. Nowakowski in January 19, 1946 and he preceded her in death on June 29, 1995. Mrs. Nowakowski was a devoted homemaker and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, and formerly a member of St. Alexander Catholic Church, Milwaukee.
Surviving is her loving son, Michael (Candice) Nowakowski of Bryan; two grandsons, David and Daniel Nowakowski of Bryan; special friends, Robert and Patricia Zajc of Twinsburg, Ohio; two 'adopted' grandchildren, Andrea Zajc of Twinsburg, Ohio and Ashley Zajc of Chicago, Illinois. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive her. Her parents and one sister, Florence, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at St. Alexander Catholic Church, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Interment will follow at St. Adalbert cemetery, Milwaukee. Visitation for Mrs. Nowakowski will be held from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at Max A. Sass and Sons Funeral Home 1515 West Oklahoma Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Local arrangements were entrusted to Burr Funeral Home & Crematory, Bryan.
Memorial Contributions in the name of Margaret F. Nowakowski may be given to St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan; St. Alexander the Great Catholic Church, Milwaukee; or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Larry L. Noffsinger
(Died March 13, 2015)

Larry L. Noffsinger, age 75 of Defiance, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice. He retired in 2003 from Johns - Manville in Defiance. Prior to that he had worked at Dinner Bell Foods in Defiance, Werlor Hauling in Defiance and had also been a Deputy Sheriff for Defiance County.
Larry was born in Bowling Green on April 21, 1939, the son of Harry H. and Margaret (Strayer) Noffsinger. On June 21, 1959 he married Nancy Potts, and she survives. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Defiance, Omega #564 F & A.M. in Defiance, the Defiance Eagles FOE #372, a social member of the Defiance VFW Post 3360, and the Defiance Elks B.P.O.E. Lodge 147.
Larry will be remembered for his love of music, which started at an early age. Larry loved playing trumpet and played “Taps” for countless Veteran funeral services through the VFW. He started playing “Taps” when still in high school and continued his entire life until just a few years ago. He had also played in Bud Widmer’s Rube Band, the Oakwood Community Band and Red Hageman’s Band.
Surviving besides his wife, Nancy, are two sons, Jeff (Donna) Noffsinger of Denver, CO, Gregg Noffsinger of Defiance; daughter, Amy (Mike) Jack of Angola, IN; grandchildren, Cody Jack, Tiffany (Nick) Wolf and Nicholas Noffsinger; and great-grandchildren, Madison and Skyler Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ann Hallard, and brothers - in - law, Roger Hallard and Tom Potts.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 400 Wayne Ave., Defiance. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M., also at the church, with Pastor Joe Payne, officiating. Interment services will follow in the Chapel at Riverview Memory Gardens. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, the Wounded Warrior Project, or Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice. Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with arrangements.

Samuel Miller
(November 20, 1934 - March 13, 2015)
U.S. Veteran

Samuel J. Miller, age 80, of Wauseon passed away at his home in Wauseon early Friday morning, March 13, 2015. He was born in Fulton County on November 20, 1934 to Raymond and Victorine (Dominique) Miller who both preceded him in death. On January 27, 1965 he was united in marriage to Agnes M. Willis. They shared 49 happy years together and she preceded him in death on December 31, 2013. Sam was a lifelong resident of the Delta and Wauseon area and enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing and playing cards with family and friends. He was retired from M & K Metal Processors, Inc of Delta and prior to that had worked at Markey Bronze. Sam was a veteran of the US Army and spent some time in Panama.
In addition to his parents and wife, Agnes, Sam was preceded in death by his sons, Steve Miller in 1989 and Dennis Miller in 2014. He was also preceded in death by sisters Joan Gregg and Janet Hester and brother Howard Miller.
Sam had many loving family members and is survived by his daughter, Tonya Miller and special friend, Mike Fifer of Napoleon, grandchildren Brittany Vincent and Brandon Cranford, and great grandson Jayden Vincent of Louisville, KY, brothers Gene Miller of Delta, Don (Arlene) Miller of Fort Wayne, IN, Tom Miller of Jackson, MI, Doug (Lori) Miller of Delta, Bob (Bobbie) Miller of Delta, sisters Linda (Bill) Higgins of Waldron, MI and Lucy Ames of Delta and many nieces and nephews.
On Friday, March 20 at 11 AM a memorial service celebrating Sam's life will be held at Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home at 219 S. Fulton Street in Wauseon with Pastor Don Krieger officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the service time on Friday.

Patricia Ann Morehouse
(Died April 8, 2015)

Patricia Ann Morehouse, age 86, of Evansport, passed away on Wednesday evening at Mercy Hospital of Defiance. Patricia had worked a LaChoy Food Products in Archbold and helped her husband, Ed, on their farm.
She was born in Defiance on April 2, 1929. In 1949 she married Edward D. Morehouse, and he preceded her in death in 1989. Pat enjoyed the Detroit Tigers, gardening, and was fond of the Stryker Schools. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving is her son, Jerry Morehouse of Defiance; grandchildren, Holly (Elbie) Atkinson of Defiance, Sheri (Terry) House of Niles, MI, Scott (Katrina) Morehouse of Sherwood, and Amy Yates of Defiance. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, and sister, Mary Newberry of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; her parents; great-grandson, Anthony; two brothers George and John Roehrig; and sister Cora Naveau.
Visitation for Patricia will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, April 13, 2015 at the Evansport United Methodist Church, and on Tuesday morning from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, with Pastor Becky Ploughe, officiating. Interment will follow in the Evansport cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Evansport United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker has been entrusted with arrangements.

