Kathryn Kay Smith
(Died April 1, 2015)

Kathryn Kay Smith, age 64, of Stryker, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Prior to her retirement she had worked at Sauder Manufacturing in Stryker, for 34 years.
Kathryn was born in Bryan, Ohio on September 8, 1950, the daughter of Wesley and Martha (Earlston) Lyons. On December 28, 1968 she married Gerald “Jerry” Smith, and he preceded her in death in 2007. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Montpelier.
Surviving are two daughters, Stacey Rittenhouse - Smith of Hicksville and Jennifer Smith of Stryker; son, Eric (Kendra) Smith of Montpelier; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, LeRoy “Bud” (Ollie) Lyons of Bryan and Rick Lyons of Bryan; and three sisters, Annabelle West of Bryan, Florence Lyons - Struble of Bryan, and Mary Jane Ridenour of Bryan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; two brothers, Ralph and Clancy Lyons; and two sisters, Margaret Stahl and Donna Lyons - Smith.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, also at the Grisier Funeral Home, with Pastor Nick Woodall, officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakwood cemetery in Stryker. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Stryker Fire Department.

Nancy L. Myers
(1938 - 2008)

HILLSDALE, Mich. - Nancy L. Myers, 70, of Hillsdale, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Bryan, Ohio.
Born July 25, 1938, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Alberta (Troutner) and Richard Graham.
A graduate of Litchfield High School, she worked with Glei's Inc. Orchards and Greenhouses for 25 years and retired Dec. 31, 2007. She was a member of the Osseo United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer.
Surviving are four children, Arlene (and husband, Gene) La Doux of Shelby, Mich., William (and wife, Julie) Myers of Bryan, Ohio, James D. (Debbie) Myers Jr. of Osseo and Cynthia K. (Shawn) Hawkes of Jonesville; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; a brother, Fred (Becky) Graham of Reading; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father on March 30, 1989, and her mother on March 20, 2001.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Hampton - Kurtz Funeral Home, Hillsdale.
A funeral service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Don Lee, Pastor Michael Murray and Pastor John MacFarlane to officiate. Interment will be in the East Hill cemetery, Osseo.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Andrew V. Forgione
(1930 - 2008)

Andrew V. "Butch" Forgione, 78, of Bryan, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, shortly after admittance to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Bryan.
Born June 5, 1930, at Newark, N.J., he was the son of Helen (Usafara) and Anthony F. Forgione.
Retired as a city worker with the Burrough of Red Bank, N.J., he also retired from Liberty Hose Company No. 2 Red Bank Fire Department of which he served as fire police captain.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, and Sons of Amvets Post No. 54, Bryan.
Surviving are two brothers, Vincent Forgione of Clearwater, Fla., and Arcalo "Herkey' (and wife, Nancy) Forgione of Manchester, N.J.; two sisters, Martha Scarpello of Manahawkin, N.J., and Gilda (Daniel) Barnard of Bryan; and many nieces and nephews in New Jersey, Ohio and Florida.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Wysowaty and Nancy Tenore.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m., with a scripture service at 8 p.m., in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, with the Rev. Father Charles Ritter to officiate. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan.

Melvin L. Cordy
(Died April 2, 2015)

Melvin L. Cordy, age 64, of Fayette, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Thursday, April 2, 2015. Prior to his retirement he had worked for Krueger Construction in Archbold, for many years.
Melvin was born in Wauseon on July 2, 1950, the son of Stanley R. and Marcella M. (Merillat) Cordy. On September 23, 1983 he married Virginia Mauder, and she preceded him in death. Melvin loved to go to flea markets and auctions.
Surviving is one daughter, Erika (Brandon) Ford of Adrian, MI; two grandchildren, Alexandria and Samuel Ford; and one sister, Phyllis (Michael) Stamm, of Wauseon. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia; son, Travis Cordy; and two brothers, Albert and Robert Cordy.
Combined graveside funeral services for both Melvin and Travis will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the Pleasantview cemetery in Fayette. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Christian Mission, 1239 Wolf Creek Highway, Adrian, MI 49221.
Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.

Robert E. Finken
(1938 - 2008)

WEST UNITY - Robert E. Finken, 69, of West Unity, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at St. Vincent's Mercy Medical Center in Toledo following an extended illness.
Born Sept. 16, 1938, at Bryan, he was the son of Lucille (Brannan) and Clarence W. Finken.
A 1956 graduate of Bryan High School, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He most recently worked as a security guard at Kamco and was a member of the First Church of Christ in Bryan.
Surviving are a sister, June Shook of Bryan; daughters, Debbie (and husband, Jerry) Gleason of New Castle, Texas, and Tami Roushia of Bryan; four grandchildren, Katie Roushia and Tyler Roushia of Bryan, and Benjamin Gleason and Shanna Gleason of New Castle, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and his companion, Anita Shumaker of West Unity.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother - in - law, R.T. Shook of Bryan.
A private memorial service will be Friday at Floral Grove cemetery, West Unity.
Arrangements are being made with Burr Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.