Clyde L. Tressler
(1948 - 2008)

PIONEER - Clyde L. Tressler, 60, of Pioneer, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at Harborside Healthcare Northwestern Ohio - Bryan.
Born Feb. 6, 1948, at Bryan, to Mildred M. (Moreland) and Virgel O. Tressler, he was a former truck driver and factory worker.
He last drove for M.C.T. out of Sioux Falls, S.D. and also was formerly employed at Mohawk Tool and Kustom Fit of Ohio.
Surviving are two daughters, Sherry (and husband, Bret) George of Angola, Ind., and Shirley Farris of Bryan; a grandson, Andrew Farris of Bryan; four brothers, Fred of Morenci, Mich., Richard of Montpelier, Steve (and wife, Connie) of Bryan and Gene of Hillsdale, Mich.; two sisters, Helen Clark of Roanoke, Va. and Francis Correa of Morenci, Mich.; a grandson, Andrew Farris of Bryan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Pioneer Bible Fellowship, Pioneer, with Pastor Lowell Fast to officiate. Interment will be at Floral Grove, Pioneer.
Memorials may be made to C.H.W.C. - Hospice or Cancer Assistance of Williams County.
Thompson Funeral Home, Pioneer, is in charge of arrangements.

David R. Rand
(1944 - 2008)

WEST UNITY - David R. Rand, 63, rural West Unity, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at CHWC - Bryan.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Evangelical Mennonite Church, Archbold.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., at Orr Funeral Home (formerly Hollingshead - Beck), West Unity. Burial will be at West Franklin cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Jack E. Currier
(Died April 9, 2015)
U.S. Veteran

Jack E. Currier, age 83, of Stryker passed away Thursday April 9, 2015 at Genesis Health Care in Bryan. Prior to his retirement he had worked for several area factories and was a cook at local restaurants.
Mr. Currier was born on August 24, 1931 in Waterville, Ohio to the late Harry and the late Audrey (Murray) Currier. On October 27, 1951 he married the former Ella Sutton and she survives. He was a member of the Stryker United Brethren Church and was also a US Marine veteran. Mr. Currier enjoyed fishing and gardening as well.
Surviving besides his wife, Ella are children, Jim (Rev. Kathy) Currier of Westerville, Ohio, Deb (Ed) Overmier of Bryan, Diane (Vic) Franklin of Stryker and Kathy at home. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grand - daughter and one more great-great-grand - daughter on the way.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday April 13, 2015 at the Stryker United Brethren Church with Pastor Nick Woodall officiating. Interment will follow in the Stryker cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 - 6:00pm at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Condolences may be made to the family at . The Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker has been entrusted with arrangements.

Joseph E. Sauber Jr
(1930 - 2008)

DEFIANCE - Joseph E. Sauber Jr., age 78, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away at 4:10 p.m., Sunday, October 5, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Defiance, Ohio on August 19, 1930, he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Schindler) Sauber.
He was a member of St. John Catholic Church Defiance, Ohio.
He was the husband of Peg (Webb) Sauber. They were married May 19, 1951 and she survives.
Joe was previously employed in maintenance at Defiance City Schools retiring in 1993. He had also worked as a salesman for the Star Lumber Company, Tenzer Lumber Company and Western Auto in Defiance.
He was a member and Ohio vice president of Greyhound Pets of America, member of the Nature Conservatory and Ohio Bluebird Society. He had served in the National Guard. He obtained his GED High School diploma in 1987. Joe was a lifelong resident of Defiance.
Besides his wife surviving are two daughters, Patricia (Tom) Webster of Angola, Ind., Amy (Bruce) Lavoie of Bryan, Ohio; two sons: Dr. Michael (Karen) Sauber of Bryan, Ohio, Douglas (Julianna) Sauber of Three Rivers, Mich.; three sisters, Mary (Russ) Arend of Paulding, Gertie (Earl) Arbogast of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Bernice (Ken) Florence of Defiance; six brothers, Robert (Helen) Sauber of Defiance, Art (Carol) Sauber of Defiance, Kenneth (Sue) Sauber of West Unity, Ohio, Tom (Joyce) Sauber of Fayette, Ohio, Fred (Denise) Sauber of Archbold, Ohio, Don (Karen) Sauber of Defiance. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church, Defiance, Ohio at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, October 8, with Father Todd Dominique officiating.
Friends are invited to call Tuesday 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 at Lawson - Roessner Funeral Home where there will be a 7:30 Vigil Service Tuesday. Interment will be at Riverside cemetery in Defiance.
Suggested memorials are to the Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Hospice Care or the Greyhound Pets of America.