Richard 'Dick' J. Rufenacht
(1927 - 2008)

ARCHBOLD - Richard "Dick" J. Rufenacht, 81, of Archbold, died Saturday morning, Sept. 6, 2008, at Fairlawn Haven.
Born Feb. 25, 1927, at Archbold, to Arvada (King) and Aaron Rufenacht, he married Gladys Mootz in 1953 and she preceded him in death.
A 1945 graduate of Archbold High School, he had served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
He drove school bus for the Archbold Local Schools, and owned and operated the Archbold Dairy Freeze from 1964 - 1974 and, subsequently, the Sanitation & Refuse Service until his retirement in 1993.
He was a member of the Archbold Volunteer Fire Department for 18 years, serving for four years as assistant fire chief.
A member of the Archbold Evangelical Mennonite Church, he was active in the Chancel Choir and the Sounds of Him. He was also a member of the Northwesternaires Barbershop Chorus, receiving the 1990 Barbershopper of the Year award.
A member of the Archbold Rotary Club, he received the Paul Harris Fellow Award for his part in initiating the Ruihley Park Festival of Lights.
Surviving are a daughter, Sherrie (and husband, Terry) Marrs of Pikeville, Ky.; a son, Rick (and wife, Eileen) of Defiance; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles (Donna) of Sun City West, Ariz.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Melba (Carl) Schmucker.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 - 9 p.m. in the Fairlawn Chapel.
A service will be Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Rex Stuart to officiate. Short Funeral Home, Archbold, is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Archbold Evangelical Mennonite Church or the Archbold Fire Department.

Donna J. Auby
(1928 - 2008)

BELLEVUE - Donna J. Auby, 80, formerly of Stryker and Bellevue, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at Stein Hospice Center, Sandusky.
Born July 24, 1928, at Stoughton, Wis., to Alma (Gullickson) and Alex Listug, she married Henry G. Auby on Feb. 12, 1949, at Madison, Wis., and he preceded her in death on June 18, 2008.
A homemaker, she was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her daughters, Dawn Ruffer of Archbold, Yvonne (and husband, Lawrence) Hausch of West Unity, Beth (Ted) Zigler of Columbus, Sueann King of Bellevue and Anita (Dennis) Andrews of Bellevue; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, David (and wife, Margaret) Listug of Stoughton, Wis.; sisters - in - law, Carol (David) Farber of Wisconsin Falls, Wis., and Ardys Listug of Milwaukee, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Listug; a sister, Elaine Bacilek; a grandson, Nathan Richard Andrews; a son - in - law, Michael Forest King; and her granddaughter's fiance, Derek Lore.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon at St. John's Lutheran Church, 209 Southwest St., Bellevue, where the funeral service will begin at noon with the Rev. Richard Sutter to officiate.
Memorials may be made to Stein Hospice, 1400 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, OH 44811 is in charge of arrangements.

Martha J. Stamm
(1922 - 2008)

ARCHBOLD - Martha J. Stamm, 86, of Archbold, died Friday afternoon, Sept. 5, 2008, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, Archbold, where she had resided the past month.
Born Feb. 24, 1922, near Archbold, to Bertha (Burkholder) and Arthur Eicher, she married Walter Stamm on April 13, 1941, and he survives and resides at Fairlawn Haven.
A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, she was a homemaker and helped on the farm.
She was a member of the Central Mennonite Church near Archbold, Cherry Street Mission Auxiliary and the Ladies Group of WPOS. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Edward (and wife, Karen) Stamm of Archbold, Roger (Jeannine) Stamm of Stryker and Dale (Leslie) Stamm of West Unity; two daughters, Pat (and husband, Bill) Bondi of Secor, Ill., and Karen (Ross) Wyse of Archbold; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen (Dale) Weldy of Archbold; and a sister - in - law, Grace Eicher of Pettisville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson; a brother, James Eicher; and a sister, Mary Short - Frey.
Visitation will be today from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Fairlawn Chapel.
Memorial services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Central Mennonite Church with Pastors Jeffrey Smith, Wanda Stopher, Bill Holsopple and Charles Gautsche to officiate. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Pettisville cemetery.
Short Funeral Home in Archbold is in charge of arrangements.
